A Good Day
Sun Aug 23, 2020 9:30 pm
The young Genin had been doing a lot of training as of lately. He had gotten stronger through all of the missions that he had been doing, and it seemed like it was indeed paying off. His eyes had fully developed from what he saw, and he could just imagine if they could get any stronger? He wasn’t sure about it, but they hadn’t changed from what he had, and from what he could tell his growth with his eyes and body had grown quickly in terms of power. It was an interesting thing to think about, but for some reason, Yuurei had found himself in the training grounds by himself.
The day was beautiful, the birds flocked together as they soar through the area. It was a beautiful sight to see, and it seemed like the village was lively as well. Still, he found himself away from all of that, and he had told his mother where he would be. He didn’t bother Gin today as he figured that his friend would need some time to finalize that damn puppet of his. Yuurei figured with that puppet with them, they would be able to finish fights easier and take on more opponents. At this moment he was on one of the log posts that was amongst the area as he would have his legs folded and his eyes close.
He sat on top of the post without moving as he was meditating. His father had taught him how to do such a thing, but it was honestly a hard thing to do from time to time. Yuurei had his eyes close, but his chakra senses were all over the place as he didn’t want to be caught off guard by anybody. He tried to clear his mind as well, but that was harder to do than he could imagine. After trying for a few minutes, he would open his eyes as he would sigh with disappointment.
“I don’t understand how dad thinks this is fun and important. He says this will help me out a lot, so I guess I need to keep trying.”He said this to himself as he would look around to see his surroundings once again. [
There were trees everywhere, which he found weird for Sunagakure, but it was beautiful that they would have it in the desert now. He wondered if there was anybody who would show up to train as he did. It would be interesting to converse with someone new he thought to himself.

Re: A Good Day
Tue Aug 25, 2020 3:18 pm
It had been a few days since the first round of assessments had taken place in the new academy, doing her due diligence she had dug a little deeper into the two shinobi she had placed under her care and found that they were likely friends. This would make teamwork between the two easier at least; nothing was worse than having to wrangle two unwilling people to work together. The problem might stem not from their lack of ability to work together but from their ages, it had been far too long since she was in charge of children… last being her own siblings and that… hadn’t ended pleasantly. None-the-less she was determined to mold the three of them into a formidable trio, but now it was time to formally meet the two.
She had sent a summons to Gin’s home to meet at the training area that Yuurei was known to frequent - she had been tailing the two in her own form of reconnaissance, Gin wasn’t seen too often… rather quiet in nature but Yuurei was easily the bold one of the two and inherently stuck out. In the days leading up to this meeting she had changed her wardrobe immensely - half jacket with gloves that covered slightly more than the striped of cloth that wrapped around her chest, dark green shorts with two belts crossing over her rib cage for holding projectiles, tall boots that wrapped up her thighs with even more compartments for quick access to an array of weapons, all topped with a wide brimmed straw hat adorned with a tuft of crows feathers on top. Perhaps with her new looks she wouldn’t instantly be recognized but her chakra would have been… and she wanted to make an interesting approach.
With a smirk she would suppress her chakra and silently walk up behind the young man who was perching on a wooden post unmoving - meditating perhaps? Tilting her head to the side in curiosity she had to suppress a laugh as she heard him speak aloud to himself. Finally she was within arms reach of the boy and she leaned in slightly to his back, “Your dad seems wise if you asked me.” She was unsure exactly how he would react, would he simply give a small start then answer nonchalantly, or perhaps he would fall off the post startled into imbalance? Either way she would give a small smile and place her hands behind her back as she appraised him more closely - her crimson stained violet eyes boring into the boys’.
“I am Mizuki Ohta, your new team leader; our third member should be along shortly I expect.” She wouldn’t go into to much detail as she wanted to explain with the boys together… perhaps they would be happy to be on the same team? Or would it get in the way of their training? Hmmm… the thought captured her attention for a moment as she mulled it over, all the while allowing her eyes to cast around the area for anything of interest to build her first lesson around.

