Vergil's missions (C)
Fri Jan 25, 2013 10:05 pm
- Spoiler:
- Mission Name: Missing Lunch
Rank: C
Type: Intel
Character Requirements: None
Word Count Requirements: 600
Repeatable? Yes
Reward: 700 Ryo
Task: Someone has been stealing food from both the members of the village, citizen and shinobi alike, and the shops. Find out who said person is and report who the person is, and where he is hiding. Make sure to not be caught or else the person may run.
Vergil walkd through the streets of Sunagakure, his shoulders square and his eyes focused entirely on the people and objects around him. He had recently started on his set of C rank missions. The D rank missions were easy and caused little to no effort on Vergil. He expected and hoped that the C rank missions would be much more of a challenge to him. That way he could strees his skills to their limit. Just so he could see where he was exactly and how much he had improved. It had not been long since he had returned from his spar with the shinobi known as Xuro. It was very entertaining and challenging. Vergil wanted to get better so that the next time he faced Xuro he would be stronger and even more of a challenge to him. Vergil finally arrived in front of a shinobi. The man was a lot shorter than Vergil, who stood above 6 feet, Vergil stared don at the man impatiently and waited for his mission to be given to him as requested.
"Ahh, Vergil is it? Yes I have you here..Your mission today is to capture a very popular thief in the village. Yes, this man has been stealing food and we need you to report to us where he is hiding. This mission is intel after all..If you happen to disobey by not just gathering the intel then your mission will be failed and you shall recieve no ryo.."
Vergil payed attention to each word that was spoken and he took everything seriously. Though he was a bit angry at the fact that he could not punish...capture the thief. Though as the small man said, the mission was indeed intel. So he had to expect to just be gathering information for the meanwhile. Vergil leapt onto a nearby roof. Startling the citizens below him. He did not care at all though, as he ran through the village leaping from roof to roof as his eyes scanned the civilians to make sure that he did not pass the thief on an accident. It was not long before he saw something..odd.
There was a man running quickly through the village. The odd thing about it was that, as he ran he was dropping donuts. It was obvious this man was the thief. Vergil body flickered, intercepting the mans path. He stared at him his byakugan observing and noting the mans weak chakra signature. The man began to move towards Vergil. Vergils first thought was to attack the man and end the mission, but he remembered that the mission was intel. He let the man run into him, knocking him onto the ground..he let the man get away. At night Vergil stood outside of the house the man lived in. He watched through a window as the man happily fed his children. Was this truly what society had come too? The fact that a seemingly honest man had to steal to get food was astonoshing to Vergil. He had known that the world was corrupt all his life, but now that he had the power to do something he was hesitent in his descison. Should he let the man free and report to his superiors that the mission was a failure? Or should he do his 'job' and turn in the man? Either way at the end of the action the world would stil be corrupt. Vergil was just in a way prolonging the inevitable. Soon his descison was made. In Vergil's eyes the man had done the right thing, in stealing the food, but the village did not see it that way. Still he had to do his duty. Vergil returned back and reported everything he had experienced, regarding the mission, in that day.

Task: There have been reports that there have been animal fights somewhere in the village, your job is to find out where the arena for the fights are and to investigate it, try not to be caught.
Vergil looked through the window of his small cabin. He watched the villagers as they made their rounds within the village. Taking care of their chores and other things. Vergil walked towards a small desk in the corner of his home. On top of the desk was a small sheet of paper. Vergil sat down in the chair next to the desk, the chair creeking underneath his weight. Vergil began to read the details of his mission once more. It was another Intel mission. Meaning he could not be seen or spotted if so, he was in risk of being compromised and failing the mission. Vergil took all of this in as he read the details once more. All he had to do was report the location of a group of animal fights that are occuring in the village, without getting caught. The only thing that kept Vergil from rushing strainght into the mission, was the sun. He knew that he would be easily detected during the day and it would be better to wait for night to arrive. That way his movements would be shielded by the darkness. In the meanwhile Vergil would be inside his mind thinking of things to kill time. This would be his second C rank mission and for some reason the level of difficulty was not what he expected. He expected things to be harder and his opponents and the criminals to be much more lethal and challenging. Unfortunately, thinga were not as he expected. As far as everythign was going he was only doing intel based mission. Which required no effort, other than to stay hidden. He hoped as he continued to do missions they would be more difficult. Hopefully he could meet someone that interested him.
Soon, as wanted, night flushed over the sky. Vergil exited his house at that moment he quickly began to walk through the village. Alerting his senses he listened carefully for anything that would alert him. He wondered as he was walking why the mission was c rank. 'They are just animals' Vergil thought as he searched. Whatever though, as long as he got his reward ryo and the mission was done he did not care. Vergil heard the slight sound of barking as he passed one house. He stopped walking and begin to listen more carefully. As assumed he soon heard muffled shouts within the house. He activated his byakugan and saw through the house. With his Byakugan having been trained to its full potential he could easily make out each and every person within the building. Their chakra signatured were weak, which meant that they were not experienced ninjas. Vergil smirked as he thought about walking straight through the front door and killing them all, but this would result in a failed mission and he needed the ryo. He sighed as he listened quietly, pressing his ear against a wall he was able to make out each word being said clearly, as if the men were directly in front of him.
