Session 2 of Bjorn's training
Sun Nov 03, 2013 2:39 pm
His arms were practically on fire as he continued to do push ups.
"One hundred and three... One hundred and four... One hundred and five.." He slowly growled as he pushed himself up, and then lowered himself back down. With every push, he could feel his arms ache. Not only was he doing two hundred push-ups in a row, but he was also doing it with added weight. There was a pile of rocks upon his back, almost doubling the weight he was pushing.
"One hundred and thirty-five... One hundred and thirty-six... One hundred and thirty-seven.." He kept on. At around one hundred and eighty-two, Bjorn could almost feel the muscle in his arms tearing. He pushed on. Finally, at two hundred push-ups, of 250 pounds (his body weight plus the rocks) he collapsed on the ground.
Bjorn lay there for a moment, eyes closed. 'Im getting stronger. But there are countless out there who are stronger than me.'
He pulled himself to his feet.
Immediately, he took off. He began sprinting as fast as he could, then, when he was getting out of breath, jumped into a tree.
He practiced his balance skills by walking from tree branch to tree branch without using his arms. He would go faster over time, but the moment he wobbled, he slowed down.
After a while of that, he leaped down, and begun working out his legs.
He begun to kick a tree, twisting his whole body, and hitting it with the top of his foot, rather than with the ball of the toes. A side-kick is not done by bringing the foot straight up, but in an arc instead, and twisting the body to deliver more force. He was not sure if the front kick could deal more damage, but the side kick could be kept up longer, because it did not hurt as much as the front kick.
He did one hundred kicks with each foot, and in the end, the bark was torn from the tree, and his feet were very sore.
Still though, his training was not done.
Now, he walked up to a tree branch, and after pulling himself onto it, hung by it from his knees.
Slowly, he brought himself up, arms folded behind his head, as far as he could go. These were some sit ups. After just one, he could feel the strain. He had resolved to do many more though, perhaps one hundred.
"Seventy eight... Seventy nine.." His stomach and abdominal muscles burned. "Eighty... Eighty one..." He clenched his teeth, and closed his eyes. "Eighty two... Eighty three... Eighty four... Eighty five..."
After he had finished all one hundred, he dropped to the ground, landing on his feet.
He walked back into the actual training grounds.
He had almost deprived himself of sleep from training so much. But he could not stop now. The Genin test was a few days away. He couldn't fail now. Not again.
He went back to practicing throwing knifes.
This time, he changed his training routine. He picked a stop, far away from the target, and begun throwing knives. All the ones he threw hit the target, but none of them hit the center.
'I need to be completely precise. If I can barley hit a stationary target at this distance, how can I hope to hit a moving one at even half this?'
So he threw the knives over, and over again. Each time he got closer and closer. More and more accurate.
Finally, he got to the point where nine out of the ten knives that he threw each time hit the dead center of the target.
'Finally, I might stand a chance if someone actually tried to kill me' he thought to himself.
Of course, if the person was trying to kill him was a ninja, then he had no chance at all. However, they could wait. One day, he would be powerful, very powerful. Until that day though, he would avoid fights. Until the day he knows that he is strong enough.
Even he was waking home, Bjorn was training. Although it was physical training, it was training none the less.
As he walked, he tried to take in everything he could. Every little bit of information. He noticed the kid eating ice cream out of the corner of his eye, while at the same time, watched the ninja with the sword on his back walk by. He noticed the shopkeeper taking a customers money, and at the same time noticed someone stumble behind him. He tried to take in all the information that he could at once, while also trying to remain as alert and as ready as possible.
Finally, he made it back home. He was exhausted, and dragged himself into bed. It was late in the night, and completely dark outside, and he fell asleep almost instantly.
