Rising Lightning [Training/Spar, IO, NK]
Thu Jul 11, 2013 10:16 pm
The sounds of cicada rang through the cool night air, the lone genin out in the wilderness of the mountains taking time to meditate. He needed to calm his mind and body for the upcoming brawl in his mind, and prepare himself for the battles he would have to face in the near future. For these next couple nights, he was going to train to his fullest, having read up and researched on many things since his last encounter with other genin. First and foremost, he started to research this 'Devil Gene', having found little to nothing in the library, and anyone he asked knew nothing about it. Even his grandmother refused to speak to him about this 'Devil' entity, telling him that unless he really needed to know, she would tell him nothing. He did not bring up the recent event where he almost literally turned into a Devil, for it looked like his grandmother was on the verge of a heart attack just from his asking of the devil gene. After his studies on the Devil gene proved fruitless, he turned to learning more jutsu and expanding upon what he referred to as the 'Shock Release', this crimson lightning that flowed from his body. He had ran over town without rest, asking people about Jutsu and Jutsu ideas so he could try and incorporate more power into his skillset. The fight with Tee and Inijo was a wakeup call that he needed to become stronger, and no one was going to wait for him.
For now, however, he was going to fight against the demon in his mind once again whilst he had his camp set up. He had steeled himself for this training, bringing a week's worth of food, a tent, a sleeping bag, as well as books from the library that he would be using to learn Jutsu from. But, in his meditative trance, none of that mattered.
What mattered, however, was this demon that sat on a throne in his subconscious mind, the rather cocky looking demon sat there lazily, staring at Souji with malicious intent in his eyes. "This shall be our final fight. Either you will fall and I gain this body...or I give you full command of my power." The demon said simply before launching itself at the young Genin...only to be thrown against the ground face-first, the young genin having side-stepped him and locked the arm that was trying to Superman-punch him in the face, grabbing the back of his head and locking his arm. Souji, at that point, would simply let the momentum take them both and fall back, slamming the demon's face right into the ground with prejudice. The ground gave way a tad, leaving spider-web like cracks in the ground. The demon gasped in pain, unsure what to think about this change in development. He had been keeping up with Souji's training through their mutual connection, but he didn't think things would be changed like this.
"Stand up. I want to knock you around some." He said, the young genin coaxing the demon back up with a hand. The ensuing battle was short, however. The demon was unable to lay a finger on Souji this time, the genin being at full strength as well as having seen through the demon's moveset from the first time they fought.
"Impossib-"
Was all he was able to get out before Souji grasped his head and slammed it right into the ground, leaving quite the bloody mess on the ground...if the demon was not just a part of his subconscious mind. The demon's mental body dispersed into waves of crimson lightning, surging around Souji's body in both his physical and mental states. The lightning surged mostly around the mark of the demon that was situated on his right arm, the mark glowing, yet not searing like it usually did. In an instant, Souji woke up, his usually blue eyes a full milky white as he stood up, still fully in control of his body and his consciousness. In that instant, the transformation became full, the wings bursting from his back from his chakra, and his horns from his forehead. Instead of the grotesque transformation that he had to endure the first time, this seemed to be more of a quick, natural transformation into what he referred to as his 'Devil Form'. A shockwave from his natural chakra and the quick spreading of his wings buffeted the area, kicking dust up as well as collapsing his tent.
If he was paying attention to his tent, he would have been mad. But all he had was a goofy grin on his face as he jumped up and started flying around in glee, letting out whoops and laughter in pure, outrageous happiness. "SUCCESS!" He said, remembering how much pain it was going through the first transformation. He may look quite evil still, but it was a power he had gained through his own right and merit, and he was happy with it. Now....on to his training.
