Re: Punishment {Private, Shinji, Yoshida, and Kenchi.}

A brief smile appeared across Shinji's face-the easy part was done. However, there was a very large difference between accepting the title of anbu and actually being an anbu as Kenchi was about to find out. Shinji took on a more serious tone before as he turned around to face Kenchi: "Very well, but before you can truly become an anbu I would like you to face me in open combat. That way you can prove your battle prowess, which is essential for an anbu as you no doubt know." With those words SHinji walked to the center of the skyscraper and away from the edge-the top of the skyscraper would serve as the battleground. Once at the center Shinji would turn and square off against Kenchi. The two men would be a fair distance apart. Once there Shinji would speak up again: "Now please come at me with everything you have." Shinji remained with his arms at his side-not the most strategic of of stances, but honestly the mixed drink Shinji had earlier was starting to effect his judgment just a bit

Kenchi's face would become serious once he was asked to spar with Shinji. This would be his chance to prove to the Tenkage, that he had not become a Jounin leveled shinobi for nothing. He would begin to bounce from foot to foot, warming himslef up and loosening his muscles. Once he was finished he would throw a single pronged kunai towards the head of Shinji, he would then dash forwards following close behind the kunai. While running he would begin to perform the required handsign for the bodyflicker technique. In an instant he would appear behind the back of Shinji. He would duck downwards to the ground and with his right leg he would attempt to sweep Shinji's legs from under him.
The swordsman within Kenchi was beckoning for him to draw his sword. Kenchi would refuse the request his body was throwing upon him. Instead he would use hand to hand combat, unless Shinji happened to draw a weapon during the spar. If that was the case then Kenchi would, without a doubt, draw his weapon in response. Since he was definately a more skilled swordsman, then he was at ninjutsu and the other things he had learned throughout his career as a ninja. There was something about the use of swords that had always seemed to draw him closer towards them.

Shinji's piercing eyes watched each of Kenchi's moments. He hopped from foot to foot, which was an interesting warm up technique. Quite honestly in a normal fight Shinji would have taken advantage of this and attacked, but this battle was not about winning it was more about testing. Once Kenchi had finished his warm up Shinji observed with a nonchalant look on his face as Kenchi threw a kunai straight for Shinji. With his body on auto pilot Shinji would sidestep the kunai by moving a meter to the left, thus allowing the kunai to pass by harmlessly. However, it seemed that Kenchi was not done, not by a long shot, he had run up close behind the throwing of the kunai. At first he was moving quite slow, at least to Shinji, but with a single hand sign Kenchi was able to increase his speed to rival Shinji's {Kenchi's 152 speed with Body flicker vs Shinji's 150 speed}. Although the increase was not enough to make Kenchi's movements invisible to Shinji it was enough for Shinji to be rather caught off guard and thus not react instantly.
Instead Shinji managed to see in his peripheral vision as Kenchi moved behind him-this could mean many things, but the most obvious was an attack from behind. Thus, just as Kenchi left Shinji's peripheral vision Shinji himself bolted forward five meters in a show of raw speed that far outshone Kenchi's speed once he had finished the use of his body flicker technique, thus allowing him to avoid kenchi's leg sweep. Reaching his five meter mark Shinji would turn on a dime to face Kenchi. In this turn, in which Shinji used all his speed, his right hand would smoothly slide to his waist where a black combat knife hung: Makaze. The completion of this move, assuming all went as planned, would leave Shinji standing about five meters from Kenchi and his back to the edge of the skyscraper with his front facing Kenchi. Furthermore, Shinji would be holding the black blade at the ready and at chest level with the flat of the blade pointed out toward Kenchi for what may come. Kenchi had passed in a test of speed, but now would be a true test of raw skill: swordsmanship-kenjutsu.

