Go hard or go home! [IO; NK]
Sat Jan 24, 2015 5:19 pm
Having become Genin, Kaito had finally entered the official ranks of shinobi. Knowing that, he knew that there'd forever be dangers from here on out. Whether it'd be missions or having to defend the village from any major threats. In order to protect those close to him he'd have to get stronger. The three basic techniques in his possession weren't exactly going to save him, or his mother. He'd have to learn better techniques. Something more on the offensive. The question was what?
The boy kept that in mind as he entered the training grounds. Not to many children were present today. Maybe that's because the Sun had been setting. Kaito chose this time to practice for that reason alone, he wanted to be by himself. He made his way to the center of the training field. By the time night would fall the moonlight would illuminate the center, so seeing wouldn't be much of a problem. Plus, it also added to the dramtic effect. "Everything is set. It's time to begin."
Kaito set his satchel on the floor. Inside was a water bottle and some snacks for his breaks. He was wearing his kimono top and some karate bottom pants; it was the only thing he had. To begin the training Kaito decided to warm up. What better way to warm up than running a couple of laps around the grounds. You know, to get that heart pumping. He ran at a steady pace. There was no need to waste his stamina right away. He was going to need that for later. With three laps already completed he figured that was enough for now. "That was a good run! Haha. What shall be my first jutsu?

As with the other techniques that were recently learned, Kaito carried a sheet with the techniques he'd be learning today. Listed were numerous techniques. Each one would be difficult to learn. But the first one that'd be taken on would be the body flicker. This technique required a good amount of chakra control and physical speed input. It allowed one to travel at faster than base speeds. A technique like this would surely be handy when taking out shinobi or escaping from enemies. But where would Kaito start with this technique? How exactly would he begin learning the basics to using this? The boy pondered, standing there dead in the center of the grounds. "I guess I should begin storing up some of my chakra. Getting it to flow much better." Kaito held his fingers up, beginning to channel his chakra throughout his body. If you knew the boy by now you'd see that he liked doing this before performing any technique. It was something like a pre-game ritual. It'd help Kaito infuse his chakra into his muscles to produce much faster movement. 'Okay Kaito, let's do this!' The Uchiha breathed in and dashed out forward, running towards the tree in front if him. Although he was much faster than before, it still wasn't anything near the body flicker speed.
Upon reaching the tree, he jolted for another. Kaito made another attempt at reaching speeds that would pass the boundaries he once had. Still, he could not accomplish this. Kaito slid against the grass when he hit a hard stop. It was no use continuing with this. He was getting no where! "I can't seem to get it! What exactly do I need to do?" He knelt down, his legs trembling from the strain. Pushing his limt would result in unwanted injury. For now it was best to rest a bit. Look over notes and think of a better way to approach the technique. "What exactly must I do? I'm not even getting remotely close." Kaito reached for the paper that held the answers. "Okay, so according to this, I have to have better control. I believe I may be lacking that right now." He pouted; knowing very well that he indeed needed to control his chakra much better. Perhaps his emotions were troubling him and getting in the way. No, that didn't matter, he had to try again. Kaito was going to get this done even if it meant staying on the grounds till the morning. He took position once again. More determined to get it done, he shot out again. In a zig-zag motion he tagged each tree in his path before making a u-turn to head back. His overall speed was much better than before. Progress was being made! "I'm so close! I can feel it!"
Droplets of sweat were streaming down his face. All of this running was really affecting the boy. He began wondering how much more he'd be able to do. For a child so small and feeble, this was really something else. But the more he thought about that he thought about what his sister had to go through. So was there really a need for excuses like that? Not at all! If his sister was strong enough to go through this, there was no doubt that Kaito could do it himself! "I'll just try harder! I can do this! I don't care if I have to go through this one hundred times..." The boy's eyes slowly opened. That side that rarely came out was finally surfacing in a time he needed it most. At this moment that jubilant attitude was not needed! These upcoming attempts would give him his results; he believed it!! Kaito's chakra surged at this moment.

Kaito could feel his chakra flowing through his veins. Different than before, however, it felt like it was going to erupt from his body! What exaclty was this feeling? He didn't know but it was helping him at this moment. At launch, he dashed towards the same tree from before. His speed was greatly heightened. Unlike before, he didn't really seem to take many steps! Was this not an accomplishment? It certainly was but the technique wasn't exactly there yet. Something was missing. The technique was supposed to look much like an instant transportation. Meaning Kaito had to instantly disappear and end up at his desired destination. It wouldn't be a form of teleportation. Anyways, he was satisfied with his results for now. More attempts would yield better results however, so he'd have to keep going. "Here I go." With another go, he showed off another impressive run. He felt like he was moving way faster than before. This wasn't something he'd be able to accomplish with his base speed.
The next tree was touched in five seconds. This was without a doubt an improvement. Kaito wouldn't have been able to do this without using his chakra to better his movement. But constant use was beginning to affect his legs. There was a slight pain in his calves and thighs from using the technique consecutively. There was no way he'd quit right now though. There was still some time left. Kaito had enough in him to give it one more go! And that's exactly what he was going to do right here and now! It was go hard, or go home! Before taking off again he rubbed his calves, staring at his next destination like it was his prey or something. That next tree would be reached in two seconds! That was his goal! If he wasn't able to do it then he wouldn't dare try to attempt again. "Three. Two. One. Go!" There he went; as he took off he felt himself move faster than ever! To a watching eye it would look as if he disappeared from sight. The next moment he was standing at the tree. His panting could be heard a mile away. "I did it..."
Kaito slid downwards against the tree. Sweating like a damn pig in this humid night. Yeah, the Sun already set and night had fallen upon Konoha. Guess he was going to be here all night because there was much more to do. A lot more things to take care of. "What's next?" The boy stood up and walked over to his satchel. It was time for a water break. He opened the top of the bottle and began sipping some water, making sure to preserve some for later. That's the only reason why he wasn't chugging it. With body flicker down, that only left a much harder technique. Fireball technique. "My first elemental technique is next...This will be much harder."

