It's Not The Same

"I gotta admit, I ain't never seen some shit like this before...", the young hustler looking up above with widen eyes, taking in the completely new kinder weather condition that heavily contrast with the climate outside the dome. The lively trees was a nice touch, along with the many stone walkways for people to get around. Walking with sand between toes gets old, and irritating. The sweat he once felt was nearly gone, the cooler climate was much needed. He even forgot about the rather strange welcome he received when gaining entrance into the village. His card was still in his hand, firmly kept within his grasps. The ID given to him that not only allowed him entry, but contained information about himself. He needed to keep this nice and secure he thought, another run in with the villages officials was not something he could deal with twice in once day. Once was enough he believed. He tucks it away neatly into his his left front pocket of his black jeans, while unraveling his jacket he wore, wrapped around his waist. Adorning his thin black jacket, he is seen sauntering around with wandering eyes, taking in all what was to offer

Katsuragi's attire was the same from before at the village gate. Under his thin black jacket, he wore a solid white shirt. His pants were a pair of black jeans, his boots also being solid black. His hair, still vivid, was a solid dark purple. His tools and such were all assorted evenly along his attire, given no hint to their whereabouts.

Moments later, Katsuragi makes a stop in front of what seemed to be a spire, he himself stands tall, and vexed. He'd never seen this before. There were issues in the village, which he was without a doubt certain, the main issue being the lack of petty crime. Normally, in any village there are the two sides to a coin. Heads, what you see on the outside, economy at work, people walking their dogs, shinobi out and about..., basically an  image selling the illusion of peace. Then there was tails, what you normally don't see out in the open. For example, illegal gambling, distribution of narcotics via corner grunts, and to his view, not a single hint that any of those were offered. Katsuragi knew the tell tales, follow white rabbit and there appears wonderland. But there was nothing, no bookies, and not a piece of graffiti art pasted along the wall. At all...

"What's going on here?...", for a land of opportunities, it was severely lacking in them. He stands still cept for his right hand, running through his hair while he contemplates on what to do next.

Taichi saw the dome in the distance. He was curious as to just what in the world it was. How did he not recognize it? Was it always there? Was it new? The Norseman didn't know and truly, didn't care. He waltzed over to the dome and walked through the doors. As he walked in, he couldn't believe what was before his eyes. "The amount of chakra needed to make this, it's staggering." He continued to walking through the forest and over the bridges that had been built over large rivers. Taichi knew exactly who had built this, it had to have been Kenshin himself. This amount of chakra was not something any novice ninja or even a team of novice ninja would have access to. 

As he was walking through the dome, reminiscing on Fang Island as he walked through the dense forests, he saw a figure standing still, looking as though he was deep in thought. Interested, the Norseman strolled over to the individual and introduced himself. "Hey there! Name is Taichi. Who might you be, friend?" Taichi would extend his right hand as a sign of respect in our greeting.

Alone with his thoughts on how to do, or more or less what to do next, Katsuragi turns his body to his right towards another stranger making his way towards him. He knew not who he was, but still kept his cool demeanor. The on coming fellow had no hands in his pockets, and bore no ill intent externally. No weapons either, but the evidence of absence certainly wasn't the evidence of absence. nevertheless, it wasn't like Katsuragi wasn't carrying anything. Concealed within his own wardrobe were a pair of problem solvers.

Nevertheless, Katsuragi was still in thoughts about this village, how strange it was with the lack of crime. But soon it would all be clear. What better person to ask than a villagers themselves. Perhaps gaining a bit of some insight could help him come up with a few better ways to tackle this new village.

After the humble greeting from, Tachi, who's skin was a white as snow, he nods towards snowflake, avoiding physical contact. "What's up, hey hey man..., let me ask you something. Were you born and raised here? Cause I could use some information. Like for starters...", Katsuragi had to word this just right to avoid suspicion. Asking directions towards shady individuals wasn't exactly a smart move. "If I was new here, right? What area would I want to avoid completely and why?", he waits for a response.

The Norseman listened to the question being asked of him by the individual and he thought for a moment. “I was indeed born and raised here, I lived here up until the destruction of this village by the hands of Kirigakure.” Taichi thought about the second question that was asked of him, the question caused Taichi to think for a moment. He thought of the days when he would leave his house to get away from his father, trying to find a place of respite to get away from the abuse he was facing. 

Taichi’s mind would stroll along the walls of the village, he would continue through the village, trying to find a place that the average citizen would be beneficial to stay away from at all times. A small flicker of memory ran through his mind, remembering all of the gangs that once ran through this city prior to its destruction. He remembered a hideout in the village, a back alley of sorts that had been created by a gang that had called themselves the “Sand Strigas.” Taichi didn’t have too many interactions of them, but he did remember their insignia. The insignia showed four fangs overlapping each other with two S’s across the center. 