Kenchi's legs would sweep at the air. It seemed Shinji had saw through his movements. This was not surprising at all, Kenchi was still warming himself up at the time of the attack. Though now, he was done. Watching as Shinji, maneuvered 5 meters away from him. Though when he drew a weapon, this surprised Kenchi. He did not know that the man also had the skill to use weapons while in battle. Kenchi's left hand would twitch slightly, Kenchi would draw a weapon of his own, Heavens Sorrow Ninjato. The weapon would be removed from it's sheath quickly, the metal ringing in the air. He would quickly study the weapon Shinji had drawn. It appeared to be a simple knife. Though Kenchi knew better than to underestimate the man. He would make sure to keep his wits about him. From the man's stance it seemed that he was expecting Kenchi to come forwards once more.
Kenchi had failed on his last attempt. Even with the boost from the bodyflicker he was still too predictable. Had he forgotten that this was probably the most important battle he had been in so far. In order for him to join the Anbu he had to show the Tenkage that he deserved such a title. He could not fail anymore, he had to give this spar his all. Kenchi would slightly bend his knees, while gripping his sword tightly. He would lunge forwards using all of his speed to attempt a horozontal slash at the chest of Shinji, the technique was known as Blade Dash. His sword would be held in front of him with both hands, horizontally. During this action his speed and strength would both be amplified slightly (Strength:83, Speed: 107).

Re: Punishment {Private, Shinji, Yoshida, and Kenchi.}

In a kenjutsu match speed was not always everything. Rather timing was everything, but then again an edge in the speed department never hurt anyone. Thus, when Kenchi drew his sword Shinji felt as his very own heart started to beat in a more even and steady tempo. Overall, Shinji was no kenjutsu master, but he was not half bad with a knife. SHinji merely waited as Kenchi ran at him with his sword-Shinji's followed each of Kenchi's movements with a lazy look on his face. However, this lazy look was merely a facade that hid Shinji's true face that would look much like one playing chess were his facade of laziness not in place. Thus, when Kenchi neared him Shinji stepped into the attack, however in stepping into the attack he would hold Makaze in such a way that Kenchi's blade would hit the flat of Makaze before Kenchi's blade would reach Shinji's chest. As it were the two men, Shinji and Kenchi, would be fairly equal in strength, which would no doubt lead to a deadlock if all went as planned. To break this supposed deadlock Shinji would flow chakra into Makaze. In an matter of a two seconds a black sphere of wind chakra would form around the entirety of the knife and then in the next second a cylindrical blast with the diameter of Makaze's total length would issue outwards from the blade: an evil wind. The blast would be directed at the very tip of Kenchi's blade and thus would in no way harm Kenchi. However, Kenchi's blade was a different story this blast would in all likelihood, if it was not avoided, would slice the top five inches off of Kenchi's sword. From there it would be up to Kenchi on what move to make. If all went as planned Kenchi's sword would be five inches shorter from the tip and the two men would be within a meter of each other-striking distance for either of them.

Re: Punishment {Private, Shinji, Yoshida, and Kenchi.}

Kenchi's sword clashed with the small knife, Shinji held within his hand. Kenchi was surprised, he did not think that such a thing could hold him at bay. Kenchi would attempt to overpower Shinji, but his efforts would be to no prevail. They were just about even instrength. Kenchi was beginning to think of a way to counter, when a Shinji's knife began to change. A black sphere forming around it, soething would shoot from the sword, aiming for the tip of the ninjato which Kenchi held. At such a close distance, there was no doubt that the attack would hit, slashing off five inches from the tip of the ninjato. This would not affect Kenchi, though the attack was surprising, he was willing to part from his sword. The sword now useless, Kenchi saw no need to hold onto something he could not use. He would slash upwards aiming for the right shoulder of Shinji, after this he would let go of the sword, letting it fall to the ground. In an instant he would draw a single kunai, Shinji standing a single meter away from him, Kenchi would throw the kunai towards the head of shinji with a flick of his right wrist. The kunai probably ould not be that effective, still it would be slightly useful as a distraction while Kenchi prepared himself for his next attempt to attack the man. His determination was growing stronger as the batte proceeded.
The kunai still traveling towards Shinji, Kenchi would raise both of his hands together and begin to perform the required handsigns for the hiding in the mist technique. Unlike his previous ninjutsu technique, which was wind release, this one was of the water nature. Soon the thick mist would cover the area in which he and shinji stood. The mist was not as powerfull as it was in kiri. Though while within the mist silhouette's could be easily seen. "Though Kiri does not stand, I and a few others carry along its mist in our abilities." Kenchi would say. He would wait upon Shinji's next move. He was sure the man could see him within the mist, since he still stood in his original location.

