Kaimera could have fooled himself into thinking that, as a somewhat medical professional, he would be attending major surgery on a patient who; of course, was a hero-but such a tale, no-such a false belief did not happen in a life like his. He knew for a fact that he would be in the morgue working with patients who had either lost a battle or were attacked since he was covering for the pathologist - the Yakedo wondered when he would get back-; whether they had the wish to live was irrelevant. This was the life of working days on end in a room of dead bodies. Needless to say, not very much conversation to be had.
He flicked the light off and adjusted his button-up shirt as he walked down the short hallway to his kitchen. He would need to be back at the hospital by 4:30, half an hour, and so he knew that sleeping would be a wasted effort. Though he made the correct choice to put a fresh pair of clothes on as he waited for his alarm to go off, only of course he would be awake for it.
Kaimera poured the liquid into his cup and set the kettle back onto the stove, turning the burner off. From a tin sitting close to the wall on her counter, he removed the rectangular lid and took out two small cookies shaped like lions. His father has been to many places and different areas where he found new types of teas and treats while bringing them back for Kaimera; which now, he had the luxury of drinking those kinds of tea accompanied by cookies with it. His father told him that it was unhealthy to eat so many cookies, but Kaimera was at the age of a fast metabolism, and he was going to take advantage of it while he still could.
Finishing both beverage and snack, Kaimera heard his alarm go off signaling him it was time to go. Gathering the rest of his belongings, he headed towards the hospital.
It was a beautiful day outside. The birds were singing, the sun was shining, and Kaimera didn't give a damn. He was too busy with a corpse. Some job, eh? Kaimera put his hands down onto the table; his gloves stuck to the cold surface as he tapped his fingers to the beat of the song playing from an office across the hall. The morgue was an uncommonly quiet place and so the usually annoying replayed current music was rather pleasant from the unseen radio as he looked down into the chest cavity of the woman from room 103; an oddity to see and feel something so cold while his own was functioning.
The basement area of Kirigakure Hospital reminded Kaimera of catacombs. Dank, dark, and overall creepy. Considering that he hated dead bodies, it's impressive the profession he's in. Oh well. When he gets scared of something, he fights it. Most people stand aside and let themselves get killed. These are the two types of people who react to fear: Kill the source or kill yourself. You can guess which he is.
Kaimera had been filling in for the pathologist as he had been away because the administration suggested he did the job too since he was a medical examiner of sorts. Some could say he could be described as a medical ninja; however, he wasn't healer as his studies related more so to toxicology. He then rolled his eyes at himself as his thumb pinched a small hole in the woman's lung, "shit."
The part he disliked the most about working in the morgue was the moment before deciding if he needed to open the person up if their death was suspicious, or straightforward. Then of course if he did, he'd have to put them all back- the organs. Honestly, Kaimera didn't know why people didn't sign themselves up for being a donor, or why families even wanted to bury their loved ones with everything intact. Kaimera knew what happened to bodies that were buried: nothing. The bodies took up space in the earth that people didn't even have the decency to think about, purely because they wanted to stand above something, not just see a grave.
The music suddenly stopped; Kaimera’s hands froze as he placed the last organ into the body, enclosed in a bag to prevent leakage. The Yakedo then removed his hands and gazed down, like an artist looking curiously at their canvas: would he find himself on a table like this? No, of course not- he wouldn't be there, but would he die of mysterious causes?
The doors behind him swung open as Dr. Raiga rushed in with two students behind him, "this is Kaimera." He nodded at them.
"It smells in here," one of the students muttered.
"I stopped noticing," Kaimera remarked, rolling his gloves into themselves as he peeled them off his hands. "It's not a bad smell, you know?"
He found himself wandering into the hallway swinging his hands around in the pockets of his lab coat. He felt at loss to be free of something he didn't particularly like or hate; he hadn't thought about what he would rather be doing, or what he would do when he left. Behind him, a gust of air came as the door opened once again by one of the students. After breathing in the normal air, what escaped to him from the morgue came as a shock, ‘I suppose it does smell,’ he thought to himself.
