TNA: The Grand Finale

Held in a small arena built specifically for this. Stone floor, circular 50 meter diameter arena, 10 foot high walls surrounding with a viewing area above. No rooftop to save on expenses. After the Tenkage had announced the rules and sat, the bell that indicated the match to begin chimed.

[Fight will start when all entrants have posted, if a post has not been submitted within 48 hours regardless of entry it will count as a forfeit on their part.]

Here she was once again. Youta entered the arena, which she was starting to get a nostalgic feeling about, after having fought here quite a few times already. Today the crowd seemed larger and more into it, no doubt they were excited to see an ANBU fight. Youta only hoped that did not doom her chances of promotion.

Walking out of the shadow, the Genin wore same equipments she had in her previous fights, except for a set of tech-armor hidden under some light clothing. Shigure rested by her left side and the other blade on her back. Her white hair was flying in the thunder of the crowd.
Time to see how well the others prepared...

Haru sighed as he pulled on his armor, slipping the duster into place over the strong weave that made up his clothing, pulling on his headband around his neck, before putting on his mask.

He entered the arena stands, seeing that only Youta had arrived. He only now realized how conflicting this fight would be. He had trained most of the genin he was facing, two of them were actually on his genin team. He shrugged. It didn’t matter if they won or lost, after all, merely how well they preformed. After watching for a moment, he dropped down from the stands, his duster billowing in the wind as he fell the short distance to the ground. He figured the match would start soon enough.

Altar walked slowly into the arena, hands in pockets, feeling strangely between haphazard and unsure. His mind was not on the fight, in fact, pretty far from it. However, he still felt it was at least required of him to attend. Who knows, perhaps it would come to be that this would prove useful in the long run. However, he still didn't like the coliseum that the arena had been built as, and this time, as he walked into the space, it seemed to hang heavy with an air of finality. He couldn't quite place it, but it made him uneasy all the same. It was indirect. He couldn't tell if it was a dread, as though this was to be his death, or if this strange tournament was finally over. He honestly hoped for the latter. He was thoroughly upset with his performance in this whole ordeal, and just wished for it to be over and forgotten. He knew these thoughts were selfish, but they clouded his mind nonetheless.

His whole body tensed when he saw two figures already in the arena. One he recognized as Youta. He had no had much interaction with her, but she seemed quite capable of holding her own. The next person he saw was a cloaked, masked figure. His mind immediately raced to put a name to the covered face, to no avail. No matter, perhaps the fighting style, or the voice would reveal who it was. From what he understood, the fight was to be a handicapped match. Youta was on his team, so to speak, as would be two others. The thought scared him. One on one fights, he could manage. A team fight shook him. He would have to make sure to do his best to help his team and not drag them down, as well as try when he could to keep them safe. Not that they couldn't manage it on their own, but because he always had a bad habit of blaming himself.

Upon entering, Altar would give a small nod to Youta, then find a place to sit close to the wall. From here, he would observe the arena, trying to formulate a strategy. He was at an extreme disadvantage, having only the sword strapped to his back in weaponry. He would need every advantage he could get.

Arriving later to the party Aqua (in full armor and weaponry) entered the arena. He was prepared for this fight. He saw the other two people that he fought before; he assumed, like himself, that they both trained for this.

This was important to Aqua and he had to win. He only had one win under his belt so he needed to put on a miraculous display of power. He faced his opponent but kept his body close to the door. With his weapons Doomhammer and Thunderfury in his hands he was ready to fight.

One by one the others appeared, though it only seemed there were 3 of the Genins, one must have missed it for some reason. She would look at Aqua, who she had thought in her last match, and Altar, who she did not even know was participating in this event. Their opponent, as promised was an ANBU mask wearing man, it seemed. Strangely enough, his chakra, while quite potent, seemed familiar to the girl, though not enough for her to put a face under that mask yet. Maybe his fighting style will give him away, if it's actually somebody she knows.

Now that everyone who was going to make it was here, the bell rang and the match started. Without much delay Youta began to approach her opponent in a light run, holding both hands on Shigure's hilt and sheath, prepared to unleash an attack if given a chance.

