Mission

Travin was standing outside of the prison interrogation chamber waiting for his partner for this mission. He wasn’t a big fan of the place with his gray walls and dirty white floor, and he didn’t know who this guy was sitting in the room cuffed to the table. He did note that he was a middle-aged man who was balding with brown hair and ratty clothing. Travin looked over the file and so far there was very little information on the man. Except that he had some kind of knowledge of a bomb being planted in the village. However, they had not been able to get his name or any other information except that if they let him go he would tell them where the bomb was. A proposal was so crazy that no one would accept it. Mostly because if they did let him go how would he tell them, or what would stop him from doing it again.

Travin would close the file and look down the hall waiting for his partner. While they had the man in custody they also had no idea if he was working alone or with someone else. Let alone how the bomb would be detonated or what kind of damage it would cause.

Who is right? This is something that society constantly argues about.

The philosophy of society states that justice depends on the side of where you standing. Today Gael was officially assigned his first B - Rank mission there wasn't much that he had expected. Other than the criminal thought process maybe he had thought his ideas were justice, and the Kirigakure shinobi was too stubborn to understand his view.

But none of that matters right now justice side with Kirigakure No Sato because it was them who capture the individual. So it was they who control the faith and determine justice. To Gael, it didn't matter for as long as he completes his mission by any means he must become stronger.

What was the weather like? Gael Uchiha had taken note of this development as the sun peak. It was at noon, and not a single cloud was within the sky. The young genin had receives his orders to meet up with his partner. Since this was his first B - Rank mission he was sure whomever the lad was he was someone of higher rank.

Well, that is what he would like to think however, he wasn't sure about the availability of high-tier shinobi. But for this mission, he has given a partner whether the lad is of any help only time will tell. But to be brutal honest Gael as of right now didn't have much to offer in the jutsu department.

In his spare time, he has been honing his skills and keeping his jutsu arsenal under wraps so his superior won't catch wind of his development. Kirigakure no Sato has a blood history with how they deal with problems. Honestly, Gael didn't want to warrant any unnecessary to her person as he was already an Uchiha no telling how many already know of this development.

For now, he would keep to himself, and fulfill his duties as a shinobi no matter the cost. It didn't take the genin long to arrive at the Prison Interrogation Chamber. His attire was simply his traditional tan poncho that covers his upper body. Along his feet was a pair of red traditional open-toe scandals allowing his feet to breathe. His pants were standard baggy pair of black pants with two sections each with a set of three straps on each leg and shoes with two studs protruding from the toes.

Along his hands were Gael wore a pair of black, and red fingerless gloves with small protrusions where the knuckles are imprinted with his own name. On one glove it spells G - A, and on the other gloves, it had E- L. He also wears a belt embedded with the Kirigakure no Sato insignia printed on it.

The young shinobi has been walking to the chamber for several minutes now arriving at the scene it seems one man dress in jounin attire had a smirk. Maybe this mission will be a breath but that could be wrong it all comes down to the shinobi who they were about to question. The Uchiha guard was up, and he was ready for anything that life or society would throw at him. Halting his approach at his superior at the 4-meter mark he greeted him with a wave of his hand, and his first name only.

He had said," Evening I am Gael." He didn't want to stay too much he had learned that long wind conversation leaves you open, and that wasn't something he didn't want to experience.

Travin stood in the hall with his Rentei clan armor on as normal. When his partner arrived a young man wearing a poncho of all things and some pants and sandals. Travin never understood people’s fascination with sandals but he couldn’t stand the things. The man walked up to Travin keeping a respectful distance between the two of them and introduced himself as Gael. “Names Travin I’m assuming you have been briefed about this guy and the bomb he says he has planted somewhere in the village” Travin would ask the boy. Before continuing on “I don’t know if you have any experience with this kind of thing but it’s our job to get the information out of him” he would add before turning and opening the door. His eyes glowing with the deep blue light of his Seigan.

The moment the two entered the room the prisoner saw Travins eye’s and armor and immediately started to stare at the table, as sweat started to roll down the side of his face. “Good you know my clan, that will make things a little easier” Travin would tell the prisoner as he sat down in the chair across from him. “There are two ways we can do this the easy way or the hard way. Tell us what we want to know and I’ll leave you alone” Travin would tell the prisoner his tone clearly giving away the threat in his voice.

Gael Uchiha had study the man for a few seconds as the man spoke. Gael carefully combs through his words pulling out the important information in this current matter. The man starts with a simple introduction which was his name. It was Travin, and to Gael, it was an oddly simple name. Maybe his name holds some type of importance or meaning it didn't matter as of now though.

To reply to this Travin's question Gael simply nodded his head in approval confirming that he had been properly debriefed on this mission.