"I bet 500 ryo on the black one. Yeah he's sure to win. Just look at the teeth on 'em. Sharp enough that they can bite through metal easily." Vergil then heard another man begin to speak, this man sounded more like a leader. "Has everyone collected their bets. I wish you all good luck. OK..., let the fight begin!" Vergil soon heard the clanking of metal, almost like a cage was being opened. Soon after that he heard the sound of more furocious barking. He listened until the dog fight ended. He was sure to report this to a shinobi and whatever happened after that he did not care. As long as he got the ryo for the boring, time consuming mission. Vergil reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a cigarette. He studied it with his eyes before he placed it between his lips. He then lit it with a lighter. Placing the lighter back into his pocket he walked away, smoke trailing behind him. This was a new habit he was beginning to build upon. He knew smoking was bad for his lungs, but it was just so addictive!

Task: The village hasn't been receiving shipments of resources from the farmers not too far from the village. The village shinobi are unable to make any contact with the farmers, your job is to go and find out what the trouble is, and make sure the village receives the shipments soon.
One might have been able to guess from within Sunagakure, that everything was alright. The citizens all looked happy as they shopped through the markets within the village. Though there was one thing that they might have been completely unaware of. This was that the village was slowly running low on supplies. The farmers around the village that have been known to always be productive, had for some reason begun to stop shiping in goods to the village. Vergil was ordered to investigate this before it became a serious problem. Vergil walked through the forest, a cigaretted lit between his lips. The smoke lifting up into the air. He inhaled the fumes into his lungs and savored the stale taste. He heard the animals around him moving freely through the woods. 'I wonder if they have a democracy of some sort.' Vergil randomly thought as he walked through the forest. Soon he saw a large cabin ahead of him. Surrounding the cabin was a gated fence and inside the fence were cows and other farm animals such as pigs and the sort. He leapt over the fence easily. As he approached the front door of the farm house, he deeply inhaled the cigarette. He then dropped it to the ground and stomped ontp it. He did not want the farmers opening the door to a smoking teen.
Vergil knocked on the door a few times rhymetically. Still no one answered. Getting a bit annoyed with the way things were progressing Vergil bent down and picked up a small wire. He placed the wire within the lock of the door and began to break into the house. He was easily able to do it. The first thing that caught his eye was the pool of blood within the house. He immediateky activated his Byakugan and began to walk through the house taking slow and calculated steps. There appeared to have been an intrusion and by the looks of it, someone had lost a lot of blood. Vergil smiled as he walked through the house. This was exactly what he was hoping for. A mission where he could get his hands a bit dirty. He heard a noise behind him and in an instant he reached at his side. His chained kama ringing in the air as Vergil turned around throwing it at whomever was behind him. It was a masked man. The chained kama rested around the man's neck and if he moved even an inch Vergil would pull on both ends of the chain and strangle the man, beheading him if the blades cut him. "Who are yo and why are you here?" Vergil said as he stared into the man's eyes. The man gasped and remained silent. Vergil squiezzed on the Kama and ripped the man's head from his shoulders. "Damn I need to light up." Vergil thought as he reached in his pocket grabbing another cigarette. He then lifted it to his lips, lit it and began to smoke.
He lifted his Kama from the man's dead corpse and slung it over his shoulder, holding onto one prt of the chain. He walked through the house his boots making a loud noise. It was evident that something irrational had taken place at the house and also that pursuading the suspects would prove to be useless. Vergil soon encountered another 'gaurd' mask man. Vergil would thrust his palm into the man's chest instantly killing him. He stared down at the man with a blank expression on his face. He then stepped over his corpse and proceeded to move through out the house, It was not long before he came near the hostages, whom were also the farmers. Vergil freed them all and began to talk them. "I am sorry for the disturbance. Luckily this mission was given to me otherwi-" Suddenlt a strong hand leapt out from behind Vergil and tugged on his throat. Vergil smiled and then bit town on the hand. Ripping the flesh from the man's arm. SPitting it onto the ground he smiled. He walked towards whom he believed to be the last intruder. He hastily killed him as he layed on the ground. Stomping on the man's head with his booted foot."Sorry about that. I will send for a cleanup crew. I exoect you guys to get back to work." Vergil would say to the farmers. He would then exit the house placing a second cigarette in his mouth. What a stressful day it was. Another mission was completed. He was getting closer each day to achieving the rank of Chuunin. Which might fit his age since he was above age for a Genin, While others were 9 or 10. As he exited the farmers property a memory caught his mind. It was when he was a young child his father told him stories of a mad serial killer, that killed his victims by burning them alive with his cigarette lighter. After killing hundreds of people the man suddenly disapeared from the earth. Never to kill or be seen again. What Vergil did not know at that time was that his uncle was that killer and he had dies of natural causes. Meaning he accidently lit a cigarette in a room filled with gas.."I should really stop smoking." Vergil said as he walked through the village. Blood covering his attire. He recieved horrific stares from the villagers of course...

