File Organization (Mission Arc, Part 1) Empty File Organization (Mission Arc, Part 1)

Thu Jul 15, 2021 6:20 pm
Mission: File Organization
Participating Shinobi: Uchiha, Shiroyasha
Prologue: A Day in the Life
The Uchiha priest in training woke up early. There was an important chore to be taken care of on the Temple mountain. The rain had been heavy lately and down streams were flooding the temple grounds. Aside from the dead bodies buried in the ground, there was a wide variety of rare trees and birds to protect from the floods.

Shiroyasha feasted on a healthy helping of egg fried rice, his favorite breakfast, and ironed his robes. Before tending to the flooding by building dams, the young man would perform worship to his goddes Aiya. Shiro wore his nice red and black robe, the insignia of Ho-Musubi embroidered with golden foil around his left shoulder. Carrying his sacred staff on his back, Shiro entered the temple

Knocking on the insides then bowing, Shiro proceeded to enter the door. He carried a jug of fresh cream, chilled. Shiro bowed, his hood covering his slate gray hair. Setting the down and getting on his knees, Shiroyasha recited the sacred Morning prayer of Ho-Musubi. He prayed that Aiya protected his spirit fire on his adventures, and that her wisdom would reveal great beauties to him. Shiro poured the cream over Aiya's statue, and left the temple.

Feeling clear headed and full of prosperity Shiro stepped outside into the rain. To direct the inevitable downpours from the Temple, he would have to cut some spruce trees down and build small dams. The process took him all day, and he wasn't able to get into Hoshigakure by night time. Planning to make his way into town the next day, Shiroyasha went to be early. He was exhausted, and the Uchiha needed his rest.

Part 1: An Arduous Task

Waking up just as early as the day before, Shiro repeated his daily task. Despite the constant rain, his dams were holding up. The young man decided today would be the perfect day to work and made his way into Hoshi. Wearing a black coat, and wielding his lance the Uchiha entered Hoshigakure with an umbrella.

Sure to close it before he got inside where he could get someone wet or make a slick spot, Shiro entered the Mission office. The woman at the desk handed him a catalogue of paid C Rank missions.

Shiroyasha was a hard worker and to maintain his nearly perfect track record of daily adherence to shinobi code, the Uchiha had taken it upon himself to accept this mission despite its seemingly uneventful contents.

The Kozai Yuki Archives were being selectively moved across the country,  and a trustful group of shinobi were trusted with the task. The Acadamy was offering study to country folk capable of chakra control, and the Archives were selected to keep track of all the records. A highly charitable offering by Hoshigakure, Shiro was proud to be a part of it. He signed up for the team, and after waiting for a few hours in the reception room he was finally taken back by the woman to a jounin named Aku.

Attending mission briefing with the team coordinator Aku, Shiroyasha met two genins who were also taking the mission upon themselves. These two remarkably unremarkable males would travel across the country and rendezvous with Shiroyasha. They were brothers, and full of snickers as they whispered while Aku instructed the three.

The two brothers would travel ahead, securing the teams path. The Uchiha priest was dedicated to guarding the researchers as they traveled to a new compound with jutsu scrolls. The Uchiha would be joining together with a Chuunin team lead who had yet to reveal herself. The group was to timely join together by the large city of Gizashiri. North of the city was a landmark bridge where the two groups would recieve the scrolls safely in a sealed container, and the relocate them to a new compound.

The route was determined relatively safe for each party that were to travel. There were notable mercenary bands of samurai that roamed around the hills but other than that it would be safe. Aku warned the group of the samurai's Total Breath Concentration.

The two male genin appeared to be brothers, with the same sort of scraggly black hair. Kazuhiro had a mustache and Shimeru wore steel gauntlets with chains attached. Both of the teens had filth attached to their skin and quite an odor to them. Shiroyasha a proud and well groomed Uchiha, stood a noticeable distance from them as a jounin gave them their instructions.

Suddenly the door slammed open, and the Chuunin team leader arrived. Loudly, Aimi introduced herself. She was wearing a skirt and had a short staff. Her chest was revealed by fish nets, and Shiro couldnt help but blush when he saw her.

After the jounin recapped official directions and gave the team their own copy of coded details regarding the path they would separately travel, he left Aimi with her team.

