Water Training (IO, NK)

Aslatiel would arrive at his favorite training ground once again in the morning, like clockwork, to train again. Although it couldn't be seen yet, there was something very different about today, something that would make it harder to train, and another that would make it easier. Rather than just training a jutsu today, Aslatiel had decided he would be learning an entire new element.  Specifically, Suiton, Water Release. This would open up a number of jutsu that could be used alongside his fire and non-elemental techniques, giving him a huge advantage over other genin, most of which had only one element.  This was also going to put him a bit behind, as he was spending today learning an element, and as such would not be gaining anything from this until he also trained some jutsu to go along with it. He was hoping that the other difference, a teacher, could make that easier as well. Until Aryll arrived, he would need to train and give himself a bit of a head start. He started the same way he had begun learning how to use his fire, way back when he was an academy student.  He simply tried to feel it within himself, focusing on it's very essence. Water flowed easily, and with enough force to break through even the strongest of barriers, washing away whatever it hits. He would continue this meditation, attuning himself to the element until Aryll arrived.

It was finally becoming easy for Aryll to get to the training grounds alone. Her arms were becoming stronger each day, and the uneven ground along the path that lead to Kirigakure’s training area was posing far less of a challenge to Aryll. As she worked her way up the path, the chair lurching forward against the gravel one push at a time, Aryll smiled through the rain. God, it was always raining here, and Aryll loved it. Who didn’t love the rain?

As she arrived at the training grounds, she saw that there were very few people there. Seeing as she had not had much practice getting around without the chair, this was probably for the best. The area was open, full of training dummies, but Aryll wasn’t looking for a dummy, or at least, she didn’t think she was. She’d met a kid who wanted to learn Suiton the other day, and decided that helping someone learn the element wouldn’t be too bad. Her hair was up in a bun, in a look that was most unusual for Aryll, who usually let her silvery locks flow freely. Her outfit was simple, a blue tank top over black and grey sweatpants, some tennis shoes, which she wore mostly ceremoniously, but also practically, as Aryll might just get up and walk should the need arise. It was nice to have the option, even if she didn’t have much taste for it.

She pushed her chair towards the silver haired boy, marveling at the sheer number of silver-haired people that kirigakure harbored, herself included, and waved a greeting.

”Hello.” She said simply, waving at the boy. ”Are you ready?” She asked, holding her arms up, gesturing to the light rain around them. ”Be thankful we have such an abundance of water, it makes training much easier.” She jested.

Looking up from his focused state at Aryll as she arrived, Aslatiel would rise up to his feet to properly greet her. Bowing, he spoke " Hello, are you ready to train?" He didn't know much about this person based on their previous meeting, but they seemed alright. They would definitely be able to beat Aslatiel in a fight at this point, mostly due to the giant ass puppet she had, which appeared to have enough mass to take out a speeding rhino. Aslatiel had grown to ignore the strange number of silver haired people, as it was apparently just something Kirigakure had. Maybe the storm barrier did some weird advanced chakra stuff to them, and made them have hella cool hair, who knows. Back to the subject at hand, she was younger than him, had broken legs, and was a girl, but could still easily beat him. This would have to be remedied through training, and soon. Aslatiel refused to be beaten by a 15 year old crippled girl! All of this would be thought as he awaited a reply from the kunoichi.

As the boy rose and greet her, Aryll would nod.
”Ready freddy. I’ve got some stuff here for you to practice with, it should be good for getting an understanding of how to control Suiton.” She told him, retrieving a few wooden rings that she had hung on one of the handles of her chair. They varied in size, the largest being about the width of a hoola hoop, the smallest being about the width of a basketball. She set them on the ground, beckoning the boy to come closer. ”C’mere and sit down. We’re gonna do a bit of meditative exercise first.” She would explain, pointing to the ground before her. She’d wait for him to do so, then she would look up to the sky for a moment, as if drawing inspiration from the rain itself.

Once he’d sat, Aryll would begin to speak.
”Alright, so I’m gonna tell you a little bit about Suiton before we begin. Get ready for a crash course on the history of H20.” She said, her flair for theatrics showing as she began her short lecture on the intracacies of fucking water. ”Suiton is one of the basic elemental nature transformation techniques. It allow the you to manipulate pre-existing water, or sometimes even create your own. Some people can turn their chakra into water, some draw from water in the air, and some even use their own bodily fluids. It’s much easier to manipulate pre existing water then to create your own. Suiton is one of the most versatile elemental natures because it is capable of changing both shape and state. Some techniques allow you to manipulate your Suiton’s weight and viscosity, making it excellent for capturing and subduing a target.” She lectured, her tone surprisingly formal and businesslike as she described her primary elemental affinity. Water was something Aryll had always held a passion for, and she loved teaching people to utilize it.

