Within the short time Kuro had been alive, he had done much. Ranging from helping a little girl find her parents, to slaughtering hundreds and helping destroy kiri. His moral compass said neither north or south, but instead, it said "Fuck you." In all actuality, he was far from perfect. He was a mass murderer, then he was a saint. He was the embodiment of yinyang. It was confusing most of the time, being both good and evil. Then there were moments that he realized what he truly was. He was human. Others see him as a saint or a demon, but in actuality, he tried to be good these days, he just made mistakes. He was human, he did that. Each decision he made had unintended consequences. Admittedly, the darkest things he did, he did even knowing how cruel they were.
One might ask why he was thinking so deeply about this, but that was simple. He was a constant thinker, making sure each and every moment was understood, if not planned. He lived in the moment, but he could tell you what would happen before it happened. It was how he fought, and how he lived. Why should he limit his mind to make others more comfortable? He was a fucking genius, he thought as much and as fast as he did because he wanted to. If he wanted to slow down, he would, but he didnt, so he wouldnt. It was HIS mind, HIS power, he would use it how HE wanted. He was stubborn. Calming those thoughts was simple, and he did so. Right now, he was trying to activate his dormant senju bloodline, which would probably be the last bloodline he got for now. Why? Because he didnt see any worth obtaining, other than Valerie's. He may try to make a deal for it later. He liked Valerie, so killing him was out of the question.
As Kuro meditated, he found himself wondering just what the senju bloodline required. With his previous bloodlines, simply thinking about that had activated them, but with Uchiha and Senju bloodline, it was more. He unlocked the Uchiha bloodline by misery, as the eyes dealt with misery more than anything, but senju... Senju dealt with nature and a connection to it. Which was why he was meditating. With all that in mind, he had to wonder, what WAS nature? It was more than just trees and grass. There were animals too. It was a strange concept, one which was unfamiliar to him. As he thought about the past, it hit him. Connection.
Before, when he unlocked his uchiha bloodline, he had felt an utter misery at the fact that he had let his family die, something he did not enjoy in the least. To describe that feeling was unbelievable. How much he felt that misery after it was maddening. No wonder Uchiha were stubborn, the HAD to be to endure that kind of feeling. It was also no wonder so many uchiha were fucking emo. He shudder at the idea that he could have been emo once. It was a... nightmare. The feeling itself was more like... like a nightmarish hellscape that threatened to swallow his entire life up before his eyes. Fortunately, Kuro was notoriously stubborn. So much so, that he made the famous earth stubbornness look like water. So he preserved. He endured, and conquered. It was hard, but he wasnt known for doing things the easy way. Except maybe stealing bloodlines, but thats different.
His Shikotsumyaku had been similar, but it was more aligned with his stubbornness. That all enduring power that fueled him in more than one occasion. He had argued with his parents for hours before that. It wasnt rage that unlocked it, but that feeling that no matter how much they tried to coerce him, he knew he would not relent. It was an interesting thing, how easily he changed, yet how stubborn he was. It was most likely because he viewed his life as HIS. No one but him had the right to change him. They could try as much as they wanted, but he would change when he felt it was needed, like when Misaki had seen the room. THAT was more than enough to make him decide he needed a change and fast.
The entire world was connected, Nature itself was connected to everything. Everything in nature was connected to each other in incredible was. The plants fed off of soil, the animals fed off plants, and the decomposers, which fill the soil, fed off the dead animals. It was much more complicated than that. With that realization he understood one thing. Being perfect is just not possible. Everyone has anger, misery, jealousy, all of them. Yet, for each negative emotion there is a positive. Serenity, happiness, kindness, each one had an alternative, which most regarded as negative. In truth? There were no negative emotions. Hatred was a lie. Searching his feelings, anything he thought he hated, all of them, he only felt anger. Anger, not hatred. There was never a such thing as hatred. It was an enthralling realization, one which made him feel... serenity, a kind of peace he hadnt felt before.
It was then he felt it. A chakra that was so different from his darkness, it stood out more than a blonde uchiha. A mixture of the stubbornness of earth, and the flexibility of water. It was hard to describe. In his mind, he linked it to an expanding mass, one which would fill out where it could be and move there, but not stubborn enough to break its container. It was like describing a tree really, which, by this point, he knew meant he had finally unlocked the senju bloodline. Now he just needed to train it. Fun. He briefly wondered how he managed to feel at peace when he was so eager to get this shit done, but put that behind him. He wasnt one to rush things unless he knew it could be rushed safely. He stood from his spot on the tree. Welp, it was about time to start training. He flipped down from his spot on the tree and landed on his feet, as if falling from a few inches. He stretched, and decided this spot was perfect.

