Gonk was a kid who knew his strengths and weaknesses, and recognized that negotiating wasn’t one of his strong suites. So he let Travin do all the talking, and merely sat and watched, making sure nothing went south. Unlike Travin, Gonk decided to sip on his drink while he observed. He figured a tiny bit of intoxication wouldn’t interfere with his ability to kill people. Luckily the negotiations went smoothly and were short, all things considered. After the small talk and pleasantry was over Travin and the woman named Shina got right down to business, Travin wasted no time in haggling but instead put up his flat offer of the full 60,000 ryo. Fortunately, Shina accepted the offer and immediately signed the papers for Kita’s release and handed them to Travin, also telling the two boys where they could find Kita.
“I can go get him,” Gonk said to Travin, feeling slightly bad he couldn’t have been of more help negotiating Kita’s release. ”Why don’t you get our stuff and round up the rest of the Kiri team so we can go straight home.”
With their audience finished, Gonk followed Travin out of the office and Unseen University, then turned and headed towards Books Bodyparts and Beyond, hoping he would find Kita there as promised.