"Kaimera, Kaname would like to see you."
Kaimera looked discontentedly at the student for a moment, "take a look at the lining of her stomach."
Like all students that were brought to the morgue, making them vomit wasn't a difficult task. Was the lining of the woman's stomach nearly nonexistent? Yes. However, it was not the cause of her death and therefore only an irrelevant detail that could be taken advantage of. Doing so, Kaimera felt like a bully, but it was to the best of his knowledge that everyone got sick in the morgue one way or the other- for him, it was draining the body of its blood. If he could get them to throw up today, they wouldn't do it again-unless something worse rolled in.
Kaimera began towards the east stairway, hoping Kaname hadn't given herself another heart attack or something. He probably would have received the message sooner if he hadn't left so suddenly, but of course, that would have been too convenient for everyone. He didn't like being around the students half as much as he liked to cut open bodies- and that wasn't saying a lot. They were so young they were Kaimera’s age and he felt like they were watching her with their beady little eyes constantly when they were around. He could appreciate that they wanted to learn as he has, and he definitely knew that he was like them at some time, but they always stood too close, or spoke too often, or said things like, "it smells in here."
"Of course it smells," he said beneath his breath, trotting up the stairs under the fluorescent lighting. "It's a damn hospital."
When he escaped from the stairs and arrived at the correct floor, it was almost as shocking as the difference between smells; the same fluorescent lighting from the lower floors looked less blue. However, something odd occurred to him: there were students everywhere-like an infestation of rodents or insects. He stuck to the wall and made a straight path to where he knew Kaname would be, what's happening.
“Kaname," he hummed, pushing open the almost-closed door with his foot. "I need to look at the details of my mission-"
"About that," Kaname said, ceasing whatever she was writing and slapping her pen against the table. Kaimera closed the door and took a seat in the chair opposite to the intimidating gray-haired elder. "New assignment."
Kaimera took a breath, "How so?"
"You're enthusiastic," Kaname remarked.
"N-No it's just that I just got back from the morgue and-"
"Forget that, the mission I have for you is nothing like your original," Kaname said, smiling at the corner of her mouth. Kaimera was skeptical about why her superior was smiling at him the way she was.
"This office is beginning to look ragged again," Kaimera noted.
"I'll just tell one of the students to tidy up," Kaname scoffed.
"Sounds like they're here for free labor," Kaimera chuckled. "I shouldn't be hypocritical though because I made fun of a few students after I gave an autopsy on that woman."
"Which woman?" Kaname asked.
Kaimera crossed his leg over the other, "room 103." Kaimera looked upset but it was the same upset face all the nurses or medical ninja had when someone died at the hospital; it was a look that said, he assumed they'd live longer. The employees at the hospital, Kaimera, and Kaname included were not shy or curious about death- it happened every day.
"Sad to see a girl die like that," Kaname said lightly. Kaimera agreed silently. "Anyway, your next assignment starts in about 30 minutes in room 110." Kaname said.
"Half an hour and why the secretive room?" Kaimera questioned.
“We need you to find out why this one died. And why so the secretive room? Well, she was a civilian from the slums, but she was found near the border. No external wounds.” Kaname answered.
“Ah, so you think she was poisoned.” Kaimera said.
“Yes, that is why we are directing you to this specific case. You will also be joined by your jounin instructor, who will be spearheading this case as numerous individuals have disappeared from the slums as well; Kouji, and Leon for some more supplemental help.” Kaname said, “so, you better get ready.”
"Well, I have to make sure 103 wasn't left out on the table, anyway."
"That's the last thing we need to get out to the parents."
"Hmm?"
Kaname began to write again, "oh, just that we leave bodies out in the morgue for anyone to see."
Kaimera tried not to laugh, not completely sure why he found humor.
