Bloodworks Duo 1[Hunter, Shin] Empty Bloodworks Duo 1[Hunter, Shin]

https://www.narutoroleplaygame.com/t49447-bloodworks-pit-dog-duos

Enrai was a bit excited, but also pretty nervous, as he was currently in a long tunnel. At the end of the tunnel was a large archway that was currently covered by a barred portcullis, preventing them from walking any further. Beside Enrai was Shin, his new friend that had been going on missions with him. He appreciated his friend’s assistance so far, especially because he was one of the few visitors in the village that had the ability to simply take the village’s missions. IT was really nice that the man had brought him along a couple of times. Now, this was something that anyone could do as long as they were willing to risk their own lives. Currently they were about to fight a couple of criminals to the death, and so Enrai looked over to his partner and nodded.

Enrai walked forward to the portcullis, and soon there was someone that yelled out, followed by thunderous applause by the people watching. “Ladies and gentlemen, are you ready for blood?” the announcer would say, before the portcullis lifted up. Enrai was there, and soon he stepped out into the bright sun and golden sands of the arena, looking around. He had seen this arena before, but he was not inside of it like he was now, and it seemed a lot bigger on the inside. Two hundred meters away from him, the other portcullis would also lift at the same time, revealing the two people that they would fight. Enrai and Shin were partners that came out of the north archway, meaning the opponents would come out of the south.

The arena was a perfect one hundred radius circle, with them being on the outer edges. The walls surrounding the outside of the circle were twenty five meters tall, and beyond that were the series of seating for the crowds. Enrai had walked and stood five meters away from the wall, and looked at the floor. It was just a large empty area that was filled with some sand, with the sand making up two meters of the floor before there was compacted dirt thirty meters down, before it was solid rock. Enrai was also three meters away from the center of the portcullis, off to the west, which was his right. “Let the games, begin!” the announcer would yell, and then the crowd screamed even louder than before, and this noted the official start to the blood games.

Bloodworks Duo 1[Hunter, Shin] Empty Re: Bloodworks Duo 1[Hunter, Shin]

Tue Aug 10, 2021 1:42 am
The rather imposing form of Shin could be seen walking down the dark tunnel of The Bloodworks, a feral grin on his face as he and his duos partner made their way towards what he hoped would be a glorious fight. Anyone that knew him would find this strange, because Shin usually avoided true fights like the plague, much preferring to get the drop on his opponents and end them before they could actually start to fight back… but he was eager to test himself now that he had truly began to focus on the Shinobi side of life. He was stronger now… far stronger than he had ever been, and he needed a test to see just how that strength matched up to others… so he figured this would be the best bet.

He had chosen to try this out first with Enrai rather than Hoori, because as per usual Hoori was taking his sweet time with his training and had fallen a bit behind in the strength department. Shin didn’t hold it against him, nor did he lose any respect for his partner, the two had worked together for years after-all and Shin knew full well that the man preferred to take his time and enjoy himself more than he cared about gaining strength. Enrai, on the other hand, had proved himself to be a fairly powerful shinobi in his own right, and Shin had gained a fair amount of respect for the man over the course of all the missions they had done together.

Shin would note the small nod from Enrai, and his manic grin would widen just a little further as he turned to face the man and returned the gesture… oh yes, this would be a fun fight… for them, he almost felt sorry for the fools that were about to meet their end at their hands. As the pair of them stepped out into the sunlight The Assassin would find himself facing their opponents, so far out that even his Byakugan wouldn’t be able to make them out well unless he focussed. That was fine, he was more than content to let the opposing duo close the distance. Enrai was standing 3m to the west of the centre of the portcullis, while Shin stood 3m to the east of the centre of the portcullis, putting Enrai 6m to his left.

