After a long 8 hours of sitting at his desk in the academy, all that Banteki wanted to do was go home and sleep or play ninja with his friends. But Banteki also wanted to be a great shinobi, and great shinobi didn't go home and "play" they trained to make themselves better. Coming from the great clan of the Kaguya and possessing the powerful bloodline Shikotsumyaku, Banteki knew better than anybody else that with great power comes great responsibility. He knew that if he was ever to be the best, he would have to make many tough choices, and this was the first. Banteki decided he wanted to make the most of his training and did not want a bunch of annoying sensei telling him what to do and how to do it. He waited until all the teachers and students had left to go home, before sneaking back into the classroom. Driven by rumors of a mysterious scroll that the teacher kept in his desk, Banteki snuck into the room and slowly opened the drawer to the teacher's desk. Rumor had it that there was a blue and white scroll inside the teacher's desk containing all there was to know about chakra, a topic the students had just started learning about in class that day. The other students said that the scroll is what all Konoha shinobi are taught from when they are young, but that there are parts of the scroll that are left out of the lesson plan and that the teachers don't want the students to know about. Banteki rummaged around in the drawer for a few minutes before claiming his prize, the blue and white scroll labeled, "The Secrets of Chakra".
"Haha," Banteki laughed to himself "Those other slackers in my class are all probably at home playing right now, I guess I'm the only one with real motivation, they wouldn't even have the guts to attempt something like this!" Banteki felt a great sense of triumph untying and unraveling the scroll, following a sense of despair when he realized how long it was. "What!," he thought to himself "I have to read all this! It's three times longer than me!" At this point, Banteki was starting to feel regrets, as he did not like to read in the least bit, but again, he knew that great shinobi must do things they dislike in order to get stronger. So Banteki, with a sigh, began to read the scroll. He read about how chakra was needed to perform even the most basic of techniques and that chakra is gained through exercise and experience. He read about how to mould chakra and that once it is moulded it can be channeled to any of the 361 chakra points, or tenketsu, in the body. He read that through multiple methods, the most common of which is using hand seals, chakra can be used to perform feats that wouldn't otherwise be possible, such as walking on water and performing jutsu. He read that by moulding different ratios of the two energies, different types of chakra could be formed. He read that all shinobi have a natural affinity towards 1 element of chakra, but many have the capacity to use more than 1 element. He read about the 5 different (basic) elements of chakra, wind, lightning, fire, water, and earth. He read that wind was weak to fire, fire to water, water to earth, earth to lightning, and lightning to wind. He read that some ninja, possessing a type of kekkai genkai called an advanced chakra nature, could create new elements. There was a list of all known advanced chakra natures which Banteki read and memorized. He read about yin and yang chakra, something not usually taught to academy students, and how they are mixed to perform techniques. He read that all living beings possessed normal chakra, which was produced in chakra-producing organs and flowed through the body via the chakra circulatory system, which contained pressure points called tenketsu. He read all this and more, he read about shape manipulation, nature manipulation, different amounts of chakra some ninja possess and can use, he thought he knew everything about chakra after getting through the "Normal Chakra" section of the scroll. He glanced at the clock on the wall. 11:30 it read. "What!?" he thought to himself "I've been sitting here reading for 8 and a half ours! Mom's gonna kill me, I was supposed to be home 6 and a half ours ago! He contemplated running home now and trying to sneak into bed unnoticed. He briefly wondered why nobody had come looking for him after being gone for so long, but forgot all about this when he saw a new section of the scroll. Before this part of the scroll there were the words "STOP: NOT PART OF LESSON PLAN; DO NOT TEACH TO STUDENTS" written in large read letters. Curious, and a bit afraid, Banteki decided to continue. Hey he had broken a lot of other rules before, how bad could this be, right? So he fixed his eyes on a section that read "Other Types of Chakra". The first category of this section talked about tailed-beast chakra, something that Banteki had never heard of before. He read that there are 9 tailed-beasts in the world, ancient demons with immense supplies of chakra. He read that they were actually nothing more than extremely immense supplies of chakra that were so big that they had taken on their own mind and body. He read that they were once one giant beast called the Ten-Tails, but that a legendary, ancient shinobi known as the Sage of Six Paths, used a kekkai genkai he possessed called the rinnegan to divide this beast's into nine smaller beings and seal it's body within the moon. He read that there were now 9 beasts, The one-tailed Shukaku, The two-tailed Matatabi, the three-tailed Isobu, the four-tailed Son-Goku, the five-tailed Kokuo, the six tailed Saiken, the seven-tailed Chomei, the eight-tailed Gyuki, and the nine-tailed Kurama. There was a list of each beast's jinchuriki throughout history