Staycation [Ban, Kato]

Ban watched silently as the children played and Kato teased a child with his byukaugan. She found it amusing Kato playing with the kids. But it was quickly over when Yumjei called the group over to the next activity, the Mizukage monument. It was a place Ban was familiar with. Ban idolized the previous Mizukage and the only thing left of him was his legacy. 

The group toured the monument, getting a history lesson from the group leader about its history and Kiri's history. Ban was familiar with history already, so she didn't pay much attention. She did notice Mutara looking attentively at the monument. Mut was a newcomer, so it made sense that she didn't know as much as Ban. The genin asked what it was like when the Kage was around. Ban took a fresh breath of air in. "It was great. The Leviathan was a powerful man. Brutal too. He wouldn't let any nation look down at Kiri." Ban looked out to the vast sea beyond as she continued. "My parents gave their lives for this village at that Kage- he was that great." Ban looked back at Mutara. "Sometimes I wish he were still around so I could meet him. Protecting the village by his side was my dream." Ban smiled as she recalled, but the smile faded as she was faced with reality. "Luckily, we are still around to keep his, and our, Kiri alive." Ban continued down the rest of the monument area, allowing Kato to add anything he wanted to add. 

Ban had been drawn to the flame of Xyxer when she was training in the academy. They were blood as well- both coming from the Hozuki clan. Her family taught her the importance of serving the village and the Kage all her life as the new Kiri was still new. It was driven into her from a young age, allowing her powerful and impervious personality to build around it.

Murata, approved

The remainder of the week passes uneventfully. While quite boisterous, the group of tourists pose little issues, and are overall well-behaved. Much of that is simply the presence of Yumeji, who appears to be quite good at corralling people - something necessary to rise to Jounin rank, Murata guesses, given the associated team leadership responsibilities. Almost as well-behaved is Princess, who cooperates in the team's goal of leaving the hotel room as clean as they'd found it, but complains loudly in Murata's arms at being picked up when it is time to leave.

The rest of the week went by without much incident. Ban held it together for the entire week with getting extremely bored with the mission. But she was extremely relieved to be back home at the end of it all and on her own bed. She hoped that she would never be given a mission like that again.
