C-Ranked Mission: Boom!
Tue Aug 21, 2012 4:13 am
A light yet warm breeze blew over the campsite Taro had recently made. The campsite was situated on the border of the vast desert and the skyscraper village. A loud screech from the sky awakened Taro. Getting up quickly Taro assumed a defensive position. His time as a missing ninja had conditioned him to assume the worst and right now the worst could be an attack, which he had been expecting at anytime. His body instantly as his gaze shifted upwards and saw that it was a hawk. The hawk slowly drifted down to the campsite. Taro was thoroughly surprised-how did anyone know where he was? The morning sun was in his eyes forcing him to look down until the hawk landed on a rock not too far away form his camp. Taro slowly approached the hawk making sure that it was not a trap or some other far fangled device. Once he had discerned that it was safe he approached the hawk. Looking down at its right leg Taro found a scroll that seemed a little large for the hawk to be carrying. Grabbing the scroll he opened it up and read the contents while the black beady eyes of the hawk drilled into him.
Dear Ninja of skill,
You have caught our attention as a ninja with certain skill set, because of that we are here to inquire as to your help. Our organization requires your assistance in…taking care of a storehouse. We have enclosed exploding tags, which should be more than enough to bring the storehouse toppling down. Now be careful, as there may be guards. You may do with these people as you see fit. Just make sure you bring down this storehouse. We will be watching you. Once you have completed this mission you will be contacted via hawk with your payment of two thousand ryo. Be warned though if you do not do as instructed to we will, to say the least, be in touch.
The letter was signed with a cursive G. Taro unfurled the scroll all the way to reveal a good amount of exploding tags. Giving a few shady glances around for these people who were supposedly watching him Taro laughed nervously to himself and then proclaimed to anyone around: “I accept your offer. Consider this storehouse already gone!” With that Taro started off towards the position indicated in the letter. He left the camp as it was, because he figured that he would be back fairly soon-how hard could be to blow up a shack? As he walked towards the shack Taro constantly looked behind for him trying to find a person tailing him to no avail. Through the sandy haze he could see the black silhouette of a looming warehouse like building. This had to be the place-what other place would be in the middle of the desert?
Taro sighed a bit. Now came the fun part. For fun Taro decided that he would plant the exploding seals and take out the guards without using any jutsu. Crouching down near to the ground Taro stayed silent. He stilled his breathing and made his footsteps silent. He could see two figures walking around the outside. Whatever was in this warehouse was either very valuable or very dangerous and in all likelihood-both. Taro half considered taking whatever was in the warehouse for himself, but the thought better of it as he recalled the creepy vague warning the letter G fellow-whoever that is. Waiting for a point at time in which both guards had their back to each other. Taro let his mind drift. His thoughts were on one point of time in particular when he and his team in the hidden village of the leaves. He had been tasked with infiltrating a house with a murder in it. His team jumped the gun and as a result the woman the murder had been holding hostage was killed. From that day forward Taro resolved to always have perfect timing. That translated to the point at time in which Taro was now ready to take action. The second the guard’s two backs turned on each other Taro was off in an instant. He moved swiftly yet silently straight up towards the wall. The wall, luckily, was built in such a way that allowed him to quickly scale the wall and reach the roof. Once on the roof Taro took a breather and took stock of the situation. The roof was flat, which Taro found very very odd, but at this point it did not matter. What mattered now was planting the exploding tags and taking out the guards, which he hoped would take only a matter of minutes after placing the tags. Springing into action taro moved to the four corners of the roof and placed the tags. He took special care in making sure that the tags were firmly on the roof. He did not want this mission to be botched by a simple mishap. After those were placed he waited on the roof for one of the guards to walk down below him. As one of the guards rounded the corner Taro waited until the guards was right below him and he pounced like a beast onto his prey. Taro’s right leg came down in a swift crescent onto the guards head. The guard promptly crumpled under his leg. Granted Taro was not that strong, but gravity had aided him greatly. All that remained was to take out the other man. Moving quickly Taro made his way around the small compound. Though to his surprise the other guard was nowhere to be seen. It was then that he heard a door open on the opposite side of the compound. Expect he heard two voices-there must have been another person inside. Letting out an exaggerated sigh so the guards would hear them. It had been a long time since he had a good fist fight. He heard two footsteps coming from both sides of the warehouse. Two men rounded the left and right corners of the warehouse. The two men were huge and looked to be monstrously strong, this was not going to be an easy fight. Luckily, Taro spotted a ninjato on the back of the man who had come from the left of the warehouse. That would Taro’s ticket out of this sticky situation. The man on the left charged Taro with a reckless abandon, which would spell his ultimate demise. Taro planned to use the man’s weight to his advantage. As the man neared him he was in a sprint with his ninjato drawn. Taro swept his feet causing the large man to fall and drop his ninjato. The sword fell right in front of Taro who quickly picked it up and jabbed it right into the man who ran from the right who had charged Taro as well. Both men fell, one dead and one slightly stunned. Walking over to the stunned man he stabbed the ninjato right into his chest killing him instantly.
Wiping off the sweat from his brow he dragged the three bodies into the compound and proceeded to place the exploding tags all over the compound. Inside the warehouse there were covered crates, but Taro decided to leave them covered as he valued his life. He then walked straight out of the warehouse. Making a quick hand sign the warehouse erupted in flames and ten individuals explosions. There would be nothing left as he walked away. Taro straightened his jacket a bit as the explosion occurred behind him. It had been a mission well done-becoming a missing ninja had not caused him to lose his touch. A grin flashed across his face-what Kage would ever approve a mission like that? In fact he even forgot that he was getting paid for the job. He trekked back to his camp and took a seat in front of the embers of his fire from the night before. He rekindled the fire and started brewing some orange tea, which was one of his favorites. His head snapped to attention as a hawk flew down and dropped another scroll, which Taro had to catch otherwise it would have fallen into the flames. Ripping open the scroll he smirked. Inside there was a hefty two thousand ryo. Underneath the ryo was another letter:
You have done well. You will be considered for other missions later in your career we will be in contact. Stay safe and alive. –G
Yet again that weird G, but that was of no mater to Taro. What he was rather happy about was that he now had a source of income. Once his tea was done he poured himself a cup. Today he planned on going to the village hidden in the sand and some extra ryo in his pocket would be greatly appreciated especially seeing as before this small job he had been running a bit low on funds. As it was the sun had not even reached its apex, which gave him plenty of time to reach the Sand before night fall.