dating back to ancient times, ending in the present. The present Jinchuriki of the 9-Tails was Echo Uchiha, Viper Uchiha's Asgard held the 8-Tails, Raito Yamaki with the 7-Tails, Viper Uchiha with the 6-Tails, Itsuka's STM World held the 5-Tails, Kurisu with the 4-Tails, Suzaku Shina with the 3-Tails, Itsuka's STM World also held the 2-Tails, Amane Uchiha held the 1-Tail. He read that Jinchuriki can tap into the Tailed Beast within them's power, but doing so may be harmful to the Jinchuriki. He read about the different degrees of control that Jinchuriki could have over their Bijuu and the different powers they could attain with their Beast and the powers unique to each beast. The next type of chakra he read about was Senjutsu or Sage chakra. Banteki read all about how this chakra was needed to perform senjutsu, techniques using energy found in nature itself. He read that senjutsu apparently increased the power of all the user's techniques, as well as their basic strength, speed, and stamina. Senjutsu chakra was made by mixing the user's physical energy, spiritual energy, and the natural energy from the earth around them. All three of these energies must be equally balanced, so the higher the user's chakra storage, the more natural energy they can add to the mix. Only those with immense amounts of chakra can enter the actual Sage Mode state. One must also sit completely still to harness natural energy. Finally, Banteki read about some types of chakra that did not fascinate him as much as the first two. He read about the Star Chakra of Hoshigakure, The Gift of the Hermit Group Chakra used by the Fire Temple monks just outside of Konoha, Dark Chakra, created by the Zero-Tails that fed off negative emotions of human beings, he read about Priestess Chakra, which did not fascinate him at all, and some other uneventful chakra types. Banteki closed the scroll, appalled by everything that he learned from the scroll. He contemplated pocketing the scroll and keeping it for himself, but thought better of this idea and returned the scroll to his teacher's desk. Upon opening the desk, he noticed a pack of chakra paper, a type of paper he read about in the scroll. This paper was made from trees grown and fed with chakra and the paper was supposed to detect the user's natural chakra nature affinity upon touch: wind split the paper in two, water made the paper damp, lightning crumpled the paper, fire burned it to ashes, and earth turned the paper into dirt. Banteki tentatively extracted a piece of the 2x2 paper from the package, upon contact with his fingers, the paper immediately split in two with a startling whooshing, tearing sound. Banteki was excited because he had read that wind nature was a rarity among the five chakra elements, it was performed by making chakra as sharp and thing as possible and was very effective in short-mid ranged techniques. Banteki glanced at his watch again, taking note that the time was 3 a.m. in the morning, there would be about another 3 hours before the early spring sun began to creep up behind the tree tops. A bit concerned that nobody had come searching for him yet, Banteki contemplated heading home, but decided to get an even bigger head start on his training before school the next morning. Banteki decided to attempt the first exercise mentioned in the scroll. He sat cross-legged in the middle of the floor and shut his eyes. He envisioned each of his 361 tenketsu and his chakra flowing through them. He sat in this position for a good 20 minutes, this image in his mind, trying to maintain balance between spiritual and physical energy, he formed a basic Ram handseal. After another 10 minutes in this position, he began to feel an ethereal energy coursing through his veins, he began to feel more alive, more awake. He could feel his energy swirling around him. He had finally awakened his awareness of his chakra. Just as thin feeling of power started to fill his mind and body, the door to the academy was slammed open and his teacher stumbled in, panting, hands on knees. Startled, Banteki hopped up from the floor, a look of guilt on his face. This state of panic was met by a good-natured chuckle from his sensei.
"Damn," he said "you really had us worried."
"Haha," Banteki laughed, beginning to let his guard down "what took you so long?"
"Well your mother's been worried sick all night, we organized a search party and have been searching the forests and downtown for hours."
"Why didn't you think to look here? I haven't left since class got out."
"Haha, I thought I had locked the door, I only just realized that I hadn't. So..." Banteki could sense his sensei getting closer to the question that was really on his mind "What have you been up to in here for so long?"
"Just uh..." Banteki gulped" training.
"Hmm..." his Sensei replied. He knew that if word got out about him leaving the door to the academy unlocked, he would be disciplined harshly. "How about this? If you tell everybody that I locked the door and you were just hiding in a tree all night, I won't tell anybody that you read the Sacred Chakra Information Scroll. Deal?"
"Deal." Banteki replied, relieved.
The relief showed on his Sensei's face too, as his rigid posture relaxed a bit and a grin crept onto his face.
"Now c'mon," his sensei said "Let's get you home to your mom."
He put his arm around Banteki and Sensei and student made their way into the dawn, the sun just creeping up above the horizon. Banteki felt like a new person, a wealth of information in his head, he was filled with a whole new motivation to unlock his full potential and become the most powerful shinobi to ever live. What he learned tonight would most certainly aid him on his journey.

