The first good day [P]

It's been about a week since Mezurashii has been released from the hospital. Itami visited her whenever he could, granted he wasn't able to every day. In the end, she didn't need to stay there for as long as they initially thought and he was glad. She would have died of boredom despite the fact that he brought her one of his favourite books, and talked with her for hours when he was able to visit.

Today was a day so pefectly cut out for training that Itami hopped out of bed the second he opened his eyes. There was a grin on his face throughout the whole morning, despite bumping into father on his way to get breakfast. Even he seemed in a better mood.
The day both he and Mez were sent to a hospital, Itami angered him pretty bad and when he returned home, he acted like a devil for a whole week. Itami was given so many punishments he wondered if he was ever going to survive it.

But today was different. The raging storm that was his father, had finally calmed down. Itami was able to breathe easier. After breakfast, he lightly skipped into his room, got dressed and jumped out the window, to be greeted by warm sun rays and a gentle breeze that lightly ruffled his hair.
He stayed among the rooftops, jumping from one to another, always prefering to be higher then everyone else.
Upon reaching Mezurashii's house however, he remembered her words about the roof being booby trapped and jumped to the street. Reaching her door, he knocked and waited.

Mezurashii stretched slowly, it felt so good to be in your own bed. Sliding soundlessly out of bed she entered the bathroom and showered quickly, upon exiting she looked herself in the mirror.

"My hairs longer" she thought out loud, and it was true, the red hair now reached her shoulder blades. Smiling she tied her hair into it's usual style and added her beloved goggles, dressing as she normally did Mezurashii exited but made a quick beeline for her room.

Grabbing the book Itami had given her she practically danced down to the kitchen and prepared a simple bento box for each of them. She noticed the sky was lightening just as she heard a knock on the door.

She raced excitedly to the door and slid it open, smiling broadly at her friend.

"Itami, it's good to see you again. Come on, come on! Let's go!" she grabbed his hand and tugged him towards the training grounds,. Kami, it had been so long since she had seen it! The patched grass spots mixed with upturned earth and weathered posts that had been brutally attacked and old trees that had seen better days.

Taking in a deep breath Mezurashii sighed happily.

"Right, so what's on the agenda today?" she asked happily, turning to the white haired boy, smiling brightly.

As Mezurashii opened the door and greeted him, Itami couldn't help but laugh. She didn't give him any time to reply as she already tugged him down the street. She seemed so excited to be finally outside ad headed for the training grounds and Itami grinned. Practically running along side of her, he noticed the bento boxes and his book. Mezurashii was always so thoughtful, preparing lunch and the like. He was really glad of that as he loved food and usually forgot to take something with him to training.

Arriving at the training grounds, Mezurashii stopped abruptly, a look of pure bliss on her face. Itami understod completely. If he were locked in a hospital for so long, he's go crazy missing his training. It really was a sight; the training grounds. The grass that covered the area in patches was beautifully green and worked as a contrast to the brown and worn training dummies. The trees in the back were burned, dented and bruised but it looked right, as they were made for the sole purpose of helping young ninja become stronger. Sighing slightly Itami turned to Mezurashii.

In reply to her question he hummed slightly before saying: "Whatever you missed the most. We can do some kind of training, we can practice jutsu, maybe spar, or even do the air drill tenique if you're not scared." He giggled slightly to indicate he was just teasing. He grabbed her hand and pulled her towards the training dummies. "Why don't we start with something basic, to get you back to the whole training thing." he said, stopping in front of a post. "We have to warm up first anyway, unless you want sore muscles." he added with a comic smile.

Mezurashii laughed with him, the time they spent in the hospital they had a few 'hit and miss' experiences with jokes and their conversations, so now it was easy for them to identify what each person meant.

"No way! I've completely figured it out!" she said. Grinning even when he took her hand and pulled her over to the training dummies, Mezurashii nodded at his words.

"Good idea" she said, her hand slipping from his as she took a stance at the dummy. Her moves were a flash as she delivered a quick but powerful kick to the dummies side, she spun around it and jabbed punches into it's back and sides. Using her movements to stretch her muscles along the way, she continued this form of relentless assault of the dummy until she flipped from behind the thing until she was in front of it.

Her Air Drill was already formed and she slammed it into the dummy and straw flew everywhere, she stretched languidly before flopping onto her back.

"I have waited so long to do that, not being able to even use your chakra is the equivalent to hell" she commented as she stared at the clouds, she turned to her friend and smiled.

Itami could only stare in awe at Mezurashii's swift motions as she moved around the dummy with ease. She delivered carefully planned punches and jabbs and with wide eyes, Itami stood there like a second dummy, merely observing her actions instead of warming up himself.

