You would look at them and say, “Well, show me your techniques. Let me see what you got.”  He would wait for them both to perform these techniques and say, “Alright, I think you two should be pretty close to ready for your Genin exams. I am not exactly sure when they are, but I am sure you two will do great. Now, there are a few more techniques I think would be helpful for you to know right away, like how to break out of a genjutsu. This skill is essential in combat, especially if you are unsure if the opponent could put you under a genjutsu.”  He would continue to explain the basics and then see if there were any questions.  He would try to as sneakily as possible activate his Meigan to look and see what their chakra looked like.

Oh yeah! Genjutsu release! Easy one! One simple hand gesture correct? You know this jutsu then you are set if you are up against someone who uses genjutsu. The downside, what if you don't even know you're in a genjutsu? Can't use something to defend yourself if you aren't even aware of what's going on. There were quite a few justsus he had studied, may as well put those jutsus to use and show what he could, but for now he would try the one he was just shown.
Kai watched Youta carefully and then tried the jutsu himself. It wasn't really a difficult one, you just had to know when to do it and how much chakra and focus to put into it.
“Did I do that right? What if you don't know your in a genjutsu? Or you can't move to do the release?” Kai asked him curiously. Important information that was needed. Granted Kai knew genjutsu was part of his bloodline but knowing how to release any genjutsu put on him was important! He knew quite a few people in the past who used genjutsu and this was an important jutsu to know and understand to protect himself from them just in case.

Zatoichi watched closely when Youta showed them how to do Genjutsu release. That was a very necessary jutsu to know because it's common for many ninja to use genjutsu! Especially people from Youtas clan and Kai's clan! It seemed very easy to do, and as Youta asked them to do it, he saw the first person to do the jutsu, of course, Kai!
He waited and after Kai finished he attempted it as well. Now, it looks easy, and it seems a little…too easy!
“Are we doing this right? It doesn't feel like we are! It can't be this simple to escape from a genjutsu! Can't genjutsu kill you?” Zatoichi asked. The kid was actually curious and finally taking this whole session seriously! He wanted to be able to pass his Genin exam but also be able to prove he could do more! Best way to prove you can do something is to learn how to do it right? Zatoichi was an extremely brilliant kid and could learn something fairly quick! It's how he's made it as far as he has.
“Kai has a point.” He said as he agreed with his housemate and close friend, he knew Youta was helping them and he planned on listening to his fellow white haired friend.

“Getting out of genjutsu is not too hard the hardest part is realizing in time you are in a genjutsu. See they trick your brain and it can be very hard to tell. Sometimes it seems like a magic trick or they can paralyze you. However both of you have a bit of an advantage with having dojutsu. Once you train it up it will help you see through some of of theme. So after you learn the basics we will have to teach you how to do it without any hand seals with just thinking about it. But let’s get the basics down.” He would continue and say now that you know it is happening. “I have a few weaker genjutsu so I will use the most basic ones.” And a few flowers appeared “now quickly to make the hand seals to break it.” If they succeed he would praise them and if they failed he would break them out of it. They would most likely succeed since he did use a very powerful one. And he would say “see it tricked you for a second didn’t it and why once you all are ready you can start looking for other techniques. You want to make sure that you can pass this exam first try so you can be assigned to teams and move up the ranks.”

Kai looked at the flowers closely, and he knew they were fake but they appeared to be so real! Are they a mirage or can I touch them? Sure enough he touched them and they even felt real!
“Whoa! They are so real looking!” Kai laughed as he touched them. He probably looked crazy to any outsider that happened to be staring at the group. More than likely he was touching nothing in their eyes, but he had beautiful flowers in front of him looking through his eyes! Oh yeah…he's supposed to break the genjutsu! He knew the hand signs and he was told he did it right before, but now he had to do it again.
First step, realize it's fake! The flowers are one hundred percent fake! Okay he established that. Now, for the hand signs. Or sign! He made the sign and the flowers vanished almost instantly, for him anyways, more than likely Zatoichi was still seeing them. Of course, right? He broke himself out of it and he could probably pull His friend out of it, but Youta needs to know they could do this on their own!
“Done.” Kai said plainly as he looked up at Ayouta then back over at Zatoichi waiting on him to end the genjutsu.

Zatoichi saw the flowers appear! His eyes widened as he looked at them. They looked very real and he could even touch them! He picked one up and realized it didn't have a scent. Must be a very basic genjutsu because he recalled someone once telling him a lot of the genjutsus had smell, taste, visual effects and realistic sounds!
Zatoichi noticed that Kai was checking out the flowers as well! As Zatoichi looked away he suddenly saw that Zatoichi was looking at Youta! He must have broken out of the genjutsus already!
Wait! No! He can't be the last one! Oh well, better late than never. He did the sign but the flowers were still there! What the heck? He did again and then suddenly really what he was doing wrong.
“This isn't real, it's fake! This is a genjutsu!” He whispered to himself! Suddenly he did the sign again and they disappeared!
“Thought I was stuck there for a moment, aI couldn't get out at first!” Zatoichi sighed and laughed at the same time as he looked at his two friends.
“Next…” he said jokingly to Youta.” Okay seriously what else do we need to learn sir?” He asked politely of Youta.

“Alright it’s good that you have learned how to get out of genjutsu. I am not sure what else I am suppose to show you. Maybe how to walk on water or up walls or we can save that for later whatever you guys want to do.” He would look at the two of them he did not know too much about these two but he was looking to see what they were going to do as full fledge shinobi. Youta never really saw himself as a teacher or a team leader but you never know. He would do whatever the village needed him to do. He was always that way. He understood that shinobi sometimes had to do the dirty work for the village for the benefit of the village. He would then continue “so do you all know the answers for the Genin exam and know your techniques?”

Zatoichi smiled as he looked at Youta and Kai. He was glad Youta Youta had shown up to help them and that they had actually been able to drop the topic they had been discussing before Youta showed up.
“I'm ready for the exam, I'm a natural I got this.” Zatoichi said with a very cocky smile, yes, yes indeed he had this and he knew it! Maybe it was okay to be egotistical in this scenario because he could back up his words with actions!
“Thanks for your help Youta, and ready when you are Kai, we still doing this together right?” Zatoichi asked him.
