Banteki heard the proctor call him out from the crowd and his heart started beating very fast. He knew that his fate as a shinobi rested on these few moments, his success in these few moments would determine his success in his life. He stood up, a little wobbly, and made his way to the front of the classroom. Normally, he was very confident in front of his classmates, even cocky at times, but now he could feel their eyes searing into him, a look of great expectation on their face; after all, he was the top of his class at ninjutsu. He rolled his neck a little, just to stretch it out, and took a few seconds to think of the two jutsu his proctor had just asked him to perform. The first, the Henge no Jutsu or Transformation Technique, was a very basic technique, they had been going over it in class for a few months, and Banteki had been training it on his free time. The technique allowed the user to take the form of another person, animal, or object around their size. This was one of the more difficult of the E-rank justu that they had been practicing in class, as it required a constant emission of chakra while maintaining the desired form, not to mention having to get the form completely correct and interacting with the environment, which will most likely put some mental strain on the user. Banteki took a closer look at the proctor, the jounin called Mr. Uchigawa. He examined him closely, the deep green flak jacket, the blue garments underneath it, the Konohagakure no Sato headband wrapped around his forehead, his sandals, even the small, crescent shaped scar on the side of his right thumb. Banteki formed the necessary hand signs for performing the jutsu, dog, boar, ram, and got his chakra coursing through his body. He closed his eyes and envisioned everything that he had noticed about the man right down to the very last detail. He allowed his chakra to envelope him and swirl around him. There was a poof of white smoke, when it cleared, Banteki was clear to see. He looked like Mr. Uchigawa right down to the last hair on the man's head, despite the pressure, Banteki had pulled off the jutsu perfectly. His classmates were a bit intimidated by the standards set for them for today's exam, they gazed at him in awe. The proctor merely nodded his head, stone-faced. Banteki transformed back in a poof of smoke. He was proud of himself, and grateful that all of his rigorous training had payed off. Banteki now set his mind on the second jutsu he had been asked to perform, the Bunshin no Jutsu, or Clone technique. This was one of the more simple and easier to use of the academy technique. Banteki had pretty much mastered it. He knew that this technique would be detrimental to his career as a shinobi. Due to his great ingenuity, Banteki was already able to use this technique in combination with others to form a powerful close-range fighting style. This technique merely created intangible copies of the user, they were not able to attack and once they came into contact with something they would dissipate. Banteki knew that he could learn a number of much more powerful techniques derived from this simple E-rank technique. Banteki had already become so familiar with this technique, that he could tell a clone from a regular person, due to the fact that they did not disturb the environment around them or even make shadows. Banteki recalled the hand seals required to perform this technique, ram, snake, tiger, and formed them in quick succession. On the last seal, Banteki's chakra began to swell inside of him, he focused on making the chakra take the form of a clone that looked just like him. He created a mental image of himself in his head, brown hair, brown eyes, elegant face, white, v-neck t-shirt, cargo shorts, ninja sandals, and a black leather jacket. He made his chakra take this form, and with a poof of white smoke, a clone appeared beside him, resembling this image perfectly. He made the clone kick and punch the air a few times, just for effect, before making it dissipate with another poof of white smoke. He looked up at his classmates, staring at him, their eyes wide with awe. He did not know why they were so impressed, if they had been paying attention and putting in the necessary time, they should be able to perform the technique just as well. He realized that they were just so impressed because he was first to go. He looked at his proctor, still stone-faced, his facial expression did not give away a single thing about what he thought of Banteki's performance, in fact he looked a bit bored. Banteki waited with bated breath, was he going to tell him his results already? He watched as Mr. Uchigawa reviewed some notes he had taken while Banteki was displaying his knowledge. Mr. Uchigawa then looked up at Banteki. Time seemed to stop. Banteki stopped breathing. His face was red. Here it was...