A slight breeze.
"Damn" Gin tighten the straps on his weapon pouches and threw on his beige poncho right before staring out the window. Foreigners would expect gentle breezes to be a omen for a good day, but this wasn't the tame forests of the Fire Country or the calm grasslands of it's neighbor, this is the Country of Wind. When the wind blows, it normally blows hot air and along the way, the sand will go with it, and even breezes will put hot sand in your eye.
With a full belly of breakfast, Gin left his home and made his way across the village. The summons was of someone of higher ranking, so to Gin, this could be a serious matter, so he brought everything with him; his weapon pouch, medical pamphlets, and his scroll that contained his project that he had been working on for some time now... his puppet. Subconsciously he lightly tapped his hand against the scroll which was tied to his belt as he hoped from one house-dome to the next.
Soon enough, Gin spotted the desert ironwood trees and the training placed by them. A minute later, Gin could see Yuurei atop a post, meditating, an odd position for someone as active as he was, and he noticed someone else as well, an adult. Seeing the adult sneak up behind Yuurei put Gin on edge and made him rush faster but once he noticed the woman confronted Yuurei in a calm manner, Gin changed his tension... to another; the person may not be an enemy, but she is someone new that he will have to meet and may have to fall into conversation with. He began to sweat.
Gin landed upon the rougher ground terrain and approached the two, "Mojiretsu Gin, reporting" he stood at attention after giving a firm bow towards the elder of the two ninja, his cloak-like poncho cloaked, hiding his hands, not that he suspected ill intent, just that he was nervous.

Yuurei would hear someone speak to him when he had mentioned his father. Out of instant, he decided to reply to the person that answered him.
“You’re right about that. Still, I’m trying to get used to meditating, but it isn’t working for me.” He said this as he paused for a second as he noticed that the voice that was talking to him was really close to him.
His eyes would open wide and he would turn his head to his left to see who it was that was talking to him from behind. He didn’t move and it was because he knew that he would fall off the log post he was on. It was a girl that was there and from the looks of things she was hiding her chakra signature. He would slowly get up from his seating position and he would turn around to look at the woman in front of him.
Yuurei tilted his head to the right as he was wondering where he had met her before. His eyes stared into hers’ for a bit as he was trying to figure it out. In the end, she would introduce herself as Mizuki and apparently his new team leader. That was when he raised his right hand up as he remembered where he had seen this person. She was sitting down on the desk when he had gotten inside of the room. Her attire completely different from last time, and it was the reason why she was hard to recognize. That was when she said their third member was arriving soon.
“Since you’re the team leader, I guess an introduction is due. My name is Yuurei Uchiha nice to meet you, Mizuki.” He said this to her as he would bow slightly towards her, but didn’t go too far as he didn’t want to bump her.
“So we have a third person, well that’s good to hear. I hope its Gin, that guy doesn’t like people as much as he should.” He said as he laughed nervously wondering who it could be.
That was when he felt the chakra signature of Gin, and he would have a smirk on his face because he was glad that it was him that had come here. It wouldn’t take long until he heard his friend speaking up to Mizuki, and Yuurei would be smiling at him.
“Glad that you’re here. It seems like we are officially going to be on the same team. That means Mizuki is going to enjoy the times that you decide to show up late.” He laughed a bit when he said that as he looked over to Mizuki before jumping down on the ground.
“So, I guess we are getting to know each other today? What are you skilled at Mizuki?” He asked her because he could only assume she read his assessment along with Gin’s assessment.

