It had only been about an hour or so since Seikatsu and Takeshiyama had dropped off the group of folks that had partaken in the pub crawl. Not nearly a long enough rest with what they had to put up and the amount of babysitting and alcohol that the group decided to ingest. Even still, they had one final task to complete before their night was done. Some of the folks around Sutageiza had been complaining that a lot of the games had been rigged and you actually weren’t able to win any of the prizes. The problem with this is that if it’s the case, these vendors were likely stealing a bunch of money from folks that earned it and just wanted to have a little bit of fun. The thought of this actually struck a bit of a nerve with Seikatsu.
”I better not catch any of these vendors doing such a thing. If you want, we can make this quick - I’ll check half of the vendors and then you can check the other half and meet back here to confirm findings.”
Seikatsu had forgotten to wait on if Takeshiyama even agreed with this plan before storming off in a particular direction. The hope was that this wouldn’t be true and that the games were just difficult to win - which there’s nothing wrong with. It’s supposed to be a fun time, not a time to try and rob the folks you share a village with. It was an attempt that was filled with sneakiness and desperation - something Seikatsu absolutely despised. It didn’t take him long to make his way to game 1… which was ring toss. Trying to toss a tiny ring onto bottles. The complaint around this game was that the rings were too tiny to even fit around the bottles.
”One glance at these rings and I can tell you that they absolutely fit around these bottles… who the hell came up with this complaint?” As the thoughts manifested and then vanished, Seikatsu tossed a couple of rings for fun, landing one of the two. Not enough to win a prize but that’s not what he really cared about. The heated genin turned ninety degrees and headed straight for the next game. It was a billiards table that obviously had tighter pockets and the balls were even slightly larger. This one needed to be paid attention too for sure - very close to not being able to pocket the balls.
After a few attempts at the game though, Seikatsu was able to pocket each of the 6 balls that were on the table without missing. This was an example of a game just being a bit difficult and if you didn’t have enough hand eye coordination, you weren’t going to win anyways. The young man smiled as he completed it, showing his interest and how much he actually enjoyed the challenge, his first time ever playing such a game.
”That was actually quite fun - I’ll have to come back on my own for that one.”
Seikatsu made his way around to the rest of the games that were on his side, attempting them one by one, and never really finding one that would be deemed as “rigged”. The closest one there was, was a game called ball toss, where you toss a ball into a basket that’s leaned pretty far forward - though after figuring out how to play it, Seikatsu just suggested a minor tweak, he could tell it wasn’t rigged. Afterall, he was able to win a prize from it.
”Well that’s it from me, guess I’ll head back to where I was with Takeshiyama and report the findings. Wonder if he had to actually apprehend anyone for a rigged game? Would be a funny story to hear about, I am sure.”

He had no sooner sent one task master away, before a second arrived. Claiming that the job was only half finished, and he had agreed to helping with one final thing before the night. With a large inhale, and an even larger exhale that smelled of booze the sumo attempted to blow out some of the alcohol that was coursing through his body. "Yea, sure..." He said getting roughly to his feet before Seikatsu arrived. He listened to the genin who had apparently brought his twin give a gameplan. "Yea...sure...." He said again getting his feet under him, and his balance if not steady at least nearby.
He watched as the boy went to his side, and eyeing the path going the other way, he took another breath before doing the same. Only stumbling slightly, he made his way through the variety of festival style games that lined the street. Some of the games seemed a touch silly to host in a village of shinobi. Things like kunai toss, and the like felt a touch too easy if you had been training to do such a thing your whole life. Still, he doubted in the best of cases he would be able to do the task, and he was not in his best shape presently.
Continuing down the way he opted to skip most of the games. Though he heard the grumbling, he also wasn't personally approached about any either. Festival games are supposed to be hard, he thought as he walked. That was one of the whole points...not everyone should get a prize. The complaining was likely just inept boyfriends upset they couldn't impress an easy date. That part he at least could understand he supposed. Still, it wasn't until he made it to a game of strength that he thought he would finally give one a try.
A simple game, you took a heavy mallet, hit a knob and a metal weight would shoot up until ideally it rang a bell. Leaning against a stall, not because he needed it alright it just was a nice place to lean, he watched a few people give it a try. In total he watched 12 men and 3 females attempt the game and so far no one had completed the task. Pushing off and nearly tumbling the stall behind him he approached, and passing off the coin he took the hammer. Rolling his head in a small stretch he raised the hammer with one hand, and brought it crashing down, the wood beneath the knob splintering as he did. The weight shot up, but before it could hit the bell it came to a sudden and complete stop, not even coming back down.
Upon inspection and with the help of the peace keeping forces, it would be deduced that the rail the weight went up narrowed, to a point it was impossible for it to complete its task to the bell. Signing off on a job well done, he'd meet back up with his comrade, tell the tale and return to his drink, what a waste of an evening to work when there was drinking to be done