Before the destruction they mostly just robbed the younger ninja and the older folk among the city, but he did hear about people seeing that insignia in the outer borders of the wind country. Taichi figured this would be the best bit of info to give a fellow traveler should he find himself wandering the back alleys of Suna on his own. “I would say the places that one should try to avoid at all costs is the back alleys that lay in the center of Suna’s south side. It is the one area where the walls don’t see due to the geography and the distance from the walls. In that area, the stone falls into a slight hole, creating an underbelly of sorts for the village. A gang that was pretty prevalent in the village used that area as a headquarters of sorts.” Taichi’s voice would be more formal than it was in his greeting, wanting to be sure that what he was saying was taken seriously. 

He would pause for a moment before continuing to explain what he knew, “The gang was called the Sand Strigas. From what I heard they headed the bandits that ran this village during it’s destruction, but fanned out of here when the money ran dry. Their insignia looked very much like this.” Taichi would place his hands on the ground and use roots to form the four overlapping fangs and the two S’s in the center. “If you find this insignia, you will know that the Strigas are near, if not watching at that very moment.” Taichi lifted his hands after dispelling the roots and returning it to the soil beneath. Taichi’s eyes went from serious to curious as he pondered the individual’s question. 


“Why do you ask for such information? Are you a cautious traveler? An aspiring vigilante? Or are you just looking to get into some trouble yourself?” Taichi’s question would hang over the air with a huge hint of curiosity.

So there was hope after all, Katsuragi nodded his purple haired head slightly a few times with approval. Every settlement known to man had it's dirt, no matter how clean it looked on the outside. The young hustler steps back, while Snowflake placed his hand on the ground, manipulating the roots from below into what was know explained to be the symbol of the gang. It also explained that Tachi was of Senju heritage, a well known clan known throughout the land. He keeps his distance from him while everything went on below.

This village almost completely sold him the façade, fortunately, the local broke it down for him with quite a bit of information. The sand strigas, a gang he never heard of, he was a bit surprised he never heard of them before. Seeing how he did time out west, he figured he would at least heard the mention of them. Katsuragi met a lot of people from all over the world during his time in prison. Regardless, the bit of information was useful, and with that he could finally make some moves that could prove to yield long-lasting benefits.

"Sand Strigas huh, southside, good looks man..."

Tachi: “Why do you ask for such information? Are you a cautious traveler? An aspiring vigilante? Or are you just looking to get into some trouble yourself?”

A question well anticipated by, Katsuragi. Curiosity does get the best of people, no matter how much one structures their words. "Sand Strigas huh, good looks. You know, you can tell a lot bout a village from the amount crime it has... that's why I liked checking out those areas first", he laughs only slightly, more grin than a chuckle. 

The truth behind it all, he wondered if Snowflake had any idea how life was like on the other side. It was as his old cell mate explained, crime was like an economy. A shadow economy that ran everything one could think of, from dope to weapons. Even the villages, the major ones as well, all relied on the underworld to promote that one concept that stimulated power and technological advancement, conflict. If they weren't fighting each other, they all leaned on the underworld for a bit of purse. The black market was no secret, it's travel routes, the god forsaken horrendous activities that took place within, everyone knew what goes on in there. Yet it all remains, all for the sake of never-ending conflict. 

Katsuragu looks towards, Taichi. "let me ask you something man..., you a shinobi?", Katsuragi's eyes narrows in anticipation with his his chin held slightly high up.

This individual seemed to be of the shady sort, but that was something that Taichi was fine with. It's not as if Taichi was one that could judge others based on their moral background when taking into consideration his own. Taichi would smile back at the shady individual and smile back at him. The individual then asked Taichi a question, a question that he actually hadn't received before surprisingly enough. Taichi then nodded and answered, "Of course I am!" Taichi brought out his old Suna head band. Something that he never brought out due to how disgraced he felt due to it's destruction. "From this very village my friend. What about you?" Taichi would await the answer from the gentleman that stood before him, with his mind working in the background.

"Why is he so interested in the convoluted part of the village? He didn't seem to be the type that wanted to take them down." Of course Taichi was basing this judgement solely on their first mere interaction, but there was something about this guy that yelled out shady, but Taichi didn't care. He was happy that there was someone in the village that seemed to be interesting enough to talk to! Much better than the rabble that always ended up in the taverns with him. Was this guy a shinobi too? He would soon find out.

"Oh...welp thanks for the info, partner see ya on the rebound", Katsuragi voice changed. After hearing this, Katsuragi saluted the shinobi with a goodbye, and walked away along the side walk path towards a couple dressed in shinobi issued uniform. This place was lousy with patrols, Katsursagi thought. Nevertheless, Katsuragi kept his cool and continued on towards the crowd ahead of the couple. Was there a field trip? On to the village market plaza he went, wondering where he would get something to eat. His interest in find out more about the village grew. This might very well be the land of opportunity he sought out for.