"I'll let you get going then, thank you for filling in for our pathologist,” Kaname said, not looking up.
Kaimera scooted from the chair, which screeched across the floor, "I'll see you later."
Kaimera departed from the room and stood in the hallway with no direction.
"Kaimera!"
Kaimera stopped mid-step and found himself face to face with a student.
"We-we don't know what to do with the body."
Kaimera blinked, "you were down here with a doctor, weren't you?" He nodded.
"Well, where is he?" Kaimera asked, making short work of the space between him and the morgue entrance. "He can't just leave you people alone with patients."
The other student was standing at the other side of the woman on the table, looking thoroughly disgusted with the sight. Kaimera wondered what circumstances would have ended up leaving two kids with a dead body, they're probably mortified.
"H-He got a sudden call and said he'd be back, but he..."
"I've had it with this shit," He muttered, rolling the woman across the floor, causing the students to rush out of the way. He opened the hatch and gently pushed the tray, and the woman on it, into the cooler.
Kaimera turned to look at them. "Do you remember how to get back up?"
As soon as they left, Kaimera locked up the room and headed down to 110. Entering the room, he proceeds to wait for everyone to arrive.

Kouji was nervous. This was his first set of missions since the terrorist attack in the slums, let alone his confrontation with his father. He'd thought he'd been prepared for anything, a perfect student to his father's training, but he'd been wrong. When he set out that day he had never expected to fight a powerful shinobi terrorist, nor find out that he had an uncle that had been struck from his family tree. His allies recovered faster than him but he heard they had been mangled, he'd seen what had happened to Kaimera but had only heard about the state Nemui had ended up in. The blond boy had taken a sword in battle, and he wasn't exaggerating. A sword had been left inside the boy. He still didn't know who had gotten them to the hospital or how this maneuver had even worked against a ninja as strong as Kuraokami. He hoped to find out today, as he heard that he was teamed with Kaimera and Leon again, but he also hoped it didn't come up at all. That day had been terrifying and he knew he wasn't the only one to think so, he couldn't be. He didn't want to tear at the fresh scabs of their trauma. They'd all suffered that day and learned they were nowhere near ready to fight proper threats to the village. That they had all survived was nothing short of a miracle, and was more than could be said for the civilians left in the carnage of the explosion in the slums.
He was now being sent on his first A-rank mission, and that alone was frightening. What could be more dangerous than what he had experienced over a week ago? He hoped the ranking system was somewhat of a farce as he wasn't sure he was combat ready yet, as much as he wanted to be. He wasn't sure why he had been assigned to this mission set though. It sounded like autopsy work, work for medical professionals and he certainly wasn't that. Though he was sure he would find out soon enough.
In his musings, he got a little lost wandering the hospital corridors but eventually found his way to where he had been directed, room 110. As he entered the room he saw Kaimera. He froze on seeing his face, unsure as to what to do. His mind flashed backward and all he could see was Kaimera lying on the ground, a damaged heap, discarded by his uncle. Tears sprang to his eyes, and his vision cleared enough to actually see Kaimera, the current version. He moved swiftly and enveloped the boy in a hug. He squeezed him tightly and whispered to him, "I'm so glad you're okay."
He would hold on far longer than was polite/normal, leaving Kaimera to indicate when the hug should end.

“It’s another case, sir,” One of the many staff members of the hospital said as Shiro was busy reading the reports. Another dead body from the slums? This was the sixth one that they’ve had the pleasure to see throughout the week. The common questions immediately bumped into Shiro's head. But the reports were honestly worrisome, the moment Izu decides to leave the slums this has to happen. Perhaps she was lucky to not have been poisoned during her time there. The thought made him stiffen for a moment while he read the report. A girl in the slums, no older than 18 was seen without any injury to herself, no markings on her body. The work of a fine craftsman of the art. Yet it was alarming nonetheless. He knew he needed good people on this case. Especially given what they were dealing with. He would do it himself, but the village's current situation made it much harder for him to track this supposed murderer.
