Re: Just a little training ( Solo )
Mon Mar 25, 2013 12:59 am
The next few days were particularly stressful for Furozan. He had to find a balance between doing his imposed work for the village for the destruction he had caused and getting his training in. He was also not allowed to spar with Harumi for period of time due to their destruction. Part of him was upset over his actions for getting so out of control, but the other part, was quite pleased with himself. Not only had he proven himself in a real battle against a genin of Tengakure, he had won the spar, and word was starting to spread around the village about his new technique.
He knew it would once he had gotten it out there, but he did not know it would spread so quickly, and he did not know the fame it would bring him. Academy students and genin alike were all questioning him about how to learn it or pestering him to teach it to them. He could not count how many times he had to explain that it was not a jutsu you just learn all willy nilly like. It took hard work, dedication, and also the water element, obviously. His control over water was starting to garner him a name, which was something he had been searching for for quite some time, a name.
Rumor was, though, that he was not the strongest water user in Tengakure. Many people had spoke about an Anbu who had even more control over water and was even said to be one with the sharks. It was not that Furozan cared either way, but he had to admit, he was intrigued by the idea of sharks. He had always been fascinated by them, especially when he was younger, and he had caught a few off the coast of the sea of Kirigakure. So when it was brought up that someone could transform into a shark, naturally, he was intrigued.
So he went about his day, doing the usual training he did in the morning, but cutting it in half because he had to get started working early. And the work was certainly not easy. While most of the ninja worked together on projects, Furozan was forced to work on his own as punishment. While he was rather physically fit, the lifting of objects over and over again could put a strain on even the strongest of ninja. Of course if Kankarou was still alive he would have made fun of Furozan for being so weak.
He was having to rebuild walls, help build houses, and do general maintenance on the village gates to help secure the only security measures the village had. Plus, building houses and apartments in Tengakure was leagues different than in Kirigakure, due to everything being suspended so high in the air. There was a time in his life when he had been terrified of heights, well, that fear was long gone now.
Having to walk up the side of buildings while carrying large objects was no easy task and he realized he could never work in construction. Despite all of his training he had not been prepared for this. The people over him must have known it would not be an easy chore, and thus, why they had given him the tasks in the first place. Day after day he repeated the same things and by the time he was done he was always too tired to train.
That was changing today, he did not care if he was up till the wee hours in the morning, he was going to further his Water Heaven Convergence jutsu. He knew he was close and if he did not get the next level he was going to be upset with himself. Now that he had a name for himself he had a reputation to live up to and he was not going to get there with excuses like "I am tired". So, once he was done, he went to the training grounds to get started.
He started like any other time by focusing and getting his head right. He was exhausted and using such a strenuous jutsu needed constant focus. He knew he had grown since he first started but even the tiniest lapses in concentration could screw everything up. Once he was nice and ready, he felt the water in the ground, and he pulled it up.
He practiced for awhile just moving the water around and forming it into different shapes. He tinkered with the shield and tried to formulate the best possible defense out of it. He thought that a typical shield would be the best, but after awhile, he noticed that if he sort of wrapped the jutsu like a U around his body it would protect both the front and his sides. He liked it and noted that he would have to use it in combat the next time he was given the chance to.
He also toyed around with his offensive prowess. He had used the jutsu to restrain Harumi when they had sparred and while he was restrained he could bring a second attack down to both hit the opponent with force and to possibly drown them if the situation called for it. All in all, he looked back on when he had first started using the jutsu, and he had to say he had come quite a long ways from the sad little boy who came to Tengakure with a certificate for revenge.
Getting an idea, he decided he wanted to test out riding on top of the water, maybe it would help him get around faster. He noticed that the water could move at a much higher speed than he could himself so it might make for a good escape plan if the situation called for it. He drew up enough water from the ground to make a wave of sorts that could be made bigger and smaller. He practiced forming the water the way he would think would be the most plausible for riding the water before he got on.
