The Monster Mash [Event]

As Izu spoke her plan to the Mizukage, the lord of the hidden mist agreed, and tasked her of concocting vials with her medical jutsu of sleeping serum, helping the 4 of them to fall asleep and test her theory. With a quick nod, Izu agreed and ran away, toward her house back in the slums. As she hurried to change into her more real and fitting ninja outfit, Izu knew this was not the time to fuck up. She needed to be professionnal, but mostly, very fast for this task, as the rifts could open again at any moment.

As she ran now fully geared toward the research and developement center to form the 4 vials of sleeping serum, she noticed that the center was empty, and creepy when almost abandonned. But this was not the time for fear! Izu grabbed her courage, and ran through the eerie lab, ignoring the strobing neons in dark white corridors. As she finally got the vials, she ran away again, this time toward the stadium like the lord Mizukage ordered to start the last part of the plan: the invasion of the land of nightmares.

As she arrived, all were already ready to delve into their deep slumbers, with beds and other shinobi to protect them. Izu herself would be asleep, but her role would be different than the others: she would be the host of the dream, using her medical knowledge of the brain and the faculty to dream to master it and create stability in the dream as well as her high mastery of chakra, giving the possibility to those who could fight to do so inside of the sleep dimension.

''I got them Akabayashi. Lets delve into the dream! I'll be the host, so you wont see me here to defend others nor inside of the dream to help you. My mind will act as the stabilizer and the terrain, giving you time and sufficient resources to focus on the threat inside. To the ones protecting outside, its paramount I don't get hurt, or the mind of those asleep could crumble if the reality of the dream does. I'm ready!'' Said Izu, determined to resolve this once and for all.

As they all injected their serum and fell asleep, Izu saw the land she tried to dream. It was a completely distorted vision of Kiri, with walls oozing, ground twisting as if waves, and people made of smoke and shadow, appearing and disappearing. The whole overlay of the nightmare dimensions over Kiri was gray and monocrome, but some tears into it showed the real village hidden in the mist, with colors and all. Monsters formed out of thin air around the dream land, and went to the color rifts, traversing these tears into the fabric of reality to invade the world of the living. Even if she didnt participate, Izu saw the presence resposible for all of it: an Otsutsuki.

The battle that ensued was monumental. The hyugga girl was concentrated on maintaining the reality stable for the fighters, a task quite hard as the battle raged so intensely that the very fabric of the dimensions were assaulted. For the first time, it seemed the Kage was at his limits, as chakra attacks werent affecting the edmi god of chakra responsible for this calamity. But, a few seconds after, Shiro swiftly attacked the demi god, and in a move worth of the very creators of chakra and the ninja arts, pierced and killed the extra terrestrial being with his sword, waking them all up instantly.

In this moment, the young blonde kunoichi tought her heart stopped, as the whole world faded to black. But soon after, her eyes opened, and she was there, back in reality. Breathing a bit heavilly, she felt like this was only the begining of this situation, her instinct still on edge....

Bright light flashes and Kaimera finds himself in a new area. Listening to the noise that surrounded him, he always found the sound of rustling leaves. A sentimental gentle swishing conjured emotions of happier times during the changing seasons when his village would hold festivals and he would compete with comrades for small favors. A warm breeze wafted lazily through the trees, stirring the intoxicating scents through the air while Kaimera strolled along the edge of a secluded pond. The water sparkled with incandescent reflections from a deep sunset that painted the horizon with pastel swirls of light pinks and burnt oranges.

Casting an appreciative glance about the beautiful landscape, Kaimera had the familiar sense that he had been there before but could not recall an exact time when he could have afforded such a pleasure. The mossy banks provided a cool, soft place to settle in addition to being just as aesthetically pleasing while the forest behind him gave him a feeling of comfortable solitude. He was alone, though he did not feel alone.