Check. Check. No, not a check. The fireball technique was next and was not yet tamed by the boy. There are sayings around the village that this technique is somewhat the right of passage for the Uchiha clan. How interesting; learning a ninjutsu technique to be recognized amongst the clanmates. Those Uchiha were something else. Kaito firmly held the sheet in his hand and read everything there was to know carefully. This wasn't something he could just rush into to hope that he could get somewhere in two or three tries. No. Performing a technique of this rank required patience. Besides, Kaito didn't have enough chakra to waste. He would get it done by the morning though. The boy was uttering the contents under his breath. It was like he was trying to memorize lyrics to a song or something. Words were being repeated and repeated. If that was the only way he was going to engrave the information into his head, that's what he was going to keep on doing. "So I have to work on chakra transformation first? That makes sense. Well, here goes nothing." The boy placed the sheet of paper on the grass and walked away from his belongings. He didn't want to end up burning his stuff so he faced the other way. Closing his eyes, he began working on stabilizing chakra flow. He considered that the most effective part of performing any technique. Any disruption in the flow of chakra would hinder performance. Every five seconds or so he took in deep breathes. It was honestly looking like some yoga session. Kaito's focus was at its peak. All of those natural sounds, the insects, the nearby creek, the wind....everything was blocked out.
Amazing how much time a boy of his age could put into just waiting. For others this would be extremely boring and unnecessary. Kaito, however, was nothing like the other kids. He was a special child who was already growing wiser as learned to be more like his father. His mother also taught him so values to hold as he grew older. To forget that would bring shame to his family. How many children would honestly give up their time and build soley for the purpose of giving out to others? That's just the type of child Kaito was. Special. And a special child would do great things! Even if it meant that he'd have to start out small. 'Alright, now that I have the flow of my chakra down packed, I need to convert it into fire.' Kaito began transforming the chakra being stored in his body into fire. His lungs would begin inflating as he breathed in heavily. This was it! Kaito's first attempt ever at using an elemental jutsu! 'Here goes nothing!' Kaito performed the required hand seals and opened his mouth. In his mind he envisioned himself being a young dragon breathing out its scorching flames. This was not the case in reality. A small ember was expelled from the boy's gaping mouth. It was nothing like the diagram on the sheet of paper. Poor Kaito. The small ember floated outwards for about three seconds before dying out. "I could have sworn that it was going to be a massive ball of fire....Hehe. Guess these type of techniques are harder to do."
The boy leaned forward and rested his hands on his knees. Looks like this was actually going to take a good while. It's okay, these kind of things happen. Happened with the prior techniques so why not happen now? Trial and error was an important key in learning new techniques. Kaito completely understood that. "I have to try harder this time." The boy jumped in place a few times, loosening up his hands with some shaking. When he felt ready he quickly formed the hand seals and breathed in. He expelled a small sphere of fire this time. Improvement in the technique already! It moved through the air about six feet out before dying out in the wind. Kaito watched with a smile as he breathed in and out. His chakra reserves were being taxed. It was getting to him finally. Maybe it was time to take a legit break. Eat some snacks and drink some more water. He made his way over to the log and dropped onto his bottom, grabbing his satchel. "I wonder what mommy packed for me." He opened the bento box that was lodged inside the small pouch of the satchel. Inside he found some white rice, chicken, three salmon rolls and shrimp tempura. Boy did his mother sure know how to treat him! "Yes! Thank you so much mommy! Haha!" That serious attitude could be set aside for now. It was time to eat.

