The scenery of Kazushi's room was a welcome one; after having woken up to the hospital walls and ceiling, the cream coloration of his room almost reminded him of the shade of the hospital, however it bore a sense of familiarity that he could accept. What he could not accept, however, was the dreadful emptiness when it reminded him of his uncle, who never made it back, and by extension, the sacrifices his uncle made when he disintegrated the bodies of his parents to safeguard the secrets of the bloodline. Kazushi had been quite young when this happened, and it forced him to accept a crueler reality than he’d want to live in. And he accepted it, with the price being an emotional and psychological breakdown at the age of fourteen years of age. He slept right through his birthday, which had been on the twentieth of April. What a fucking loser.
The doctors were very accommodating, of course. Post-traumatic stress disorder was nothing new to them, in either child or adult soldiers. But Kazushi was one of the old bloodlines of the Kirigakure. He expected more of himself. But alas, he was just a human.
And a child, at that.
But today, he had been invited to do a mission: he was to report to the Kirigakure’s dungeon, where he alongside another genin would practice interrogation tactics on a war prisoner. So he made it to the dungeon, black pants and black vest, black headband with Kirigakure's headband dangling from his neck, and his father’s blue long coat. He made to the administration office, where he was offered a seat while he waited on his mission partner, before they were ushered to the cell where one poor sod would wait for an interrogation practice session.a