“Thank you, I’ll have a mission assigned to a good few people I know, some of them definitely need experience with these kinds of cases,” Shiro commented. Handing Rosa the file pertaining to the young woman who was poisoned. Yet he knew that he should at least say hello to Kaimera after what he had heard. His heart almost sank to the floor with the news. Kaimera, his protege, had almost died on a mission. He remembered immediately rushing to see where he could be informed of where Kiamera was at the current moment, his eyes were wide with shock upon hearing that he had been hospitalized, yet Shiro knew that his anger and his current mental state would make things worse. He had decided to only wait in the hospital, hopeful that Kaimera’s condition would be better, and when it did get better. He had written a note towards him, issuing him a get well card, as well as a few different snacks delivered to him. Kai wasn’t going to be eating only hospital food for the time he was stuck inside of the white walls that he seemingly now has become familiar with. But the issuing of the mission would be delivered to someone that Kaimera seemingly knew, a woman by the name of Kaname, who would be delivering the mission to Kaimera shortly, all the while Shiro would begin to prepare himself for the day as well, discarding his jacket for a hospital attire, muted greens, gloves, and a cap to keep his white locks from falling out. He’d immediately make his way towards the door, softly turning the door knob before strolling out of his office. Heading down towards where everyone else would be.
The fated Room 110. A private room that would be housing not one, but two bodies. The hospital was in absolute chaos, from new bandit attacks to now this whole situation had everyone on edge. Shiro’s height and overall appearance made him stand out, the thin scar along his face wasn’t doing him any favors. He’d slink around everyone that he could, not caring if they were busy talking with someone, he had to move fast with the tides, flowing like a river along the rocks of people. He’d eventually make it into the private room of 110, only to see Kouji there, giving a tight hug to Kaimera. . . It seemed that he was one of the unlucky ones who had been on that mission with Kaimera, it made his heart sink further that he had not visited him after that incident. Yet he’d stand there for a few moments, allowing for the two boys to hug it out.
“That is sweet, but we have a job to do, and Leon should be arriving here shortly, in the meantime, I will be doing the dissection with help from Kaimera, watch closely.”
With that, he’d await for Kaimera to be ready, as he’d inform Leon of what information they found when the young Genin had arrived.

It was time, a new set of missions for Leon to do, lucky for him he's been getting stronger as time went on. Over the course what was weeks he went from not being able to contribute to a fight to being able to somewhat hold his own, gaining new friends, and possibly something more with someone else. That was a new thing he's yet to really discover about but he had to move he was called to the hospital where he had some mission that was to call in his knowledge of human anatomy mostly by his family that also worked in the hospital. Before he headed out Leon would make sure to eat him something, these days he's developed a habit to go out without food in his stomach and this time he needed something to eat. He would get himself something simple some toast, a couple of eggs, and some juice just because he wanted it. Leon would grab his two blades and his lab coat, he refuses to leave those items behind, that he put over the blades as he put the blades across his lower back. Leon would step outside and looked up at the beautiful sky the deep blue shines to him as he smiled. He would walk through the village listening to the sound of kids laughing and adults chasing them, buying items, and just living their lives. Despite everything that has happened in the village within the time of him being a genin he would see the village constantly come back and flourish once again it's wild.
Leon would realize that he was on a possible time crunch he would start to move faster eventually pulling up to the hospital. He would look around before walking into the mess that was his old stomping grounds if you can call it that. In all honesty he was bottom barrel and constantly struggled but he worked hard to learn though he made sure to avoid certain areas and a particular set of people. The young genin would adjust his coat and proceeded inside the stairwell after sticking to the wall and avoiding people as much as possible. The he would begin to make his way to room 110, it was there he was gonna meet Kouji, the jounin known as Shiro. Leon knew his medical knowledge didn't hold a candle to a couple of them so he was going to be silent and listen. Once he finally got inside of the room he would smile and wave at everyone in the room. "Sorry for the late response, more crowded than before but what can you do right." Leon was all smiles as per normal especially at the two he knew already. "Like I said before, it's always us on missions. Might wanna start squading up at this point." He laughed a bit before going silent and closing the door behind him as he joined everyone. The dark skin ninja would position himself from the door and stood a decent distance from the table where he could see everything and react when need to but to also pull back if need to.

