Sanji woke up just as the sun began to peer in through his window. Though he'd much rather sleep in, he had enough willpower not to daudle in the act of waking up in the morning, so as good as he felt in bed right now, he decided to rise. Well-toned abs flexed as he sat up from his bed, and threw off the blanket. He spun in his seat and threw his legs off the side of the bed before standing up. Before bothering to get dressed he went to the basin to wash his face. After lathering his hands he scrubbed the soap against his skin before beginning to rinse it off. Occasionally there was that pesky soap droplet that inexplicably remained, and as soon as he opened his eyes it went into his right eye. He growled softly in protest and quickly washed his eye out a little before finally drying his face with a towel placed nearby. Taking his toothbrush in hand, he put a little toothpaste on it and scrubbed his teeth with the brush thoroughly, because he just wouldn't like the embarrassment of going to work on the village gates and giving someone the dragon breath treatment. That and the yuck mouth taste wasn't too savory either. He gargled a bit of water and swished it around before spitting it into the basin, rinsing his toothbrush clean and putting it away.
Sanji emerged from the bathroom still only clad in boxer shorts, which would quickly be rectified as he grabbed his pants and slipped them on, then he grabbed his sash and tied it around his waist, the sash bearing his leaf-engraved forehead protector. Feeling the morning air wasn't that cool, he would forego the shirt entirely and simply sit down to slip on his boots, but not before putting on socks. Once his boots were on and tied he stood once more, grabbing a pair of gloves he'd need to protect his hands with a hard day's work ahead. In a way he found it liberating that ninja were also ordered to help with village repairs, seeing as the ordinary citizenry could come to resent them if they simply ignored such matters, even if a ninja's job is to complete missions and protect the village.
At last, he was ready to depart. But not before he walked downstairs, greeting his mother with a nod and sitting down to breakfast. He never liked brushing his teeth before breakfast, it seemed to defeat the purpose, but he was also hungry, and luckily his mother served him up a quick breakfast. After eating he downed a glass of juice, waved goodbye to his mother and took off out the door as the woman watched him with a smile on her face, shaking her head. Sanji sprinted from his home and headed for the main village gate, using this little run to help wake him up as well as warm up his body a bit, seeing as only a little while ago he had been sleeping.
When he finally arrived at the gate, he could see the foreman barking orders at the others assisting in the repairs. Sanji's job was real clear - he was to help haul larger planks and hold them up so they could be secured into place. It was a good workout for him, the oversized genin always reveling in an opportunity to work on his strength. He started hauling large and very heavy planks on his shoulders, one on each shoulder, which drew some looks from the others around him. He heard a chuckle from the foreman. "Show-off!" the man said. Sanji looked at him with slight confusion, but he just shrugged and continued on to the site where the planks were needed. He held one up until it was secure, and then the other. With that, he went to grab two more and do the same.
Sanji wasn't much of a carpenter so this worked for him just fine, and unlike some ninjas he wasn't too proud to do menial labor. In a strange way he enjoyed it. Again Sanji looked for any excuse to build his body, because ultimately it was his weapon, it was the village's weapon, and that's exactly how he saw it. Quick steel blue eyes jetted over to the source of a commotion as one of the supports on a scaffolding came loose. Sanji then showed that that big body could move too, without hesitation he sprinted to where the scaffolding was about to collapse, and grunted with effort as he held onto the failing portions, literally supporting the weight of 3 men and their tools until the scaffolding was repaired and secured. "You're a lifesaver, Sanji!" said one of the men. A curt nod met the man's words as he quietly went back to work, preferring not to drink in idle accolades, after all there was a job to be done and the faster they got it done, the faster this village would be properly secure once more.
5 hours of work elapsed and at long last the offending door that had been all but destroyed was repaired. With a light wooden groan they shut the village's big heavy doors, and cheers among the workers rang out. Sanji met up with the foreman and he was handed a letter that would act as the formal signification of a mission well done. With that the tall genin turned and walked away to go collect his reward for a hard day's work.