It was no easy task, calling upon a feeling one had not previously experienced. Actually, it was rather easy compared to dissecting something while leaving the skin intact. Yeah, he had done some strange stuff in that lab of his. Now, he may be aiming for redemption, but he was still a scientist, one with a bit of an ego. Who could match him in scientific studies? So far? Not a single damn person. He was, thank god, one of a kind. Now, with that kind of ego, one may ask just what he was doing making himself look like a toddler frozen in a crab walk. Well, to put it simply, he was pushing his chakra outward, trying to separate the newly discovered mokuton chakra from his base darkness. It was an incredibly difficult task, one which would have many crying for days at their abysmal failure. Of course considering Kuro's legendary stubbornness, it would be years before anything close to that happened. That, and it would be weeks before he felt chakra exhaustion in the smallest amount. When you outrank bijuu with sheer chakra, you dont run out of steam easily. In fact, he had probably been at it for an hour now, which was the limit of most jounin. Hell, even when he was just a jounin, he was fighting the sanbi, killing the mizukage, and helping to wipe out Kirigakure. Admittedly, the others there did most of the structural work, he just murdered half the population on the ground before fleeing. He may be able to survived the sinking of the island, but he didnt want to test it at the time. He was crazy, not stupid.
His chakra was having some interesting effects on the ground he was near. The plants had turned almost pitch black in color, and were slowly growing, but he needed to remove the darkness effect entirely. How would he do this? His entire chakra network was darkness itself, so how would he remove the darkness? Did he need to? Really, he could have just poured his chakra into the plants instead of letting out a drop at a time. Keep in mind a drop of Kuro's chakra was enough to refuel most jounin easily. With that in mind, is it any wonder that he was effecting an entire field? Even the trees were black by now. It got him thinking really. When he was with Misaki, and first unlocked Excussum, he wanted power beyond all else, an incredibly flexible yet durable power, which was close in description to Mokuton if he thought about it. Was it something different then? Darkness relied on his power, no real feeling was required. So, like all things he encountered, he decided to think about it. To unlock darkness, he craved power, to unlock the mokuton bloodline, he realized it was serenity. Could it really be so simple as craving peace? Well, it sounded simple, but who could falsify their realities enough to confuse themselves into wishing for something they care nothing about? Well, Kuro was known to do the impossible as easily as breathing, so this wouldnt be too bad.
He breathed deeply, focusing on his emotions, and fading them all into the background. It was a technique he mastered as a personality analyst. One had to understand their emotions to analyze them, and one had to focus on their emotions to understand them. What made one angry? Happy? What caused that river of sadness that came with the death of a friend? That ray of sunshine when one got their friend's approval? He learned all of those things, and he became a master of manipulating people. He had incredible skill, and incredible power, all he needed was a direction. He focused on that feeling of peace, when he was comfortable and with his friends. When he no longer needed that incredible power, and the price that had come with it, the deep ocean of misery that threatened to swallow most up, was no longer there. It was an incredible feeling, one he would remember for years. He had never had that peace of mind before, but now? Now he craved it, just as much as he craved power, from when he first unlocked Excussum. That awe inspiring wave of power that he felt when that happened came to mind, but there was no new feeling. He opened his eyes, and was shocked. Rightly so, as the entire field was filled with trees and tall grass, each plant colored black. It was an amazing feeling, that accomplishment which had shown itself, with his other emotions faded at the moment. A grin grew on his face, and acting as the child he never got to be, he jumped and went "whoop!", happy that he had finally done it. He was patient, sure, but he had wasted an hour of time for that? He wasnt immortal... yet. That was for the future. Knowing him, it wouldnt be anything too hard, considering he broke many laws of reality. Seriously though, some of the shit he did just shouldnt happen. It did though. Why? Who knows? Look at his nickname, Psychosis. Just thinking about some of the strange shit he did would cause a headache to anyone versed decently in the scientific arts.