Kaimera ruffled the pages of the victim's file report. "No external wounds, severe internal hemorrhaging, shock…la dee dah. Name: Chika, Akio. Once a medic at Konoha Hospital, Special Care. Looks like this girl was pretty qualified. I wonder why she lived in the slums?" Kaimera said to himself as he placed the clipboard down on the counter. He still wondered why she stayed in the decrepit district of Kirigakure. Sure, she would have made enough money to move somewhere more established. Perhaps, something, or someone, had made her stay put in the area. Whatever the case, it was a thought for another time.
A shifting of the doorknob, opening of the barricade between the room he was in and the hallway, in walks the very force of winter himself. Turning his focus on the person, he watched as Kouji closed the door behind him. Looking at the expression on his face, he could have sworn he thought Kaimera was a ghost for a moment. Although, it seems a moment of clarity forced itself within the Yuki descendant's mind as quickly approached Kaimera to embrace him in a shivery embrace.
“Oh, Frosty. I didn’t know you were intimate like this.” He said as a tender smile broke across his face as perched up on his feet to lay his chin on his shoulder before interlocking his arms behind the male. “But I’m hurt that you’d think a sword to the side and blow to the head will take me out. I’m stronger than my feeble body appears to be.” Kaimera chuckled as he released Kouji from his grasp and softly patted him on the cheek. “Although, I’m happy that you care.” He finished as he took a step back to notice another person had already entered the room, voicing a determination to stay focused on the job at hand.
One could say that seeing they were working together with their sensei would bring some sort of relief. But Kaimera was not that one person. The creeping pit of resentment started from inside his chest. While small, it was still there. But why was he feeling this? Well, he felt like he was abandoned by his sensei. He has only seen his sensei a handful of times after the formation of the squad. In fact, Kaimera has never received any type of lesson or training from his so-called ‘sensei’, only being deployed on a few missions with him. Even that stopped as Kaimera has done almost twenty missions since the last time he was on the same assignment as Shiro, or even Izu, for that matter. However, he might not be able to teach Kaimera any jutsu in his repertoire, he could have taught him battle tactics and formation. Things that could be taught to anyone. Some would plague Kaimera for lying about this, but it was not the case.
Even when Kaimera was being treated at the hospital. Shiro never even had the audacity to show up in person. A card and a few snacks, apparently, was to show that he cared about what happened to the young Yakedo. While Kaimera did appreciate the gesture, it just proved to him even more that Shiro really did not give a damn about him, or else he would have shown up and personally given those items to Kaimera. It was almost like how his father treated him in the beginning. Leaving him locked in his room, never coming to see him, or even bat an eye at him. The only form of familial gesture was through the usage of gifts that he would get for Kaimera. Perhaps, that was where this feeling originated from.
“Hello, Shiro-sensei,” Kaimera openly greeted the man with a joyous expression on his face, but his tone was nothing less than a hiss.
Before Kaimera could continue on to say anything, the final member of the party arrived, Leon Rentei. Kaimera's joyous expression turned into more of a softer tone as he looked at his close friend. “Hi, Leon,” he said as he waved back to his friend before his eyes began lingering around the room as if to look for something. However, he let out a chuckle when Leon talked about squadding up as his eyes directly laid on Shiro with a smirk crossed his face. “That sounds nice. I’ve always wondered what being a part of a team would be like. Perhaps one that doesn’t forget the existence of its other members, right Shiro-sensei?” Kaimera sarcastically said as he stared daggers into Shiro all while his smile stayed in place. Whether or not Shiro would respond or not, he will most likely debrief the others on the matters at hand.