Not to mention every mission the village assign the Kage or a higher superior properly hand them a copy of the objective, and that is what Gael had reviewed before his arrival here. Upon the Travin second question Gael had pause for a brief 5 seconds before replying. He had said, " I will offer whatever assistance that can be of help toward this mission you have my word."

Upon Travin's confirmation of Gael's reply, the young Uchiha follow the Jounin into the facility. The long twisted halls of the prison had given Gael a lonely feeling. But that feeling didn't bother Gael his entire life he had struggled to live and survive. The law of the shinobi world is a slippery slope so in this instance, he will follow the Jounin leads in this matter.

Don't get me wrong he didn't mind getting his hands dirty it was more like his superior hold rank so he will allow him to deal with the bulk of the work. Letting out a sigh as he steps into the interrogation room with Travin. Gael allowed Travin to lead the way while he follows 4 meters behind him. He wanted to give the lad the necessary room for him to work. Upon Gael entering the room he examines the man on the opposite in of the room.

From what the young Uchiha could tell the man was definitely on edge that could be told by the sweat droplet that rolls down his cheeks. Whatever case may be upon seeing that Travin had a figure it was because of his clan.

"How cocky." Gael had thought to himself was his clan so famous that it strikes fear unto those who know of it. Well, Gael didn't know of it nor did it matter to him. In Gael eyes, all that was important was the mission, and time was of the essence.

Not to mention in his eyes the Uchiha clan is the most esteemed, and all-powerful clan within the world. History repeats itself like a cycle nearly everyone knew of his clan and the power they hold. But the real question is do they know of Travin's proclaim powerful clan? Gael hasn't heard of it he didn't even know what it is maybe he was like him an Uchiha user. But the man didn't carry himself like that Gael figure only time will tell.

Gael had lean against the walls of the room with his arm folded you can't probably tell due to his ponoch that covers his upper body his hands remain in place directly in place as he just listens to the conversation of the duo.

Travin gave the man a moment to gather his thoughts as his partner Gael walked over and stood in the corner. Giving the man a cold stare as Travin watched the man. He could tell the prisoner was getting more and more nervous as he just sat there. According to the report they have had the man in custody all day and he has been chained to the chair for the past six hours with no food or water. Thanks to his Seigan Travin was able to tell that the man was starting to get slightly dehydrated due to being able to see the water within the man’s body.

Travin calmly reached into his cloak and pulled out a bottle of ice-cold water. Twisting the cap off and taking a sip of it travin would look over to Gael. “I’m sorry wheres my manners would you like some” Travin would ask Gael. The prisoner not knowing who he was talking to as he had yet to take his eyes off the table looked up with a small bit of white foam starting to form at the corners of his mouth. He looked at Travin and their eyes met for the tiniest moment but that was all it took for Travin to catch him in his genjutsu.

The moment their eyes locked the prisoner would notice that they were no longer inside of the jail cell. In fact, the man was standing in the middle of the ocean. “Last chance tells me where the bomb is or this gets really bad for you really fast.” The man looked at Travin once more and took a deep breath before swallowing. “Very well,” Travin said into the silence. At Travins words cut off a tentacle would rise up out of the water and wrap around the man squeezing him. The man would get to experience his bones being ground to dust under the pressure. Before popping back into perfect health only to get the experience all over again. Meanwhile, Travin would be sitting in a chair on the water eating food and drinking whiskey while watching TV and laughing. The man would experience this over and over for weeks till finally, the tentacle would recede back into the water.

“Let’s start with your name now” Travin would ask the man. The prisoner was weary and falling over from the strain of standing, as Travin had not repaired his body completely this time. Looked up at Travin “My name is Jay” Travin standing up from his chair as everything vanished placing the two of them into a void. They would be floating in the nothing weightless.

“Good and where is the bomb” he would ask. The man looked up at him “I can’ tell you they will kill me” he would proclaim to Travin. He had heard this before and sometimes it was true. “Tell me what is worse staying here with me and getting to live through all the worse things I can think of, or simply dying and getting to rest in peace” Travin would tell the man. No sooner he spoke the woods and the two of them were hovering over an active volcano the lava bubbling up to touch the man’s feet as he screamed out in pain, and the chair and TV materializing back into existence. The man screaming ill tell you, I‘ll tell you.

With the man breaking the genjutsu would end and the two of them would once again be back in the interrogation chamber. For Gael, only a second would have past but for the man, it would feel as though weeks had gone by. The man snapping back into his own body gasping for air and screaming in pain at the top of his lungs. Would probably startle the young man as it would probably startle most people as it was so sudden and unexpected.

