The day had just ended, and Koga was not able to hold the adrenaline inside him worked up from a day of doing nothing. He jumped out of his window, and ran to go into the mountains, but in doing so he felt a cold wind. He did not want to go running in the cold so he had to be indoors. He quickly went to the training grounds to work off his urges. "Must train, Must train, MUST TRAIN" as he ran towards the training ground, his urge to work a sweat was growing, and he felt like bursting. Hoping the grounds would still be open at this time of the day, since everyone was sleeping. Koga wanted action, he was not the type of guy who commonly just trains, and he wanted to go buck wild. He knew if he was going to go beast mode, he should get some training in as well now that he is a genin, and a shinobi valued in the village. He wanted to make himself even more valued in the village, and in his current weak state he knew he could not. After he was so insane in the genin exam, he had to suppress his wild side, he needed to calm himself. He could feel the intent to push himself; it was inside him, almost pining to get out. This force of wanting to rampage, it had to just happen.
Koga started again, and finally within minutes reached the Training Grounds. He grabbed the handles of the door, and pulled it open with a destructive force. It was a heavy door, and he hated using doors. However, in this place, a sacred location in the village, where all great ninja before him had done their training, he had to respect. He headed into the training grounds and recalled his genin exam. “Crap, what a fool I was, I must have looked like an idiot in front of everyone, a monster, I have to become better. More control, something must help me bottle my rage, my anger, my excitement.” He entered the training ground with full determination, and was extremely excited to get his training on. As the door closed, he smirked realizing he was all alone. He grabbed a nearby mop and stuck the handle of it, through the door handles barricading him inside. He then took off all his clothes wearing nothing but his boxers. He took a deep breath and with his heart racing he quickly hung all pieces of clothing in front of the windows, so no one could see from the outside in.
After all his preferable preparations were done, Koga started jogging around the grounds. It was not enough; he quickly jogged straight into a sprint that kept going on for about 15 minutes. Once warmed up, Koga thought to get some strength training going. He was kind of lax as a shinobi in the fine arts, but his niche was taijutsu, so he wanted to concentrate on those physical aspects. He lay down on the floor, with his feet in the air, and his hands stretched out. Toe-touches were going to be his chosen workout for the time being, burn some calories. Slowly burning off the energy, with legs stretched out touching the sky, he made sure his legs were straight; he pulled his knees stretching them first so he was unable of getting a cramp. He took a deep breath, and tightened his stomach muscles, pushing his stomach towards his toes; he went for one test run. Holding his toes as straight as they could go, he bent into a V-shape slowly, making sure to keep it even. All the while keeping focus on his knees, he bent up till he was almost laying his hands on his feet. To which he let out a hard breath of air at the top. He took in another breath, held the position for a dropped back down to the floor and said to himself “Yeah that was a good one!” Here we go nice and easy though Koga, and when his back finally reached the floor, he realized he was going to feel the burn. “There went one!” Koga kept repeating the motion until eventually he was exhausted of doing toe-touches but not because it hurt or he was sore or anything, he was getting bored of the repetitiveness. He changed the position to his side and began again to hit the other side of his abdominals; he thought to give his full abdominal muscles a better workout as to not get a flat board stomach. Koga rolled over onto his stomach, and was ready for a large workout all alone. He was becoming weary from the toe-touches, but being the easiest exercise one could do was ready for some more Koga time. He got up feeling more warmed up he smiled “Let’s get chaotic!” Koga grabbed his kunai, and the practice dummy and he put them in the middle of the grounds. He went to the opposite end and got down into a runner’s stance. He was doing a training he invented which a spin off an old-style training for speed. He called it homicides. In suicides, they run from one side to the middle, back to the start, then to the opposite side and back to the start. This was similar but rather than killing your own body, you focus to kill the target. He had 5 kunai enough for 5 homicides. He propped his rear in the air and bolted for the middle of the grounds. He dashed right above the kunai, once arriving at the middle of the grounds he crouched down grabbed a kunai and ran back to the start. He then quickly turned around same as the suicide and dash to the opposite side of the grounds. Here is where it got a little different. Once he reached the other side of the grounds he jumped at the wall and launched off of it, pushing him in an aerial view of the dummy. Now the homicide part, as he was zoning in on the dummy mid-air he threw the kunai with intense force, and it got stuck in the dummy’s lower abdomen. Homicide complete, not the best aim, but at least he got a hit. He landed and ran back to the start and repeated the task. This time as he ran past the dummy he grabbed the kunai from the dummy’s abdomen and threw it at the opposite wall, and as he ran towards the wall he jumped using the kunai stuck in the wall to get even higher than the first try like a stair. High in the air he threw the kunai full force, and it slit the side of the dummy’s head. He ran back to the start, and this time he knew what he did wrong before. His aim was a bit to the opposite side of his throwing arm. So on this attempt as he closed in on the kunai in the wall, he jumped from it at an angle, the kunai left his hand and punctured the dummy right in the face. He landed on the floor, and ran back to the start. He stared at the dummy and with a victorious attitude screamed at the top of his lungs. This roar of Koga’s was legit; it was the sound of a king claiming domination over his pride. Koga quickly finished his other homicides all hitting except the last one which would have hit but it bounced and ricocheted off the kunai still stuck in the dummy’s face.