“Hehehehe… I’ll admit, I usually try to avoid actual fights like the plague… but there is something about this that has me quite excited. Maybe it’s because this is the first real test of my abilities that I’ve had in a long time, or maybe it’s because I’ve grown so much in terms of strength since I arrived in Suna… but regardless of why, I think this is going to be the most fun I’ve had in quite some time.” The Hyuuga would say aloud, his manic grin having given way to a calculating smirk as he continued to stare straight ahead. His inactive Byakugan would still allow him to see Enrai clearly, and he knew the man could hear him perfectly well.

“Let’s give 'em hell… I wanna show these people what a pair of true Missing-Nin are capable of when they work together.” He would then declare, his smirk growing a little larger and displaying his rather prominent canines. The Assassin knew full well that they were still weak by Shinobi standards, but that was to be expected… this was simply the beginning of their journey, and the blood that they were about to spill would truly mark the start of something great.

Bloodworks Duo 1[Hunter, Shin] Empty Re: Bloodworks Duo 1[Hunter, Shin]

Tiburón Hoshigaki's Stats:

Akula Hoshigaki's Stats:

Tiburón and Akula Hoshigaki stepped forth from their corner of the ring to the sound of roaring applause. They stared, almost blank-faced at the crowds surrounding them for a moment before their eyes settled in unison on the tiny dots on the other end of the ring. Their opponents they presumed. Akula almost felt bad for them, fully confident in her victory over the opposing pair. She and her brother had come a long way since they had escaped from the monastery that had raised them, mastering their jutsu and techniques through their endeavors as amateur rogue shinobi. Now, they had stolen and pilfered enough jutsu to fight, and hopefully win in the Bloodworks Arena.

The two of them were a bit of a strange duo. One man and one woman, both of them were rather short individuals, being only a meter and a half in height. They were adorned in matching outfits of monk robes, wooden bead necklaces, and shaved heads. Yet it was their blue skin that was their most interesting feature, paired with bloodshot fish eyes and pointed teeth. It was quite evident as to which clan the two belonged to.

The girl, Akula, turned to her brother with a toothy grin.

"I believe it's about time that we fight for our glory, isn't it brother?"

The man, Tiburón, nodded solemnly.

"I believe it is."

The two began to run calmly at a speed of 55 each along the arena floor, mirroring their opponent's position 6 meters apart from one another. Akula was located to the right of the two, directly in front of the one called Enrai. To the left was Tiburón, directly in front of the one called Shin. Should their opponents remain in place, the two would continue their leisurely run until they were 25 meters away, provided that their opponents made no movements or attempts at jutsu. Should that occur, the two would stop for a moment to alter their plan of action accordingly.

Bloodworks Duo 1[Hunter, Shin] Empty Re: Bloodworks Duo 1[Hunter, Shin]

Fri Aug 13, 2021 6:17 am
Enrai watched as they had stopped after walking into the arena, and looked far at their opponents. It seemed that the opponents were talking, and their opponents, now more in view, were both blue. Not in the traditional sense of feeling down, no, more of the literal sense of their skin being blue in color. Enrai would make a note of this, then note that they were simply running towards them at a brisk pace. He wondered if that was their full speed sprint, but he would always assume that it was not their full speed, as it would be rather dumb to show your full speed immediately if it was going to be a big factor in a fight. In such an arena where there was a large open space for them to run around in, it was a pretty big factor.

Enrai glanced over at his partner and simply started talking, asking a question. The opponents were still so far away that they would not even see Enrai’s mouth moving, nor would they hear him over the crowd, unless they had superhuman senses. “It looks like they’re just running straight at us. Should we just sit here and let them run for a bit? See anything on them or have a strategy?” Enrai would question his partner, glancing back and forth between his partner and the opponents, watching them get closer and closer. Enrai was not really sure what the strategy of the opponents were, as he could not see if they were holding anything, not yet at least, and it was not like he got an overview of their abilities or anything before hand, so he would ask his partner.