Kaimera soon got in position on the other side of the autopsy table where the victim was placed between now and the arrival of Leon. He placed his tools beside him that will help him through this autopsy and then began to put on the restraints to hold the body into place. After that, he picked up the cool blade known as scalpel. “Do you know the chakra scalpel technique? Or do you need this?” Kaimera smirked as he offered the scalpel to Shiro. Whether he took it or not, he would continue to watch Shiro.
"Anyway, I’m going to try and get a blood sample before you open her up," he flashed Shiro his most charming smile as he grasped Akio’s wrist and held it for a moment. He then inserted the needle in the bend of her arm. He pulled the plunger slowly, and Kaimera’s jaw nearly dropped. The syringe was full of air. So, she DID bleed out completely.
"Okay. I've never seen THAT before…open her up and see if we can get anything directly from the heart." Kaimera said as he waited for Shiro to completely open her up, acting as if he was the boss during this procedure. Once Shiro did, Kaimera would gasp. The inside was shriveled and diseased looking. Every last piece of tissue was mottled and purplish, even brown. The smell was even worse. It came over them in a wave, and Kaimera’s eyes began to water.
"Girl, you have problems," Kaimera said as he looked at the heart, or the thing that once was the heart, was a black, almost crispy hunk of meat. It looked like a short bratwurst that had stayed in a doll several months too long. Kaimera then stuck a newly opened syringe in the right ventricle. Good, it was filling up with some red, cloudy substance. It looked pus-filled. Not the best blood around, but it was a blood sample, nonetheless.
"I'll take this to the lab and look at it while you can see what else you can find," he said as he gave a quick smile to Shiro, before turning to walk out the door before talking to both Kouji and Leon. “If one of you wants to keep me company, come with it. It might take a minute to analyze this blood sample.” Kaimera said as he exited the room.

Kouji blushed, as usual, at Kaimera's flirty comments. His outburst was unusual for him but he hadn't realized how worried he'd been until he'd seen the boy. His face still scarlet he moved away from Kaimera, not wanting anyone else to think they were romantically entangled. He'd already been burnt by that once before. But as he stepped back he noticed Shiro had already arrived. His blush changed to a beet red colour as he heard the man's words and he casually looked at the wall in an effort to control himself. Through sheer force of will he attempted to to pull the heat from his face and to return to a somewhat normal appearance. He had only achieved partial success, his face still tinged with a pale red as Leon arrived.
Aware that he had company and in a bit more control of himself he looked the boy over slowly. He gulped in his appearance, trying again and again to ensure he wasn't hurt anywhere, or had any lasting scars from their battle. Finally, after staring for far too long, he walked over and awkwardly clapped the boy on the shoulder and said, "I'm so glad you're okay. I've thought about you all so much since the mission. I've just had... my own issues to sort out. I'm sorry I didn't find either of you sooner."
Not skilled in the medical arts whatsoever Kouji held back and attempted to not look too squeamish as they began the autopsy. He was, however, deeply interested as the conversation turned. He couldn't pinpoint why but Kaimera had some sort of beef with Shiro. He could be mistaken but one of his comments seemed too pointed to be anything other than a jab at the senior shinobi. He puzzled this over for a while before Kaimera jolted him from his thoughts with an offer to join him. He shook his head and nodded at Leon instead, "I'm sure you and Leon have as much to catch up on, I'll wait here with Shiro."
It pained him to do it. While he wasn't sure where he landed romantically it was clear that the two guys had no such compunctions. Based on how they flirted with each other they may actually have something there. It was better this way, he had nothing to offer anyone other than loneliness and regret. He wished he could turn off this piece of him that had somehow awakened. It was so much easier when romance wasn't even on his radar. At the very least, it would have eased this soft ache that had begun to build in his heart. As Leon and Kaimera left that ache turned to a distinct pang before he shoved the feeling away and turned to Shiro.
