Nova Exam: Yamato V Tsuna

Yamato was escorted to the next arena, his challenger was Tsunayoshi…A member of the shinobi forces, and recently involved in a hunter-nin mission that saw him grow as a warrior. He checked his armor as he slipped on two new pieces he asked for after taking Youta to the infirmary. His left hand looked a little bulkier now…but it was a needed addition for this fight, he knew enough about his opponent to know that he is dangerous…the fight he witnessed earlier showed that the shinobi was no slouch. Making sure his weapons were all secure he slipped on his helmet before stepping out into the midday sun. The announcer welcomed everyone as he told everyone about the upcoming match, the final match of the day…Yamato could feel the pressure of the eyes of the village upon him. Walking out, stepping inside the boundary of the arena he moved until he was within two meters of the center. He was eager to get started, but he was not wanting to give the people here a typical show of ninjutsu…he pulled his katana from his left hip and stabbed it into the ground, a declaration of challenge by melee combat, no ninjutsu to throw things off…this was actual swordsmanship. Was Yamato well versed in swords or weapons in general…not lately, but he had been a part of Hoshigakure’s medical staff and a Bukijutsu practitioner once before he left the village. Now that he was back…he was eager to show that he could at least give a spectacular show of force.

Now would Tsuna accept the challenge, or was this going to devolve into a bash of chakra like the rest of the fights have been.

The stage was appointed. Another 50 by 50 meters arena, surrounded by 15 meters tall walls for spectators to sit and enjoy the trial. Patches of tall grass that reached a height of 1.5 meters located at corners of the stages, with a reach of 5 meters. At the center was a lake, or rather a that was 5 meters in radius.

The conduits would separate as they gave way to the Hoshimura clad in his Bittersteel armor. The aurora would gleam off his suit as it danced along the royal blue cloth and feather-like fur. His body was heavily adorn with blades weapons and projectiles. On his left arm a concave disk 75 centimeters in diameters, 7 centimeters thick, weighing 5 kilograms. It rim resembled that of a blade. A red star at the center.

Promenading toward his opponent’s location, 2 meters from the center, technically being 2 meters from the pond. Tsuna would take up position on the opposite end of that pond, 2 meters from it as well. In total the two contestants would be 9 meters apart. From the shroud of his helm he notice the blade of his opponent protruding from the ground. A challenge? Not just any challenge, but one of blade work? Tsunayoshi would further inspect the armor that Yamato wore. He was familiar with this particular set of armor. Samurai set from the land of iron. But what was more interesting was the gauntlet that covers up to the elbow. Metal reinforcements in the form of claws, a drum with an opening at its center below the palm. He knew of this weapon also.

It would seem Yamato did not come ill-prepared, but nonetheless. “Your last victory must have inflated your ego some. Openly issuing a challenge to clash swords, with a Hoshimura no less. Either you are overly confident in your foil work, or you are foolishly underestimating mines.” A pause would come, allowing his opponent to simmer on his words. Tsuna’s way of being reasonable. Despite the rank differences the Hoshimura did not want his opponent to take him lightly. His right hand would raise to retrieve and unmount his Just Maid from his back. The beautiful blade would make no sound as it was removed from its scabbard. No sound as it traveled trough the air to reach its destination at Tsuna’s side.

“I accept. But do remember, these were your terms, not mine when you suffer the consequences.” With that, the mood was set. From the shroud of his helm his eyes would glow as the Kenseigan was activated. He would ready himself, in his own way for his opponent to make the first move.

Seeing his opponent walk out confidently was enough to garner the interest of people in the arena. Playing to the hype of the people was enough to show Yamato that this man had the people's attention. He remembered when he had multiple eyes on him as an immigrant and when he became a child soldier in the village. Tsuna approached and mirrored his placement before there was a glancing motion to his blade in the ground, the provocation…the challenge to provide something more entertaining to the people watching this matchup.

When he spoke finally, talking about his ego and last victory before talking about his foil work and underestimation. Pulling his sword from its resting place on its back Yamato saw that the initial challenge was taken, so he removed his blade from its spot as he made a mental note of how there was no sound on the wind with the removal of Tsuna’s blade. His next set of words were of acceptance and Yamato merely nodded as he readied his blade, while a rainbow aura spread across his body, the Peacock Spirit Blessing activating as he felt his muscles tense, then he swung his sword at his max speed as he unleashed the first movement; The Glass Shard Swing. Its speed and power were 125 as he aimed directly for Tsuna. There were no words that could be said…it was time to take action, words will happen when it is all over.