He knew his partner had the Byakugan at this point, and the mission with the well taught him that the eyes could see even on a microscopic level and through solid objects, so he felt that his partner would know more than him, and be able to tell him what their overall strategy would be. It would be pretty easy to tell that one of them was a weapon user by seeing they had a weapon or so, while the other one was some sort of caster, although he was unsure if his partner could tell him what kind, he had no idea how in depth the Byakugan truly was, so all he would do is sit still and wait, figuring out how to proceed when his partner gave him more information. He would still be ready to spring into action whenever, but felt like it was wise to get more information first.

Bloodworks Duo 1[Hunter, Shin] Empty Re: Bloodworks Duo 1[Hunter, Shin]

Fri Aug 13, 2021 7:02 am
Shin, who was simply standing with his hands at his side when his opponents entered the arena, would adjust his stance a little to spread his legs just a tad further, and he would proceed to move both of his hands behind his back. His opponents were well over 190m from their current position, so there was no way either of them would notice such a minute shift in his movement. Hell, he could make out nothing of them even with his Byakugan, save the fact that they had some strange blue skin. He wouldn’t even glance Enrai’s way as the man began to speak, and his grin would widen just a little further as he too took note of the fact that their opponents were running at them.

“Yea, hold tight and let ‘em get a bit closer. I don’t think either of us have the types of techniques that are effective at this kind of range… and I’ve got a nasty little surprise for 'em if they get too close, one that’ll end this fight quite quickly.” He would explain calmly, forming hand seals slowly behind his back so as not to alert either of his opponents of what he was doing, although really, with them still being over 100m from his position he wasn’t too concerned. Shin would hold fast as the two got closer and closer, knowing that the technique he had in mind wasn’t one he could use too early if he wanted to be able to follow up properly. When the two reached the 30m mark he would strike, activating his Singularity roughly 19.8m ahead of him, and 3m to the left… forming it almost exactly 20m from his current position and exactly between the two approaching enemies. The technique in question would form near instantaneously and would begin to ‘spread’ outwards, having no true visible effects, although with his Byakugan Shin was able to see the dome of chakra as it spread out.

Assuming the two did indeed stay on their current course at their current speeds they would find themselves immobilised by Shin’s Singularity 27.25m from the positions of Shin and Enrai. If this did indeed happen The Assassin would raise a thin black brow and begin speaking to his partner.

“Well well… they ran right into it. Speaking of, I’d suggest you take a step back to avoid you being trapped by the technique as well, if might JUST manage to touch you, so even a single step back should suffice.” The Missing-Nin would say with a light chuckle, not bothering to step back himself as he knew he was immune to the effects of this one

"Well... They’re immobilised, would you care to finish them?” He would ask, his feral grin growing ever so slightly larger as he stared at his helpless prey.

If, of course, this didn’t happen Shin would simply watch and wait, eyeing the two with an uneasy intensity.

Bloodworks Duo 1[Hunter, Shin] Empty Re: Bloodworks Duo 1[Hunter, Shin]

Mon Aug 16, 2021 12:57 am
An Addendum:

Akula and Tiburón slowly worked their way across the harsh sand of the bloodworks arena towards their opponents, who still remained motionless towards their gate. Akula found it a bit odd, though she was familiar with the tactic. Lead your opponent to you and all that. That didn't make it any less irritating however, especially considering the size of the arena. 200 meters in diameter. Who needed an arena that big? These people came for a fight! Not a track meet!

Tiburón didn't seem quite as bothered as his sister. Akula never said it aloud, but the man wasn't very bright. He was far braver than his sister admittedly, though she had to wonder whether that was out of genuine courage or simply a matter of lacking the brain function necessary to process fear. Akula sighed. Maybe after this was over, she could use some of their stolen money to buy her brother a tutor.