"So... you know Kaimera?" He asked awkwardly. He didn't want to ask what he'd done straight out in case he was wrong. He hoped he hadn't annoyed the senior ninja with his question. He'd only just started to get to know the serious man and hoped that would change with time. Any social bungling of his could end this relationship as quickly as it had begun.

“Hello Kaimera-San.”
He knew he should have done more, he almost wished he could kick himself when he heard Kaimera’s tone. Almost like a cat, Kai practically hissed at him. Shiro didn’t know how to help his team after what happened with Jay. He had continued to mess up, he did the one thing he didn’t want to do. Play favorites, is this how others had felt about Youai with him? How she would constantly give him attention, and she would focus her time on him more than on others. Shiro clicked his tongue, now knowing the awkward situation that he had now placed himself from never visiting Kaimera. Yet it seemed that Leon joining in only seemed to invigorate his student into getting a response out of him. His hand lay at his side. He could feel the resentment from Kaimera. He wondered how different this interaction would be if he had visited Kaimera. Yet that choice was behind him now, he could only help but move forward by greeting Leon.
“Hello Leon-”
Kaimera’s words bite into him, about how he wished he could be on a team, one that didn’t forget their existence. He wasn’t necessarily wrong, Shiro wishing to discuss this later, in private with the young man. The darkly lit room made him feel sealed shut in this situation, Kaimera’s tone had Shiro annoyed, primarily with himself. His flowers had not been enough, gifts were not enough. Kaimera wanted to see him, wanting to see him instead of feeling like he was only being looked after as an afterthought. He looked almost angry for a second, eyes piercing right back towards Kaimera. Until his hands let go, his face softened considerably while walking towards his student.
“Then you’ll be a better sensei starting than I was. I wouldn’t have assigned you for this mission if I didn’t think you were ready. Let’s be a team for this, it would be better than bickering Kai-San.”
He didn’t know what to even say or do, sarcasm wouldn’t work, and his giving an excuse wouldn’t work. Ignoring them wouldn't be good either. All of these options only made the situation awkward. He wouldn’t disclose why he hadn’t visited Kaimera, but honestly, the thought of it didn’t cross his mind, he had never received visitors in the hospital, even after he had been stripped of his status as Kage. He had received nothing, no endearment, no love, no consolation. Just him stuck in his thoughts about his greatest failure as a villager, as a Kage, and as a shinobi.
But this would take place in a very distant second.
“Now, this mission is of utmost importance. Supposedly there was no blood on the scene of the crime. She was a shinobi, a medical ninja at that. It’s a surprise she did live in the slums. She has no living relatives that I was able to dig up inside of the archives. For all we know, she simply had fallen on hard times. It’s up to us to find out what exactly caused her death, and if there was any supposed foul play at all.”
With the debriefing finished, Kaimera and himself shifted into place. Shiro’s byakugan could see internal organs, the bloodstream, and the chakra system itself. However, all he could see inside of her corpse was a dark hue. Her blood circulation was none existent. Yet Kaimera's question of if he needed the Scalpel or if he knew the chakra Scalpel made him smirk. His hand would grab the Scalpel by its handle, holding it with a delicate amount of Dexterity.
“Come now, the Chakra Scalpel is best used for loosening the nerves of the body. A regular Scalpel will do just fine for this operation.”
Grabbing one of the white face masks to cover the body's bacteria. Shiro's eyes turned to see the empty syringe that Kaimera was holding. Drawing some amount of blood would be paramount in figuring out what this poison or venom had done to her. Yet what the two medical shinobi had found was nothing, only empty air from the body's veins. His Byakugan flexed once more. He thought it was simply dried blood. . . But nothing, this was worse than he thought. His hand goes to the black markers on his side of the table. Opening up the small cap, the scent of ink began to permeate the room. Shiro's hands gently drew a straight cut from her chest to her stomach. The small pressing of the black marks on her skin made him curious about what he was about to find.
