Mission:
As per usual, Sanji perused the file and took notes as needed on information he'd be able to use to further the investigation into an illegal animal fighting ring operating right inside Konoha. It made him wonder how effective their security and law enforcement detail really was in the village if they couldn't nail down such things, or if the individuals tasked with such things even cared, feeling they had a higher calling just because they were ninjas. Rampant arrogance and egos abound when individuals are given more power than they deserve. This was a mission Sanji could get into, being the animal and nature lover that he is. So without hesitation he handed the file back, accepted the mission, and started out to investigate. The problem was he had little to go on except eyewitness accounts of dead animals being discarded, so he made a point to talk to those witnesses and see if he could nail down any consistent locations for such things taking place, and whether he could perhaps catch someone in the act and use their appearance to infiltrate the ring.
First stop was the house of an elderly woman who sold herbs, so she was often permitted outside the village to gather herbs, what she couldn't grow herself. It seemed odd that she'd be allowed out if her description held water, but as he knocked on the door and she answered, he quickly saw why. On a sash around her waist she still wore her own Konoha forehead protector, and Sanji had no doubt based on other elders he had seen that she could most likely handle herself quite well in battle if need be." Hello, I'm here to - " he said, being cut off." I know why you're here, son. Do you know where white arva grass grows?" she responded, a shake of his head was given in response." It can't be cultivated manually, believe me I've tried. So when its in season I go out and pick all I can, luckily it can be dried and kept for a year or so, so I'm able to keep enough on hand to supply our medical staff in the village with it, and I sell some in my shop. Anyway, when I was out picking some one day recently, I saw some guys unloading animal carcasses and just chucking them into a ditch. I hid myself so they wouldn't notice me and then I checked it out, the animals looked like they had been torn apart by other animals. At first I didn't think much of it, but then I saw them again a day later. It wasn't as if something in the area was preying on pets, so I could only assume it was people involved in that fighting ring I've heard tale of from some others in the village. If you're looking for leads, that would be a good place to start." Sanji was amazed at the useful information and took notes the whole time she was talking before bowing respectfully." I don't know how deep you've been told to go, but hit 'em good once for me if you get the chance. I can't stand animal cruelty." She says. Sanji smiled and nodded." With pleasure. Thank you, baa-san." he says, before departing from her company and heading out to where she told him to go.
When he approached from a concealed angle, he heard some hearty laughing, and was lucky to see two burly men chucking more animals into the ditch. The smell of death wasn't there, as apparently they had taken to burying them recently to hide the stench of death. It was out of the eyes of normal spotters so it seemed this place was ideal for them to hide their cruel behavior. He wanted nothing more than to kill them right then and there, but he held himself back and instead chose to follow them. As expected they didn't enter back into the village in a normal way, that would be too suspicious. Instead they went inside a concealed door leading down to a tunnel outside the village in the treeline. This was his chance, so he used 3 seals - rat, serpent, hare - and kneaded his chakra to create a carpet of chakra along the ground to conceal the sound of footsteps. Running up behind them swiftly and silently even over gravel that would give him away otherwise, he grabbed their necks and choked them both out at once by squeezing the arteries feeding blood to their brains. He then used their own rope to tie them up and their own bandanas to gag them. Then he formed seals again and used Henge no jutsu to impersonate one of them. He then went down into the tunnel and was guided by torchlight to an arena filled with yelling and cheering. Before him was a sickening display as two dogs fought bitterly, both bloody. It made him want to deliver his own personal brand of justice to everyone of them. Just then, he heard a voice yelling in his direction, and the previous 'losers' were shown to him." Gama! Get rid of these next!" so he nodded and went to take the animals to their final resting place, but as he left he decided to go somewhere else.
Sanji delivered the fallen animals to a grassy field, and dug each one of them a grave of their own, laying them inside and covering them up. His heart wrenched with each animal he buried. As a show of respect he even took the time to fashion simple grave markers for them. Amidst his sadness, his rage grew to astronomical levels. It took everything he had to calm down. With great haste he ran back to where his two previous targets were just coming to. He literally dragged them back to the village by their hair, hearing their muffled screams of agony as he pulled them along cruelly and re-entered the village. Taking them to the interrogation center he looked at the jounin in charge, and powerfully tossed the pair hard against the wall literally by swinging them by their hair, much of which came off in his hand." These are two who are part of that sick animal fighting ring. Please take them away from me before I slaughter them and anyone like them." The jounin raised his hand." Take it easy." he said, to which Sanji growled." You're asking the impossible. I'm going to report my findings, but I want to be on the team that takes these bastards down once and for all." The jounin still spoke diplomatically, and subtly signaled to his subordinates to back him up with the hand behind his back out of Sanji's view. It seemed Sanji did have a bit of a reputation if the jounin felt he might need help subduing him should his anger spiral out of control. Sanji had already been scolded once for using excess force in an arrest, and stories had gotten around about how he literally broke a man's leg off and proceeded to beat him with it. If mission guidelines had been more strict he would've been seriously reprimanded and punished, but since they weren't, he wasn't given anything more than an ear beating." I understand your frustration, and I will recommend what you desire, though I can't make any guarantees." Sanji curtly nodded and went off to collect his reward, and he'd probably have to go destroy something just to calm down.