He soared down and picked up a book, flipping through it. It was 'The arts of the old world, Volume I abridged'. It was a little collection that a Ninja of the old world had put together from his findings on different jutsu. First was this 'Body Flicker', a technique that Souji had deduced was the reason for Tee's incredible speed. He looked at the details, floating in the air by flapping his wings once in a while, reading through the nuances of the technique, like how one how to evenly energize their cells with chakra for the sudden burst of speed and how one also had to keep them energized for as long as they wanted. He tapped his chin in thought but just shook his head, closing the book and flying down, landing on the ground. He closed his eyes, taking a deep breath as he did the hand-sign he remembered Tee doing, concentrating his chakra flow from his chakra pool to each one of his individual cells, making sure to put a drop of chakra into his cells quickly, spreading out his power evenly into his body's mainframe. In an instant, he was gone from where he once was, flying at breakneck speeds and keeping himself at those speeds, a satisfied grin on the face of the Genin. He landed back where he began, the drain on his chakra pool being very minimal. He did it again and again through the night, testing his flying and running speeds around the mountain and dodging animals along the way. After about an hour of him faffing about with his super speed, he stopped, letting out a little sigh. He got some water and poured it all over himself..and regretted it since he got it into his ruby-red third eye, the water-filled eye feeling quite awkward now. After about ten minutes or so, he managed to clean out his eye. Even if he couldn't see out of it, he still considered it an eye...and it must've been important if it was on his forehead.
He retrieved the book once again, looking through the pages once again. He muttered to himself before he found what he was looking for, a smile on his features. "Shadow....Clone Jutsu." He said simply, knowing this would be quite the feat to accomplish if he could do it in one week, let alone one night. But...he had to try. He took a deep breath, reading through the nuances of the Shadow Clone Jutsu technique. This was nothing like the clone technique they had learned about in the Academy. Instead of making it look like you were making copies of yourself, you were ACTUALLY having to make clones of yourself. This..was going to be a tough one. He put down the book and started figuring some things out about the jutsu, sitting down to start and rest his body from the use of the Body Flicker technique for so many times. He started to gather his wits, thinking about how he was going to do it. He visualized it, first off, in his head. He would have to separate his chakra from his body and materialize it as a being of chakra that looked exactly like him, had his power, had his movements and techniques, could hit someone, could take a hit (save for a fatal one), do jutsu and...GAH. His brain was about to fry from how he was going to be able to go through with this training for this cloning jutsu. It wouldn't be like Tee's lightning clone, but more like the clones that Inijo used. He sighed a bit, standing up and flapping his wings. He would get nowhere by just sitting around and thinking. He made a cross-shape with his fingers, concentrating his chakra inward then outwards. He panted, starting to feel the drain on his body as his chakra left his body and went to his side, a puff of smoke materializing next to him then...nothing. It shaped, but it could not hold its shape long enough to make a proper clone. That idea went out the window. He made the chakra denser, pushing it outside of his body in a densely packed shape, which he forced to quickly take shape in the form of well...his form. It worked...somewhat. He didn't get the wings or the horns, but he did manage to get everything else. The clone was able to move, punch, talk, and fight, so he had gotten closer, at the toll of quite a bit of chakra. He had used too much on one clone. He needed to rest. He dispersed the chakra, feeling it go out like the wind.
He quickly rested, eating a quick, healthy dinner of Soba noodles and Edamame before resting for about 8 hours. He woke at the crack of dawn and once again tried to manifest a clone. This time, he succeeded with as minimal chakra drain on his body as possible, the Shadow Clone looking like an exact replica of him, down to the wing and horns. It looked like he was looking in a reflection, save for his image being flipped. He smiled in victory once again, the book helping him quite a bit when it came to his training. Now then....it was time to train some techniques that he had seen in a dream last night. He had no idea if they would work, though he had to try.
If he didn't, then he wouldn't have diversions while he tried to figure out his opponent's abilities while in the chuunin exams. He also wouldn't have the power to do multiple attacks. He needed this power if he was going to make it through the Chuunin exams.
