Kain had awoken inside of his crappy house on his crappy bed. He was starting to hate it. He had been putting almost every penny he had made into his savings so he could start making himself a real base of operation. After all, he would not be able to start on his work and research or find Selene without one. He sat up, on the mattress that nearly touched the ground when he did it. Making it very difficult to get up off the thing, before walking over into the kitchen. He looked out the hole in his wall that he used for a window and could see the kids across the backyard playing some kind of game. With a groan, he opened the fridge and pulled out his milk carton of blood only to find out it was empty. “What the hell” he nearly yelled at himself. He hated it when he woke up without anything to drink.

He walked over and filled up his flask, and got his boots and trench coat on before walking out the house. He didn’t bother locking the door since there were enough holes in the walls it wouldn’t matter. He stopped at the garbage can at the end of the drive and turned the last of his whiskey bottle up, finishing it before tossing it in. Then lighting up a cigarette and running his hand through his air he looked up at the sun doing its damndest to break through the mists. “Not today,” he said with a chuckle to himself as he started to walk down the street. He had put some work in on the street already and most people knew to stay the hell away from him and not to touch his stuff, but there was always that one guy, and Kain was just hoping that he wouldn’t show up today. It was never a good idea to mess with him when he hadn’t had anything to eat.

Lucky for everyone no one messed with him on his way over to the meatpacking plant. Walking inside he saw the normal guy Bill he was pretty sure was his name. Handing Bill some money Bill would walk to the back and come back with the milk jug of blood for him. Kain would nod and turn around and leave. Walking out of the meatpacking plant Kain gets the idea that he could probably move here and live in the basement. It would cover all his basic needs of blood and someone without holes. Plus it’s big enough he could expand it by putting his hideout under the plant for him to do his research. The smell of the plant would hide anything he did for the most part.

Kain made it back home with enough time to have his drink and fill up his flask. Lighting up a cigarette before walking back out of the house for the mission he had today was going to be a little different. He still had Nasu as his partner for now, and for this mission, the man's eyes could be useful. Kain figured that between his monster's side and Nasu's illusions they should be able to scare the hell out of just about anyone short of a shinobi. For this mission, they would need some stealth as well as a deception for they were supposed to break into the homes of fellow shinobi and scare their family to remind them not to talk about what they hear in the houses. To Kain, it was a good idea. Nothing motivates someone to keep quiet like fear or pain.

Kain would wait for Nasu at the village gates with the directions for the first house they were to hit tonight. He would have his back against the wall and looking out for his partner.

Nasu had another mission and again it was with Kain. They had done so many missions together recently it was starting to get insane. But it didn't bother Nasu as Kain didn't seem like a bad guy. Nasu’s mission was definitely not what he was expecting. He had to go undercover to scare fellow shinobi’s families. That shouldn't be hard at all so Nasu was going to try and enjoy himself on this mission. So Nasu went to start his day the same way he always would. Nasu would start off with his normals. He went and brushed his teeth and took a shower. After he was out he went to grab all of his clean laundry. He had to go searching for his ninja gear. It took him a minute to separate all of his clothes out and grab exactly what he needed but he still got it done. Next was time for breakfast. Nasu was pretty good at cooking. He could make practically any dish he has read about. For breakfast though he doesn't always like to over do it. Today though was different. Nasu and Kain had a lot of houses they had to show up to so although he wouldn't do much for breakfast he would definitely make a good lunch. For breakfast Nasu just had a slice of toast with butter on it and then he started to make his lunch. He decided to make some food for Kain as well just in case he wanted some. Nasu would grab out all the needed ingredients. He was planning on making scrambled eggs and making them into a sandwich. Nasu grabbed out a chopping board, A knife, 4 eggs, some salt and pepper, some spring onions, some cheese, and some old bay. Old bay was one of Nasu’s favorite seasonings to put in scrambled eggs. He then started cooking. He got a bowl and a whisk and cracked the 4 eggs into the bowl. He would then whisk up the eggs to a nice consistency. He had to make sure that the yolk didn't stay together and was separated all ove covering all the egg whites. Nasu would then add in his seasoning. Nasu poured in a bit of salt and pepper. He would then also add in his favorite ingredient his old bay. He then whisked it all again to make sure the seasoning was spread out. You wouldn't want some super salty eggs and some that were bland. Nasu would then grab his shredded cheese and would put it in with the eggs as well. He then whisked it one more time to make sure everything was spread around. Then Nasu grabbed his chopping board and placed the spring onions on it. Nasu would then chop it up so that the pieces were small enough to not give off too much taste with each bite. Next Nasu would start the cooking. He would grab a spoon and a frying pan and then pour his egg mixture into it. The eggs started to cook and Nasu began going over it with the spoon. He would scrape the edges and then the center and would keep the eggs moving. It would take just a couple of minutes and then Nasu would pour in the milk to stop the eggs from cooking. Nasu would grab out 4 slices of bread and then put the eggs on 2 out of the 4 slices. Then he would add on the spring onions then put the other bread on, wrapped it up and got ready to leave.

