That Damn Tea Shop
Mon Dec 13, 2021 10:30 pm
Katsuragi made his way down the lane and through the back double doors into the tea shop, passing a few stacks of crates. It was receiving day, which meant he had to do a fuck ton of inventory. Not too long ago, strolling down the the main commerce section of the village, he used to imagine himself owning business. Him running a club or such, being the man of the hour; being the man of the year. But now, looking back comparing it all tothe workhe did this week. He started to wonder if it was all worth it?
‘When the hell is Raleth coming back? This guy needs to get his shit together’, but the real question that was on his mind was, why was he still here. Did he still fear Raleth, possibly. But maybe it was more than the fear of the whip per se. Did Katsuragi, care for the gentle giant. Katsuragi never forgets, and never did he once think of Raleth as a jackboot pig like the rest of the village shinobi. It was something about him, his aura. Hell, Katsuragi even seemed to forgot about the beef.
Time passed and Katsuragi, all by himself, managed to complete not only the receiving of the goods but also kept the ship nice and stocked. He places his hands on the waist, while look into the dining area from the hollowed out kitchen window. He justed stared, aimlessly, as if he was waiting to hear a guiding voice.

He sat there, still as a board as he looked out the kitchen window. No one was here, save the random cat that always seemed to walk in at strangest of times. He used to grab a broom, shooing it away from the shoo, but today wasnt the day. The day happened to be a day of infamy. The day a few years back when Katsuragi first arrived at Pelican island.
Of all prisons, Pelican island sure fot the top three. And island build to hold some of the worlds most violent criminals, and also known for creating them too. Not all offenders shared the same weight in crime, some small others worse. There was always the joke about commiting crimes in kiri. If you steal in kiri, you’d best swim to the mainland to serve out your sentence. The “games” they used to play, in order to keep the prisoners in line.
The only good thing about the prison, was one of the heads of security. Makina, “boy did she have a rack...”, he muttered. Almost all the prisoners dreamt about her, Katsuragi included.
Still, no matter how bad hell could be, Katsuragi still found himself doing the same thing to pit food on the table. Atleast he steered clear of kiri, couldnt do a bid there again or anywhere else for that matter. “....”, he remains silent, starring at the cat once more. He tosses it a few piece of mochi, the thing took a liking to it. “Nom...”, so did Katsuragi.

Flashback: Seven Years ago, Pelican Island
“Listen up ladies, what you see is deadman’s drop. You lucky saps have the luxurious D block section of the complex. Below the highly elevated balcony, you will find jagged rocks, sentries around every corner, and nice little hole in the wall to work on tour tan.”
The warden was as struct as ever when ever he got the news of new inmates arriving to his precious baby prison complex. He took much pride in his facility, making sure everything and everyone was brought up to current code.
Katsuragi stood in the back, busted again for tge right reasons but arrested in the wrong place. A habitual offender, smuggling drugs along the coast landed him quite some time. He could still get out early, provided he didnt do anything stupid.
The local prisoners eyed up the new meat, the new prey after hours. Nevertheless, Katsuragi stayed quite, this prison was one of the big ones, tge one known for its intense lovk down measures and security. As of now, no one has ever broken out; to be honest could anyone do it? Katsuragi was crazy, but not that crazy.
Finally in his cell, he pats the top bunk, however, someone else taps the top bunk as well. He looks over to his legt to see a clean shaven man. “New cellmate eh? Name’s Ichi.” His accent was thick, a clear indication of someone from the south fire country. Katsuragi was from the Fire country a well, Tanzaku Town to be exact.
“You my friend got juvie written all ova you”, he eyes the tattoos that covered Katsuragi.
“Yeah...”, the two stare for a period of time, waiting to see who would remove their hand first.

Early this morning, Katsuragi is seen out nack behind the tea shop. The shipments were sent out, along with all the paperwork. It was all beginning to become like second nature to him. He would catch himself sometimes; almost forgetting the need, the want to leave this place. But the waking up every morning, the turning of the keys into the shop. He was becoming a creature of habit? A cog in the system.
He shakes his head side to side at the thought. Was he becoming what he hated. Was Raleth gonna win in the end. He sighs, while balling his fist. His right arm sticking out towardsthe stone wall ahead of him. The wall in question wasnt part of the tea shop, so all was well for katsuragi. He pulls out a small tart farm his jacket. He pops it in his mouth, wnjoying the sweet taste of the treat. The shit was very good, not soly cause of the ta taste but because it was free. All of it was free since it came from the shop. All Katsuragi had to do was to make sure the shop made money everyday, the books showing postive upon every closing day. It was trully amazibg how Katsuragi managed to keep the business aflot.
After eating the treat, Katsuragi focused his chakra to his fist. He mimics the ateps from the scroll he bought from the old lady in the training grounds. The digestion of sweets was important to learning this. Continuing to do so, he changes the color of his fist all the wat to his fore arm, turning it to a pastal color. He then launches it forward, his arm stronger than ever. However it was short lived. His armed returned to his normal color.

Laying in his bed, he looks up at the ceiling. It was late, the sun now set and Katsuragi was left pondering one thing. What was he still doing here. His heart flutter at the thought of leaving, yet calm when he thought of the shop. Was he conditioned? Stuck here on a visa, left to tend the store for all time. The subject was getting tediously annoying, stuck on repeat.
As time past on, the night still ever present. Katsuragi looks over towards the window. His current postioned reminded him of cell 1143, his old prison cell on pelican island. He sighs at the thought, he wonders just how long it has been. What? A few months almost a yeat since his release? He remembered his first bite of real food the day he was let out. The taste of bread that was free of mold, with a slight crunch with the crust. He wonders just how longer he was gonna go with the day dreaming before heading to bed.
Katsuragi was seen dressed in a white, wearing a pair of khaki shorts normally worn during times of sleep. He feet were bare, free from al foot wear. His purple hair flung free, almost stretchin past his shoulders. It was almost time to cut his hair.
“I dont miss that shit at all”, he muttered. He knows full well though what will happen if he wa to get caught again.
“Im never going back”, he said. His eyes wondered off towards jacket. A handle of a lone kunai hung outwards from one of the jacket’s pockets.