Shiroyasha remained standing as the two brothers sat and introduced themselves. They told the team about their skills which were mostly based on close range combat. Aimi was a staff user, with a specialty using Suiton. The brothers were aggressively chasing Aimis skirt, and Shiro ignored the two of them. As well Aimi was a simpleton, so he seemed to overlook a lot of her uwu-ing while she described her goals for the team.

As the group talked Shiroyasha waited for his moment to chime in. He felt out of place, with the dirty teenagers being cut from a different cloth. Aimi was particularly interested in them, and clearly promiscuous. Her interest in the brothers was genuinely odd and for what Shiro couldnt decipher. Usually friendly, Shiro kept to himself and only spoke when spoken to. He wasn't particularly thrilled with his compant.

Aimi was particularly attractive but that was a shallow take on her. She didn't strike the Uchiha as a leader. The brothers paid Shiro no mind as the three agreed upon a timeline for the journey and exchanged goodbyes.

The two brothers left to clear the trails of potential threats. Shiro and Aimi left seperately, according to Aimis command. Shiro was to meet her at the Archives current home in Hoshi, after sending a messenger bird to Gizashiri confirming the mission being carried out and detailing the timeline.

Shiroyasha's family owned a nest where messenger crows lived, and taking it upon himself the Uchiha sent a crow with the message. The process took less time than expected by his team lead, with Shiroyasha living close to the gates of Hoshigakure where him and Aimi had separated. The Uchiha lad dashed speedily through the city streets towards where he was to meet Aimi. He was eager to begin the arduous task that would be organizing the scrolls. Getting it over was ideal, and getting away from his team was even better.

Part 2: The Team at the Gates
When he arrived Shiro was informed that Aimi had yet to arrive. Shiro grumpily muttered to himself, having noted that the young woman seemed distracted by boys. Shiroyasha wondered what she was doing anyways, and scratched the back of his head. The researcher of Kozai Yuki Archives coughed awkwardly, and carried on with instruction for Shiro. The Genin was to select certain E and C rank scrolls from the Katon library, all of which pertained to heat creation rather than fire. There were recorded to be 57 different scrolls, and once he retrieved them all from the hallways where the scrolls were kept, Shiro was to carry them in a basket across Hoshigakure. From there the scrolls would be sealed inside of a cement container for travel.

Shiroyasha sighed, not thrilled with having to do so much work alone. He expected Aimi or the brothers would have helped, but the two boys had presumably left Hoshi already; and Aimi was nowhere to be found. Shiroyasha wasn't lazy, and as a dedicated scribe of Ho-Musubi he took it upon himself to do a great job. Four hours passed by, and eventually the Uchiha had found every scroll. He put all fifty seven into a woven wicker basket, and headed to the exit where an alleyway provided discreet passage.

To Shiroyasha's surprise, Aimi was just arriving for work. The Chuunins long hair was crumpled in the back, and she was wearing new clothes. Shiro rolled his eyes; skeptically figuring that she was just waiting for him to do all the work, Shiro said nothing about her bed head as he headed for the door. "What a drag," Shiro thought to himself and kicked the front door open. Aimi cried out for help before he left, and dismally the Uchiha turned around with basket in hand.

Shiro was informed by her that Aimi had been seeing off the brothers exit. Shiro didn't care so much. She had been given direction by the researchers to collect a select group of scrolls that were variously arranged. She asked Shiroyasha for help, and reluctantly the Genin agreed. He dropped the basket and the two began scurrying around.

Shiro remained quiet, and Aimi was too. He wondered why she didnt seem to like him, but paid it no mind. "Work relationships," Shiro whispered to himself, thinking absently while he searched for a Raiton jutsu scroll. Putting it in a basket, Shiro had found the pairs last scroll. Aimi agreed to carry the lighter basket, with only eight scrolls inside. They silently transferred the scrolls through the streets.

The scrolls were counted without error and sealed inside of a container. The wooden box was marked with an A Ranked Fuuinjutsu, supplied by the jounin who was in charge of their mission. The two were commanded to begin their travels in the morning, and separated for their homes.

Around five am Shiroyasha's crow returned, with an encrypted message that confirmed the brothers had been to the destination city and all precautions had been taken. The road was marked safe, and Shiro prepared for the two day long journey. Supplied with food pills for sustenance, Shiro carried little. His trademarked lance was retracted fully and strapped to his back. Wearing his Hoshigakure no Sato headband, the Uchiha headed to the village gates to meet Aimi.

