Water-Heavens Convergence Training(NK) Empty Water-Heavens Convergence Training(NK)

Fri Apr 19, 2013 6:27 am
Ayumi woke up to a beautiful morning with the sun shining brighter than ever, and it was very much befitting to her mood. Her uncle, Gortak already had woken up before her and prepared her a full breakfast for her accomplishment. There was steamed white rice, bowls of miso soup, tamagoyaki and even chocolate! Her uncle put his best into the making of these and although he wouldn't normally let Ayumi eat chocolate so early, he wouldn't restrict her today. After all that training and a stressful exam, yesterday was awesome for Ayumi, she finally became a genin and went on her first date in the same evening. After a cheerful breakfast with her uncle, she wore her well-deserved forehead protector. She wore it on her forehead, its name was "forehead protector" after all, she didn't understand people using it as a belt or anything else.

She quickly changed her clothes into training clothes and started walking to the door. Gortak was surprised seeing her leave already "You will start training in the first day? We should celebrate at least today Ayumi.", she knew her uncle had a point but she really wanted to learn new stuff now that she was an official "ninja". She didn't say anything and stood there for a while with an uncertain face. Gortak quickly understood Ayumi, he was living with her only for around a year now but could guess what she thinks most of the time correctly. "Alright, alright make sure you are here before dinner though, that Hideyoshi kid stole you last time, I will make my special dish this evening and you will be here on time!"

She promised to comeback before dinner and ran out with a smile on her face. She was waiting to become a genin to test a jutsu. She read about Water-Heavens Convergence a while ago and knew it was a rare A-rank jutsu that only few people managed to master. She wasn't strong enough and probably didn't have the chakra and the stamina to pull this off when she was at the academy but now that she proved herself with the genin exam, it was time to test herself. When she arrived to the training ground, she went straight to her spot near the river, this spot was pretty far from the entrance of training ground so it was most of the time a place she could be alone, concentrate and train on her own.

Water-Heavens Convergence was a jutsu that allowed bending and manipulating the water to the user's will. It was a very unique jutsu with endless possibilities of improvements for both attacking and defending. The down-side was that it drained massive amounts of chakra. Ayumi stood 3 meters away from the river and started by making the hand seals, tiger-dog-monkey-snake-boar-tiger, "Suiton: Suiten Hōfutsu!". She slowly started to extract water from the river and bend it to create some kind of a shield in front of her. The water looked too thin and weak to block any serious jutsu, it actually looked weaker than her water clones, but this first step was huge. Most people wouldn't have the tendency to use this jutsu at all. Her being able to bend the water like this at her first try could mean she had room for improvement.

Ayumi dropped the water that formed the shield and started bending water on the river. She very slowly started to walk away from the river while bending to see from how far she could handle the water. She walked for approximately 7 meters before the water dropped to the ground. So her limit was around 10 meters? Certainly, it was a very decent range for her first time. Next she came really close to the river to make sure she was giving her effort in the most efficient way. "If distance means difficulty, being close might mean ease." she thought. She was going to bend a big portion of water into a shape of kunai for attacking purposes. She made the seals and performed the jutsu, but after some big amount of water rose, it fell right back. It had been only 15 minutes and she was already out of chakra? She could also feel the weight increase on her legs. After a few seconds she felt really tired she blacked out and found herself on the ground.

Water-Heavens Convergence Training(NK) Empty Re: Water-Heavens Convergence Training(NK)

Fri Apr 19, 2013 8:29 am
Ayumi woke up a long 6 hours later with a serious headache. She gave her back to the trunk of a tree and sat there for a while waiting for the headache to go away. She thought her chakra pool was at least around average for a genin but she passed out after performing this jutsu 2 times and in very low levels. She had never experienced such conditions after chakra loss, but then again she had never lost this much chakra in such little time. It felt like her headache just increased as she kept thinking so she calmed down and filled her head with void.

After a few minutes she started feeling better but she was scared that something worse could happen if she used it again. She couldn't risk it until her chakra was fully back and even then, she would only perform the jutsu once, after that she would wait again. Ayumi was actually frightened by a jutsu's consequences for the first time and the fear was well-placed. Still what was she going to do until then? She wasn't sure back then whether she collapsed only because of chakra loss or because she was wasted physically too. She didn't feel any physical fatigue whatsoever kicking in now though, which probably meant her fainting had nothing to do with her stamina/strength. This meant she could run, swim, pretty much do any exercises that do not require chakra.

"Alright, let's start with running.", she first ran from one tree nearby to another a dozen times but running in the same route bored her pretty soon so she decided to run all over the training ground. Who knew maybe she would see someone familiar or meet someone new to spend time with as well. Although she cared a lot about her jutsu trainings, she didn't seem to be bothered that much when her physical training got interrupted. Also she has been more friendly since she got genin rank. As she ran towards the entrance of the training ground, she saw that mysterious Hyuuga kid {npc} from her Mizu Bunshin training, meditating not so far away. His eyes were closed so he didn't notice her coming near him. "Hey, remember me? You vanished without letting me thank you or even giving me your name last time." Ayumi said with a gloomy face.