Nasu started his walk to the mission location. Nasu and Kain were supposed to meet by the village gates. It was a bit of a walk away but ended up being fine. Nasu got there and saw Kain just leaning against a wall, probably waiting for Nasu. “Hey Kain you ready to spook some people.”

Kain had been standing against the wall for a good little bit while he waited on Nasu to show up. Who noticed him pretty quick yelling over at him as he walked up. Kain was starting to think that the kid either didn’t have another outfit or was as attached to it as he was to his trench coat. “How’s it going Nasu the mission for the day is pretty simple we got about 3 houses to hit, but before we leave we got to run over to the building over there and pick up our gear” Kain would say while pointing over to the hunter nin building.

Kain would lead the way over and open the door walking in the guy behind the counter would notice the two of them have been expecting them. “Ok, you two you got to wait till nightfall the families will be alone at that point. Where you mask and cloak and don’t harm anyone” he would tell Kain and Nasu while pulling up the gear. Kain would give him a nod before walking back out of the building. It turned out they had a full day of nothing till tonight, not what Kain had in mind but he would have to deal with it for now.

“I guess they don’t want anyone seeing us leave here with the stuff the same night that people are visited” Kain would say thinking about what the hell he was going to do with his day now. “What you going to do till nightfall” Kain would ask.

“We have to get different gear. Damn, I wanted to wear this.” Nasu followed Kain to the building. They were told to wait till nightfall before starting. They then handed Nasu and Kain a mask and cloak. It was only the morning which meant Nasu and Travin had a full day before they could even start their mission. “Well I guess if I have a free day I might go down to the training facilities. Getting in some extra training would be nice. Do you want to come with me. We could do some sparing to pass the time.”

Nasu offered to go do some training while they waited for nightfall, and since Kain didn’t really have anything to do in the meantime he agreed. He followed Nasu down to the training facility where they would start their training and probably a spar, as Kain was wanting to see just what Nasu could do and if he could count on him to be at his back without worrying that he had gotten taken out.

Once the training was done Kain and Nasu would head back into the village and get to work on their mission. Their first stop was the house of a chunin. They were to remind his wife what would happen if she talked about anything she heard in the house. Kain would go first using the surface walking jutsu to walk up the side of the house in silence and get to the house’s upper rooms. While telling Nasu to sneak in through the back and they would scare her into not talking. Kain would slide his hunter nin mask on and make sure his cloak was good and attached. Before sliding open the upper bedrooms window. Silently walking across the floor with practiced ease he made his way out the room and to the stairs where he could see her sitting on the couch watching TV.

Kain would wait to make sure that Nasu was in place before moving on and watching his back to make sure she didn’t try anything.

