A Spark Ignites: The Fuel of Ambition! (1/2)

~ Daybreak, a time of stillness, recovery, and rebirth, was one of the few times that life in Sunagkure was bearable for life as the temperatures were at perfection due to the absence of the sun for hours prior which alleviated the beating of the heat waves from the solar radiation and the burning sensation of sand that seemed to get in places where one would never expect. A few individuals who wished to get a leg up on the day were seen moving about the village whether it was in preparation for customers or a shinobi standing duty but one individual seemed to have very little need to be up at such an hour. . . Having graduated from the Academy in recent months, Sumiko was a kunoichi of ambition and found that hitting the ground running was far more appealing than resting in wait for orders from her superiors in order to start her career.  The girl had slipped from her bed, grabbed her belongings, and headed out of the Yoshido household with the burning desire to prepare herself to be a true kunoichi of the Hidden Sand. The desert native made her way through the calm village with ease and grace, only the whipping black waterfall of hair being the true indication of how fast the girl truly moved. Within a matter of moments, she had made it to the gates where she was met by two Sunagakure jounin. Their appearance had stopped the girl's exit of the village but that didn't seem to deter the kunoichi in the slightest as certainly, it wouldn't be too much of a hassle for her to leave the village if she would just be beyond the village's gates?~

Sunagakure Jounin: "Good Morning, Little Kunoichi. . . What brings you to the village gates at this hour?"

~ The "Little Kunoichi" name made Sumiko internally cringe as it wasn't rocket science to figure out that, just like most of her superiors, she was still seen as a child that needed to be coddled and protected especially given her being a young girl. Such a thing was rare when compared to her male peers who were expected to be more rigid and tough which bothered her because deep inside she knew that there had to be a desert scorpion residing within the depths of her own soul. Despite her annoyance with the Jounin's label Sumiko also recognized that this was something that she would hopefully grow out of in her superior and peer's eyes with training and mastery which made her even more eager to get her training underway. Recalling her what her parents told her about etiquette the girl bowed towards the two jounin; portions of her long black hair flowing over her shoulders as she reached the depths of the bow before resting over her chest as she stood.~

"Good Morning, Sensei! I am going to start my training and I feel that the desert would be the best place to do so. . . I promise not to stray too far."

* The Jounin bow back to Sumiko before sharing a glance with each other, clearly thinking about her request *

~ Sumiko hated this. . . while she understood how dangerous the open desert could be both in its natural and human-sourced dangers; the idea of having to ask for permission for every little thing like an infant simply didn't sit right with her. She remained silent despite her growing irritation as she knew that arguing simply wouldn't convince them nor would it convey her to be a developing and mature kunoichi. Her grey eyes watched the two jounin chat with one another; the one that hadn't spoken seemed to be hesitant to the idea due to her naivety and the already strained defenses of the village but it would seem that her formality impressed the other one or maybe he could relate with the dying urge and excitement that came from being a fresh Genin. Their chattering seemed to take hours as the kunoichi had no real choice but to wait for them until it suddenly stopped and that same Jounin looked at her before folding his arms and nodding to her.~

Sungakure Jounin: " Alright, Little One. . . We will allow you to step out to train BUT stay close to the gates! We wouldn't want you getting hurt or lost out there."

~ Finally. . .  the words she wished to hear were said and Sumiko didn't even allow her superior's slight coddling to bother her. A glint of passion was in full bloom behind her smoky grey eyes when she saw the massive gates of Sunagakure open and revealed the pathway that would lead out into the open desert. As the doors opened, she could feel the strong winds as the doors disturbed the pressure gradient between the village and the open desert which allowed the warm desert air to tussle her sleek black hair which almost felt like an embrace from the otherwise unrelenting behemoth. There were very few times that Sumiko had been permitted outside of these gates without her parents but this moment in itself marked the true start of her life as a shinobi. . . A smirk formed on her rounded face before bowing once again to the Jounin and rushing out of the village, down the pathway, and out into the open desert.~
