Genin Exam [Ayane]

Ayane actually managed to wake up early for once that day. In most cases, the young Uchiha girl would have slept in until the early afternoon, but today was a special occasion. It was time for her to complete her Genin exam at the Konoha Academy, time to show that she had successfully perfected her foundation skills as a Shinobi and was ready to take the next step. Initially, she had been opposed to Tenshi’s decision of sending her to the academy, believing that she was already up to the task of being an accomplished Shinobi. This mindset was changed after she actually spent some time attempting to show off her skills, something that backfired very quickly for the Uchiha. Now, however, she was absolutely confident in her abilities.

With a long yawn, Ayane hopped out of her comfortable bed and made her way over to the ensuite bathroom. She took her time in her morning preparations, wanting to feel and look her best for the upcoming day. After her shower, Ayane got dressed in her black shorts and crop top hoodie, before making her way down the large staircase to the kitchen. A short breakfast later and she was out the door and into the sunny Uchiha district. Not used to the early morning rush, Ayane looked on in a shock as people quickly rushed to work, something that she had been dreading doing at TenSeals. Unfortunately, Tenshi had not given her a choice in the matter, if she wanted to live in his house she would have to work for it. In all fairness, her older brother had told her that she would not have to work until after she completed the Genin exam, wanting to give her the opportunity to focus on her skills and studying before having to work. With a deep breath, Ayane joined the busy crowd of moving people, blending in rather easily as she walked towards the Academy.

On her way there, she took the time to eavesdrop on those around her. Friends who worked together or were simply walking in the same direction would unveil a ton of gossip. Person A was unhappy because Person B would always take the last slice of pizza at dinner. Person C was apparently cheating on Person D with Person E. Person F was allegedly sleeping with Person A and Person E on the sly, but everyone knew about that? Ayane was shocked to see how quickly and unapologetically this sort of gossip traveled around amongst the clan. Did these people have no shame or something? Regardless, that was not the most interesting thing that she noticed on her walk. What interested her the most was that it only seemed to be the Uchiha who would chat on their travels. The clan people were not the only ones who lived in the district anymore, many outsiders had also moved in, somewhat tarnishing the name of where they lived. These outsiders had made a habit of keeping to themselves, understanding that they were not welcome by the Uchiha, something that resonated in conversations also. Nobody wanted to talk to them, so nobody did.

The closer she got to the Academy, the thinner the crowd got, until it was only Ayane and a few Academy teachers and some other students who were left. As she approached the somewhat ugly building, Ayane felt a knot begin to form in her chest, was this… nerves? Or perhaps it was worse than that, was she simply afraid? Her palms began to sweat as she tried to take in deep breaths. She was ready, she KNEW that she was ready for this, but something was whispering doubt in the back of her mind. She felt ashamed of this, she was Ayane UCHIHA, her clan was known for its incredible prowess in the Shinobi world. Her brother was one of the strongest, if not THE strongest Uchiha in the village. She should be able to complete something as simple as the Genin exam without breaking so much as a drop of sweat. There is no way that I’m gonna fail this, no darn way! She thought to herself, slowly regaining her drive and resolve. It was at this point that she realised she had stopped herself at the entrance, right in front of the Academy doors. With one last deep breath, she forced a smile onto her face and strolled inside, ready to face the challenges that she had to encounter.

Walking into her classroom, Ayane looked around the room to see many familiar faces already there. The usual cheery atmosphere that she felt in here was replaced with one of sheer terror. It seemed that she was not the only nervous student in attendance, that brought her a great level of comfort. All of the desks had large boards separating them, no doubt to block out any attempts of cheating. Taking her seat at the far back right of the class, Ayane decided not to converse with her fellow students, instead looking out the window and awaiting the arrival of their proctor. When they entered, the class was instructed to turn around the small books in front of them, which were deliberately face down, and to commence the written part of the exam. Ayane was glad to notice that the questions in the written portion of the exam were actually quite easy. Something about which country their village was located in, the relationship between the Leaf and the Sand, the name of their Hokage and his Deputy. She quickly got through them all without a shadow of a doubt in her mind.

The only question to truly trip her up was quite an open ended one: What is the Will of Fire? It was the last question in the book and she decided to spend the remaining time she had left to truly think about it before answering. Finally, she wrote down her response. My Will of Fire is my love and care for my family and fellow villagers. My desire to protect them and be there for them in their time of greatest need, it is what drives me to become a Shinobi. My love for them burns bright like wild fire on the coldest night. Satisfied, Ayane smiled and turned in her book to the proctor at the front desk. He began quickly reading through her answers, all of which were multiple choice until the final one, he would nod to himself as he did so. When he reached her answer about the Will of Fire, he took a moment to read it, looking at her afterwards with a piercing gaze. Finally he would smile to her and direct her to move to the next room, clearly satisfied with what he had read. With a large grin on her face, Ayane skipped over and entered the practical portion of the examination.

She waited in the practical room until the remaining students joined her, she was the first of the lot. Something that caught her eye was the fact that less students were in this room than the one before, it seemed that not everyone had found the test so easy. It was time for her to show what she could do in the Shinobi world. Walking up to the middle of the room when her name was called out, Ayane quickly performed the hand seals required, before activating the clone technique. An exact copy of herself appeared next to her in a small puff of smoke, both her and her clone gave a fancy twirl for the class, most of whom applauded the effort. The proctor gave a satisfied nod before directing her to complete the transformation technique. She also completed this without much difficulty, opting to transform into her sister, Kaya. She noticed that the proctor blushed when she did so, clearly her older sister had some fans in the village. With another satisfied nod, the proctor gave her a form which specified that she had successfully completed the Genin exam. He congratulated her before allowing her to leave the class.

Ayane skipped home with the largest grin that her face would allow, she had absolutely aced the test and could not wait to tell her siblings, the entire household was now full of successful Genin! Ayane Uchiha - Genin!
