Suzaku and Kumiko meet and spar.

Kumiko stood outside the entrance to the Training Towers, nibbling idly at an oatmeal cookie. Her amber eyes moved over every inch of the building, taking in every detail. 'I'll be spending a lot of time here, won't I?' she thought to her self. The thought pleased her. She would spend a year in the tower without food or drink if it meant she could someday avenge her parents, wheather they were dead or alive. Someone needed to pay for robbing Komatsu and her of the love that only a parent can give.

The girl sighed. First she would have to find someone to train with, and she doubted her brother would be willing to. Stupid medical training... It's not like it would get him anywhere. 'Mother and Father wanted us to be Anbu, you idiot...' she thought, 'How do you expect to be that powerful when all you do is make medicine and bandage wounds?' Turning away from the tower, Kumiko re-wrapped the cookie in a piece of wax paper and deposited it in a satchel at her waist. The city was so quiet... How would she ever find someone at her level to train with?

Suzaku walked quietly through the silent streets of Tengakure. Having recently returned from a spar which nearly ended his life and a spar which gave him the ability to go further into the bijuu cloak. Neither of which he wanted to happen again. And to prevent this, he had to become stronger. So Suzaku had been training for the last few days relentlessly, almost giving into the Sanbi’s will just to make it through the training session. He had been pushing himself farther then he needed, but it was what he had to gain in order to protect his village and stop all the senseless killing. Suzaku then approached the training tower where he was supposed to train and was shocked to see a young girl sitting there. Silently approaching he noticed she was also a shinobi of Tengakure, which made Suzaku let his guard down and get closer. He then asked the girl a simple question.

“Hello! Why are you at the training tower?”

Kumiko didn't answer at first. She took a moment to study the boy standing before her. He looked roughly her age... Maybe he would be willing to spar? Well... She would have to ask first, wouldn't she? Brushing a lock of hair out of her eyes and resting her other hand on her hip, she smirked at Suzaku, "Why do you think I'm here? To train, Duh. I'd ask you to fight, but you don't look like you could handle me. You're too skinny!"

Turning abruptly, she began to walk slowly toward the tower entrance. Slow enough so that the boy would have time to say something to her before the crossed the threshhold. She hoped her words would goad him into a fight, not scare him away... She always did that. She was rude or mean before she even thought about it. It made her feel bad at times, but not very often. Respect was earned, after all, not given freely!

When she reached the door of the tower, she pulled a kunai from her satchel and looped her finger into the ring at the end, twirling it around as she turned to face Suzaku again. He hand still on her hip, Kumiko stared at the boy intently, amber eyes gleaming with delight at the prospect of testing her abilities.

Hearing those words Suzaku gritted his teeth. He couldn’t handle her? Really? He had fought village leaders, an A ranked missing ninja, and even mastered the legendary bijuu cloak in mere weeks. It appears this young girl wanted to fight. Suzaku grinned at the thought of being able to finally show off his abilities to someone. He might be able to finally use that new bijuu cloak he had acquired as well……. Suzaku then dismissed these thoughts. As one wrong move with that cloak and Suzaku knew that he could end up killing most of the people in the village. Seeing that the girl was now walking towards the towers, Suzaku pulled out a kunai and threw it so that it landed right next to Kumiko, Suzaku then grinned and finally spoke

“I accept your offer……”

Suzaku then rushes towards Kumiko and enters the tower, racing to the top. Reaching it after few moments. Suzaku then waits silently for Kumiko.

Kumiko returned the boy's grin, ignoring the Kunai that landed next to her. If he was dumb enough to leave himself short one weapon, that was his own fault. After Suzaku rushed past her, the girl replaced the kunai in her satchel and turned to follow, matching his speed easily. Even if she lost the fight, Kumiko would enjoy this. It would allow her to learn her own weaknesses.

When she reached the top, she took position opposite Suzaku. She stood fully erect, feet together. Her right side was facing the boy. Her left arm was folded behind her back, the right extended toward her opponent, palm open, facing the ceailing of the tower. 'Remember what Mother taught you, Kumi..' she thought, 'Don't look your opponent in the eye. Look just above center mass. See their arms, their hands, their legs and feet. Predict their moves. When you know where they will strike, do not be there. Get behind them if you can.'

With this in mind, the young girl's eyes narrowed. She became aware of every movement Suzaku made. The rise and fall of his chest as he breathed, the flare of his nostrils. She was determined to win, even if losing was acceptable. She had to become stronger, and this boy was her first stepping-stone in reaching that goal. Nothing would stand in her way.

As Suzaku noticed Kumiko approach he got into a battle ready stance. A kunai behind his back and a battle ready look on his face. He would not lose this battle. Seeing that Kumiko was also in a stance Suzaku made the first move, throwing the kunai and activating the bijuu cloak. Summoning a single tail of chakra behind Suzaku as a turtle like chakra cloak surrounds him. Using this chakra cloak, Suzaku outstretches the arm. Reaching for Kumiko to grab her. While doing this Suzaku starts thinking, maybe he’s going a bit too hard……..He had let out the bijuu cloak fairly quickly and was being a bit reckless. Knowing that any second the sanbi would arrive and try to ruin everything. Dismissing these thoughts, Suzaku continues his assault.

As soon as the kunai left Suzaku's hand, the world seemed to slow down as adrenaline coursed through Kumiko's body. She easily side-stepped the kunai, and began to charge forward, but was brought up short when Suzaku was suddenly cloaked in chakra. He was a Jinchuriki!? Not good... Not good at all. She'd have to fight harder than her best if she was going to win this one. Gritting her teeth, she jumped into action again.

When the arm shot out to grab her, she lept aside, rolling when she landed and returning to her feet. "That was too close." she said, pausing only for a moment before dashing forward again. She whipped out a kunai in each hand, sending them both sailing toward Suzaku. One aimed for his head, the other the center of his chest. Hoping this would at least distract him, Kumiko continued her charge.

Once she was within striking distance, the girl contorted the flow of her chakra, forcing it into her balled up fists. A volley of quick, precise strikes followed, using both hands and feet. These strikes were aimed at Suzaku's shoulders and knees, hoping she could wear him down and make him unable to move as soon as possible. Hopefully, his cloak wouldn't be too much trouble at this close range...

Seeing the kunai flying towards him, Suzaku swings his tail. Easily deflecting the kunai with the tail. He then saw as Kumiko launched many rapid punches at him, taking some of them but shrugging off the damage as the bijuu cloak added more stamina and strength, making her punches seem weak. Using his now added strength, Suzaku launches his fist into Kumiko’s gut. Quickly deactivating the bijuu cloak to lessen the damage. He had to go lightly or he would end up killing the girl.