Upon her grand finish with the air drill he was at complete loss of words and as Mezurashii flopped on her back he was still in his previous position, standing like an idiot with his mouth agape.

"Mezurashii!" he exlaimed. "What the hell?"
Shaking his head then, he spoke in a more normal voice, his shock retreating. "Only you could come out of a hospital, where you lay for weeks, stronger. Unbelievable."

He sat down next to where she was lying and looked at her from the side. "How did you manage to figure it out?"

He always knew Mez was some kind of a genious, creating all these jutsu by herself, but she still managed to suprise him everytime they met. He only hoped he could be this quick a learner someday. It still took him quite a lot of time to learn and master a jutsu. Despite having excelent chakra suply, he would bet he knew less jutsu than Mezurashii.

Mezurashii laughed sheepishly, looking at the passing clouds.

"Sorry, got a bit carried away" she muttered and listened to Itami "Well, I didn't imagine what would happen to the boulder when I hit it, so the pressure had no directions and, like what happened, blew up in my face. The cool and evil thing about wind jutsu is that the majority require you to visualize, at least when your making a jutsu. When you've mastered a technique you don't need to think" she spoke. Taking a deep breath she released it happily before she opened her eyes, they were practically shining.

"By the way, I've thought of a bunch of idea's for techniques and such" she said as she flipped backwards and onto her hands, going on one hand she started doing push-ups, every time she reached ten she would change to her other hand and repeat the process while she waited for Itami to respond.

"It's no problem" he laughed. "It was entertaining to watch."

He listened to her explanation and nodded along. It seemed she really had everything figured out. He hoped that when he tries the tehnique again, the result will be better.
Itami didn't mind he was so behind on the jutsu. He enjoyed challanges very much and he was certain he was going to manage it in the end.

"Oh cool!" he replied and smiled. "I'd love to hear them."
He turned around swiftly and joined Mezurashii in doing pushups. It was high time he started with his warm up.

Mezurashii smiled as she switched hands.

"Okay, first one is probably best for sensor types. It allows for people to sense other peoples elemental types, or at least while they gather it like how we do with the Air Drill. It could be handy so we can dodge it or just divert it" she said as she switched her hands again.

"The next is sort of like the chakra infusion, but with your palm. You grind two wind currents together around your palm, your hand has to be straight and your fingers together and in line with your hand, and your hand becomes something that can pierce through things, though that's going to be a bit risky" she finished as she slowly leaned back and put her feet on the ground before standing straight.

"And this one is going to probably be an A or S-rank jutsu, I already have the name for it. Fusion jutsu: Flaming Torrent! the idea is that you create a huge swirling vortex of fire, this technique will need both hands and should have a range of roughly two hundred metres, then again I might just be super-sizing it" Mezurashii thought out loud, looking to Itami "I think that's it for now" she added before walking over to a wooden post and began basic kicks, creating and keeping the rhythm.

Itami made one last push up and then pushed himself off the ground in a crouch and into a standing position. He started stretching as he listened to Mezurashii's ideas.
They all seemed great though he wasn't sure if all of them fitted into his long run plan.
The last one especially, since it required fire natured chakra, which Itami didn't have.

He had this idea of what number of certain range jutsu he will learn in the future. He was good both with close combat and long range combat and he decided to work on both. A lot of times in battle, you were forced into a certain range and if you were only trained in one that would pose a problem. That was why Itami strived to being as versatile as possible.

He knew his mother had wind affinity and not long ago, he found a scribbled notebook full of jutsu. He hadn't come to the end of it yet, though he already picked two jutsu from it and tried to learn them. The notebook offered extra advice and helpful hints as well, and he was sure that was his mother's work. He felt special and somehow connected to her upon his discovery of the notebook. He felt like he had a piece of her spirit.

When he finished his stretching and Mez stood up, Itami replied to Mezurashii's words. "They all sound awesome Mez! I can't understand how you can think of all these amazing jutsu by yourself."

He followed her to the training posts and picked one next to hers. Starting with punches, he kept his eyes on his hands and the post as he spoke again: "Though how are you gonna pull the last one off? You don't have fire natured chakra as well, do you?"
He was curious. Maybe Mezurashii really had two natural affinities. It was unheard of, for a genin, but he supposed it could have happened somehow ..

Mezurashii never paused in her timed kicks as Itami spoke.

"Papa always said I had an over active imagination, plus you get bored easily in the hospital. Though with the last one, it's a fusion jutsu. This one requires fire and wind nature chakra, that's how you get the long range, and while I don't have fire nature I can develop it later on" she said as she switched from kicks to punches.

"I've also got this idea. Pin pint hearing, it pretty much allows you to locate a person and even predict their moves if your close enough, I got that idea from a sleepless night in the hospital" she commented, delivering a particularly hard punch to the abused post.