Re: Punishment {Private, Shinji, Yoshida, and Kenchi.}

Shinji was not surprised in the least when Kenchi's blade got a "haircut." The blast that had issued from the blade had been powerful and fast-two deadly attributes that came together in an epic blast. However, Shinji did not have much time to relish his minor triumph, because Kenchi was still pressing the attack. With Makaze now free Shinji was able to easily block the attack from Kenchi's sword with a swift movement that placed the knife right in the path of the sword, thus blocking it. Kenchi then released his blade, which surprised Shinji. Luckily the attack that followed was not hard to block. The kunai that Kenchi threw, which normally would have been tricky to block, was easily blocked by Shinji as he flicked Makaze up from blocking Kenchi's sword strike and sent the kunai flying harmlessly off the roof of the skyscraper-hopefully nobody was walking below.
By the time Shinji had completed these actions Kenchi would have just finished the last hand seal of the hidden mist technique. In an instant the top of the skyscraper would be cloaked in a cool mist. It felt refreshing to Shinji-normally all one felt in Tengakure was industrial refuse that floated in the air. He could just make out Kenchi as he had not moved yet, but he knew that could change at most any moment, so he had to act fast. Moving at blinding speeds Shinji made the hand signs needed for the multiple shadow clone jutsu-Shinji chose not to really take notice of Kenchi's words as in a battle talking can get you killed. Upon the completion of the hand signs thirty Shinjis would appear around Kenchi-encircling him and the original Shinji in circle with a diameter of four meters. All the clones of Shinji drew three shuriken in each hand and took aim towards the center of the circle,which happened to be Kenchi, while the real Shinji made a single hand sign for the body flicker technique and moved with blinding speeds to the shelter of the elevator shaft that jutted up from the skyscraper the two men had come up earlier and could just barely be seen through the mist.
At the same time that Shinji made the ram hand seal for the body flicker technique his clones would flow wind natured chakra through the shuriken they now held and would then throw them in a storm of metal towards the center and in turn Kenchi-the risk for collateral damage was high, but it mattered not as they were clones. Kenchi on the other hand was no clone. If he were not to move, and everything went perfectly, then he would be hit with two shuriken in his head, two to his body, three in each arm and two in his right leg. The other shuriken would be whizzing around the battlefield; all centered around Kenchi: some high, some low and some at waist level-all in all a storm of razors. All the clones would be destroyed by the crossfire of shuriken, thus protecting from much overshot and risk of the lives of the people below as the shuriken that had been thrown would last as long as the clones that threw them. If all went as planned Kenchi would be caught in the storm of the shuriken and the real Shinji would be standing about eight meters away safely behind the shelter of the main elevator shaft. Behind the elevator shaft he would wait for a sign, any sign, to take action to help Kenchi or to continue their spar. If Kenchi were to somehow avoid the shuriken storm then he would be at an advantage, because Shinji would no longer be able to see Kenchi in the mist that clung to the roof like a stray cloud.