Finally, they started to cross the massive gap between the two groups. The grin started to return to Akula's face when she noticed it. It was still relatively early in the morning, and the sun above was just peeking over the tip of the eastern wall. Its golden hue spilled out into the sand below, casting a great swathe of blinding light over the battlefield. Yet with light came shadows. And with their opponents, they were along the northern wall, sending their shadows pointing to the west, and that brief moment, that final hand seal caught by the suns rays, was just enough to tip Akula off that something was wrong.

"Brother! It's a jutsu! Get back!"

Tiburón, while far from smart, had some grasp on the concept of language and heeded his sister's direction. The two of them each used their own methods to get back before the Singularity could reach them. Tiburón used his naturally high speed of 150 to back off 25 meters, and Akula using her Body Flicker to move back the same distance. A risky maneuver, though they were already gambling their lives.

Now the twins just had to wait and see if they were out of the woods just yet...

Bloodworks Duo 1[Hunter, Shin] Empty Re: Bloodworks Duo 1[Hunter, Shin]

Tue Aug 17, 2021 1:02 am
Enrai responded simply with a “Gotcha.” as his partner laid out his plan, saying that they should let them go ahead and just walk into their jutsu. Enrai was just going to sit and wait then, there was no reason to do anything at the moment, considering his partner was going to act first, and he was going to respond afterwards. After a bit of the people walking towards them, suddenly the two would be smashed into the ground, the front part of their bodies mashed into the sand. They might have been able to tell that a jutsu was being used with the shadows, if the two of them, Enrai and Shin specifically, were not in line with each other. They were standing in a line, meaning the sun from the east that cast their shadows would mean that their shadows would be combined into one, which would hide the actual hand seals being performed. Even if this was not the case, a small and slow movement from the shadow could not be seen from how far away they were when it activated.

The two people were now stuck in the strange space time technique that Shin had performed, and he made sure to make a note of it later, so that he did not fall for something like that in the future. Enrai immediately started weaving hand seals when his partner suggested to finish them off. He was not really going to play around with them or let them retaliate in any meaningful way, so he decided to go all out. Suddenly, a mass of hand seals were completed, and as he was weaving additional hand seals, a strange bubbled aura appeared around him, enhancing his chakra network massively. After that, the hand seals for his next jutsu was finished, his chakra network running a bit overtime as it was ready to enhance the next jutsu he performed. Finally, the last set of hand seals were completed, and suddenly a pool of dark swamp would start expanding.

This point would start expanding rapidly from three point one meters away from them, which would be twenty three meters away from himself and a bit more from his partner. The pool was in between the two on the ground in terms of east and west, and would extend to twenty two meters in radius, leaving a bit of room between the swamp and himself and Shin. This swamp would be under the other two, and as it spread to them, they would rapidly sink into the swamp, and start to suffocate. Then all they had to do was wait a little while, and this arena battle would be over. As the swamp was spreading towards him, he would back up two meters, just in case, and would motion to his partner to do the same.

Bloodworks Duo 1[Hunter, Shin] Empty Re: Bloodworks Duo 1[Hunter, Shin]

Tue Aug 17, 2021 5:52 am
Shin’s grin would turn positively feral as he watched his two opponents run directly into his Singularity, their capture being broadcast to the entire arena as their upper bodies were slammed into the ground as it continued to expand, completely engulfing their bodies and trapping them. It was truly a shame that neither of his opponents had some type of enhanced vision, as there was absolutely no way that they would have been able to see such fine details in his shadow from the 30m distance (98.42ft). The Singularity would continue to expand as Enrai went through his handseals, the technique 10m away from the duo as the silver haired man was surrounded by an almost bubbly aura of chakra. It was impressive, and it certainly made Enrai a bit more powerful, and after another lengthy series of handseals he would take note of the large chakra filled pit of mud that was forming near their opponents… Shin would hold his Singularity until each of their opponents was caught within the swamp, and as he saw the duo being pulled under he would release control of his Singularity, cancelling the technique.

