“MATSUDA, YOU IDIOT!” Welp, there was Envy again, yelling in his head. Envy was like a perpetual alarm clock, constantly waking him up and reminding him of tasks when he needed to perform them. Although it was extremely annoying, it was helpful at times, especially when Matsuda forgot about a task, which he often did. Nowadays, he was so busy with genin affairs that he often forgot to do simple things, like set his alarm clock. So, he just relied on Envy to wake him up, which often pissed off the alternate personality. He didn’t like to be used as such, but did anyway, for Matsuda’s sake. After all, the quality of his own life depended upon Matsuda’s as well. If Matsuda died, so would he. This would not be good, as death was not something he desired. He needed the power to deliver death, the power that others currently possessed. He would… he would take it from them, if he had to. He needed that to satisfy his purpose: to take from others to add to himself. It didn’t matter how he did it, as long as he had it from other people. After all, didn’t he deserve it the most? He went over to the coffee table to pick up a mission folder. Now, this one was particularly interesting.
Apparently, the Amekage Worr Terumi needed a pickup from someone else. He needed to go to the pickup location, and bring the package back through the swamp and to the Amekage’s office. He hoped that the package wasn’t too fragile, as he usually made brisk progress through the swamp. Well, better get going; time spent here was time wasted. He finished up the report, packed his necessaries, and headed out into the rain. The rain was a little heavier today, so he braced himself accordingly. Yup, it was heavy rain. Anyone stuck inside those grates in the sewers would probably only have a few minutes to live; as they would be drowned. He zoomed to the pickup point, where he found a package with straps lying on the ground. It had a note that instructed him to deliver it to the Amekage’s office as quickly as possible. He strapped it securely to his back, and headed back. As soon as he entered the dark swampy area: two wild alligators appeared! Go, Matsuda, you idiot! Alligators used bite! Matsuda avoided the attack! Matsuda used cut! Wild alligator fainted! Wild alligator used bite! It missed! Matsuda used whirlwind!
And just like that, it was over. Well, that wasn’t too long. He headed through the jungle, avoiding the corpses of the dead alligators that he had just destroyed. They hadn’t been too powerful, they had merely surprised him. That was no good, he needed a technique he could use to sense things. “Since when did missions get so complicated? This was supposed to be simple, no frickin’ alligators. Next thing you know, I’ll be fighting Bayou gharials. That’s no fun, now is it.”
He went to the tallest skyscraper, and went up and dropped the package off at the Amekage’s office, where it would be for the kage to pick it up. He then headed home, whistling in the rain. Hopefully, the money and whatnot would come pouring in, he needed it. He got back and fell asleep.