Kenchi would wait for a reply from Shinji that would never come, instead 30 figures would appear around Kenchi. Their figures could still be made out through the mist. It was evident that they were clones, for no one else had came up the elevator. Kenchi would watch as one of the clones in front of him began to reach for somethingm revealing a Shuriken. The Shuriken would then be thrown at Kenchi, it appeared that the other clones had mimicked the same move also. The sound of the shuriken spinning through the air made a somewhat soothing sound. Kenchi would wait for the Shuriken to reach a meter in distance to him, he would then leap into the air allowing the Shuriken to travel on their course. If things went as expected, the clones would take eachother out, their shurikens traveling across the distance between them just to meet the clone on the opposite end of the roof.
Kenchi would fall back onto the roof, landing on his feet. He would begin to search for Shinjji staring around himself. Kenchi doubted that the man had hid amongst the clones. It would be difficult to find him at the moment due to the thick mist, but this was not something new to Kenchi. A boy whom had grown used to maneuvering through the mist, which loomed over his past village. As Kenchi walked through the mist quietly searching for the man, he would begin to feel sorry for the numerous amount of people that had died during the attack. Why did so many innocent people had to die. At this moment, Kenchi would begin to feel a strange sensation. His train of thought would change from slightly calm to serious. The only thing that traveled through his mind at this moment was winning, his determination peaking. Kenchi would perform the handsigns to create a single Shadow Clone next to him. The clone would walk along with Kenchi. Their footsteps silent. The figure of Shinji would soon appear in front of Kenchi. The real Kenchi would dash to his left, throwing a single kunai into the direction of Shinji. The Shadow clone would charge directly at Shinji, drawing two demon daggers from his back. The clone would then leap into the air above Shinji, with both of the daggers held in its hand, it would attempt to slam each dagger into the shoulders of Shinji. At this moment, the real Kenchi would be positioned behind Shinji, his left hand grasping onto his right arm. A slight chirping sound could be heard, it was the sound of the lightning being collected in his hand. Once finished, he would lunge towards Shinji from behind his right hand filled with lightning attempting to grasp onto the head of Shinji. Kenchi was prepared to change his course if Shinji had moved, his mastery of the chidori allowing him to do so.

Re: Punishment {Private, Shinji, Yoshida, and Kenchi.}

For a while Shinji waited silently in the mist as metal clanged on metal and the clones puffed away. He heard no cry of pain nor victory, so he assumed Kenchi had escaped the attack-this was a good sign. It meant that Kenchi was not half bad in a fight, which would be quite important in his job as an anbu. As Shinji waited he allowed his mind to go blank and focus solely on the battle at hand-no frivolous thoughts drifted here nor there. In a phrase Shinji was ready for battle; a real battle. To aid in this battle he took out one shuriken and held it in his right hand. Then all at once it began Shinji heard no footsteps, but he did, out of the corner of his eye, catch a vague shadow run by. Taking this as his cue he turned just in time to twist out of the way of a kunai. It was then that he spied an attacker from the front, who at the point Shinji saw him was just about to jump. As the attacker from the front jumped Shinji threw his lone shuriken upwards such that it was on a direct path for the dagger wielding person's stomach. Seeing as the target was in the air the dagger wielder would be unable to move, however they may be able to parry, which would probably mess up the stabbing attempt and allow SHinji some latitude to make his move. Shinji did not have time to worry about that as he heard the sound of birds chirping behind him-an odd sound as no birds ever came this high up, thus the only logical assumption was that it was an attacker coming from behind. Shinji could, by sound alone, time his movements. Just as the attacker came a meter from him Shinji would execute a back flip that would send him right up and over his attacker due to Shinji's incredible strength. The backflip would be high enough such that Shinji would be out of arms reach of the attacker that was no doubt Kenchi. Furthermore in this flip Shinji would kick out his legs, so that if the attacker that originally came from the front with daggers somehow evaded the shuriken then he would be firmly kicked. If all went as planned then Shinji would land behind the attacker (the real Kenchi). However, Shinji would not stop there: using all his speed Shinji would turn on a dime and run right after his attacker that was the source of the bird like noises. No longer would Shinji be using taijutsu or ninjutsu. With his right five fingers pronged out and faintly glowing purple at the tips he would try to slam his five fingers into the back of the person who was no doubt Kenchi. This was the five elements sealing seal. If everything went perfectly then Kenchi would be hit with the attack squarely in the back and be knocked out. And the spar would be over then and there, which all and all would make for a fine spar. And considering Shinji's speed his attack would be hard to dodge indeed.

The kage's movements were just too fast for Kenchi to react in time. Just as the kage leaped behind him, Kenchi would lift his right hand turing his body so that he would be able to grasp Shinji's wrist. He was only centimeters from making contact with the chidori on the wrist of Shinji, when everything went black...