The kid slowly opened his eyes, saw her weak chakra flow with his Byakugan and responded in a disregardful manner "I see you still continue failing. Ran out of chakra again?" Suddenly Ayumi jumped on him and hit him to the ground with her left hand on his throat. The kid didn't say anything and put a cocky smile on his face. "What are you smiling about you little.." she couldn't finish her sentence when she saw the poof under her left hand and realized it was just a Henge no Jutsu she was talking to.

Ayumi looked back to see the kid sitting and meditating in the same position she first saw him but a couple of meters away. She was about to attack him when she suddenly felt a pat on the back of her head. She turned back with fury thinking the boy fooled her again to see Gortak with an angry face she has never seen before. She remembered her promise about dinner and realized how late it was. He didn't say anything and started dragging Ayumi to the house. "Ok, ok I'm sorry I can explain..." she said first but understanding her mistake she later just went silent as she got dragged back home.

{Next day}

Ayumi woke up a little late next day unlike usual. She was happy that her uncle dragged her yesterday, Gortak and she had a great dinner together, went outside afterwards and talked until late. It was truly a good memory she would remember for a long time. Even though her parents weren't around for her graduation, Gortak was here and she was starting to see him as her real parent lately.

She went down the stairs on her toes and tried to leave as silent as she could since Gortak was still asleep. Since she didn't have breakfast, Ayumi went to Ichiraku to get some noodle soup before she found her way to the training ground. She heard a lot about their food being great, but never tried it since both her father and uncle are cooks. She ate the soup, and thought this place was overrated, it wasn't comparable to the deliciousness of her uncle's soup.

When she arrived to the training spot of hers, she saw the Hyuuga kid training there. He was obviously aware that Ayumi always trained there but still, there he was. In the huge training ground he selected the one spot that Ayumi trained in. This time, she didn't allow him to make her angry or let him play with her. She immediately left that spot and started unpacking somewhere else near the river. They were still close enough to see each other or rather, Ayumi was close enough, who knew how much distance the Hyuuga kid could see with his Byakugan.

She started to free her mind off everything, the Hyuuga kid, the awesome dinner and the jutsu itself . She didn't have a lot of shots in this training, she would try once and would have to wait a long time. It was very important that she gave all her effort every single time. After she freed her mind completely, she focused and performed the jutsu: "Suiton: Suiten Hōfutsu!"

This time a lot more water rose than last time and formed a shuriken after that she threw the water to the tree near her. The water went really fast and shook the tree a little but there was no considerable damage. Ayumi started walking towards the tree to sit nearby it with frustration, "Not there yet huh?" The tree suddenly splitted into two from the point she threw the water and started falling over her, she couldn't know what to do and was almost crashed under it but the tree stopped in the halfway as she heard: "Jūken: Hakke Hasangeki!"

It was the Hyuuga kid who came to rescue and hit the tree back with a powerful wave of chakra emitted from his right palm. He sighed, "Of all the people, why did it have to be you who can use Suiten Hōfutsu." She didn't even hear him talking gibberish about her as she was celebrating her strong attack. "Even though you are as rude as ever, thanks for saving me boy." she said in a happy manner.

"It's Remna, Remna Hyuuga." he replied firmly. So he didn't see her strong enough to even give his name until she cut that tree off? She was not approving his attitude but he finally had talked to her and it was fair to say he saved her life in a couple of times now. "I'm Ayumi Uzuki", she reached with her hand towards him for a handshake. He ignored her and walked past her, "I won't be around for a couple of days, Ayumi. Try not to get yourself killed." He quickly ran off, but at least Ayumi finally thanked him and learned his name. She hasn't heard of a Remna Hyuuga before although his talents looked so far very impressive, Ayumi thought of his level as maybe a strong chuunin or even jounin level.

What was it with him telling her to be careful not to get herself killed, could it be that he was watching over her all this time. It would make sense since he was there for her whenever she needed but why would he do that? She wrestled with these questions in her head when she saw someone walking in front of her. Someone she knew from the book she read about Water-Heavens Convergence, it was Senba Utuma, one of the rare shinobi that could master this jutsu. She knew he was a Konohagakure genin too but this was the first time she had seen him in person. She could really use her help, he should have gone through what she was now going through after all.

Water-Heavens Convergence Training(NK) Empty Re: Water-Heavens Convergence Training(NK)

Senba woke up very early this morning, and it irritated him.
He did not like waking up early, but could not help it. He made breakfast and
sat down to eat starring out of his apartment window. It looked very sunny
outside, and it was supposed to be very nice. He figured it would be a good day
to train, but really was fighting himself. Lately he did not train a lot after
mastering his water convergence technique. Senba, as stubborn as he was at this
moment, forced himself to get up and get ready to go train. He put on some
loose shorts and a white tank top. He grabbed his back pack, filled it with
water bottles and a few energy bars. He strapped on his katana across his back
then put on his back pack that covered the majority of the katana. Walking out
of his apartment he locked the door behind him and headed down the stairs. It
was now a little late in the morning and Senba headed out to the training
grounds.