Kuro grinned, knowing he had it. "Lets see..." He left his eyes open, and placed his palms on the ground, trying to grow a tree, black or not. He was rather surprised and disappointed when nothing happened. He increased chakra, but nothing happened. Something was wrong, he felt that serenity now. The only thing that was different was... His eyes widened, and he calmed all his emotions. He placed his hands back on the tree, and poured his chakra into it. That... was probably not the best idea. The tree immediately grew to a monstorous height, and was at least ten feet thick. Ignoring the impossibilities of the energy to mass transference, Kuro grinned. It was such a simple concept he was amazed he hadnt immediately picked it up. Which was hilarious considering most wouldnt have caught on until the thirteenth time it happened. Serenity wasnt the key, it was control. The kind of control only a master, such as Kuro, would have. That explained why Mokuton was rare, even in the senju clan. The kind of control he had, that ultimate mastery of the human psyche, it was so rare that only one in a million had it. Well, he hadnt done the actual math, but it was close enough. He was human, damnit! He was allowed to exaggerate! Of course, considering most didnt think of him as human, that was a falsely true statement. For now, Kuro just grinned. The secret to mokuton was so simple, and anyone could do it, if they focused enough. The true difficulty lied in making it work on the fly. Anyone with Mokuton could focus and make a few plants, but few could use it fast enough to be a front line weapon. Wood grew slowly, like how people changed slowly. It took the ability to change on the fly to make Mokuton a weapon that worked as fast as the user. It was an art of itself, one he had newfound appreciation for.
A new feeling welled up inside him. Something he didnt realize until just now. A feeling of being complete, like when one had just had a limb regenerated. Before, he was missing something, now though, now he felt more complete than he ever had. He quickly deduced what caused it. The eyes of the uchiha clan were shaped by the misery of the user, while the mokuton of the senju clan was shaped by the peaceful control of the user. With one, but not both, one would go mad. The misery would reduce a normal human into a stain unworthy of even the cruelest tortures. The control would make one feel like a god, eventually gaining a power hungry outlook, constantly scouting power further and further. Ironic, he acted more like that when he first got the eyes of misery. Now that he attained both, he felt something he hadnt felt since he was a child. He felt alive. Not just the feeling of surviving, but of living for something, a goal, a purpose. He wasnt sure just what it was, but he knew he had a goal now. That, or the tree he just touched produced an effect that made him high as hell and delusional too.
Now he just had to decide what to do with the gigantic fucking tree that was now a landmark. It was as high as a bijuu, thicker than ten ackimichi combined. It was also as black as the darkest part of Kuro's heart. Considering it had no light shining on it at all, that meant it was pitch black, with leaves branching off everywhere. The veins of the trees were white though, and that unnerved him. Nothing about his chakra was white! He didnt need that byakugan in the center of his chest to see that much. It did help, but that was nothing new. His chakra was pitch black, and the tree became pitch black because of how potent his chakra was, but how did the veins become white? Did they possibly represent his desire to become redeemed? Was it a sign that it was not hopeless? That he could, eventually, change? No, actually, it was probably some chemical in the veins interacting with his chakra, changing its color to white instead of black. Hopefully. If it wasnt, then he had some deity watching his every move, just fucking with him. It wouldnt be the first time that happened. Kuro focused, and brought up his eternal mangekyou sharingan in both eyes, which he would leave on from now on, because he obviously wasnt intimidating enough. The chakra in the trees was odd, and he felt with his EMS, he might notice something that he wouldnt otherwise. What he didnt realize was that this incredible change in the tree had caused most of the surrounding trees to match the tree, making a giant fucking forest of black, enormous trees. Though, the tree he directly made was the largest, by far, in both height and width. He was rather proud of himself. Making a tree that looked... well, demonic. Maybe he could get Misaki to name this the Demon's Forest, once she got back. Wait... The acting kage was both him, and Yaju. Maybe he could do it himself? Nah, he'd just wait for Misaki, best not to go behind her back, even for something as small as this. Actually, considering how big the trees were, it was by no means small. That was a bad joke, and he knew it. Oh well, he decided. It was time for a change, and he had made a giant change. Hopefully that was more than just physical, but also a metaphorical representation of his soul, slowly changing from that cruel sadistic bastard he once was, to a kinder man. Then again, he still wasnt sure if that tree had made him delusional or not.
Now there was one other problem. Leaving the newly made forest. Oh... wait, teleportation. He felt like an idiot for that. He shrugged, stepped into the shadows and decided to visit Suna, see how Koro was doing. With those plans in mind, the mad man who made many mokuton monuments teleported as close to Suna as he could get. Hopefully Koroshi would be up for a bit of fun, maybe hitting a bar or two. If not, he could always see if Yaju or one of his friends wanted to go. Oh... right. He didnt have many friends. That realization was kind of a buzzkill. Oh well, at least the friends he did have were actually worth it, rather than those "holier than thou" bastards who were often his targets of horrific experiments. He hated those bastards, always prancing about like they owned the place. At least now they knew better than to cross him. Crucifying a kage will do that. Punching the Sanbi in the face helped though.
