Discoveries within Tea

Hikari found herself in a mood to be out and about that day with the intention to learn as always, however today was different. Upon this day she sought after the joy of being outside and not within the library or the academy but rather a social setting which was different for the young Kitsune. She found herself gravitating towards a tea shop within the village's market district. The village itself was still geared towards combative tendencies but thankfully more recently some refinement was brought to the surface. With that, books in hand and a mental attitude in tow, the Academy Student ventured into the tea shop and got herself a herbal green tea and found a nook with a view of the common space. This was not for any explicit reason but to just keep an eye out on if someone were to approach her as she would prefer to keep to herself upon this day with her stack of books. She observed many a curious quandaries for her to investigate but nothing was catching her eyes as she took sips of her tea in between reading from the books she had checked out. There were a total of 4 books of various subject material. The following could be seen outside of the book she was presently reading, 'Space and Time, Techniques for a Beginning Summoner', 'Advanced Trigger Apparatuses for Genjutsu', 'Applied Accounting and Financial Mathematics'.

The book she held in her hand was a leather bound book that appear to have no words on its spine and seemed to have a jewel embedded onto the front of the cover. In hand a quill with an inkwell located away from the remainder of the books that were present. She wrote in this one as it was her own book for keeping track of various subject material that she would not disclose. This was the other reason why she was nested into the corner of the tea shop. Not only was she an observer on this day, she wanted to have time away from home to write and avoid prying eyes. Much had recently happened as her health improved and allowed her to be more active within the village and as such it made for a wonderful time to enjoy the outdoors, not the proper outdoors that Jun had talked and discussed about but simply outside her home, the academy and the campus which were her frequent stops. From there her tail was wrapped under her legs and her ears laid flat against her head turned outward as she slumped into her nook enjoying the tranquility of the tea.

The citrus flavor was distinctive, but complemented the slightly bitter liquid. Well that. . and the three sugar cubes that were tossed within the cup without hardly any hesitation.

The fragrance of the herbal tea added on to the calm atmosphere in which Meika had placed herself in. That and the occasional soft ring of the door chime each time one enters the shop. It was a very rare occurrence that the raven-haired Kunoichi was doing something that didn't involve some sort of mischief. But even a trickster needed a break once and a while.

The Lass was seated at one of the small wood-top tables, preferable at the one that was nearest a window. The warmth of the sun spilling through the glass pane and Meika bathed in it like a relaxed cat. Her chin rested firmly against her palm, as her eyes drew their attention onto the open pages before her.

Unlike the foxling, who occupied herself with many books and a journal as well, Meika only had one book within her current possession. A book she had retrieved from the village's library of many different reads. One that held information about the village itself . . past tense.

Though a few moments ticked by, the periodic sounds of ink against paper would ever so often trigger the woman's ear. The rhythm was almost melodious, but not so hidden from someone so intune to her surroundings. The Lass couldn't help but keep her attention on everything around her, even in such a relaxing place. Her phantom eyes flicked momentarily at the little fox girl. A bit wondrous on the fluffy appearance, though her expression wouldn't show it too much.

She couldn't help but question how she hasn't come across this young lass yet.

Hikari spent enough time studying that day and opted to head to bed earlier than she initially planned. She tipped her waiter happily for the service he provided her and once she was at a good stopping point in her books, she departed and went home. There was always next time for chance encounters in the Land of Lightning to discover.