Before the bell rang, Haru took stock of the three genin before him. After surveying briefly the equipment that each genin carried, (Taking special interest in the two badass weapons that looked a little too heavy for Aqua to be carrying,) he took note that one of the combatants had not shown up. Well, Youta was here, and so was Altar… The kid he didn’t recognize was probably Aqua, which meant the missing link was… Goon? He wondered vaguely what sort of punishment Takeo had in store for him. Probably a delimbing. After he sized up their equipment, he turned to his chakra sensory. Youta skimmed just below the radar, Haru had to focus for a brief moment to detect her chakra. Strong for a genin. Slightly more powerful then hers was Altar. They set a pretty smooth average, but Aqua was a bit of an outlier. His chakra was, surprisingly, almost as strong as his own.

Youta was the first to advance. Jogging lightly towards him, she had her blade prepared to strike at him. He contemplated for a moment doing something really flashy, but that was hardly any way to start this fight. Since the kids were handicapped by having one of their members not even show up, Haru figured he should start them off easily. Since she made no attempt to attack, and was moving relatively slowly, Haru allowed her to continue to advance, waiting to see if the other two would follow suit, or attempt a to use different sort of strategy.

Altar gave a small smile as Aqua arrived. Well, that would give them another asset, an a stronger chance at victory in this fight. However, the smile disappeared when Altar heard the bell and Goon was nowhere in sight. That would give them a slight handicap, as the were to fight with three instead of four. It would've been nice to have an extra body, but it seems that they would be rolling with the punches here. Altar rose to his feet slowly, still trying to make some kind of strategy, or at least a overall plan for obtaining victory.

Without much delay, Youta was the first to move. Not much surprise there, as she seemed to enjoy taking initiative. Altar's mind raced. He honestly wasn't sure how he would fight. He couldn't charge straight in, as he was obviously outclassed. He wasn't strong enough to get in hand to hand combat. He couldn't move fast enough to blitz. He had only one range attack, and it was pretty situational. So, that left only one option open to him in reality. Take what openings he could, create distractions, and don't get hit. If he could land a chidori, it could prove to be a major blow. However that meant that the ANBU's movement would need to be majorly restricted.

Altar decided to move out after Youta, following her idea and moving at a semi-slow pace towards the ANBU, however he would take a slightly different path and close in on him from the right, keeping a decent distance between him and Youta. The best idea seemed to be to box him in. It would be difficult to fight three people at once, from three separate angles, and potentially distances. Altar would keep his hands close and ready to move, in case he needed them to.

One combatant missing? Why wondered Aqua as the fight was about to begin. It didn't matter to him once the fight started.

The other two began to advance. The ninja's on his team were all on side of the Arena so to say and his opponent was on the direct opposite side. The other two approached the Anbu, the moment they began their approach Aqua would weave the series of hand signs at his top speed, Bird → Rat → Ox → Monkey → Rat → Snake, and after a moments delay he did a final hand seal, clone. Aqua was almost the full distance away from the Anbu at this time if he didn't move, save a meter or two from the wall. If the Anbu could see him weave those hand-signs clearly from that distance, almost 50 meters, he must be aided by some sort of jutsu or dojutsu to see that far.

If not stopped Rain would begin to fall down hard in the arena. Aqua's chakra would be filled with this rain, proving useful to sense not only his opponent but his teammates as well. Also if not stopped two shadow clones would appear beside him a meter apart, the result of the using the clone hand-sign at the end.

[Each Aqua Clone would have 84 AP, Aqua would have 85 AP, if of course these events do go through]

The light run transformed into a full sprint as the girl built up speed. She could feel Altar approaching their target as well and Aqua staying behind and molding big amounts of chakra. Maybe there was a better way to open up this fight, but she really just needed to get in there and attack him in order to find out his responses and what he is capable of. Of course that meant she'd have to risk it, but that was how fights happened.

As she got close enough Youta unsheathed the blade, swinging it in a single motion and chaining into multiple strikes if allowed, like a master calligrapher, at the same time trying to replicate Yozora's movement. Humming slighting through the air, were this move to succeed, Shigure would slash by his waist, then at his shoulder and torso.

[Using Quickdraw for the first slash 222/242 AP]
