Task:
A few cats belonging to an old lady have ran away, she requested help on getting them back. Your job is to find the five missing cats and bring them home.
Yet another pointless task; collecting an old woman’s missing cats? Skorn couldn’t believe how far he was stooping just to make a few bucks. Well, at least this time he didn’t have to deal with children, and he didn’t have to listen to their sniveling little cries. In fact, Skorn somewhat liked animals, he liked them more than he was able to like any person. They were not corrupted by society and establishment like the human race, and they didn’t constantly run their mouths. That being said, they didn’t taste as good as people. He’s tried. Yet, with this stupid little task, Skorn was reminded of how he was forced to do things like this rather than go on missions that matched his skill level much better. Now he had to recover some lady’s kittens because she forgot to close her window. Great. Now, how should he go about finding these cats? Should he take a direct approach and ask the lady where they might have wandered off to, or should he just search around town until he found them? Skorn contemplated his two options as he sauntered through town; however, it looked like neither of these alternatives would prove to be necessary. As he passed a sketchy, narrow alleyway, Skorn hears the sweet symphony of frantic meowing. Wow, he really got lucky on these missions, often times he did not even have to do any work, the solutions would simply present themselves before his eyes. Skorn ventures into the alley, investigating the source of this strange noise. His search leads him to a tin trashcan, which he opens up. There are 5 small kittens of different colors inside of a black trash bag; thankfully, this trash bag is not tied, so the fragile creatures have been afforded plenty of oxygen. They look up with wide, relieved eyes at Skorn as he peers down at their frightened little faces. Skorn wonders what kittens taste like, he has only ever tasted a puppy, never a kitten. Lifting a small white one out of the barrel, he tentatively licks its soft fur. Yuck! It’s far too salty. Well, he has nothing to do but return the little felines back to their rightful owner now. Skorn rips a small hole in the side of the bag, allowing a spot for the kittens to breathe, then he ties it and hoists it over his shoulder. How had these little animals even got here in the first place? Either the local pound was getting lazy, or this lady really didn’t care for her kittens as much as she had been leading people to believe. Oh well, it was really none of his concern, he just wanted his money. Skorn makes his way through town, back to the ladies house. When he gets there, she is truly relieved to have her kittens back, they are the only ones who will ever love her apparently. Skorn gets paid and leaves, just another day in the life of Skorn Jigoku.
