Travels can burn in hell [Fast Travel]
Thu Jan 15, 2015 9:22 pm
Here he was again, walking through the desert, the hot sand slowly seeping into his sandals. It irritated him slightly, but he forced himself to ignore the feeling. His only goal was to make it out of the Wind Country, and then figure out where he was to go next. Perhaps it would be in his best interest to visit Yukigakure. Yes...he could only assume those he traveled with made it home safely, he would need to visit them as soon as possible. He needed to show them he was alive and well, before they started to predict the worst. As Mugen continued to walk forward, the wind blew, ruffling the snow white hair on his head. This time, the sand did kick up and hit his face, luckily. It would have made him even more aggravated than he already was.
Eventually, as he kept walking, he came to notice some greenery up ahead. It was rather far, but close enough for it to be visible. For a moment the boy was surprised at how quickly he was nearing the borders, but remembered his encounter earlier and dismissed the slight shock. However, he could not keep down the frown that threatened to grace his features upon recalling the memory. His friend, Matsuri...he would have enjoyed spending at least a few more seconds with her. At least a few more minutes. At least a few more hours. At least a few more days...It was the only social activity he managed to get in quite a while, his talking with her. But, all good things must come to an end, and Mugen happened to realize this long ago.
The boy paused, his walking coming to a complete stop, and his muscles relaxing for several seconds. He took a deep breath before slightly crouching down, and fixing his gaze onto what was in front of him. Then, he wasted no time in rushing forward, moving at his top speed. He'd reach the Snow Country in record time and arrive at Yukigakure...in record time. Even Mugen could notice that his speed had improved since he and the other Yuki shinobi left for their mission. His ability in all areas had increased, and he could only be proud of himself...somewhat. He knew there was still room to better himself, not only physically, but mentally. Especially mentally. He needed to think of strategies quickly, needed to keep calm whenever things seemed dire, needed to not put himself down so much...and to ignore Kyokai whenever he was given to chance to annoy him.
The green was growing closer than it was before, and more visible. Far more visible. The temperature was dropping, the sand was slowly, but surely decreasing in quantity. He was close, he could feel it. Mere minutes passed before he managed to dash into an area with absolutely no sand. All of that was behind him, way back in the desert, and now his feet was finally touching grass. Green and lush grass. The air was filled with a bit more moisture, and was cooler. He no longer had to breath in the hot and dry desert air. All of the was behind him. Currently, Mugen only guessed he was located somewhere within the Stone Country. With the pace he was moving at, it wouldn't be long before he reached Iron, and then Grass, and then Waterfall...and then Snow. The place true to its name with the white, fluffy snow.
The little white "fluffs" of snow. The same "fluffs" he watched fall down to the surface of the earth with his sister, his beloved little sister. He couldn't wait to see her, and hug her, and tell her, her big brother was finally back. Tell her big brother wouldn't leave her alone for so long again. Never again. And maybe he would apologize for big brother forgetting about her multiple times, but would tell her he thought about her on his way home. Yes, then Emi would forgive big brother, and give big brother another hug, and -
We get it. You miss her. Now shut the hell up. I'm meditating and you are disturbing me.
Not even Kyokai's negativity managed to bring Mugen down from his spot within the clouds. He pushed himself to move faster, now eager to get home as soon as possible. When he reached Yukigakure, he'd probably get to see Lazuru as well. And he'd see Kiru, and maybe Kuro with all his sweets, and maybe even Kaien, or hell even Daiyuki. He never noticed how much he missed it all, and how excited he felt to know he would be able to return to everything he knew before the mission. The frown that was once on his face turned upside down, and a stupid grin was put into its place. Maybe he would be able to exchange candy with Kuro and goof off with Laz, who was seemingly a genius when it came to screwing around. He could learn more things from Kiru, and have another snowball fight with Kaien. He couldn't wait, he couldn't wait.
In his rush to travel to his destination, the boy almost tripped, but shrugged off the mistake and kept moving forward. He refused to stop, he refused to pause, he refused to look back. He would not look back. He wanted to see his friends, the family he had left, and enjoy the cold weather of Yukigakure once more. By now, he was most likely in the Grass Country, with his thoughts practically making him oblivious to his surroundings. Thankfully, he wasn't oblivious to the point where he could crash into something. No, his senses were still on high. Mugen took a second to truly focus, and kicked the other topics in his mind to the side. Close. He was close to the borders of Grass and Waterfall. That meant only two more countries to cross before...!
He tried to push himself farther than before, but not to the point where his muscles would give up on him. No, doing that would merely be idiotic. He took several deep breaths, trying to calm himself, for he couldn't become too energetic. Unfortunately, there was a thing, despite him wishing for the opposite. This was what the boy meant when it was stated he needed to improve himself mentally. Calm...calm, he needed to remain reserved and calm. Otherwise he would possibly mess something up, like he usually did. Oh well, that was probably one attribute no one could fix about trash. Suddenly, a blast of cold air hit the youth's face, making his stumble in his run. However, he managed to quickly right himself and stared straight forward with wide eyes.
He saw snow.
His grin grew wider.
This time, he slowed down until he managed to settle into a light jog. He was breathing a bit heavily, and his breath was evident in the freezing atmosphere. Mugen knew he was still rather far from Yukigakure, but he was much closer than before, much closer than when he first started. In fact, he hasn't gained much distance away from the borders that he happened to cross mere moments ago. But, he was approaching Yukigakure. He was approaching home.