Without even saying a word, only a quick nod from his student. Shiro would slowly begin to make an incision along her body. Yet his Scalpel felt no resistance. He usually had to cut through the ribcage and then heal the patient. But it was almost like cutting through butter in a sense. Once the white-haired man had finished. Kaimera would open up the woman's body. . . Finding what remained was a startle to even himself.
He saw what seemingly remained of her insides, not even her ribcage had fully made it out. Shiro's eyes remained on the carcass. Inspecting this woman's insides to see that her bones were covered in the blackened substance of what remained of her internal organs. How there was no blood on the scene he would never know. But whatever it was, this was no simple disease.
“Whatever killed her was not slow, this is the work of no mere Venom. . . I'll keep on inspecting the body for anything else.”
As was expected, his student did not want to see him much. Asking one of the other two to come with him to learn. Yet Kouji, it was strange to see him not volunteer immediately. No one would have faulted him for it, yet the Hyuga could see that it pained him when he offered Leon to go with his student. His Byakugan had noticed the boy's heart rate go up. He had deactivated it right as Kaimera and Leon would leave. His thoughts now primarily focused on inspecting the corpse for anything else. Kouji's question did not irritate him. Instead, he'd humor the young Shinobi.
“I do know Kaimera, but not enough obviously. He's a good shinobi if he's being employed here. . . But I can't say that I know him well enough. Izu would probably be able to tell me more, he’s a good kid, hard-working, kind, and he can also be a huge snark. . . How much do you know about him?”

The trek from the morgue to the pathology labs was short and quiet, well, besides the subtle hum exuding from the lights placed above him. It seems that Leon did not care to join him on this journey, but he did not blame him. Kaimera could only blame himself for putting the other two in such an awkward situation due to his own childish antics. Perhaps with time he will come to his senses but still, he could not help but feel that subtle ache in his chest that only ignited his irritation even more. “What to do about that,” he quietly said to himself as pushed open the door and made his way inside the lab. “Nothing really to do about it now.” He continued as he took a seat at one of the many analyzers that occupied the lab tables. “Time to get to work,” he said as he started to study the blood sample that he got from the woman's extremely deteriorated heart.
After about two hours of analyzing the blood sample, he finally got a report ready to hand off to Shiro. Thus, he made his way back to their area if they had not yet left and entered the room. “I’m back, sorry it took so long.” He spoke out as he closed the door behind him before checking over his notes, reading and then rereading the numbers. He raised his eyebrows and whistled.
“Well, Ms. Chika ingested quite the cocktail,” Kaimera said as he handed the notes to Shiro. “She had a blood alcohol level of .23 percent. Traces of Methadone, Amphetamine, Benzoylecgonine, and Phencyclidine in her bloodstream. However, that wasn’t enough to send her into an overdose, so I kept analyzing even further and found leukocytes, disabled platelets, destroyed red blood cells, and Witodia. Not much is known about this drug, Witodia, but let me tell you, it will cause serious blood problems. So much so that it causes spontaneous hemorrhaging if too much is consumed. In which I can correctly assume that this is her problem.” He said as he leaned his lower back against one the few tables that occupied the room. It was true what he said about Witodia. The drug seemed to appear out of nowhere this past month and so far, this woman has been the sixth victim from this drug. Someone must be creating this drug in the village and supplying it to residents of the village.
“Such a tragedy. She has been the sixth person that has come into the morgue to have died from the specific problem. However, I never saw it do extensive damage like this so she must have taken an excessive amount.” Kaimera added on. “Not only that, but all of them have been from the slums. So, of course considering how those are down there, no answers have been found on who is distributing this.” He continued to share his knowledge of the subject with the other two. “So, did you find anything else new to add?”
