An age of ice
Thu Dec 19, 2013 5:37 pm
Both Shinji and Daemon had successfully arrived at the village gates of Yukigakure without a hitch. Now, all that remained was get entrance into this village, which shouldn't be too hard. Thus, upon approaching the gates, Shinji would call out to the guards who would hopefully not be complete dolts, "We are travelers from Tengakure looking to spend some time in Yukigakure." Shinji would not include any titles in his introduction as he did not wish to be affored any fanfare of any sort. It was such a petty thing. In the back of his mind Shinji half hoped he would be recognized as the Tenkage. Now, that would be interesting. Perhaps the guards would send for a higher authority. Only time would truly tell what was about to unfold at the gates of the village hidden in the snow.

Daemon followed shortly behind Shinji as they neared the village gates and awaited to see how they would be accepted here in, again, what he considered his villages home. Daemon would let Shinji take the lead as he spoke and wondered why he did not say anything about him being the Tenkage but said nothing about his title or Daemons own title. He simply waited for the gaurds to come forward.

Just as Rakka had finished her… snooping… in the office, she decided to go for a walk through her kingdo- I mean Village. She stepped outside from the Kage offices quickly, noticing two travellers attempting to gain entry. She would quickly approach them, holding her hand up in a sign to stop for a moment. She would listen to the older man’s explanation of why they who they were, spotting their tengakure headbands as they spoke.
”Tengakure ninja?” She asked, mostly to herself. That wasn’t a village on their ally list… ”And what brings you this far north? She would question them. ”I didn’t think our cold winters were something that would attract tourists.”

The pair of Tengakure shinobi did not have to wait long and when the woman spoke Shinji had to force himself to not mention a quip about coming here for the women. Rather, Shinji, eloquent as always, spoke up in a smooth commanding voice, "Oh, a bit of this and a bit of that brought us here. As I mentioned earlier we are simply travelers looking for a place to stay and perhaps a chance to test the mettle of the shinobi of Yukigakure. My name is Shinji Uzumaki and this here," Shinji waved in Daemon's direction, "Is Daemon Yuki. Now, if I may be so bold, who are you?" Once again Shinji did not mention that he was the Tenkage. Its was nice not having to put a rank in front of his name. Sure, he could have and probably humbled the inquisitive Yukigakure shinobi, but what would be the point? Was there any reason for it really?

Deamon watched as the woman came up to them and began to speak. Shinji lead the conversation but Daemon eyes were else where on the woman thats right if one were to look they would see him staring at the girls big voluptuous eyes they were the same as his a smile ran across his face as he spoke up. "Thats right i am Daemon Yuki and who might you be clansmen?" he asked knowing what it was those eyes meant. He wondered if she was in charge here or if she was just a normal ninja.

Rakka would listen to the man’s explanation, not quite satisfied with the man’s answer. Especially the part about “Testing their shinobi’s mettle.” What were they doing, sizing them up? She noticed her apparent clansmen, the other boy, and nodded in his direction. He seemed to be the Uke of the two men, as he sort of just listened to the conversation between the two of them. She would turn her attention back to the Seme of the group.
”Well, Shinji, my name’s Rakka Yuki.” She would say. ”Que- I mean, acting Village Leader of Yukigakure in Demetri Kori’s absence” She would say, trying to sound impressive. ”I don’t mind hosting guests from Tengakure, but I’d prefer you not go picking fights with our ninja.” She would tell the man, hoping her point was clear.

The former Tenkage could not help, but raise an eyebrow at the woman who seemingly almost called herself a queen. All the same Shinji was willing to roll with the punches and roll he did as his dialog did not falter once, "It is a pleasure to meet you Rakka Yuki.....Do not take me for a troublemaker and do not worry about me picking fights with your shinobi. I simply enjoy a friendly duel or two. Call it an odd quirk if you will, but I enjoy observing the battle styles of different villages. Now, naturally the best way to do this is to engage in a battle with said shinobi. Seeing as you are the acting leader I would be honored to spar with you, if you are willing that is." Shinji did not mention that he also had a thing for girls with blue hair, but that would have been rude. Hopefully the acting village leader took this well. Shinji was on the watch for anything odd and was ready to react if need be. He hoped that this would be a lesson for Daemon on what not to do. Lessons had parts and this was part one.