Nasu and Travin did decide to spar to pass the time. Nasu had some fun with it and got to see Kain’s strengths. Nasu and Kain would head back for nightfall. They were starting a mission at a fellow chunnins house. They were instructed to ensure that his wife wouldn't say anything. Kain decided that the best way to do that was a big scare. Kain had gone up the wall to start on the second floor of the building. Nasu watched as Kain had broken through one of the windows on the top floor so Nasu decided to head around the back on the first floor. That would give them the most advantages. She was still a wife of a shinobi so there are always risks involved. Nasu had no idea what skills she had and there were many chances that something could go wrong especially during a mission like this. Nasu started to put on his cloak and his hunter mask. Nasu realized he had to change it just a bit though. He took his kunai to cut out a bit more of the mask. He had to make sure that his sharingan would stand out because that would help with scaring. Most people don't actually know what the sharingan does but almost everyone knows that it's dangerous and not something to mess with. After Nasu made the holes for the eyes bigger he secured his mask and tried opening the back door. It was locked which wasn't much of a surprise but that never stopped Nasu before. He had used some of his snakes to squeeze through the bottom of the door and then they would unlock it so Nasu could then open the door freely. Nasu slowly walked inside and then closed the door behind him while trying not to make a sound. He heard the TV running in the other room so he knew exactly where she would be. Nasu also spotted Kain sitting up the stairs waiting. Nasu started to approach the woman then stopped. He decided that he wanted to do this in a fun way. Instead he jumped to the ceiling and used his surfice walking jutsu to stay up there. Nasu would get right above the woman and then say “look up.” Nasu would wait for the woman to see him. He would let the woman stare right into his eyes as he activated his sharingan. He then would jump off the ceiling right down in front of her and waited for Kain to come by his side. Nasu would follow Kains lead for this house after he already got the fun of spooking her from above anyway.

Kain shook his head as he realized that Nasu thought this was a game of some kind. Nasu just dropped from the ceiling after telling her to look up his Sharingan active and visible through his mask. Kain simply walked down the stairs “Forgive my partner for his rashness, we simply came to remind you to keep your mouth shut” Kain’s voice would be deep and dark sounding. His eyes taking on a red glow from the hunger of not feeding since this morning. “We will be leaving now, but remember that if you tell anyone what you hear from your husband or about this, we will be back” Kain then threw a kunai that landed in between the woman’s legs sticking into the couch she was still sitting on.

He then gave a nod to Nasu as the women looked down and the two would vanish to the women moving much faster than she would be able to notice. Once they were outside Kain would look to Nasu. “This is not a game we are to give a show of force and make them fear for their lives, so they know what awaits traitors.” Kain would lead the way to the next house and point at it. "You take this one it’s another woman, use your genjutsu on her, and show her what will happen if she talks. I’ll take this one its the husband of a medical shinobi. After this, we can call it for the night.” Kain would be final on this he wanted to see if Nasu had the stomach for this job, if he wasn’t able to do this Kain wasn’t sure if he would be any more than a liability on a real mission when his life was on the line.

Nasu saw the slight disappointment from Kain as he kinda of made it into a game and not just an important mission. Kains new plan was to split up and they would both take one house and then finish off for the night. Nasu was told to take the house on the left. It was the wife of another shinobi. Kain had instructed him to go in and use his genjutsu on her to show her what would happen if she spread information. “That'll be a piece of cake.” Nasu wasn't worried about this or anything but Kain seemed to want Nasu to take it seriously. Nasu walked up to the house and started to think of the best way to get in. He decided to go with what he thought was the simplest way possible. It's not like this was a mission that was stealthy. Nasu just knocked on the front door and waited for her to open it. When the door opened Nasu would just be standing there with his arms crossed. As she looked at him in fright Nasu activated his sharingan. Her just seeing a hunter shinobi showing up at her door would already scare her enough so this time it was just for the genjutsu. Nasu would activate his genjutsu and then would do exactly what Kain said. “This is just a reminder to keep not speaking about any military information shared with you by your husband. If you do, you will be handled reasonably.” Nasu would then use the genjutsu to show her exactly what would happen. Nasu had her see her house burning down as well as Nasu standing there in the same outfit with her body lying down in front of him. And he made his eyes glare bright red in this genjutsu. He would then deactivate his genjutsu and close the door to meet Kain before finishing.

Kain watched Nasu go up and knock on the door shaking his head a little he thought that this kid is too nice. He knew at that point that if he wanted to really let Nasu see how this would work he would have to let him get some blood on his hands. Being nice will only get you killed in our line of work he finished his train of thought before looking in the window on his house. The man was standing in the kitchen making a snack. When he sat it down on the coffee table and walked upstairs. Kain simply opened the window and climbed in the snack was a sandwich. Slicing his finger open with his claw Kain wrote a message on the man’s sandwich.

We are watching is all it would say in blood. Kain would then jump back out the window as he turned to see the look of horror on the man’s face as he sat down on the couch. He would then walk back over and met up with Nasu on the street. “I’m done for now I’ll probably be seeing you again soon Nasu” Kain would wave to Nasu before heading out. Their mission is done and Kain’s hunger starting to get the better of him.