He took a deep breath as he felt the flow of chakra in his body once again. He kept close attention to it, feeling his chakra 'jolt' out of his body and a wave of lightning crawl upon his skin, feeling like a tickling sensation every time his chakra jolted into its 'Shock' form. He had a smile on his face as he began to test some things. He took a deep breath and flexed his muscles, bracing his body for a forceful surge in that natural bio-electric field of his, the electricity forming into the shocks once again around his body, a field of crimson electricity forming around his body as he surged his chakra. After about five minutes or so, he stopped, panting lightly. He grunted in displeasure, unable to make his chakra take shape or anything once he had made it flare out like that. It was wild and untamed, like true lightning instead of chakra-constructs in the form of lightning. This felt like it would be more of a challenge than the shadow-clone jutsu. He took another deep breath, making his chakra flow more calmly instead of letting it rage out of control like a lightning storm. Instead, he treated his body like a direct current, flowing the chakra in a certain way: towards his hands and feet. He wanted to try to make an armament for himself in order to combat Taijutsu users or people who used weapons. The first thing that came to mind were armored gauntlets and greaves. For whatever reason they came first, he did not know, but it seemed like quite the good idea.
He was not, however, that proficient at crafting and shaping high concentrations of chakra, like he was attempting to do at the very moment. Though, he had to try. The direct current idea seemed to be working, soft waves of the Shock Release lightning flowing around his arms, smoothing out and shaping itself slowly, albeit fluidly, around his arms and legs, he was taking deep, even breaths as he did this. He was relaxing his body and letting his chakra move naturally to his appendages and shape itself to its leisure. Though, this whole process was taking much too long, knowing that even if he could shape the chakra and keep it steady, his opponent wouldn't sit there and let him charge them up. He had to strike a balance between wild and soft. He tapped his chin and then smiled, nodding to himself as he once again got an idea for this technique. He placed his feet firmly on the ground, sliding one foot into a front stance and placing his feet parallel to one another, balancing himself out as he got into his fighting stance. He put up his guard, opening his defending hand while his offensive hand (the one closest to his back-leg's waist), was closed in a fist. He let his chakra rage for a moment, the lightning aura appearing over him once again. Then, he flowed the raging chakra out towards his hands, taking nice, deep breaths as it started to settle and take shape quickly, forming gauntlet-like lightning around his hands while his feet were covered in greave-like lightning. It wasn't fully condensed, but it was leagues better than what he had before. He broke the 'jutsu' once again, doing it again and again in rapid succession as he attempted to get it down to it's fastest level. He succeeded, the lightning coming and leveling out around his fists at a breakneck pace, but he could only hold the concentration for a little while before it went back into its natural, passive state.
Now it was time to put his earlier idea into fruition, the young genin tapping his chin as he thought about how he was going to do this. His eyes were quite the fragile organs, knowing that for a fact. He knew that if he tried the same stunt as he did with Body Flicker, that he would probably explode his eyes out of their sockets and there would be nothing but a bloody mess in his eyes. And no one wanted that. He walked around, having maintained his devil transformation since yesterday, unbeknownst to him. He now paced around the area, giving his eyes small bursts of his chakra..which only made his eyes ache and pulse a tad. It didn't increase his vision any, nor did it increase his perception. He grunted, trying to do the same thing to his eyes with a good bit of shock-release infused chakra. In turn, he was on the ground, clutching his face as he rolled around. His eyes burned like someone squirted lemon juice in them, the young genin immediately regretting his decision. After the little fiasco, he sighed, sitting down on his butt and taking a moment to eat some sweets his grandmother had prepared for him. The sugar was a nice incentive for his training. It was just a sweet roll, after all and some Takoyaki.
After his little snack, he rose to his feet, cleaning himself off and preparing himself once again. He had learned too much shock release chakra was bad for his eyes, but what if he just edged in little by little and then used his body as the rest of the conduit for the dangerous voltage of his eyes so they wouldn't blow up inside of his head. He took a deep breath and sent the tiniest amount of shock chakra to his eyes. They didn't hurt, and he felt as if things slowed down by the tiniest bit for a moment before they went back to normal. He smiled. It was a small victory, but a victory nonetheless. He took another deep breath, putting more chakra into his eyes bit by, watching things slowing down more in his sight and for longer period's of time before he reached his maximum, feeling his eyes starting to become pained for a bit after he had reached his maximum. He rubbed his eyes a tad, the shock release chakra dispersing back into his body and out of it as crimson lightning. That was one more obstacle out of his way.