Part 2: The Road to Gizashiri
Wearing his favorite jacket Shiroyasha waited patiently for Aimi. He twirled his staff around playfully, deep breathing while he reminisced about the morning. Waking up early to eat and pray, the Uchiha was particularly excited for the day to begin.

The Archives members arrived, three young men each carrying one of the sealed containers. The paper tags were coated in wax, and the three young men talked amongst themselves while Shiro waited. Most in the village knew Shiro was an up and coming priest. Being ignored was the mildest negative attention he recieved, despite being much less zealous than other priests had been.

Aimi arrived shortly after the researchers, and Shiro bsd to once again stomach men fauning over the Chuunin. Taking the initiative be interrupted a man cimokimsnting Aimis blouse. The Uchiha called out to the whole group, "Let's go!" He retracted his staff by turning a golden plate near the middle. Swinging it around his head Shiroyasha led them out.

Despite being the official leader of the trip, Aimi was quiet. She seemed to be focused on potential threats, and led the caboose. Protecting the rear side of the researchers, Aimi was quite a distance from Shiro as he darted to and fro the roadside while searching for predators.

After a lunch break, to which Shiro ate a food pill and scouted ahead, the group continued on. They were within 12 hours from the bridge where the rest of their squad would rendezvous, when a giant boar was spotted don the roadside. Shiro singled for the group to stop.

Standing inside of a tree Shiro drew his retracted lance and watched the boar for a moment. Aimi corrales the researchers in a group, protecting them with Water Imprisonment Jutsu. Shuro stalked the boar, watching it eat at a giant mushroom growing in the road. The beast furrowed the mushroom up, and took a bite. While it was chewing Shiro attacked.

Weaving together handsigns for the Great Fireball Jutsy, Shiro channeled his chakra for the technique. He inhaled deeply, and drew his pressed fingertips to his mouth. Exhaling through his fingers like a straw, the Uchiha spit forward a fireball at the hind side of the boar. The explosion was large, and the beasts fur lit fire. The smell of pork filled the air, and the boar ran off.

Aside from that the trip was unremarkable, and the crew arrived on time. The two brothers traded the container, and proceeded to Gizashiri alone. Shiro led the researchers back to Hoshigakure, with Aimi acting as the lead. After a night of rest the researchers were guided back home.

Shiroyasha spent the night awake, with Aimi sleeping. He watched the roadside, wary of any samurai or boars. There were even rumors of giant anaconda that lurked the roads in search of turtles. Despite finding a turtle, there was no danger that night. Shiroyasha was given the opportunity to thankfully perform the Ho-Musubi Ritual Prayers, and he held a small cross shaped symbol in his hand while he silently spoke to his goddess.

Shiro hoped to return home soon, and as the sun arose he woke the group as well. Aimi was the hardest to get up, but after sitting next to her tent for thirty minutes and repeating her name, Shiro was able to lead the rest of the mission. He walked with Aimi at the helmet, and talked with the researchers. They were curious on who the Archives had directed to meet with the brothers and exchange the scrolls.

While Aku the jounin had briefed them, he mentioned a popular philosophist of the Archives was in charge of providing access to the scrolls among Gizashiri citizens. Shiro held his tongue, and noted curiously that the researchers must have had a reason why they didnt know this in the detail he did;  as they talked amongst themselves while traveling and commenting on the researchers Shimeru and Kazuhiro were to deliver the containers to.

After another six hour long trip, the team arrived in the late afternoon at the village gates. Aku was there to meet them, Aimi having sent a messenger fox ahead of them with the details of their mission completion. After providing the two team mates with a written slip of approval, he instructed them to the Mission Directory office to recieve their rewards.

Curiously, Aku went onto the road afterwards, unclear of where he was going. Shiroyasha wondered if he was involved with the efforts in Gizashiri to work with the Hoshigakure centered Kozai Yuki Archives, but went forward to complete his mission regardless of his curiosity. Him and Aimi arrived at the same time and were awarded a modest sum of Ryo.

Epilogue: Missing Scrolls
After heading home and performing a sacrificial offering to Aiya, Shiroyasha lay awake in bed. He wondered if the two boys had completed their end of the mission. Deciding to investigate their success Shiro planned to meet with them at the Mission  office.