- Mission Name: Not all thieves are petty.
Type: Investigation
Word Count: 900
Ryo:850
Task: There is a thief inside the village that is stealing jewelry and other fine goods from local homes and shops. He only shows himself at night and is said to be very skilled in his craft. Although he is good he has a pattern of where he is going to steal next, and the leaders of the village believe that they have found the next place he is going to rob. Your mission is to wait until the thief tries to the rob the location, then apprehend him using your skills, and bringing him to a jail. Although he is not a ninja he will be hostile and is very skilled with a blade, even going as far as stabbing a man in the leg once, so be careful.
Vergil sat up from the couch in his room. His entire body was fatigued from all of the fighting he was recently doing. In his last mission he might have almost been killed had he not turned around in time. Though this was exactly what he wanted. Somethng that could challenge him to his limit. Though this was no more the problem, for this would be his last C rank mission for the time being. His current mission was to lacate a well famous thief. To Vergil this was no different from his previous thief missions, but what interested them the most was the fact that the thief was violent, he had even stabbed someone before. This was indeed promising, Vergil thought as he sat up from the couch. He then walked over towards a wall in his room. He stared blankly at the large portrait of his family. On everyones face was a large x mark. This was because Vergil wanted to remind himself everyday that he was the last one left. It was also to renew his hatred of the Uchiha clan everyday. He wanted to never forget the things he and his family were put through. Vergil walked away from the wall and exited the house. He was looking for the thief wanting to find him, to get things over with quickly. So he would be able to start on his B rank missions.
Vergil arrived at an location, where it was believed the thief would hit next. He was a predictable bastard after all. Vergil enetered the shop through the back and began to talk to the manager. "So do you think he is gonna hit tonight?" The old man stared up at Vergil and said, "Yes sir, I am afraid that is what might happen. Just make sure that he does not get anything. Please!!" The old clerk said before turning back to complete his job. Vergil walked away from the man, into a dark corner. He sat down secluded in the shadows. He watched the stupid villagers leave and come to the shop. Unaware that this was the next shop the thief would most likely hit. Though Vergil could not blame the thief. He did have taste. Vergil stared around hi, at the large diamondsand jewel neclaces. He guessed all of this together was worth millions of ryo. Vergil watched slowly as darkness was beginning to overwhelm the night sky..
Vergil watched as the owner of the shop began to pack up for the night. Once he was done he walked over towards Vergil once more and began to talk to him again. "Okay man, I think it is time for you to do your job. Just make sure that he does not get his stinky fingers on even one of my things, okay?" Vergil stood up from the ground and looked down on the man. There was a moment of silence. Something was off and Vergil could tell. He was not even listening to the man. He heard a zipping sound and pushed the old man onto the ground, so that he was out of the path of the wired kunai. The kunail, slammed into the shoulder of Vergil. Once it was inside his shoulder, Vergil saw the thief. A man, not much shorter than Vergil. He smiled At Vergil with confidence as he tugged on the wire, forcefully removing the kunai from his shoulder. The blood of Vergil, gushed onto the floor of the shop. Vergil weakily stood on his feet. His eyes appeared droopy and tired. Vergil shook his head slowly. His eyes blacking out. He heard the approaching foot steps of the thief as he ran towards Vergil, perhaps to finish him off. Vergil re-entered a conscious state. His senses now alert to what was occuring arround him. The thief lept into the air, with a large sword in his hand, while in the hair he lifted the sword above his head and attempted to attempted to split Vergil straight down the middle. Vergil placed his fingers together and began to perform the seals for the body flicker technique.
Appearing above the thief Vergil kicked his leg out at the back of the man's head. The thief slammed onto the ground, but he quickly rolled to his feet laughing. "That wound you got looks pretty bad. You don't got long. Though you've got guts kid, I give you that. The man then ran towards Vergil removing a small knife from his mouth as he ran. 'He's right.' Vergil thought to himself as he looked down at the seemingly large pool of blood. He guessed that he only had a few minutes before he bled out. Vergil ran towards the man, showing no mercy, he performed the 64 palms on his body. After this the man slumped onto the ground unconsious. Vergil looked towards the store manager and smiled, 'Mission complete' he said before falling onto the ground.
Vergil woke up in a hospitle bed. A nurse entered the room. Vergil was confused, "Whats going on." Vergil said to the woman. She smiled grimly and said, "You lost a lot of blood on your mission, luckily you did not need a blood transfusion, but you came pretty close to needing one." Vergil relaxed a bit as he sat in the bed. He then got up from the bed quickly, a sharp pain shooting through his arm. "You must rest." The nurse said approaching Vergil. Vergil just smiled and said, No I just need a smoke." Vergil then grabbed his clothes and items and left the hospital. He had heard that the thief was now in jail, which was good. Even though he was hurt, Vergil felt it was a pretty fun day.
