The first good day [P]

Itami heard Mezurashii and knew she was close. He however had no idea what she had up her sleeve and what her next move would be. He tried moving backwards to get as far away as possible but tripped, apparently over Mezurashii's leg.
The smoke was starting to clear up again, but slowly and Itami still didn't see anything. Still his eyes were yet again open, anxiously anticipating clear air.
He quickly got back to his feet.

He heard the sound of metal scraping out of a sheathe and he was willing to bet Mez pulled out her wakizashi. He was screwed now. As long as the smoke remained, the wakizashi was a hundred times more dangerous to him as he had no clue to where Mez would strike.

Upon instinct he charged at the girl from where he thought she was given that he heard the wakizashi just there. He stayed low, expecting Mez to hold her weapon higher, protecting her face and torso. He aimed a punch somewhere at her abdomen and then twirled around, gaining momentum for a low kick at her side.

Mezurashii could only sigh silently in relief as she actually hit something. Though her instincts didn't let her react, and fortunately she was more experienced in blind fighting in the smoke and managed to block Itami's hit to her torso with the hilt of her weapon but yelped when her feet were swept from under her.

She rolled away almost as soon as she hit the ground, she stayed low as se got back onto her feet with one hand still lightly touching the ground. She sprinted forward with the aim of tackling her friend to the ground, if she missed she would simply turn it into a tumble roll and prepare herself for a potential attack.

[Okay, I need to go to bed. It's roughly 11pm where I am and I need to go to school]

Itami's punch was blocked by the hilt of Mezurashii's weapon but as he spun around and aimed a kick at her, she fell to the ground.

He jumped backwards, already anticipating her next attack. He was expecting a punch or a kick, not the whole Mezurashii flying at him at full speed. She tackled him and Itami fell backards, his head hitting the ground hard. The smoke was almost cleared up and he saw the outline of the girl in front of him.
His kunai that fell out of his hand was out of reach and his hands were immobilized by Mez, so he couldn't reach for another one.

Mezurashii grinned at Itami, she was straddling his chest and had forsaken her beloved wakizashi for pinning him to the ground.

"I see you didn't expect that" she laughed a little. "Well, I can't move to grab a weapon without letting you go and it's about the same for you, do what do you saw we make it a draw?" she asked, smiling down at him.

Itami smiled at her and replied: "Yeah, that seems like the only viable option. I was taught an escape from an attack like this, but it's quite deadly and I don't want to hurt you!"

He winked and laughed, waiting for Mezurashii to stand up again.
His head hurt a bit but he payed that no mind. He wondered if they were going to continue the spar when they were both up again, or not.

Mezurashii laughed as she rolled off him and landed on her back, sighing she grinned.

"Really? Most people don't expect a ninja to do such a... bold move, which is why I like it so much" she flipped up and grinned at him, jumping back she flipped once, twice, thrice and one more time then she was on the water.

"Fighting on land, while good in and of itself, can dull certain skills. So why don't we fight on the water, not only will this help out our ability to adapt our chakra in an instant but it will also test our reserves and how evenly we can regulate our chakra" she winked at him in return and took another stance back and fell into a defensive position.

"First one pushed onto dry land loses?" she asked, waiting for him.

"It certainly was unexpected." he answered and watched as she flipped backwards a couple of times until she was standing on the small lake's surface.

Itami raised his eyebrows and his lips formed a smile. "What a great idea!" he exclaimed and ran after her, directing chakra to his feet and stepping on the water surface.

"Deal!." he added, now grinning. This was going to be so much fun. Mezurashii always had such good ideas!

"Do the same rules as before apply, or can we use jutsu?" he asked as an afterthought, thinking over the pros and cons. He would let Mez decide since he didn't mind either.

Mezurashii shrugged "why not? We might as well go all out on this one" she said as she smiled.

Running at him she delivered a roundhouse kick to his midsection, if that failed she would twist herself so she could manage a mid-air kick towards his head.

"Alright." Itami replied with a broad grin on his face. Using ninjutsu was his favourite way of fighting.

His grin widened in anticipation, as Mezurashii ran towards him. He blocked her first kick with his forearm and then ducked evading the second one. Still in a crouched position, he aimed a punch at her stomach and spun around while standing up, adding momentum to his second punch, aiming for her head, from the side.

He jumped backwards then, cautiously keeping control over his chakra and watching Mezurashii intently, a small smile still playing at his lips.
He was already preparing his next attack in his head.

Mezurashii grinned when he blocked both and dodged her attacks, when he aimed for her abdomen she noticed the second fist aiming for her head. Allowing the attack on her midsection she used the momentum to dodge the second attack, taking a deep breath to make up for the lost air, she smiled at him.

She didn't have many jutsu's in her arsenal and he had seen or knew of all of them. So she would have to fight with her head and her tricks instead, her best weapons. Grinning she sprinted at him, pulling out three shuriken she threw them at him. One just above his head so it would pass over if he ducked just a little, one towards his right leg and the other his left shoulder.

If he dodged any of her shuriken Mezurashii would replace herself with one of them and direct a sweeping kick to his legs and slam her heel into his torso.
