The Drunk Doctor Rises
Thu Dec 03, 2020 8:18 pm
Some days had passed since Ichigo came in possession of the body of Volt Uchiha, or at least what was left of it. Ever since that day, the Drunk had been wondering what to do with it. However, part of him knew all too well what awaited him. The scroll containing the remains of a person unknown to Ichigo was gifted to him by his friend Noboru Kaito, the man who he shared a lot of similarities with. Whereas both men lacked the natural talent for ninjutsu, they made up for it by their impressive physique. Perhaps the reason as to why the two of them didn't possess the natural gifts most people do could be found in the fact that Ichigo and Kaito weren't part of any prominent clan and went through life as the so called "clanless".
Whether or not they believed their fate as one of them was doomed would be for Ichigo and Kaito to decide. Regardless, both men knew they couldn't simply accept it. It was the red haired Jounin who taught Ichigo to keep believing in his own worth, even though he didn't have the same powers granted by a bloodline or some magical eyeballs as Kaito liked to call them. A couple of days ago the redhead explained, even though not born into a clan, there were certain ways where one could get some of their powers. One of those ways being transplants, where you basically use DNA to gain their kekkei genkai. Noboru briefly informed the Drunk he underwent one of those transplants as he had the left eye of a Sharingan implanted into him.
Even though he didn't possess the complete knowledge on the matter, Ichigo got the information necessary for the procedure from Kaito. Of course it did help that the Drunk was trained in Medical Ninjutsu and was above average in said field. But what many didn't know, was the fact that he spent the last couple of days accompanying one of the surgeons in the hospital to improve his skills and to find out everything he needed to perform surgery, on others but on himself as well. By following some of the doctors around on a typical day, he gained more than enough knowledge with as result that Ichigo now was fully prepared to try his hands on transplanting parts of a body.
Over the course of him spending time with them, Ichigo was able to form multiple bonds and build trust between one another, which would in turn pay off since they gave him permission to use one of the operating rooms for the day. Which is where he was right now, sitting in an empty room all on his own, preparing to perform surgery on himself. Nervous but ready to begin the procedure Ichigo took deep breaths as he went over all the different steps once more before he'd begin. After a couple of seconds he'd get up, walk over to the table where the materials were, opening the scroll containing the body of the person whose eye would be transplanted into his own socket. Forming the necessary hand seals to perform the Chakra Anesthetic technique in order to ease the unavoidable pain. Channeling his chakra to his fingertips as five blue flames appeared.
Ichigo would then place his fingers on his own chest, allowing the technique to do its job. Slow but steady he started to feel the effects as chakra was injected into his nervous system. He'd then place his fingers in the right eye socket of the lifeless body before it would come out with a popping sound. "I guess that was the easy part" he thought out loud while looking at the eye on top of his palm. Whereas he successfully removed the first, he now had to take out his own. Repeating the same course of actions Ichigo then pulled out his own right eye which he placed on the table nearby. The Drunk would proceed by forming the hand seals for the Mystical Palm technique, his hands glowing a gentle shade of green.
Taking the right eye which he needed before gently inserting it into the now empty socket. The healing energy of his jutsu would mend the damaged tissue, forming connections to the new eyeball without any difficulties. Ichigo wouldn't end the technique before making sure he was actually able to see through his new eye that once belonged to a person he never knew. The Drunk continued to heal until he believed the process to be complete and when he deemed himself ready to test if everything worked as it should. Walking over, standing in front of the mirror before opening his right eye. The crimson hue of the Two Tomoe Sharingan appeared, a feeling undescribable came over Ichigo upon witnessing it for the first time.
Blinking a couple of times to see if what he saw was real, coming to the conclusion it was. For the next couple of minutes he would simply stand there, looking at his eye that took the appearance of the Sharingan. Technically it wasn't his own eye, but at least it still felt like it now belonged to him. Waiting for the effects of the Chakra Anesthetic to wear off he would clean up before going home. He had a lot to do, a lot to study. A new chapter would begin.
