Gazing out at the Sea Empty Gazing out at the Sea

Mon Nov 19, 2012 10:38 pm
It had been some time since Ymir went out and gazed at the sea. By some time, it's been about twelve hours. He had just finished some training and he was feeling a bit withdrawn. He sat in the sand and did his usual routine of getting one of his kunai out and sketching in the sand. "What a lovely day to be in the Mist Village," He thought to himself. He wondered if anyone would come by. Not really caring, he gazed out at the sea, deep in thought.

Gazing out at the Sea Empty Re: Gazing out at the Sea

This was Jinn's first time at the sea in years. He hated being there since too many people were always around it. Though he did often come at night. Jinn walked along the sand and cringed as he felt the sand get between his toes. "This sucks." He says while turning around, headed out of the area irritated and mad at the sand, but then something caught his eye. There was a person sitting down doodling in the sand. He walks over and stops just short of the person. "Ello, my name is Jinn who are you?" Jinn says to the kid. He was eager to share his new technique he had created, so if the kid was a ninja he would teach it to him.

Gazing out at the Sea Empty Re: Gazing out at the Sea

As Ymir was grazing out at the sea, he heard an unfamiliar voice call out to him. Being that he didn't have many friends, he was intrigued as to why the stranger was approaching him. The boy told Ymir that his name was Jin and asked to whom he was speaking. Ymir responded in a low, monotoned yet somewhat friendly voice,"Hi, My name is Ymir of the Yuki Clan. It's nice to meet you." Ymir, being so withdrawn since his grandmother died, showed little emotion to this new acquaintance, yet he let a smile slip from his lips.

Ymir Yuki, Jinn repeated in his head. Jinn could tell that the smile was forced and he could also tell that the kid had been through a lot. Jinn would unveil his ninjato and hold it in his left hand. He would eye it carefully and throw it harmlessly towards the kid. "You can have this...if you agree to take part in some training." Jinn would say once the sword was caught. Jinn knew now more than ever that he would share his technique with the kid. Though it was out of curiosity and sympathy for the kid, he could tell that he had been through a lot and Jinn knew that feeling since he was raised as an orphan growing up alone and isolated from others.

Gazing out at the Sea Empty Re: Gazing out at the Sea

Ymir reached out and caught the sword. The stranger told him about some training he had to complete to keep the sword. Ymir wondered what kind of training would be needed. Ymir rose to his feet and faced Jinn and said,"What kind of training?" Ymir was a bit worried as to why this stranger would choose to train someone he'd never met. He had heard stories of higher ranking Ninja of the Mist taking advantage of the lower Genin. Ymir asked,"Why me?"

Ymir Yuki wrote:"What kind of training?"

Jinn would smile slightly as the kid asked him what kind of training. "Nothing too hard..just a little sword technique I came up with a while ago." Jinn would smile and wait for the next question. Which would be expected since he was a stranger to the boy.

Ymir Yuki wrote:"Why me?"

Jinn would smile and say, "No reason, you just happened to be here at the right time." Jinn would walk forwards towards a small palm tree, that was standing on the sand. "Let me show you." Jinn would say as he bent his knees and moved his left hand over towards his right side, where his sword resided in its sheath. Jinn would quickly pull his sword out of his sheath and using all of his speed he would slice the middle of the tree. He would turn his back and walk towards Ymir while sheathing his sword. "Watch this." Jinn would say as he looked at the palm tree. At first it would appear that he had not touched the tree at all, but a few seconds later the tree would slide apart and fall to the ground. "The name of this technique is 'Drawn Sword'." Jinn would say as he eyed the damage his ninjato inflicted to the palm tree. "This is what I will teach you." Jinn would say, hoping that the kid would accept his offer.

Ymir listened to the responses of the stranger in approval. He watched as Jinn pulled his sword from its sheath and performed the new technique. Ymir watched in amazement as the palm tree slide apart and fell to the ground. Intrigued by what had just happened, Ymir said the following words,"How do I start?"

Jinn would begin to think of ways to teach the kid. "Can't do that .....especially not that." Jinn would say pacing back and forth. Finally a light bulb turned on in his head. "Got it." Jinn would say as he looked out into the sea. "This technique is simple, and you should learn it rather quickly. All you have to do is effectively hit the targets I throw at you." Jinn would say as he dug into the pouch on his side. He would then pull out three pronged kunai. "If you can deflect these with that sword I gave you then you will learn the technique and once you do, you will dominate anyone slower than you." Jinn would say, with a smirk on his face. He would jump backwards about five meters. He would then spin the three pronged kunai on his fingers, "Let me know when you are ready." Jinn would say, offering the kid enough time to prepare himself.

Gazing out at the Sea Empty Re: Gazing out at the Sea

Tue Nov 20, 2012 11:08 am
Ymir, being already calmed by his morning ritual of gazing out at the sea, was ready for whatever this new person would throw at him. He was excited about learning something new. Being a prodigy of the Hidden Mist Village, he learned things rather easily graduating the academy at the age of 10. He griped the sword in his hand and rose it in his battle stance. "Ready!" He exclaimed.

Gazing out at the Sea Empty Re: Gazing out at the Sea

Tue Nov 20, 2012 11:29 am
With the kunai still spinning on Jinn's fingers, Jinn would throw the kunai forwards at the kid, the kunai would be moving at half of Jinn's full strength, but still strong enough to kill the kid if it were to hit him. Jinn had confidence that the kid would be able to deflect the first kunai though. While the first kunai was still flying at the kid, Jinn would quickly throw the other two he had at the kid, in an attempt to increase Ymir's reaction speed, which would be needed to learn the technique. Jinn would wait to see if the kid could deflect the kunai and learn the technique or be hit by the kunai and die. A swordsmen must face these life or death situations in order to improve their strength. Jinn would think, assuring himself that Ymir would be able to deflect the kunai, thus learning the technique.