With her eyes still scanning the area the hint of a true smile would form on her lips, how enthusiastic and earnest he was, traits that a simple assessment would never be able to capture - nor would it have told her that he would not flinch at a strangers’ approach but simply turn to stare into her own unwavering gaze. Only raising an eyebrow in his staring, allowing his to place her if he was able in his memory - she remembered him as the first to show up that day; eager was another trait she could add to his ever growing list. She nodded her head in acknowledgement of his greeting; respectful too.
Now her eyebrows raised in real interest as Yuurei mentioned Gin with a nervous laugh, who was in fact their second teammate - shy… what an interesting quality for a shinobi of any merit. As if summoned by his name spoken aloud the boys chakra twinged at the edge of her awareness and suddenly was landing on the ground nearest Yuurei and came to stand near them… but noticeably closer to Yuurei. With a stiff bow he introduced himself with seriousness that did not match his age; these two couldn’t be more night and day- one a burning sun and the other a waning moon. I wonder… will this balance show up in combat as well?
This time a wry smile formed on her face, making her features twist into mischief. “I am skilled in very different things than the two of you. Ninjutsu, Fuinjutsu, and Sensory techniques are my specialty. I chose you two for your diversity and hoped-”, her eyes flitted between the two boys curiously, “- that pairing up friends would result in better cohesion of our very diverse skill set.” As she finished her sentence she would lift her fingers to gingerly untie the strap under her chin that held the hat to her head, once undown she would toss it accurately onto the post that Yuurei had been perched on only moments before. She would then stretch her arms out in front of her, fingers laced together. “Let's not be so formal though, let us … learn as we work. Multitasking should be something close to second nature to you. Working as a team I want you to spar with me.” Quickly she held up her hands out in a reassuring motion, the length of her dagger claws glinted in the sun. “Non-lethal, I just want to learn where each of you are and what you are comfortable doing already, no sense in teaching you how to walk if you are already sprinting.”
With this she took a few steps back until both boys were in the center of her vision and stood one hand hovering over a weapon pouch and the other prepared for any hand seals she might need to use. It was almost too easy to know that Yuurei would be the first to attack.. Not only because of his personality but the fact that Gin was such a reserved individual he seemed to take cue from Yuurei already; he was honest on his assessment and with that honesty came high value in his ability on this team… just don’t let Yuurei outshine you Gin.

Though Gin was tensed due to being in the presence of a superior, his nerves calmed a bit due to knowing Yuurei was there. Hearing his voice was a way of soothing the anti-social ninja, and he found it weird ever since they established their friendship since only his puppets and plays have ever had a calming effect... but then again, he had never had friends before Yuurei; friendship is still an enigma to Gin.
Gin simply nodded to Yuurei as greeting and reply to his statement, but truthfully the ninja was ecstatic to hear that they will officially be on the same team. But his nerves shook again as Mizuki-sensei stated she had picked them out specifically, the question popped into his mind "Had she been watching us?" He subconsciously clenched his fists beneath his cloak.
The moment she stated this would be a two-on-one sparring match, Gin immediately spread his legs to a combat position, a bead of sweat ran down the back of his neck. "This was it" He had been thinking the worst case scenario, that he would be tested. "Those eyes" He looked into Mizuki-sensei's eyes, their violet color seemed relaxing like the background scenery of a forest at twilight, but the moment she took a better position, she looked upon him and her eyes seem to change, the scenery within those beautiful orbs was now coated in the tint of blood.
Instinctively, Gin jumped back two meters behind Yuurei, he pulled out his scroll that he had to his side and quickly unraveled it upon the ground before him. He swiped his hand across the seal that was written on the scroll, "Release!" He said... but nothing happened. His heart throbbed. The fuinjutsu breaking technique wasn't working. Then Gin began thinking back to what he had read concerning the locking and breaking of the seal, he cursed at himself for not putting it into practice after reading the details.

Yuurei would hear what Mizuki was skilled in, and he had nodded as he was glad to hear that she had specialized in Ninjutsu. It was the one thing he wanted to better himself in, but he wasn’t sure where to start. Now having her as their mentor would be for the best, and he was glad that she knew Fuinjutsu because he remembered that it was something that Gin wanted to learn. Thinking about all of this he would have a smile on his face as this was actually good.
That was when he noticed that she was preparing herself for something. He could see that she took the top hat off, but better yet the stretching made him feel like they were doing some training assessment now.
This is interesting, I didn’t think we would be doing anything like fighting today. He thought to himself as he would hear her words. He didn’t bring his swords with him today as he didn’t think he would need them. He would rub the back of his head as he chuckled a bit as he figured he would be using his special Kunais as his melee weapons for the day.
He would crack his neck as he would rotate his shoulders and he would sigh as he would take out one of his Kunais from his weapon pouch as he would get into position as he would be five meters away from Mizuki.
“I am skilled at Weaponry, and Space-Time, but I’m sure you already know that.” He said to her with a smile on his face.
He heard the words nonlethal, and he would have to make sure that he wouldn’t cut too deep if he struck her with his weapons. He could see the concerned look on Gin’s face and he could only shake his head as he knew that his friend would feel this way. He watched his friend take out a scroll, and his eyes widen. He was going to finally see the puppet in action today? He watched his friend do a bunch of stuff with the scroll, and when he said the word release, Yuurei’s emotions had gone wild. He was ecstatic to see the puppet come out, but nothing came out of the scroll. He would rub the back of his head as he could tell that his friend had failed in summoning his puppet.
After he had that he would get back into position as he would blink for a second before activating his Sharingan. He figured that he didn’t need to put her in a Genjutsu as this was a good way for them to learn about each other right now. Instead, he would start things simple as he would perform three hand seals, and before he finished the third one he would spit out saliva from his mouth as he finished the third seal. This would change the form of his saliva into five needles that would be sent flying straight towards Mizuki at a speed and power of 35. While these needles were coming towards him he would spit out shoot out two Legacy Senbon that would go straight towards Mizuki. One of them coming from the left, and the second one coming from the right. They would be aiming for her shoulder as he was trying to slow down her motor function on her moving her arms around.
The Senbons would be moving at a speed of 135 and would go as far 42 meters if she moved back they would still head towards her. That is all he wanted to do right now, and it was because he was also trying to see what she would do against his attacks. It was also a combo he wanted to see would work. Using two techniques that were similar to catch the opponent off guard.

