That Which Started It All(James, Sa, P, IO, NK) - Page 2 Empty Re: That Which Started It All(James, Sa, P, IO, NK)

As the two clones appeared beside him, James attacked, throwing a punch to the right side of Salzem's jaw. Despite the exhaustion he was feeling from the split, James was slow enough not to catch him off guard. Salzem caught his fist in the air, and squeezed, keeping him still. He watched as the armor around James's body retracted, the whole left side of his body was grey and his eyes changed from white to black. the pupils turned red, making it seem like he half-turned into a monster. Salzem blinked the stare out of his eyes, focusing on the fight at hand. He heard James's quip. He thought these were regular clones! Salzem put on a smirk of his own under his breathing mask, his two clones moving up next to and behind him. Then, in one movement, all three attacked, throwing a combination of attacks, jabs, punches, low kicks, high kicks from three directions. (Strength 20 Speed 34 x 3 (power reduced as not to be fatal)) He doubted that James could dodge or take all of those blows, but even so, once the assault had been completed (weather successful or not), he would leap back a yard, catching his breath. His clones would follow, leaping a foot behind the genuine Salzem.
"That was my plan." Salzem responded to James's question. "And you told me to go all out, so I did. As for teaching you, I might." Salzem said before leering menacingly. "If you survive this next one." Salzem was kidding of course. He always had a dark sense of humor.

That Which Started It All(James, Sa, P, IO, NK) - Page 2 Empty Re: That Which Started It All(James, Sa, P, IO, NK)

At this point, Salzem was getting REAL tired of James's unending cockiness. At James's response, Salzem muttered something under his breath, glaring down at the now sitting genin with eyes of vast annoyance and distaste.
"For what reason would I teach you something like that?" Salzem growled at him, leaning himself up against a tree. "i do not know you, you seem to take nothing seriously, and quite frankly, I don't like you."
He had dismissed his clones with a simple wave of his hand, disappearing in a cloud of white smoke. Although the gesture was not necessary, Salzem always found it was more entertaining (to him at least) to use unnecessary movements to start or end a jutsu such as this. Salzem glares down at James, now encased in his Titan's Bane Armor. It seemed apparent that he wasn't going to just leave him alone or give him some half-assed answer. Salzem waited for the strange, annoying boy to make his case.

"it doesn't matter if you can fight, James." Salzem responded, crossing his arms, not leaning off the tree. "You could be some high level Jounin, wanting to learn this technique and I still would not teach you." Salzem's sanguine eyes light up with freezing cold anger. "Here is what I want." Salzem raised his index finger.
"You think you can prove your seriousness to me in a fight? Anyone can do that. I have the sneaking suspicion that your not going to use my jutsu for positive means. Can you prove it to me otherwise?" Salzem raises his middle finger along side his index.
"I had a look at you during out spar and you need more training if you are to HOPE to master this jutsu." finally, Salzem raised his ring finger along side his middle and index.
"and finally..." Salzem paused for a moment before finishing his thought. "There is really nothing I could teach you even, hokage forbid, If I wanted to." Salzem looked at the genin, unable to read his expression through the armor.
"Someone else would be better suited as your teacher." Salzem muttered.

Salzem rolled his red eyes pushing himself off of the tree. Why couldn't this kid see the obvious? James circled him, like a lion circling an injured animal. Salzem just stood there, letting James observe him. Surely by now James had identified his breathing mask as his greatest physical weakness, or maybe he was oblivious to the obvious. Or maybe both. Whichever, Salzem lowered himself slowly into a fighting stance, one hand on his katana, should he need it. He breathed deep in, then out, letting the tension leave his body as he cleared his mind. Salzem noted the distance between James and himself. Three feet. A meter is a distance of no meaning, beyond easy for anyone to cover. Salzem waited for James to make his move, preparing himself mentally and physically for the fight at hand.

Salzem sighed and turned around, heading in the opposite direction. Apparently the simple act of placing a hand on his weapon had caused James to loose interest in their sparring session. He was honestly relieved as he did not wish to spend any more time than he had to entertaining this person. Maybe they could have been friends. That's a laugh. Salzem took his hand away from his katana, slipping his hands into his pockets. He thought about what James had said, about him not letting go of his past. As long as he wore this breathing mask, he was stuck with it, a constant reminder on his place in the world. He couldn't expect James to understand that. He couldn't expect anyone to understand that. Yet, at the same time, the mask reminded him of why he had become a ninja in the first place. To shove his frailty in the faces of those who underestimated him. They were all fools. None of them understood.