Now then...it was time to use what the demon in his dream referred to as 'The staple technique of the devil gene'. The demon just told him how it was done, and no other details. It made him a bit mad, but it did put his horns to use. The horns themselves acted as a natural conduit for the Shock chakra in his body, which is why he was shocked quite heavily when he first touched his horns. He took a deep breath and started to stretch out his body. He needed to be quite limber if he was going to be doing this 'jutsu'. He needed his chakra flow, from the tips of his horns to the soles of his feet, to be completely aligned. One false step and he could end up frying himself or destroying his horns completely. Both of those sounded quite unpleasant, so he was going to try to avoid those outcomes. He took a deep breath, focusing his chakra from his body, making it swirl around and burst out in the form of lightning when it got to built up in one place or another. He focused his lightning to the tips of his horns, the energy swirling around his horns, the crimson lightning bursting off of it and along the ground, raising up rocks and scorching the earth. He grunted, sweating as he found it difficult to control such a concentration of volatile chakra. In an instant, it was released in the form of a beam, a thick beam of crimson lightning, about the thickness of a small barrel, was released from his horns, causing visible pain to the genin. It dispersed after a couple seconds, but its drain was evident. He was on the ground, passed out for a good ten hours.
He awoke with a jolt, his stomach growling for food since he never ate anything of substance yesterday, heating up some beef that his grandmother had packed for him straight out of his cooler. The meat wouldn't last for very much longer, but the vegetables would. He needed to cook the meat within the next 3 days or so or else it would be spoiled.
After a rather nutritious meal, he was back at it again, his body's chakra stores replenished to (almost) maximum capacity. He started it again, failing time and again. Sometimes he would shock himself after putting too much chakra into it, the beam wouldn't form from him unable to shape the chakra correctly, other times it would fizzle out from the chakra balance being off just slightly. It irritated him to no end. He continued to write down formulas in his head and crossing out the ones that didn't work. Finally...he made a breakthrough. It wasn't as powerful as his first beam, but, given his current situation, he didn't need power. He needed control. Souji started to gather chakra in his head again, this time focusing to both his third eye and to his horns. Surprisingly, it did not hurt in the least, though it did creep him out mostly. The eye acted as the perfect concentration spot as his horns worked as the conduits, the beam being stable, able to be held for a little bit, though not powerful enough to be corporeal. It was something he would have to work on, but at least it was complete now.
The young ninja sat back on his butt, taking a rest from his new success. But, he knew he had quite a bit more training to do. Though, he needed to sleep. His body ached from sleeping on the mountainside, and he needed to set back up his tent from his flub-up two days ago. He grunted as he went back over to his campsite, setting back up his tent, moving his sleeping bag into it, turning OFF his demon form, and going to bed at noon.

It was noon, the time was around twenty to one PM, the starting of the day for most unless you’re a natural morning person in which a lot of ninjas had to be for a large portion of their missions. A ninja is nothing without ninjutsu, without the proper usage of far range chakra usages. But I’m watching a particular ninja that doesn’t use ninjutsu but instead found his heart in the heat of Taijutsu. This particular ninja actually had a random assignment to fight a particular ninja that was around his skill level by village means. His attire was the usual white pants, no shirt, shoes and all business as his eyes laid eyes on a particular setting around the setting which he identified as his target. He had to get started, it was a mission he choose to do on his own, this time no pay – Assigned to give his opponent a bit of close quarter combat. “Face me, I am your opponent for today” he said as he slipped into a random but very unusual Taijutsu stance in which was something he needed to prefect but his own none the less. The currents in the wind would prepare themselves for this one and it was no running Anarchy wouldn’t have it, he was going to fight as a gennin on equal terms. There wasn’t much detail on the post, because the writer isn’t listening to the right music and he was just going to wait for his chance to get pumped up.