Kaito couldn't decide what to eat first. They were all just too good. He used his chopsticks to tap each one, counting out loud while doing so. It was his way of choosing . Once he landed on the number ten whatever food his chopsticks were on would be devoured first. At ten the chopsticks settled on the rice. In a matter of seconds, every single grain in the small bowl was consumed by the boy! Didn't stop there! Kaito proceeded to eat all the other foods in the bento box. Everything that had been packed for him was gone! Nothing remained. Not even crumbs. Unbelievable how such a small boy like him could do this to a box filled with so much. "Ahhhhhhhh! Now that was good! Hehe. Thank you mommy!" He closed up the bento box and threw it inside his satchel, laying back to let digestion get to work. Staring into the night sky, Kaito began thinking about how his training. How he had been working so hard to get stronger and learn better things. Without a doubt, he knew that if he continued on this path he'd be able to make his mother happier. "Don't worry mommy. I'll make everything better when I get stronger." His squinting eyes slowly sealed shut. In seconds the boy was fast asleep.
A small fox had been pulled to his training site. It was the combined smell of all that food from earlier that attracted the creature. Kaito found himself laying on the grass, breathing in and out. The boy was still resting as the fox scavenged the area. It eventually found the boy laying there. Like every other curious animal, the creature approached the small boy and started sniffing him before curling up beside the boy. All the movement and sniffing had awaken the boy, however. He didn't jump though, he just opened his eyes. "Huh?" The boy noticed the small animal beside him. He raised himself, which in turn alarmed the fox and sent it scurrying off. "Good bye little fox!! Haha. What time is it? I feel like I've been resting for a long time. I have to get back to training!" He stood up and hurried over to the center. What was he on? Oh right, the Great Fireball technique.
Progress had definitely been made, but had he retained it? That was pretty long nap he took. Was he able to memorize the basics? Only one way to find out. Reaching the center of the grounds, he performed his hand seals right off the bat. His lungs inflated as he breathed in, molding the chakra within. When he felt like he was ready he expelled that converted chakra in the form of fire. Again, he was able to perform the jutsu, but would it be fully complete? The flames formed into a sphere about ten feet in diameter. It traveled outwards until he died out, like all the others. "Oh wow! I almost had it that time! That was a good go! Hehe." Forming the same hand seals, Kaito repeated the technique multiple times. Each try gave him a different result. But as hard as he was working and as much as tried, it wasn't complete. Something was missing. The size was down. The shape was also good. It was the distance! Prior attempts did not travel far enough. They'd always die on their path.
"I see. I have to do something different. The fireball I have to fire out now must be a scorching fireball. Something with vigor! Something with life! If I can create a gunpla, I can create a good fireball." Sweat trickled down the boy's face as he panted. This was getting very tiring. Not to mention that the sky wasn't so dark anymore. The Sun was rising. Dang! Kaito had to get this done. "I have to finish this before the Sun rises. I challenged myself and I expect myself to beat that challenge. If I'm ever going to get stronger I have to do this!" Kaito's confidence was at an all time high! He felt like he'd succeed this time! Nothing would keep him from failing now! "This will be my last go!!!" All or nothing! Would Kaito be able to accomplish this before sunrise!?

Confidence. Determination. Kaito was being fueled by this. All of those prior attempts were not meaningless after all. They served their purpose and because of that a flame had been lit within the boy. Both feet were set on the grass, planted firmly. They were beginning to dig into the moist soil from the dew. The hand seals were performed for the last time. Unlike earlier, he took his time on each individual seal. That was for the dramatic effect. At that moment his chest expanded outwards. Kaito was inhaling as much air as he could to add to this fireball he was going to create. When he felt like he couldn't pull in anymore air he stopped, "Fireball jutsu!!" Expelling everything held inside, the converted chakra and air within his very lungs exited in the form of raging fire. It took its form, a large sphere twenty feet in diameter. The boy continued to feed the fireball until his lungs deflated, only then would he let the ball of fire take its course!
It passed through the air, lighting up the area with its burning fire. The target was a boulder embedded in the ground. About ten meters out. Upon collision, the fireball spread outwards and cracked the boulder from the impact. If that was a shinobi they'd be roast. "What power.....I finally did it!!!! Haha! I finally performed my very first elemental technique! Wait until mommy gets a look at this! She'll be so proud of me for doing this! I know it!" Kaito jumped up and down in happiness! A milestone had been reached! With this under his belt he'd be able to learn other fire techniques. "And I did it before Sunrise too!" The drained out boy fell onto his back and sighed in relief. He could already feel himself growing stronger. This training stuff wasn't so bad after all. Like a gunpla, he'd constantly make changes to become a creation like no other. There was also things to be awakened. Although Kaito did not know it himself, his bloodline held great power. It was only a matter of time....
"Guess I'm done over here!" He jumped back onto his feet and walked over to his satchel. The boy packed everything he left out into the bag and swung it over his shoulder. Instead of just walking out of the training grounds, he did some high knees. Kaito jogged out of the area to head back home. What a night in the training grounds. Two techniques learned fairly quickly. Not one time did he think he wasn't going to accomplish anything. This wouldn't be the last time he'd see this training ground. No, this was going to be his second home. Kaito simply loved being here. "See ya later training grounds! Hehe!" Guess choosing the shinobi path wasn't a bad idea after all.
What lies ahead for the boy after this? Now that he has learned his first elemental ninjutsu technique would he pursue more? Would he even try and gain his second element? There was no telling now. Kaito was forever changed after this. He was meant for this life!