She remained poised as she watched the two boys prepare themselves in very different ways - not unexpected but different… fitting of their roles. Yuurei looked sheepish for only a moment as he collected his thoughts then immediately took action by taking out weapons he was most comfortable with and that he had at his disposal. Of course pulling out a melee weapon would be his go to since it was his main specialty - Mizu tensed her muscles down slightly ready to move in any direction - but instead of acting straight away he took the time instead to watch his partner Gin. Mizu smirked as she formed the Ram sign with her one left hand, holding it close to her side to keep it from exposing her technique, with her right she grabbed three senbon. The failed summoning technique was a disappointment but she wouldn’t hold it against him, more so she saw the potential - all that was needed was the … push. Who said the push didn’t have to be a little violent? He had jumped back into the space behind Yuurei so the task was not just to avoid the attack that was sure to come first from Yuurei but then to get past his own defenses and aim at his most exposed point - Gin.
She watched with growing interest as Yuurei also displayed another ability she knew him to have - and one she was all too familiar with dealing with - the cursed eyes of the Uchiha clan. Her time in the library had aided in uncovering more about this clan that her experiences with Kai and The Wraith had provided, and while she was still rusty around the power she at least knew some of the basics on how to avoid it and what to look for … though she didn’t sense any changes so she simply averted her gaze to just under his eyes. Resolving herself to not look directly into his eyes until the red tint melted away. Since she wasn’t paying attention to his face his hand signs were easy to read and while she wasn’t positive what was about to be thrown at her she knew what her next move was - releasing the Ram Sign she had been holding she flashed straight up in the air, rising 20 meters in a blur of movement and avoiding the cacophony of projectiles Yuurei had sent at her with smart placement - meant to pin her place laterally, almost had her too as the speed burst of her body flicker seemed to be the only thing keeping her from that hailstorm.
As she hung in the air for the few seconds of hang time she had, she weaved another hand sign with her left hand, the Clone Seal all the while she pinpointed her senbon with her right hand to shower around Gin - purposefully aiming to not hit him but to pin him down by throwing one behind him and on either side of him within a meter of his body. As she continued to fall back down to the earth she held the Clone Seal until she was within 8 meters of the ground and finally activated it to allow the Clone of herself to form directly underneath her - hit the ground before her and lean forward while placing its arms on the ground in the ‘downward dog’ position to allow her a smooth cushioned landing. Lastly she would form one final seal, Ram once again, just as her feet hit the small of the back of the clone she would tuck her body in and gracefully tumble over the clones back - landing on the balls of her feet and slamming her hands into the ground thus activating her jutsu.
A large curtain of water formed behind her, 10 meters in the air, and came crashing down at 40 speed around her with incredible force - leaving only her 2 meter triangle of space the only space not forcefully being swept up in water. The full spectrum of the jutsu would stretch 40 meters in a triangle shape and would swell to be 30 meters deep - if these two were not strong enough to resist or fast enough to avoid it they would be swept away with the current at 40 speed.