Once he arrived at the border of the training grounds he
heard someone yell “"Jūken: Hakke Hasangeki!" Then heard a loud bang
guessing something fell from a powerful jutsu Senba did not think anything of
it. He was curious though to who was in the training grounds. Senba made sure
he was quiet and hopped into a tree. He saw a hyuga boy and a girl there. He
thought to himself “Are they training together?” This
thought was answered when the girl said "Even
though you are as rude as ever, thanks for saving me boy."
He then
noticed the tree and thought “So that was the loud
bang, and the hyuga boy saved her.”
He was intrigued though by the boy
said at first, "Of all the people, why did it
have to be you who can use Suiten Hōfutsu."
Senba was now really
interested in this girl. He did not know anyone else that could use this
technique. He hopped down from the tree and started walking into the training
grounds. He walked up to her and asked “Hi there my name is Senba. So you have the water heavens convergence
technique to?”
He then waited for a response from the girl.

"Yes, although I am not very skilled yet." she smiled. She knew cutting a tree was nowhere near mastering the jutsu. "I know who you are, I read about you when I researched this jutsu.", this was so perfect she couldn't believe it. One of the masters of this jutsu was standing right in front of her. She found him as she was just training in her spot, she didn't have to even search for him. How luckier could she get? But still, he could as well just walk away as if they never met. She looked down on her feet really hoping he would say yes as she asked "Would you be willing to help me maybe?"

Senba looked at a tree and thought "Was this a result of the training?" He chukled a bit at the site of the fallen tree. Senba overheard her name as well while he was sitting on the tree listening on the conversation. He was surprised that his name was any type of book though, but then again mastering such a jutsu is tough. Plus there are only a few in the ninja world that have this technique, and to find one in the same village he was in was amazing. Since she already knew his name he figured he could just use her name instead of asking. Senba smiled and asked "Sure Ayumi; what do you need help with?"

"Well..." she didn't really know what she needed help with either. She was now able to use the water to attack and defend a little but it was still not beneficial to use all her chakra to block a couple of C-rank techniques. The attack was also only as strong as her Suiton: Mizurappa and drained much more chakra. Her major problem was the chakra drain and she thought maybe he went through the same thing. She scratched her head and said "I am having trouble with the amount of chakra this jutsu drains. It is not even comparable to any others I used. Yesterday I passed out after using it two and a half times and now I am afraid to use it even twice. Did you have the same problems?", she asked this but she was really afraid his answer would be no. That would probably mean she doesn't have what it takes to use it and she would have to give up on it.

Senba knew what she was going through. This technique requires a lot of chakra and concentration at the start, but once you get use to micro managing your chakra it is a great asset. He remembered he passed out at one point from using it too much training. Senba smiled at her and said "Yeah the chakra drain can be hard to manage. You got to learn how to micro manage it all for you not to pass out. Once you figure that out it becomes very easy. I had this same problem, hell, I even passed out at some point along the way." Senba laughed a bit then continued "Days of training me and my friend spent the night here. From the time we woke up till we went to be was all training. That is how i got to learn and master this particular jutsu. I am rambling though sorry just thinking. What exactly have you been trying to do? Did you take down this tree with it?"

She was relieved when she heard Senba got through what she was going through. She replied: "No problem, it is nice to hear your hastle with these same difficulties. And yes, I extracted the water from the river, formed a big weapon that kinda looked like a shuriken although I couldn't quite pull its shape off and then I directed my attack to this tree. I thought it had no effect but a little cut at first and was going near it to rest when it almost fell on me, I didn't have chakra to stop it and I think you saw the rest.".

As she talked about what happened she had her mind on this concept of micro managing the chakra Senba mentioned. "What do you mean by micro managing the chakra?" she asked with a curious look. She didn't even know what micro management was, of course she would fail if that was important. Hopefully it wasn't some basic concept that she should have already known as a genin but since Ayumi was a "nerd" during academy she would have probably heard about it if that was the case.

Senba smiled and was impressed that she was able to cut down
a tree so early. He took the time to notice how beautiful it was outside. The
nice cool air and the river was sparkling from the suns light. It was cool and
breezy just the way he liked it. Senba explained "You
did well to do that but you might have started off kind of big. The way i
trained was i sat by the water and formed simple bubbles. This is where the
"micro managing" comes into play. I took note on how much chakra it
took to pull the water and form it into a simple sphere of water. I started
small and worked my way up. If someone knew exactly how much chakra it took to
pull and form a certain amount of water and not over exert yourself it would be
much easier. Of course the more water you pull and what you’re trying to form
it in requires much more chakra. At least that is how I thought about it, but
it worked for me."
Senba walked over to
the water and did not really have to focus. He built up a small amount of
chakra and pulled a small amount of water from the river and formed it
into a sphere.
He then said "Once you
got the hang of the small stuff you work up to the bigger stuff like your water
shuriken. Get what I am saying?"