Once he was satisfied, he stood on top of the water, and he took off. It was night time now and he decided he would like to go for a little ride through the village. He tested out how high he could go, and from what he could tell, there was no limit to how high he could go besides gravity and his control over the technique. He lifted himself high into the air and then he took off through the village, admiring the sites.
It was nice to be away from everyone. He had almost forgotten that there was a time when he enjoyed being alone over being with people. He guessed it was due to the fact that he had plenty of friends back in Kirigakure that he could go hang out with any time or who would bug him about things. Now that he had no friends the prospect of being alone was a cold and dark place. He was constantly seeking the attention and approval of everyone around him now that he was in Tengakure, which was the exact opposite of what he had been doing in Kirigakure, how things had changed.
He realized that it had been months since he had been fishing and he also remembered that he had no fishing gear anymore. It hit him hard that the pole his father had passed down to him was long gone at the bottom of the sea. It was not the fact that the pole was gone it just reminded him how serious everything really was. He was alone... no more family... he alone carried on the Hearutsu name.
Not that anyone cared about the name anyways. If he died tonight, who would care? His thoughts turned awfully depressing as he soared through the village looking at all of the sights. He had come so far and yet sunk so low in his life. This was not where he wanted to be at this age. He was close to fifteen now and he had no mother to go home to and brag about the things he had learned. No father to say "I am proud of you son." He had nothing but himself. The depression was quickly turning to anger now.
Why had they taken everything from him? Sure, maybe in their eyes, they were justified. But what about him? Would they ever know the pain they had caused him? How they had stripped away every thing he had ever cared about? How was destroying a village with hundreds of innocent lives the right thing to do? Take out the ones who actually did something, not his mother, who had never once even harmed a fly. She was innocent and now she was dead. The only thing he ever wanted to do was protect her, and now she was gone, he had failed.
He landed on top of a building and he propped himself up against the railing. He admired the stars and was reminded of how small he was in comparison to the galaxy above. "I am so sorry mother. I failed you and there was nothing I could have done about it. Maybe I am strong enough now that I would have been able to help, but what good is that? What fucking good is it that I escaped and could maybe, just maybe, help you now that you are forever buried under the sea."
Tears streamed down his face and he did not even realize it. For the first time since he had witnessed Kirigakure go under did he cry. He had bottled it all up and turned it into fuel for his training and now it was all coming out. It was no use to cry now, his tears would not bring her back, nor would it bring his father back. At least he had been given a proper funeral. Either way, his mother would have enjoyed being buried at the sea, she loved the place even though she did not get to visit it as often as she would have liked to.
He wanted to yell. He wanted to crush the building he was standing on and dare anyone to stop him. He knew they could, though, if they really wanted to. That was the sad part. As much as he had grown he was still nowhere near strong enough to exact any type of revenge on the villages who had brought his down. They were insanely more powerful than him, and to be honest, he did not see himself ever becoming strong enough to exact revenge.
Maybe that was the point? Maybe revenge was not the answer, but it sure as hell felt like it, every waking moment it felt like it. There were times where he felt like he could barely contain himself. He wanted to scream at the top of his lungs and curse the gods who had brought this pain into his heart. He knew his mother would not approve though, she was much to nice for that, she would tell him something sweet about how revenge only brought on more sorrow and more sadness.
"You were always right, mom." He would do anything to spend just one more night with her. To eat one more meal that she had cooked and sit in that kitchen with her. He took her for granted, that was for sure, and he wished more than anything that he could go back and change it all. But he could not and that was the sad truth of it all. This was what he had so he had to live with it. "I will make you proud mother and father. That is my promise."
He had had enough and it was time to go home. He summoned the water under his feet again and he made his way back to the Kage chambers so that he could get some rest. No matter how saw he became he still he things he had to do. He could not wallow in self pity and take advantage of the hospitality that the village had given him. He had to earn it, and damn it, he would.