The Uchiha woke early, fulfilling his duties as a priest and leading the fire of their temple with dried wood. After cleaning up, and washing the sweat off his body, Shiro headed to Hoshi where the two brothers were expected to recieve their reward. Shiro waited for a few hours, and they never arrived. He queried if they were heard from, to no avail. So he waited longer.

The mustachioed brother Kazuhiro arrived alone. Looking just as rancid, the brother accepted his reward. Shiro stood up as Kazuhuro turned back to the door, and said hello. Kazuhiro waved at him and tried to smile. "Hey, Shuri." The brother stammered, clearly trying to recall Shiroyasha's name.

"So, how'd it go?" Shiroyasha spoke blandly, ignoring politeness and holding his sleeve to his nose while he spoke.

Kazuhiro tucked his hands in his pockets and said quietly, "Instructor Hei from Hoshigakure delivered the scrolls. We saw Aku on the way home, and he asked to recruit one of us for the Archives. Shimaru offered.. so yeah." It was clear Kazuhiro didnt quite understand something of his encounter with Aku.

The mustache wearing Genin stood there, pooking Shiro directly in the eyes. Shiro shrugged, feigning disinterest then held up a peace sign with his fingers. The stinky Genin walked away, leaving Shiro to contemplate how his mission had ended.

Ultimately the Uchiha couldn't figure out why Aku chose Shimeru for their work. He could have asked Shiro or Aimi at the gates, but went alone. Hei was one of Shiros instructors as a youth, and had always shared his dreams about teaching ninjutsu to the less fortunate. Shiroyasha was thankful to have helped him, but why Aku traveled alone was odd.

Shiro continued his business, and after a long day of chasing chickens back into their fencing he went home. At nearly midnight, police banged on the temple doors. Shiroyasha answered them, and was questioned about the missing scrolls. The Archives filed a report some of them had gone missing in between Hoshigakure and Gizashiri.

Shiro went to the police station, where all of the party involved, except for Shimeru and Aku, were gathered. After Shiro, Aimi, and the three researchers who traveled with the two ninja were cleared of suspicion, it was determined the seal must had been breached before entering the gates of Gizashiri.

Shimeru and Kazuhiro were still under investigation, being the only two aware of who the scrolls were passed to in Gizashiri.

Shiro told authorities that Aku had traveled unusually alone on the road Gizashiri to meet with the brothers supposedly, and that Kazuhiro claimed he recruited Shimaru to help Gizashiri allocate the scrolls at the Archives request. According to Aku the Archives had recruited an instructor of the Hoshi Acadamy named Hei to allocate the scrolls.

The Archives representatives knew nothing of Hei or Aku being apart of the scrolls use in Gizashiri, and sent a pigeon to Gizashiri to question their plans with the scrolls. After waiting six hours, the pigeon returned. The Archives in Gizashiri claimed to know nothing of Hei and Aku being involved. As well upon investigating the team that was to acquire the scrolls from Kazuhiro and Shimeru, it was determined that they were advised by a Hoshigakure senior ninja that he was to bring them the scrolls.

This ninja was marked as Hei.

Hei was declared a missing nin, and it was unclear why Aku had recruited Shimeru. A team of black OPS were sent to Gizashiri to apprehend Hei, and to Shiros delight Aku had been suspicious of him from the start. Upon catching up with Shimeru and Aku, it was determined by the black ops that they were following Hei. Aku had noticed him spying on their briefing, and suspected someone was after his team.
After apprehending Hei in Gizashiri, he revealed some details of his plot and had stolen some of the scrolls in Hoshigakure. Seeking to empower the nation, he sold them to samurai, a plot Aku discovered while questioning Hoshi Archivists about the plans for Gizashiri after his team had departed.  Aku discovered that Hei infiltrated the Hoshi Archives and was disguised as the archivist who instructed Shiro. While he alone searched for the bogus list of scrolls, Hei stole and replaced Shiroyasha's basket with another.

Aku kept this secret since Hei was a trusted instructor.

Shiro was furious at being deceived by his former teacher, and vowed to bring the scrolls back. However he would have to wait, as Hei wouldnt tell who had bought them from him. The black ops torture team would wrangle the information from him, and Shiro waited patiently.