Deamon went silent as Rakka said not a word to him but only nodded and observed as Shinji talked to the woman, the way he talked seemed a little odd they had just met the acting leader after all and Shinji already wanted to fight her. Absent mindly he raised his hand and using his Beggining Ice mastery formed a beautiful Rose as he did so and presented it to the girl. The ice would not melt unless met with high powered Fire Chakra as the snow would keep it nice and cold. "Tis for the lady." He said Showing Shinji how wooing a girl should go, one needed Finesse not strength in these manners of business.
He hoped that Rakka would take the rose and if she did the boy would smile and blush a bit. "So are you really going to spar Shinji? He is quite strong i should know i fought him before." He said as he waited to see what the girl would do about fighting the man.

At Shinji’s… flatteringly worded challenge, a slight smile would cross Rakka’s face.
”Sure… On my mark, then.” She would say, backing up a few paces and putting just under fifteen meters between them. She wasn’t stupid, she could sense Shinji had quite an extensive reserve of chakra, and Daemon’s wasn’t too far off from his, either. Still, this would be a good test of, as Shinji put it, “Her mettle”. Shinji’s challenge was followed by Daemon creating a flower with a technique similar to her ice mastery, and handing it to her. She would take the flower, an eyebrow raised as she tried to figure out what the hell she was supposed to do with that thing to avoid being disrespectful. As she took it, the boy began to blush, and Rakka’s confusion of why she was being given a flower subsided. Well that made things awkward. She’d just have to “Lose it” in the fight.
Which was about to begin. She would throw up the rose, and as she finished this, a seal would be made, and in an instant, a circle of ice mirrors would form, with Shinji at the center. Rakka assumed Daemon would be smart enough to get out of the crossfire, if he wasn’t planning on participating in the fight. As soon as the seal was made, she would step back, entering mirror that was directly behind her. From there, she would begin to benefit from the speed boost the technique gave her. She would jump out of the mirror, heading for the one behind him and to his left (Second to highest row of mirrors) before forming a wall of ice separating them in the air between them, which would be launched downwards at him, hopefully breaking eye contact with her. If this motion was successful, eye contact with Rakka would have been broken by the wall, and Shinji hopefully would have lost track of her in while dodging the wall, or starting it down as it crashed into his head.

Once Shinji heard 'sure' he would blink once. His eyes would open just as Rakka finished speaking. Were one paying attention then said person would notice a rather odd change in Shinji's eyes. In his right eye was a blood red three tome sharingan and in his left was the ghostly white of the Byakugan. Naturally the Tenkage recalled that he had weapons at his finger tips if need be: sealed in his right glove was Makaze and in his left a kunai, both of which could be called upon with naught, but a flux of chakra. Everything seemed to move in slow motion to Shinji's eyes. With the power of the Byakugan he could almost see 360 degrees, so he was by no means worried about any surprises that Rakka may try. Hell, Shinji felt ready for most anything.
Naturally Shinji's eyes did not leave Rakka as she threw the rose that Daemon had thoughtfully given her. What happened next was no surprise to Shinji, he had seen this technique before as Daemon had used on him in one of their spars. In essence, the whole thing was rather blasé and the Uzumaki wanted to see something more interesting. As a result of this the Tenkage decided to get rid of this rather meddlesome technique and force Rakka into another form of battle, because Shinji did enjoy a bit of variety. To remedy his boredom Shinji took action as the mirrors themselves formed. Naturally, it took him some time to work out trajectories, but by the time Rakka had stepped into the mirror Shinji acted with the decisiveness of a practiced dueler.
Thus, as Rakka repositioned herself in the mirrors and before she tried to launch an attack on Shinji, 21 chakra chains exploded out of Shinji each chain on track to hit a single, yet separate, mirror straight through the center. These chains moved at their maximum speed and, assuming all went as planned, would shatter each and every one of the mirrors that had been created. This left few options for Rakka and Shinji was rather interested to see how the Yuki reacted to this. If the mirrors were successfully destroyed then the chains that had destroyed them would dissolve into nothingness hopefully leaving Shinji and Rakka to go head to head in a more physical battle, assuming the blue haired girl dodged the chains.
