Re: Some Art Concept [Valeiru]

The hand on her shoulder grounded her, whether as a warning to stop her from following through with her joke or a touch of solidarity in downing their client. It was a simple gesture and both left it at that. A job was to be done and Saya felt that they had spent enough time with this particular mission. Valeiru had taken the reins quickly after her prompting, causing the young woman to let out a fond chuckle and follow after his form. The architect, surprised with this new change of pace, sputtered and clung tightly to the cart after climbing and settling onto end. Jamil cried for the pair to slow down but they did no such thing. Not when they were almost done.
While her partner carried himself more regally, Saya, who had shorter legs, had to upgrade to a jog in order to keep up. She did not look as noble as he did; it did not help that her appearance was quite plain compared to his exotic white tresses. No matter. They had made it to the village, which they promptly shooed the builder away. Jamil colored at how dismissive the duo was to him, though he shook at the threat that kept his mouth shut. He gathered his things and began to walk away, only to turn back once to glare at them. Saya was fast to copy Valeiru’s smile, politely vicious and acerbic. She waved a hand and he immediately ran off. He would not give them a second of his time - he was an important man, a man who created only the best.
Once he was gone to another part of the village to do his own business, Saya blinked in surprise as Valeiru was instantly onto the final errand they had for the day. His actions left some of the villagers and the workers in awe as he moved swiftly and with elegance. It only took them a few minutes to shake off their trance before they tried to keep up with him. That did not last long, burning out faster than needed and taking more frequent breaks whilst her associate was still going on strong. Saya hesitated, pondering on if she should join in as well but ultimately decided not to as it seemed to her that Valeiru wanted to do it himself. A sort of - “you did your part, now I will do mine” kind of vibe that she would respect.
In the meantime Saya had gone to the one in charge, the one who had put up the request for help. She spoke to the man and retrieved the money they were promised before going to the side and waiting out the day. It didn’t take long for Valeiru to complete the task given as he was nimble and flew through it. Saya was ready at hand with a canteen of water after he was done.
”You did good work,” she said as she nodded at the structure that he and the other workers made. ”Ready when you are.”