Souji....was having a somewhat bad day. He had woken up in a hospital after his injuries from the chuunin exams overtook him and he was carried out in a stretcher from his broken bones. That compressed air blast or whatever 'Yaju' did from the chuunin exams had hurt him pretty bad. Though, in due time, his bones had mended themselves together in a way that they were stronger than ever. He hated to admit it, but he had lost. If only he had used some tools or even HAD tools on him during the fight, things may have gone differently. But, he was not the type to look in the past for too long, since he would not move forward if he did. He had taken time to...liberate himself from the hospital bed he was in whilst in the dead of night to come to his campsite, finding it unharmed after days of being by itself. He had no food there (since he ate it all the week before the chuunin exams), and had taken time to stock himself with food that was healthy and filling.
Though...he had soon found himself with another person, a rather rude one at that, while he was in the middle of enjoying some shrimp and udon noodles. He put down the bowl and covered it up with a to, the meal being only half done and the shinobi being quite irritated that his meal had been disrupted in such a rude manner. He got up, albeit slowly, and stared at the man. "Name yourself and your fighting style." He said simply, getting in his own Taijutsu stance. He wanted to follow old traditions if this person was going to act like he was. "Souji Tendou. Tendou Style Self-Defense." He said, stating his name and his style. His stance was simple, being his left foot being parallel to his right foot in a balanced front stance, his torso somewhat turned to the side so that only a small portion of it was in direct sight. His left hand was forward as his defensive hand. It was open as well, to catch a fist or deflect a fist with a quick movement, as well as counter-attack if need be. His right hand was back, level with his solar-plexus as his attacking hand, which was balled up in a loose, but firm fist. His knees were bent outward in a comfortable position so that if they were kicked at, they wouldn't break, and he could also get extra power and speed into his punches and kicks. "Are we only going to do Taijutsu? It'd be more fun that way." He said, not wanting to waste chakra on a random fight out of nowhere.

“Sounds perfect” spoke the Kaguya breed, so realizing it was only going to be one person was making it easier but still his job was to investigate the gennin skill. At the same time he had some knots to unwrap up before he would rest meaning none stop training which would include the beat down of the man who calls himself Souji Tendou – First five seconds after the close quarter specialist spoke there was no words and no real change of stance – The breathing kicked in on his part as you could feel the calm aura around the white haired ninja. His older brother is no where to be found, it was alright because he had goals to achieve and ninjas to battle. Kaigen however had to find an opening, though from the looks of things it looked pretty easy – but he understood that it was barely going to be far range – Kaigen had just mentally had his mind ready for battle – With that his mouth opened within reason of tone he spoke his name out loud “Anarchy” …
oh you thought maybe he was going to give out his own name? Kaigen pushed his weight a little bit downward in a motion of preparing himself for a full forward sprint in which to throw a few punches. But he didn’t eun or make a movement besides ensure weight on the ground with his bare feet. He mentally debated on a normal fighting style or actually using his bloodline to take control of the situation and give him something to test on . He didn’t want to stab him or anything, but it was something he was kind of good at and needed to get used to as being a ninja who need to use everything he or she has. Or he could actually use his normal body, but he’d never get used to actually his bloodline, Eyes closed, he made his choose and charged forward, once getting within six meters within distance he spoke out “You’ll find out soon enough”
-Closing the gap-
Meaning he got within range and then balled his fist tightly before throwing four basic punches at his opponent, he was trying to start it off – First was testing his defense if that was the type of style he chosen … his job was to find a way to exploit, break or bypass his defense – Judging by the name he would have to assume it’s a possible fighting style for his family. No matter, time to explain the four punches huh? First was a hook to the stomach, intentions for that was the first strike which he didn’t expect to actually make it – He expected it to get blocked or repelled – Either way if he could and the guy was in range quickly the other three would follow because instantly after that swing of an attack he would reel his arm back in – Then throw that same arm back forward in a straight forward quick jab to the chin and quickly bringing it back, his feet sole on the ground as he didn’t plan any kicks or anything of the such yet –
That arm he was using was particularly the left arm, after those two punches with his left he threw the right for a jab to the chest but instead of actually reeling that one backwards like he usually do he had something else in mind. He wasn’t going to uppercut, or a kick or elbow or anything to fancy, but to a degree it was a bit flashy but it does get the job done. A twist, or a spin if you call it wham! A turning back fist aiming for the jaw – Now that four punch combo was nicely thrown, he tried to lessen his speed just to test how fast he was – He didn’t know if full speed was going to far for the guy in front of him – Unlike Tee bitch ass he wasn’t a speed blazer so he wanted to make this as fair as possible and try to make it fun. He is used to actually starting fights off, people these days call themselves ninja but can’t even fight.