Today was Saturday, a much needed day off for Banteki. While he worked very hard training 24/7, all shinobi need breaks, which is why Banteki cherished his weekends so much. Monday through Friday, Banteki got up at 6 AM, trained for 2 hours, went to the Academy at 8 AM, had school until 5 PM, and stayed out training until 10 PM, so he had a pretty rigorous schedule, leaving no time to relax. However, this weekend Banteki had no intentions of relaxing, after his new discovery of chakra a few days prior, he was eager to train as much as he could. Banteki got up at the bright and early time of 5:30 AM, bright eyed and eager to train. He had his mother fix him a very large breakfast of miso soup, natto, nori, tamagoyaki, and tsukemono, and packed some broiled and salted salmon in a container for lunch. His mother was very surprised that Banteki was up this early and leaving the house to train on the weekend, but she approved of him honing his skills. Banteki kissed her goodbye and set out on the road to the small training area behind the academy. he thought about using the regular training grounds, but decided not to, as he was still intimidated by all the older and more skilled shinobi present there. By the time he got to the academy's training grounds, Banteki's watch read 6:00. "Perfect," he thought "this gives me 16 hours to train." While it seemed like a very unrealistic number to aspire to, Banteki was determined to meet this mark and train non-stop until 10 PM. He decided that his first course of action would be to train using the leaf concentration technique. This was a technique where a shinobi lay on there back and placed a single leaf on their forehead and focused all their chakra on it. This was an effective way of learning to concentrate the user's chakra to desired points in their body, as well as heightening their chakra awareness and overall concentration skills. Banteki laid down on his back and placed a single, small leaf from the ground on his forehead. He closed his eyes and envisioned the chakra in his body as blue, ethereal energy. He could feel it coursing from his heart, through his chakra circulatory system in smooth, flowing currents. The chakra naturally flowed through each of his 361 tenketsu, making its way through every section of his body. Banteki opened his eyes and concentrated very hard on the leaf, trying to redirect all of his chakra flow to that single point on his forehead. He could feel his chakra starting to slow down, but was still having a hard time getting it to go directly to that spot on his forehead. His chakra flow was held at a brief standstill for a few seconds, but with immense concentration, Banteki started to feel it slowly and sluggishly trickle towards his forehead. At this point, Banteki was at such a high degree of concentration that he felt like his brain would burst. The veins on his temple were popping out, his eyes were bloodshot, and he gritted his teeth. Slowly, gradually, his chakra gained speed on it’s path to his forehead. He felt his chakra beginning to ebb to the spot on his forehead where he would later be wearing a Leaf Village forehead protector. All of a sudden, as if somebody had flicked a switch, all of the chakra he had been trying to control flowed into that spot and once, sending the leaf spiraling off of his head. Ecstatic, Banteki hopped up from the ground, in awe of what he just did. Most, of the students in his class didn’t even know about the biological properties of chakra and how to mold it, and they were a good 2 or 3 years older than him! Words could not describe how optimistic Banteki was about his progression thus far, however, he was not yet done training for the day. He took a quick glance at his watch, taking note of the time, 1:27. “Wow,” he thought to himself “that took awhile.” He took a quick break to eat a quick lunch of the salmon he brought, and then decided he would practice the tree-climbing technique, which they had only just started to train in class. This technique involved focusing a fixed amount of chakra to the soles of the user’s feet, allowing them to stick to the surface and walk up it. This skill was pretty hard to learn and get good at, considering that if the user focused too much chakra, they would break the bark and be propelled in the opposite direction, yet if they used too little chakra, they would lose their footing and fall off of the tree. Despite this technique’s difficulty, Banteki was confident in his newfound abilities and had the feeling he would be able to pull it off. Banteki stood on the ground at the base of a large tree, feet a little more than shoulder with apart. He formed the ram hand sign and started to focus his chakra to the souls of his feet; directing the flow in a similar manner to the way he directed it to his forehead. Confident that he had gathered the right amount of chakra to his feet, Banteki charged at the tree. The time it took him to take the 8 steps to the tree felt like an eternity, but when he finally got there, he planted his right foot into the tree, hoping to smoothly glide up, unhindered. Well, things didn’t go that way. He had focused way too much chakra into that foot and broke the bark of the tree, creating a large footprint, and was sent flying backwards, landing sprawled out on his back. While the fall shocked and winded him, Banteki got up, back onto his feet and made another attempt. This time, Banteki focused much less chakra to the desired area, hoping not to get thrown backwards from the tree this time. Banteki stood again, feet a little more than shoulder width apart ram sign upon his fingers. Banteki ran at the tree, full speed, confident that this time he would make it all the way to the top. About three steps up the tree, Banteki slid down and landed with his feet on the ground, he had not used enough chakra. Banteki checked his watch again, and was shocked to see that it was already 4:00. He had not realized how long it took him to mould the chakra to his feet. Banteki trained his tree climbing for 6 more hours until 10:00, by the end of the day he could get a little more than halfway up the tree already. He was proud of himself. He called it quits an hour early because of how exhausted he was. He took the long winding road home, kissed his mother goodnight, crashed into his bed and fell into a deep sleep.
