Baenlin's patrol mission
Tue Apr 23, 2013 11:41 am
Mission Name:Patrol
Rank:D
Type:Scouting
Character Requirements:N/A
Mission Location:Village Gates, Kumogakure.
Word Count Requirements:300
Repeatable? Yes.
NPC?N/A
Reward:450
Task:
Scout around the village to make sure the area is secure. If anyone who doesn’t seem to be an ally is seen, report it to higher ranking shinobi.
All was, as Baenlin had expected, quiet along his patrol route today. As it was every other day Baenlin had patrol. From the way Baenlin saw it, the way it probably always be. Only the most skilled of shinobi would be able to make it to Baenlin’s position mid-way up the mountain without being intercepted, and nothing short of an army with the most organized plan of attack would be able to effectively assault the village, and even then they would be hard press. These thoughts, however, did not drag pull Baenlin out of his state of awareness. The patrol was his duty and he would give it his all, personal opinion be damned.
Still, Baenlin’s mind did wander somewhat between runs from cover to cover, while he waited for an enemy that would never come. He would think over things he had read recently, committing them to memory. He gave thought to new jutsu, making future plans for them and their creation. He wandered about Miss Takamura, whom he had not seen since several days before passing his genin exam. He thought about his future, hoping that his recent association with Ganki would lead to having a functional team and more beyond that. But mostly he thought of how fortunate he was. It was not so very long ago that his sole thoughts would have been where he could go find work for his next meal or how he would stay alive during the next snow storm so high in the mountains. Sure, he still lived in the open, but he was able to afford some protection from the elements now in the form of warm clothes, blankets and a tent. All in all, his choice to become a shinobi had treated Baenlin well so far.
As dust started to settle, Baenlin realized that his shift was over and he started to turn back towards the village to report in and send out his replacement for the route.