And so it began, the first move going to Yamato, but that did not mean that Tsuna was not responsive to it. As his opponent developed an aura of rainbow sheen the Hoshimura would invoke an aura of hot pink nearly simultaneously. The Kenseigan keeping track of his movements, Tsuna reinforced his grip on the blade in his right hand - chakra channeling along the blade. Rapidly rotating it within his hand without faulted as a white disk of chakra would manifest from its velocity - simultaneously to this as the Kenseigan gazed in Yamato’s direction a chill would be felt from their distance. A tactic that delivered death’s intent that would reach up to 10 meters as an unseen area of effect. The sound of shattering glass would echo throughout the arena.

Tsuna would at the dash forward with his rotating blade before him, the disk being used as shield. His feet need not touch the ground as he and his equipment were weightless, he flew towards his opponent’s attack, meeting it before it could pass the threshold of 3.5 meters in a clash of techniques. By this time Yamato should be suffering from the debuff of the furious design losing -30 to both his speed and his chakra stats. As the disk moved at a speed and power of 127 it was successful it overpowering the Jutsu that was sent in Tsuna’s direction. As the rest of the arc attack flew by him. In that same instance of the clash the same Jutsu that was used by Yamato would be immediately redirected at him from a 3.5 meter distance at the same speed of 125 and power to match. Tsuna being sure to cease his moving after launching the redirect, 1.5 meters wide.

In that same moment the Hoshimura at a speed of 205 would move his rotating blade around himself like an arc/semi-circle. A trail from the blade’s path would appear. Said trail would then transmute into many blades 2 meters from his location, no closer than 1.5 meters of Yamato. 205 blades would be seen and all fired simultaneously at a speed and power of 117. These blades would move in a manner that did not obstruct their path with one another. Tsuna’s right blade would continue to rotate as he awaited the responding move of his opponent.

He took a breath as he saw his attack leave his base, there was a sudden change and he felt fatigue, but smiled inside of his helmet and rather than worry he saw the swing of Tsuna’s blade and the summoning of a large blade, there was something wrong with this. As he caught sight of his glass shard swing being returned coupled with the blades that were launched, Yamato used the Peacock blessing to give himself flight as he jumped and flew 12 meters over the area of blades, while also narrowly avoiding the redirected attack. The blades launched outside his own redirected attack had a field area of 10 meters in height and width. The flight path was an arc as he would go to land behind Tsuna, releasing the wire string with his left hand as he expertly aimed for a rock that was just feet away from Tsuna. While in the air he swung his blade and prepared himself as he used Dance of the Crescent Moon. Summoning a shadow clone 2 meters away he would land and swung his blade with less than .5 meters between them with his right hand, his left utilized with wire as he performed Tsukamu to attempt to ensnare Tsuna with the rock to bring him closer to his own speed by catching his legs, but of course if he had more power...than it would be for naught. The clone moved with a speed of 160 and had a power of 110. If it was able to close the distance it would strike at Tsuna at around the same time Yamato was bringing his blade in a horizontal swing.

With the bewitched appearance of the 205 blades, 10 meters in height and width, Tsuna was unable to maintain eyes in his target, to some this would be adverse, but to the Hoshimura he did not need to see him, he could sense him up to a 20 meters radius in all directions. Sensing that his opponent was elevating himself 5, 7, 10, no 12 meters Tsuna deduced that he may be trying to close the distance. He was clearly faster than the Jutsu sent at him; so why not move left or right, or even back. He didn’t sense him moving further away, he sensed him moving up and up alone. As the Jounin reached 10 meters in height the Hoshimura sent out a mental command to his blades. They would shift 90 degrees starting from the top. Thus altering their path to shoot straight up as the many blade below would follow. At this time the would be capable of catching the man off guards for as they are 10 meters in width, that goes for across and back making them 2 meter thick wave of swords.

This would crash into the man’s armor, with a greater power than the health of his armor the blades would overwhelm and shatter his suit of armor in the process. The blades would then swarm pass him delivering cuts and stabs to him at a power of 117. With Yamato being 12 meters above, in the thick of his attack. These blades would continue until they reached a range of 30 meters. This would be used to hold the Jounin in place.

