Kozata was lost. Well, he was a loser, but that wasn't what he meant in this case. Now, in particular, he had no idea where he was. See, this is what happened when he left the village for too long. Even for training, however, he had managed to goof up. Had someone kidnapped him? He had no clue what had happened. Even the mansion wasn't about to tell him (if it even could!), so he decided to give it the cold shoulder momentarily and head in... some random direction. As it so happened, the sun was rising and the morning was absolutely beautiful.
Well, if anything, he could enjoy nature's beauty. He had a great walk, noticing the landscape changing. It was a warm grassland climate, with clumps of trees here and there.... warm... hey, wasn't that what he was out here for in the first place? He headed toward one of them, and sat down to rest. A moment later, he was up and running, as a cloud of hornets buzzed after him. Waagh! This place was too natural for him! No sooner had he left behind the hornets, then he slowed, catching his breath. He supposed this was what they meant by "untamed wilds" after all.
At this stage, he noticed that his Shima headband was not on his head, rather, tucked into one of his jacket pockets, hidden from view. Was this one of the precautions the mansion had taken? Were there hostile ninja around here? Kozata became a little more wary, scanning the area around him every so once in a while as he walked toward what seemed like a mountain in the distance. At one point, he found a natural hot spring. Perfect for trying out things. He got closer to it, noting that it was empty.
Good, the fewer people around, the better. He put his hand into the hot spring, and immediately drew it back. Hot! He tried again, this time attempting to absorb some of the heat. Good. His hand went in easier this time, and he felt the wetness of the hot springs interior. He shifted one of his fingers, and felt a small bump.... oh, it was just a rock. Sighing in disappointment, he sat back in thought.
-What are you so disappointed about, boy?-
The mansion's tone was curious, poking around to see what was going on. Kozata pushed the other mind away, giving his attention back to the water. This time around, he put his hand in, focusing his chakra.... secure, absorb, contain. Those were the concepts he had worked out for this jutsu. Well, in particular.... he needed to seal the heat. He focused, his brow wrinkling as sweat began to pour down his brow, not just from the rising sun or the chakra expended, but also from the sheer amount of heat he was absorbing from the hot spring and internalizing within his body. It... burned so much! He felt like he was going to explode...
At that moment, he realized that he was taking things the wrong way. He was wasting too much chakra... when all he needed to do was isolate the pain. In that instant, Kozata had a eureka, and epiphany. He grinned, then used the pulsing chakra in his system to bring the pain and heat from all over his body into one location: his left shoulder. The pain rushed through his bicep, causing him to wince slightly, but he tanked through it, hoping for the best. At last, the mansion relented and lent him a little yuumei, causing the chakra to be more controlled, due to the yuumei controlling and erasing its adverse effects. With this, the deep red seal on his left shoulder would begin to form.
The seal, in particular, was small, and almost indistinguishable from a tattoo. It was an ornate, symmetrical design... well, that fit the perception of the mansion's style perfectly. Kozata wasn't one to evaluate things like this, but he did think that it looked somewhat cool.
"Nice." He got up, and moved on, hoping for the best. What turned out to be a large mountain, however, was a much smaller waterfall type thing, with the statues of two men. What was this...? A tourist destination? He got into a crowd of people, some of whom were ninjas. Great! Now he was frickin' stuck in the middle of a nowhere ass place, with a bunch of other people who he had no idea of their capabilities. Hopefully, he knew, his chakra signature wouldn't be detected well, due to the large number of grunts with similar power levels in the area.
With that, the legacy of the Loser of Shimagakure would continue, as he had survived the worst, and was now completely lost, somewhere out there.