Shin, with his active Byakugan, would take note of Enrai moving back a couple of metres and his signal for him to do the same, so with a simple nod The Assassin would follow his partner's lead. Assuming all of this went through Shin would simply watch his opponents be consumed by the Swamp, his Byakugan allowing him to watch their futile struggling beneath the mud. It was… neither something that made him rejoice or something that made him feel ill… it was simply life. These two were unable to fight the hand that had been dealt to them and as such, they were going to die. Shin would watch without a trace of pity or empathy, but at the same time he wouldn’t rejoice… survival of the fittest.

OOC: Claiming the hit on both of the NPC's. Unfortunately I don't believe it is possible for the NPC's to take note of such a minute detail in a shadow from such a long distance without some form of Dojutsu (30m from Shin/Enrai = 98.42ft). More than that though, as Enrai pointed out both Shin and Enrai were lined up perfectly and, as such, Enrai's own shadow would be somewhat overlapping Shin's. With these things in mind, the post of the NPC's is invalid as it would be impossible for them to actually make note of that movement, and their initial posts actions of moving until they reached the 25m mark would be what goes through. And based on that, the technique I used last post would hit them, as it was noted that unless they changed their actions they would be hit.

OOC:

Akula was frozen with a crushing weight before she even realized what had happened. Her teeth gritted under the strain, the weight of the pressure too much for her as she and her brother were driven into the sand below. She tried to yell, scream, but the pressure was so much. She felt it grind her down into the ground, the course sand grinding against her scales and getting in her eyes. And then it faded. The sand below dissolved into a soupy liquid, and Akula was forcefully sucked in. The world went black as the muck covered her vision, and she thrashed against an uncaring earth. Yet it did not yield. Akula squeezed her eyes shut, trying to block out what little muck she could. Was this the end?

Bloodworks Duo 1[Hunter, Shin] Empty Re: Bloodworks Duo 1[Hunter, Shin]

Thu Aug 19, 2021 1:47 am
Seeing his swamp suddenly drag the two people down into the depths, Enrai would not waste much time, and start walking over there. He was a bit cautious, making sure that he would be able to react to anything that the two people now struggling in the swamp would throw at him. In his cautious state, however, he would make sure his friend Shin deactivated the gravity jutsu before he walked over. He would use the surface walking technique as soon as he stepped onto the mud of the swamp, and walked over to directly above the person that would have been to his left, the ninjutsu user. Enrai looked back at Shin, contemplating something, but then shrugged, before pitch black threads exited the sole of his right foot, heading down into the swamp until it came across the body of the man. The threads would then feel around until they found his chest, and then puncture through his chest, rapidly ripping out the man’s heart.

The threads would then retreat back into his body, attaching the heart into its network, before Enrai walked over to directly above the other one before doing the same. Two additional hearts would now be in his body, and his threads had some sort of strange feeling to them, which sort of felt like they were trying to convey joy towards what happened, which was still strange to Enrai. He then walked off of the swamp, back towards Shin, as the deed was done, the two of them would simply be gone, another set of bones eventually in the arena. Enrai decided that he was not going to continue hiding the threads from his buddy Shin, because if the Byakugan was as good as he thought, Shin probably already knew about them. After grabbing the men’s hearts, he would end the swamp jutsu, which would re-solidify the ground, trapping them down there even if they could somehow live without their hearts for a bit.

“Well, are they done for?” Enrai would ask Shin, seeing as how he could probably see if they were still struggling or breathing down there. If they were, then the announcer would probably be able to tell as well, using some sort of mechanism or something in the arena, meaning that the man would suddenly shout out their victory. The crowd’s cheers would be somewhat lackluster due to the display, the two rushing them then suddenly falling into the mud, nothing exciting happened, and they did not even get to see any blood which the arena was famed for. Regardless of the lackluster performance, the two of them would be paid for winning, and given a token that could be used to enter the second stage of the works, which held stronger opponents. Enrai would then take his fight money and of course split it with Shin, before heading out of there. "Want to grab some lunch? That was sort of boring."