At the same time as the blades reached and made contact with Yamato, Tsuna’s right hand would cease his rotating of the blade - from the blade it would emit a an aura of black, red and purple. It was drawing a vast quantity of space-time chakra around it. Tsuna would soar upward at a speed of 205 with his blade at the ready. Reaching 12 meters high, which was the exact height that Yamato would be caught in his sea of swords. They were now 1.5 meters away from each other. With a single swing, Tsunayoshi’s blade would unleash and eruption of Spatial chakra that covered a 20 meters diameter at a speed and power of 130. The properties of this chakra was from a distant realm. But the chakra immediately took the visage of a purple, red and black flame. Intense flames would deep through and blow the blades apart in a magnificent display of power. Should this connect with Yamato he will suffer great burns, horrid in appearance as well. All of the blades would shatter from this as well.

Tsuna would form hand seals within his left behind the covering of his shield. Preparing for a just in case response. Never one to lower his guard in a fight. These actions would of course negate Yamato’s desired attempts.

It was odd, and candidly sad to see. Yamato failed to react in a timely faction to avoid the shift in flight of the blades. Thus he would suffer from their blows, not only that he would also suffer from the direct impact of Tsunayoshi’s point blink explosion from his blade. His armor and weapons with equipment would be shattered the moment of impact. His body would be covered in disgusting burns that could be treated later by Natsuki. The man would suffer a damage of 247.

In that same instance the Hoshimura would initiate a follow up to his assault. Leaving nothing to chance, no room for remorse when it came to this battle. Yamato was good, but he wasn’t on the same level of weaponry as Tsuna was. This was clear, and made clear to all that would witness it. The right blade of the Hoshimura would glow once again with that black, red and purple chakra. Infusing the blade in his right hand increasing its health and impact force. Taking his thumb with a swift swipe from the base to the top of the blade he would channel crackling thunder from his sword. The blade would vibrant and seemingly vanishing from sight as it released from its edge a powerful explosion that would be boosted from the amplifier that he activated. From the blade would erect an area of effect blast that would reach 35 diameters in all directions at a speed and power of 230. With him being only 1.5 meters away from the damaged Yamato that was suspended in midair from the prior attack.

From this a pillar of Thunder chakra would erect from the Hoshimura with the same dimensions. Lightning and the sound of roaring thunder would rattle the entire arena. Should this come to hit the target, Yamato will be knocked out immediately. Tsuna would remain his guard just in case as he again formed seals behind his shield with his left hand. As he lowered himself at a speed of 205 to the ground, where he originally started the match from. Safely landing and planting his feet.

(As I misunderstood the time and had work constraints…no use in continuing so I am gonna take the hits.)

Whether it is a momentary lapse of judgment, or something caught his eye…Yamato did not react in time and was not only attacked by the redirected blades, but by the burning attack of Tsuna. Coupled with the follow up attack and the peacock spirit blessing. This should have been death with 500+ damage being dealt to him, he did not even get a moment to express anything further…not a moment to concede, not a moment to finish this on his feet…no he was once again treated like a dog.

The words at the beginning of the match were still there, but Yamato was not trying to provoke madness, he was trying to see more of what the village had to offer. He was not given an honorable defeat, and so he fell into the water at the center of the arena and would soon have to be drug out. His armor was nonexistent, and the weapons he carried were gone, the bands he lost and the sealed weaponry within. 50,000 Ryo lost in a single exchange, so when he was drug out and put into the infirmary for healing.

Yamato would wake up after a while, sitting up, with the burns still along his body, he was angry…not his pride, he did not have that any longer, but he was angry.

And so it was done. The Hoshimura would regard the descending body of his opponent. Jounin of Hoshigakure. The best of the best, witnessing him crashing into the body of water that centered the arena they fought within. It would seem that when Tsunayoshi donned the helm of Bittersteel he became a ruthless combatant. “is this truly all that a Jounin have to offer in ways of a challenge? I was hoping test myself and not even Yamato, defender of Hoshigakure, could grant me that…” Stern, icily spoken as he watched in disappointment of the outcome of this match.

Recalling the very forewarning he bestowed upon his opponent. “Yet, I did warn you, these are the consequences that you will suffer when challenging me.” Acknowledging the medical response team as they removed the fallen Jounin from the water. The crowd was paused for a moment. As one of the medics checked his pulse, signaling that he was still breathing, Tsuna would turn his back and began to depart from the arena. The crowd would roar in cheers as their champion, yet again was victorious.

Upon entering the hall towards his chambers the helm to his armor would collapse and recede into the neck of his metal. Clarity would wash his mind if any battle lust. Recollection would play the scenes of this fight back to him. He would strike his fist at the wall to his right. Frustrated at the results of this match. He would then exit the area until summoned for his next fight.