A feeling as if he were waiting for someone kept absently pulling Kaimera's attention in different directions. His eyes searched the forest that surrounded the lake for any sign of his friends/comrades, but it wasn't their presence he felt.

"Kaimera."

He turned the other way in absolute confusion. It sounded as if the two voices melded into one. For a moment, he thought he might have recognized at least one of the voices, but the small sound of a child deterred his presumptions. It was the urgency in the child's voice that compelled Kaimera to stand and search his surroundings more diligently. He began walking briskly along the embankment in a vain attempt at finding whoever was calling for him.

"Kaimera."

Kaimera halted dead in his tracks. This voice was different. He turned suddenly to determine its location as it echoed from the forest and bounced off the water to confuse her. The voice wasn't so much a cry as there was need that strained in the strange combination. Regardless, someone needed his help, and he was desperately trying to figure out where they were.

"Where are you?" Kaimera called in alarm towards the wilderness. Hearing the voice as if it came from the water, Kaimera felt compelled to bend over the embankment. Surely, it was no water god attempting to play a trick on him as he peered hard at his own reflection.

Suddenly, a tall shadow appeared next to his reflection.

Now all he could hear were quick, ragged exhalations and marveled at the realization that it was his chest that was heaving. Placing his hand upon his forehead and feeling the cold beads of sweat that had formed, Kaimera wondered at his sudden trepidation. Something or someone was calling for him, but he could not imagine who or what. The reflection in the water had been dark and indistinct. When he turned to see who was behind him, the figure vanished, and the identity of this individual remained a mystery.

"Kaimera," was the last time he heard that voice as he jerked and fell into the water. The last voice was still a combination, but as he heard his name called, the Yakedo was certain he caught the deep timbered voice of a man.

Now in the water, Kaimera began sinking into the dark abyss that consumed the depths below. Struggling, his arms moved frantically as he tried to swim up, but it felt as if something was dragging him down. Did Izu’s medicine kill him? Was he getting dragged to hell? Was it because he didn't believe in some imaginary deity who has let people suffer for eternity? So be it. Closing his eyes, he let his body be taken by the current that was pulling him under.

Kaimera was drowning, sinking deeper with every struggle and the light from the sun was dimming – blackness was swallowing her. Black and blues obscuring the ocean-like eyes as he felt like his lungs would burst from being so full of water, his heart halting and starting in agonizing pulls. This had not been how he thought he would die – this had always been one of his greatest fears...where was that man...hadn't he fallen in too? Kaimera couldn't swim, he was seemingly paralyzed in the water...had his body already sunk to the bottom? Into the sticky blackness that had consumed Kaimera like some foul disease – it was rather hot down here and it hurt...wasn't drowning supposed to be peaceful?

A faint dark light appears to him, seemingly coming from nothing. Growing in size, the black light rapidly descended upon him, obliterating all his senses and blinding him. Shutting his eyes, he felt numb but something was different. He could breathe for the first time he started his pivot towards the bottom of this lake.

Opening his eyes, he found himself around his squad once again, this world was dark, murky, and seemingly abandoned unlike the previous world. Was he caught in another person’s realm that was similar to this one? He couldn’t tell right now for it seems a fight is about to break out. Well, a two on one fight for Kaimera and Izu both seemed to not have the capabilities to fight this monster as it can drain ninjutsu attacks, and quick enough to dodge Shiro’s blade. Therefore, Kaimera would just sit back and watch.

Once the fight was over, Kaimera woke back up in his body. However, a lingering presence reminded him that this wasn’t the end to their troubles, but only the beginning.

As requested Akabayashi provided cover, but he had to be careful otherwise he would find his attacks redirected at the actually capable ones in this situation. Luckily, Shiro did all of the work and they could all escape this portal. Once, they woke up everything was back to normal no blood even made its way onto his carpet. Was this a dream within a dream or something else entirely, he couldn't tell. All he knew was he had to assess whether whatever was happening was done for the time being. He would say goodbye to the other three and leave with his body guards.
