Duel (Closed) Empty Duel (Closed)

The mist in the village today was quite thick, nearly completely obscuring the vision of those who were not used to the kind of environment presented by Kirigakure, the Village Hidden in the Mist. All the children had been taken out to the training field of the Ninja Academy in the Hidden Mist Village for a special event that had been kept secret from them for the time it had been. At the moment, Mizuni was standing there, hands retracted into his sleeves and observing his sensei closely, his eye almost completely obscured by the combination of mist and small opening closed around his eye to where it could only be seen by those very close to him. His sensei went on talking, explaining about how they should be excited that the next Genin Exam was to take place soon, and due to that they were going to have a dueling lesson today. Once again, suspiciously like always, Mizuni was called first, this time to fight what Mizuni thought was probably the only boy here with any skill whatsoever as a ninja. The boy's name was Jiku, a tall boy about the age of twelve years old, who was on almost the same level of height as Mizuni, Mizuni being quite tall indeed for his age. Mizuni stepped forward and into the left side of the dueling circle, turning to face Jiku, his opponent. The boy was larger and possibly quite strong, so Mizuni would likely need to make use of his thin and nimble body to avoid Jiku's attacks. But there was one more thing or so that Mizuni had as an advantage over the enemy. Concealed within the thick coat he wore, hidden inside on the front side was a bow and arrows he could take out and use at any time, though those would likely be forbidden to use as they could kill or hurt more than was necessary in this case. But no matter, the battle was about to begin. The call of beginning for the battle was made, and the duel started.

The first movement of each child would technically end the match due to disqualification. But in a real battle of skill and wits, it didn't matter. Which is why no matter the fact they would have already stepped outside the dueling circle, Mizuni and Jiku would continue. The first movement of each child were parallel to each others. Jiku slid to the left quickly, and Mizuni rapidly slid to the right, the two boys watching each others movements all the while. The two boys launched themselves forward at each other, giving punches and jabs and hooks in a skilled barrage with several thumps being the result as their fists and arms collided, an appendage occasionally hitting the mark and delivering a blow to the opposite fighter. The barrage continued and after a few seconds of it, one of Jiku's punches landed a hit directly on the cheek of Mizuni, who skidded back but then launched himself right back into the fray. Mizuni jumped into the air, lunging forward towards Jiku, who drew his fist back and kept it aimed towards Mizuni, who then shot his foot forward towards Jiku. However, he quickly retracted it and instead flipped a hand sign, causing a poof of smoke that dissipated leaving the image of Mizuni in its wake, who landed and lunged forward towards Jiku. Jiku countered by hopping slightly into the air and lashing out with a spinning kick, but Mizuni, with equal speed as the attack he was countering, dodged with a duck and slid to the left. Mizuni continued to weave and jump and slide around Jiku's attacks for quite some time. However, the Mizuni on the ground being nothing but an illusion, just a clone, the real Mizuni now sat upon the roof of the Ninja Academy, gazing down with his wicked eye in a judicious glance over the scene of the battle. Now covered by the thick screen of mist and tracking the chakra signature of Jiku, Mizuni simply and slowly opened his coat and removed his bow, taking an arrow from within and drawing back on the bowstring once the arrow was properly positioned, keeping a patient eye on the target as he continuously moved the bow to keep up with the prey's frustrated movements of attack. The arrow was readied and thirsty for the blood of the prey, as too was the eye of the wielder.

Waiting for the correct time, Mizuni on the roof simply kept his gaze and aim steady on Jiku. Meanwhile, below, clone Mizuni continued to dodge and weave around, under, over, and past the slowly tiring kicks and punches and jabs of the tall boy Jiku. It was apparent now that the task of keeping a steady watch and hit on the clone was becoming frustrating and tiring, cutting down Jiku's confidence slowly. And as the opponent's stamina was knocked down over time, the fake Mizuni that was dodging had now assumed the perfect position. The clone's back was towards the real Mizuni, Jiku ahead of the clone by a few feet and the real Mizuni focused intently with an arrow at the ready. The clone lashed out with a forward jab with the right hand. However, at the same time, the real Mizuni let loose with the arrow he had aimed, the arrow piercing through the air rapidly towards the target. The clone pulled back slightly with the punch, only allowing it to hover a few inches away from Jiku's stomach. But now, burrowed slightly into the spot a few inches above the clone's fist and into the torso of the boy Jiku was now an arrow, standard with a wooden shaft. The boy flew back in a spin and landed far outside the dueling circle. Without a moment to lose, the real Mizuni formed a hand sign quickly and switched places with his clone, the clone disappearing on the roof. Mizuni then lunged forward towards Jiku's body before his sensei and the other children could see what had happened to Jiku, and ripped the arrow from the torso of the boy, knowing it had only been a shallow penetration wound that was non-lethal. Mizuni then quickly stowed his bow and the arrow away back in his coat and flipped backwards into the air, landing on the roof and running off away from the Ninja Academy towards home. Victory had been his that day.