Souji was quite miffed at the audacity of the person to start the fight without stating their real name and their fighting style. Now, he was no fool in the least, and the fact that this random guy had tried to fool him with such an odd moniker such as Anarchy, which implied that he either believed in a lawless state or was lawless himself. In which case, the young genin could only assume that this man was a missing nin, which put him very much on guard. His muscles rippled and tightened underneath his flesh and his eyes glowed with a light not unlike his devil form's. Though, he did not transform, for it would be unfit for him to go back on his word as a Martial Artist and just go devil form because he was a bit livid. He also didn't want to use any jutsu, since he wanted to prove his taijutsu capabilities. He wouldn't do that by shocking his opponent into submission.
He watched as his opponent came at him, closing the gap between them, making note of how his body moved as it ran. He watched every muscular twitch, every bend of the arm, every little glance and subtle motion of the body of his opponent. As 'Anarchy' approached him, his widened his stance a little bit, shifting his foot back quickly into a more firm stance, his feet parallel to each-other, yet his body situated in a way that his chest was a hard target to hit and his guard covered a bit more of his body upper-body, yet his lower-body had to suffer for it. It put heavy pressure on his knees, though the stance would aid in protecting his injured ribs.
As the initial jabs were thrown at him, he kind of frowned a bit. He easily glided the hand away from him, using his forward (left) hand to block the attack away gently, knowing that he wasn't going to have a chance to attack after the initial jab. The hook, however, was another story. Instead of trying to block it, he moved into his opponent's guard right at the climax of the punch, taking the fore-arm of his opponent against his ribs. It didn't hurt, per se, but it did make him wary of his ribs. Souji did a quick step back, shifting his stance again to a back stance, his feet situated perpendicular to each-other this time and his stance situated lower, though not too low. The back-fist was a bit of a surprise, but not too much of a surprise. This is where he was going to make his counter attack. He intercepted the arm at the elbow with a block, this time putting power into it to knock the arm back towards his opponent. He moved outside of the guard of his opponent in that instant of defense, his stance locking down as he defended then counterattacked in that same instance. He attacked the arm itself rather than attack his opponent's body or head, his right arm cocking back to be level with his hip and shooting upward like a rapier, his fingers straight and situated so that they formed a 'spear head' type of attack, the aim of the attack being to attack the nerve cluster in the tricep and deltoid in his right arm in order to 'shut down' the arm. Or at least attempt to. His other arm was not staying still either, his attacking arm joining in a conjoined attack. His left arm thrust forward the instant that he finished the quick succession of strikes to his opponent's arm, he'd throw a sharp, drilling straight fist (reminiscent of a Karate punch), to his opponent's chest in counter-attack. The moment he'd pull back his left arm, he'd follow up with a single front kick, his leg lifting, extending outwards, returning to it's original position, then being placed on the ground in a single, flowing 'snapping' motion. This entire time he'd be ready for a counter attack or if his opponent decided to grab him, ready to swing back around for a roundhouse kick if they blocked his kick, ready to swing his right arm down for a chop to the nerve cluster at the conjoining muscle between the shoulder and the neck on his opponent's right side, and ready to do a counter-throw against his opponent in the form of a Reverse arm-breaker (which consisted of him going back-to back against the opponent and hyper-extending the shoulder joint while simultaneously throwing him on the ground) in the event he needed to counter-attack again.
Those anatomy books were treating him well. Reading wasn't such a bad thing after all!