“There is a man in charge and he has a rogue shinobi working for him. They are the ones that gave me the bomb and told me where to put it. They said if I placed it in the basement of the Mizukage’s office building I would be paid 10,000 ryo and they wouldn’t have to kill me. Please just leave me alone now” the man would be begging and crying by the end.

Travin would get up and look over to Gael “did you get all of that” he would ask his partner.

Did time stand still? There was a brief pause as no one talked with the area for a few seconds. The silence was probably the only time this prisoner had some downtime. Clearly, the shinobi that sat across from Travin that was currently chained up seem better days. Looking at his clothes, skin color, and body language Gael pretty much knew that this man wouldn't have a happy ending. Honestly, Gael's policy was if you can't do the time then don't do the time.

What happens to this man didn't matter to Gael in the slightest bit. Why?

He didn't have to spell it out for you. But Kirigakure No Sato is known for brutal methods even training their academy students so he could only imagine what Travin had in store for this prisoner. The Uchiha wasn't bored yesterday so in simplest terms he watches every moment that happens within this room.

He kinda felt like a stalker of some kind however, that train of thought was interrupted by his superior who offer him a beverage. Gael had a smirk within his mind his gear turn. Gael knew this had to be a torture method maybe the good cop, and bad cop role. Whatever the case maybe he decided to follow his lead. However, before he could answer the prisoner seem to be foaming out his mouth. If he had been without water for a few days clearly it wasn't long enough because he was producing water out his mouth.

The poor bastard if he was that thirsty he would have drunk his split if he had valued his life. Honestly, this attempt on this man felt like a waste but it had to be done they had to make him talk no matter what. Letting out a sigh as he said," Sure I could use a drink." Gael had replied to Travin. However, he didn't want to drink after none family member. Who knows where his lips been the mear thought of such thing turn Gael skin inside out.

There was no reply to Gael as soon as he replied there was a short pause something was going on. Something wasn't right whatever the case is Gael stood in his same corner waiting for his orders or change of events.

Letting out a sigh as the man screams in pain. Whatever Travin did to him causes the prisoner to panic hint at the reason why he screams. The prisoner's face looks drain as he begins to speak. Gael didn't jump or shown any emotion at the outcome of the man screaming.

Instead, he carefully waited for the man to spill the beans or talked. The man did that, and some. Gael listens to what the prisoner had said combing through the sentence structure of the scared prisoner. Gael was sure to focus on information that their mission required they attain.

Upon Travin's question Gael once more Gael had replied, and said," Yes sir, I got it." Nodded his head in approval he steps out of his corner as he shuffles forward over to Travin making sure his steps were heard. Upon reaching the 2-meter mark behind Travin to the left. Gael extends his hand for the bottle of water Travin had the offer not too long ago.

If the jounin gave it to him he would take it, and move forward over to the prisoner, and empty the bottle over the man's head, and said," I hope this was worth your life. The greed for power or Ryo truly it more than that to life?" Gael's new position was now 3 meters in front of Travin, and 1 meter to the left of the prisoner. Once the bottle was empty he slams it on the table very carefully made his way back to his original position. While doing so he kept his guard up, and carefully kept his eyes on both the Jounin and the prisoner. In his experience, even your peers could turn on you. Believe me, when that time comes he will crush those who cross him.

Travin stood up with Gael who agreed that he did catch everything that was said. Travin nodded and reached back into his cloak and pulled out another bottle and handed it to Gael. He then watched as Gael poured the bottle out on top of the man’s head before slamming it down on the table. Travin gave a short sigh at the scene “That was a 20 ryo bottle of water filled from oasis out in the desert of Hoshi” Travin would tell Gael. He would then take another swig from his own bottle of water and give another sigh this time of satisfaction. “Maybe next time you can drink the water” Travin would tell Gael with a half grin as they walk out the room.

Standing outside was two guards both large men that clearly studied taijutsu as a way to make them better at their jobs. Travin waited for Gael to get out of the room and shut the door before speaking. “Give him some water and a bit of food. Then toss him in a cell once we find the bomb I’ll send word back to get the execution going.” Both guards gave Travin a nod and respectfully waited for him and Gael to walk away before getting to their work. This next part was going to be the easy part.

Travin looked to Gael “we need to let the anbu know what we found out and they can deal with the situation. I’m going to teleport over there if you want to come along grab my shoulder and” Travin would give Gael a few seconds to make up his mind. Before blasting through a few handseals and vanishing into blue light. If Gael decided to came with they would be standing inside of the anbu building surrounded by the most deadly shinobi of the village.

Immediately attention was drawn to the duo who just appeared within the building. However, on the site that it was Travin one of them spoke up telling them to go to the room down the hall and speak to the captain about what they found out. Travin would give the man a nod. Seeing that they had been expecting them and knew about his ability to teleport around the village. Inside of the room sat an older shinobi behind his desk looking over reports. Once the duo walked in he closed the file and stood up asking what they had for them.