Gin felt his cheeks flush red, knowing that had the first move and yet he messed it up, clearly his first impression has been ruined and he was unable to put up a defense, luckily Yuurei took up the plate and made the first official move by throwing projectiles forward, even though Gin couldn't see his eyes from his position, he could tell by the precision of the throw, Yuurei must have activated his sharingan, if not, then the Uchiha simply had amazing hand-eye coordination and it wasn't like that was unlikely for an Uchiha.
Mizuki-sensei quickly replied by vanishing, "No! It's speed! But where!?" Gin didn't notice any sand debris around the area shift, which logically could mean she jumped. The moment Gin figured it out and looked up to find the female ninja in the air, it was too late for him to dodge out of the way from whatever projectile she was throwing, he then instinctively brought his hands up to block them. When he noticed nothing connected, he looked about himself to see that the senbons had landed around him, like a marker. It clicked in his head, she wasn't looking to harm him, but now the ninja was even more embarrassed, he was slacking and it didn't look good on him, "Come on, Gin! pick up the pace! Know your lines! The spotlight is on you!" he thought, trying to psyched himself up, trying to imagine himself like one of the lead roles in a big theater play. He positioned his arms and wiggled his fingers, getting himself calmed and ready for the next move.
Suddenly, the moment Mizuki-sensei landed upon the floor, a large amount of water came crashing down around her, sending out a wave towards him and his partner. He knew there was no way to run or jump over that, "Push forward, you're not an understudy" he told himself as he took a step forward, quickly picking up his scroll in his left hand, taking a firm standing position, then swung his arm while channeling his chakra, five empowered chakra threads whipped out from the fingers of his right hand, and in one vertical sweep, the threads slice through the incoming wave, cutting opening a break in the wave just big enough for Gin to passed through without being thrown backward, however he wasn't free from the rest of the water which felt more like low-tide.
Gin stood, his lower half wet from the passing water, now taking it's time to sink into the sand and sandstone. He then formed a seal with his left hand and -poof- into existence came the next actor on stage: a puppet of grayish wood, donning a gentleman's coat and tophat, which were the only thing genteel about it, it's eyes wide and shaking, and it's long metallic tail looked less classy and more intimidating. Gin flicked his right hand, the five chakra threads softened and attached themselves to the puppet, causing it to jerk to life. "Act 1: Scene 1, enter... Jack the Ripper" Gin widen his stance and lowered his upper body, taking a more comfortable stance, for now, he wasn't the actor, he was the director, introducing his star.
Jack the Ripper hovered 5 meters in front of Gin, careful not to cut his line-of-sight from Mizuki-sensei. The puppet's head twitched every few seconds and it's jaw made a rattling sound to add dramatic effect. Now Gin was calm, comfortable, confident... and ready.

Yuurei could see that her eye s would not meet up with his, and he could only simply smile from the fact that she knew what the Sharingan could do. When his attacks had been unleashed, she had other plans as she would disappear from his line of sight. At first, he was started for a second, but then he rememberedher chakra signature. His eyes would shift towards her location as he could see that she would attack Gin while descending from the sky. That was when she had created shadow clones to help herself make it down to the ground safely. It was a smart move, and soon enough he could see that she wasn’t done with that. He noticed that a bunch of her techniques had been used with one seal, which was interesting as he could then see from in front of him a huge wave would rush straight towards him and Gin.
He was getting ready to rush towards Gin, and take him away from this attack, but his eyes would shift back to Mizuki when he could see the confidence in his friend’s eyes. He had a smirk on his face as he could soon see that his partner would slice through the wave of water with chakra threads of his own. This was good, which meant that he didn’t have to worry about elemental attacks from Mizuki. It wasn’t just that, but he would feel something appear around him, and it would seem like Gin had finally brought out the puppet to the party. This was good as he had finally been able to see the puppet Gin had been working on this entire time.
He figured he would go on the offense as well as he figured that Gin would have his back if anything had gone wrong. His Kunai in his hand he would just point it straight towards Mizuki and he would allow things to go their way. The Kunai would extend as it would shoot straight towards Mizuki as he wasn’t planning on hitting any vital spots, but on her foot this time, so he could stop her movements. He figured he wouldn’t catch her, but he would hope to open an opportunity for Gin. His left hand would be ready to be used at any time to avoid anything his friend couldn’t counter. They had to work as a team and he knew that much and now that his friend had his puppet he wondered how things would go with the new addition.