”Are you taking notes, kiddo?” She’d ask, stopping her lecture for a moment, mostly in jest, unless of course he actually wasn’t paying attention, in which case she’d summon Thane and beat him senseless for wasting her time. Assuming there was no issue, she would continue. ”Good. Now, where was I? Oh, right. So Suiton is especially effective against Katon, for obvious reasons. That said, don’t go splashing S-Ranked flames with C-Ranked Suiton and expect to come out on thought. Water boils and water evaporates if the fires are hot enough. In that same vain, Doton is particularly effective against Suiton. It dissipates the force of the water and even absorbs it. That said, too much water will flush out the dirt, so if you hit a Doton construct hard enough, it’ll fall like all the rest. If you’re a user of Raiton, infusing it with Suiton is a common and powerful tactic. If you’re privy to Fuuton, you can infuse the two to make even bigger waves.” She continued, long winded explanations of her favored element coming quite naturally to her.

”Any questions so far?” She would ask, eagerly awaiting the boy’s answer. She was like that teacher who was waaay too excited about the subject they were teaching

Coming closer, Aslatiel would inspect the rings as he listened.  He couldn't imagine what they were for, other than maybe for some sort of accuracy training.  He had never used rings for anything other than shooting fire through them when learning jutsu.  He had never used them when he was first learning fire however, and was wondering how Aryll intended to use them.

Listening to the lesson he was being given, Aslatiel was reminded of when he was younger, and his teacher was giving him after school lessons on how to use his fire - one of the advantages of his element matching that of his teacher.  He remembered the facts about fire itself, how it was good against this and bad against that, but hearing the relations of water to the other elements inspired him to think of a question.  As he continued listening, he formulated a couple more questions he could ask, but decided they were pointless at this point.  So, after she finished talking and asked for any questions, Aslatiel would present one.  "Do you know if there is any way to mix fire and water? Fire is currently my only other element, and I've been trying to come up with ways to use it and water together.". He knew that there were some people who could use the two together to make a new one, but he was pretty sure that was a bloodline thing, and not something anyone could learn.

After receiving the answer for his first question, assuming it didn't provoke any more, Aslatiel would ask his second question. "What are these rings for?"

The boy eyed the rings curiously, but said nothing about them so far. Good, Aryll probably would have gotten annoyed if interrupted. They were an old family trick, something that had been used when teaching Aryll herself suiton, and the same went for her brother, her father, and his father before him, and his father before him. It wasn't so much a Hyuuga tradition as something that their family in particular had used. Suiton was a particularly common chakra manifestation in her family, and only Haru had been able to break that mold by being attuned to Raiton, although even he eventually mastered Suiton as well. They all felt a certain call to the sea, to the water, and it was a large reason as to why Aryll was so passionate about teaching the element.

When he asked about mixing Katon and Suiton, Aryll shrugged.
"I don't have Katon myself, so I'm not sure, but I believe there is something called Boil Release that employs that combination. Without creating a whole new element, you could use Katon to heat water and make it scalding hot, or even turn it into steam to distract your enemies. That's just off the top of my head, I'm sure there would be more uses for combining the two." She explained dutifully. 

When he finally asked what the rings were for, Aryll smiled.
"We're going to play a game to get you attuned to controlling Suiton." She said, holding up the largest of the rings. "I'm going to give you a ball of water to control with your chakra. Your first task is to sustain its size and shape. Once you've done that, I'll throw this ring into the air." She explained, holding the hoola hoop sized ring so that it was clear to see. "As it falls, you need to throw the ball through the ring, then catch it when it reaches the other side. It won't be easy at first, but it'll come naturally once you've mastered suiton. She explained, holding out her hand and applying chakra directly to it. The falling rain quickly filled her hand with a ball of water, which expanded until it was about the size of a basketball. 

"Think fast!" She would shout, suddenly passing the ball of water to the boy. If he were lucky, it would only splash in his face a little bit.