If Gael did come with him Travin would let him give the report if he didn’t come then Travin would simply tell the man where the bomb was. Once they had finished their report the man would thank them and walk out to tell the man their job as Gael and Travin would teleport back out. This time they would be standing in the middle of town mission over. “You did good, and I’m hungry. If you like you can join me for lunch, I’ll buy” If Gael joined Travin would take him to one of the more expensive restaurants in the village for lunch and tell him to order whatever he wanted. Travins uncle owned the restaurant and owed him some money.

“That was a 20 Ryo bottle of water filled from oasis out in the desert of Hoshi.” Gael had a smirk at Travin's remark. The Jounin was right though the water wasn't cheap, and the fact he pours it over the prisoner's head was disrespectful. But the real question is would the man respect them if the shoes were on the other foot. Probably not Gael had sighed as Travin had produced a face expression along his face somewhat similar to him.

Then said," Maybe next time you can drink the water” Gael Uchiha had released a soft chuckle. Before the young Uchiha is known as Gael start his return to his position it seems like Travin was done here, and step outside the room. Sighing this place was filthy dirt on the floor and blood stains along the walls. Gael didn't want to be here in longer than he needed to.

However, before he left he did speak to the prisoner giving him some advice. This advice he gave he spoke as he left the room. He spoke in a firm tone as he had said," I don't know your name kid or story. I can't say what you did was right. I can say this the path you choose leads you here. In your future decision choose carefully. Because it is these moments of breath that you will cherish when your life flashes before your eyes."

Honestly, he couldn't say what the man did was worth death that wasn't his job. It didn't bother Gael however, he did feel the need to say his 2 cents. As he arrives at the door if it needed to be open he would open it, and step through the thrust hold. If it didn't then he would simply step through, and closed the door back. Outside there were 2 guards it seems like Gael caught them just as Travin had spoken to them.

Just in time, he heard the orders he relies upon the man which was, "Give him some water and a bit of food. He didn't say anything he just pauses the mission have been official completely well in the eyes of his superior.

But there was always that final push that you need to get that stamp of approval. After Travin had given the guards their orders he turns to address Gael as he said, " We need to let the anbu know what we found out and they can deal with the situation. I’m going to teleport over there if you want to come along grab my shoulder and." At first, Gael stood there carefully reviewing the words of the man. Teleportation is a very effective jutsu to be able to leave, and come as you please such a remarkable ability.

Maybe one day Gael himself invested his time into learning how to do that. As of now, he felt that ability was too far out of his reach so right now he focuses on the task at hand. This brief pause had ended at the 7-second mark as he attempts to extend his right hand and place it on the Jounin shoulder. After it not every day you get to see the Anbu which was his goal at the village it was that or either a hunter nin. So why not it was also the fact that the mission wasn't done, and Gael always finishes the mission to the end no matter the cost.

That was his ninja way his code to complete what he started as an Uchiha they are a quite discipline clan. It was that and he wanted to earn some face with the Jounin maybe one day this man will be able to teach him something usefully or they can exchange knowledge in the future.

Regardless none of that was important right now his body light up in a blue aura as his body dematerializes along with Travin. The teleportation jutsu was remarkable it was so fast as they reappeared at that moment Gael seems he was surrounded by several mask shinobi. Gael removed his hands slowly from Travin's shoulder as he halts any further moment. He didn't want to alarm these mask men who know how edgy they could be just waiting to cut down kid.

In the true of the matter, he didn't want to become a part of statistics or another pile of useless paperwork. Letting out a sigh as he kept his eyes trained on his surrounding. However, the Jounin known as Travin seems to know what he was doing because no one attacks them.

They even went as far as pointing them in the right direction to their superior. Gael didn't do any talking instead he allows his superior to do it for them, after all, it seems like he knows his place around here. Could this man be an Anbu member like this man? Gael wasn't too sure but he would keep this in mind. He couldn't help but remember the screaming of that man. What did the Jounin do to him that strike that much fear into the man? It looks like it was a mental attack well none of that matters right now. As Jounin gave his report to the department Gael confirm Travin's information. Now with that, the mission was officially done, and the Jounin offer him a meal.

At first, he wasn't sure if he wanted that however, he had an idea.

With Travin's last remark being about getting food the young Uchiha reply in a quick manner. He had said," Only if the meal comes with some quick training after. As it is important for me to spend my time wisely, and not wasteful because one day we could be on the opposite side of that chair.

Now that the mission was done Gael will follow the Jounin out the building if he had accepted his request. If not then he would still leave the building heading home for some quick nap than training after.