He dropped to the floor, and felt so tired; he does not remember that exercise being so tough when he first did it. He sat down heavily breathing, but he could hear inside his conscious “Is that all you got? Weak runt! Do you not feel the fire?!? The rage?!? Burning within, you’re pathetic.” Just then Koga felt a passion, maybe a bit angry at himself for getting tired; he approached the dummy with a killing intent. He started punching the dummy with all his might, gaining more speed and power with every punch, and throwing kicks into the mix he was going hard as heck on that dummy. Even if it was just a dummy this was brutal to watch, he clotheslined the dummy at a decent speed knocking it down to the ground. He rolled grasping it as if choking it to death. “Yes….YES! Kill it, kill it with every feeling of excitement you have! HAHAHA” Just then Koga’s eyes widened, he stood up and slowly backed away from the dummy, he realized that although his training was going well…that was not him. That strength, that energy; It was resonating inside him, but the feelings were not his own. He had always felt power, he had always felt pride, but he was now feeling something about himself he had never felt before. Fear, Koga was afraid of whatever told him to do that. He had trained vigorously but he had never treated anything whether it is animate or inanimate like he was sucking its life away. However, that was not the scary part, the scary part is, and he loved it. Every minute of feeling like he was destroying something, he loved it. He had always suppressed his inner potential, but this was literally the animal instinct. The beast was finally bursting from within him breaking from his cage, and Koga was committing acts based on its wishes.
He paused for a moment and could not understand what he was just thinking. Maybe he was tired, and his mind was running off to dark places, in any case he thought it best to go home. The voice dispersed, and other than the moment of fighting the dummy, he heard it no longer. It was not a clear voice more like a whisper so maybe he imagined it; he shook his head trying to snap out of those thoughts and back to his happy attitude. He got up, stretched, and wiped the sweat off his chest. He ran around the grounds, collecting his clothes. Hopping as he put each article of clothing on while heading for the next, they were all laying on every window. He then left the training grounds, and headed home. His house was at the peak of a mountain in Kumo, and he was so tired he didn't want to have to take the paths all the way home. This was a great chance to practice a skill he learned at the academy, surface walking. He concentrated all the chakra he had into his feet, and one at a time he planted his feet on the wall. He slowly walked up the mountain side exhausting his chakra to keep it going. As he got just almost to the top, he started running out, and slipping. His chakra wasn't exhausted but he was physically fatigued. He slipped off the mountain side, and quickly pulled his kunai out and stabbed it into the wall, and he did the same with a second. He pulled up and with every pull closer to him; he reset the kunai at a higher position. Each time gaining about a foot, he was getting so tired. Finally, he reached the top and upon climbing up lay there, breathing heavily not wanting to even get up off the floor. Still he knew he had to, tomorrow was a brand new day, a new reason to show his village his strength, better yet, a reason to show that they were not mistaken in making him into a ninja.
He jumped inside the house and got into the shower with ice cold water. It felt perfect on his body after that workout. He sat in the cold water, and he could not help but ponder that moment with the dummy. What was that noise? And why did it seem so familiar like he never heard it before, but it had always been there. “Forget it, ha-ha.” He was still a little worried. He quickly cleaned up, put on his pajamas and went to bed.
