A star ignites

This was the day she had so highly anticipated since she had come to Kumogakure. She would try to become a Genin. Proudly she had demonstrated her new skills and she was more than happy about how able she had become in the time she had been given to her. Right now he was combing through her hair and putting that awfully long hair into a tight braid so it would not be in her way when she would try the exam. Gently he would stroke over her head and whisper good luck into her ear before she would stand up and run her hand over her skirt to make sure it was all down. Then she would grab her schoolbag and take it to the door. There slipping into her old boots and wave to her brother before leaving.
While running through the street she would then continue to greet people left and right. The lady at the store who sold the veggies and fruits she bought regularly. The postman who crossed her path along the way, one random person she had never met before and some children playing in the streets who seemed a little surprised at her cheerful demeanour. But she did not mind that she was happy because today was the day she would become a Genin she was sure about that. Before entering the academy she would take out the amulet she had gotten from Hjalbin and gave the moon and heart a small kiss before she made her way inside the Academy. Quickly she would get inside the room where she would sit and wait for her proctor to appear.

Max would rush over to the Ninja Academy, running a bit later than he would like. He had been up and ready several hours earlier than this, but his research on medicine, chakra, and their interactions with the body would have him engrossed in his studies. There was so much to learn and so little time. But of course, that wasn't the point. 

He was running late. No excuses. Hopefully the Student hadn't been waiting too long.

Max would find the room and pop in, noticing Yasumi. If she had been ready to take this exam that meant that she had overcome the obstacle of forming hand seals with only one hand. It was impressive that she had been able to make so much progress in such a short time. Now was the real test, though if she could form seals in her condition he didn't expect her to have any issues with this exam.

Max would step up to the desk, picking up some papers and reading them over. Despite his friendship with Yasu, he would need to be as professional here as possible. He was a Chuunin now and had to be more responsible.


"Student Yasumi Sora, please stand and ready yourself in the assigned location." Max would say, reading off of the paper like script and pointing to a place at the front of the class so that he would be able to fully inspect the student during this test.

Once she was in position Max would continue, "To complete this section of the testing, the student must succesfully demonstrate the ability to use both the Clone Technique along with the Transformation Jutsu." Max would simply place the papers down, no longer needing them.

"Alright, so you heard the stipulations. I need to see those techniques used properly and you can graduate to Genin. I would also like you to inform me of at least one situation where such a technique could be useful in the field. What being 'in the field' means is up to you, so long as it pertains to the role of a Kumogakure shinobi." Max would say this, trying to be professional.

While some may sit, the boy would stand and watch, leaning against the desk and waiting. 

"Oh, and one more thing. Good luck, though I doubt you will need it."

Yasumi had patiently been sitting there waiting for the one to take her exam. The almost at the peak the door opened and there was someone walking into the room that she knew. Slowly she blinked at the blond Chuunin walking in and it was Max. What a great sight but also which horror. Now if she failed he would know first. No covering up no hiding it away. Was this the stage fright she had heard about? No she would not need this right now but unfortunately she felt a little shiver down her spine when he called out her name just as if they did not know each other at all. A little bit off guard she would take her place standing before him as he had motioned to her. Listening to what she was about to do.

Taking in a deep breath she would look at the young boy, she had recited it so often that she dreamed of those rules. Now that she stood here and was to recite them she felt at unease. But back to the things at hand and not to trail off path. Slowly she nodded at him and as he said he was confident in her she smiled at him with the same glee and cheerful spirit she would always wear upon her face. Now she would look into his grey eyes and nod again: "Thank you", before clearing her throat, "The transformation Technique can be used to disguise one's self. It can change the outward appearance of a Shinobi to resemble a human or animal about the Shinobis size and weight. Sure the Jutsu can cover up some irregularities but not all", she would shake her head slightly as she would then raise her arm, "The trickiest part is to know the slight differences between you and the person you would wish to impersonate. Birthmarks, scars or other irregularities like missing hands or stuff like that", she would say with a sweet smile knowing they shared this disability. Then she would continue, "Last but not least one has to mimic speech patterns and tics. Someone that knows the person you are impersonating could spot those tiny differences quite easily so you should have them on par." Slowly she would tilt her head from one side to the other and back again taking a deep breath once more before then saying: "Situations where this comes in handy? All Situations where you need to be stealthy, because even when you are not impersonating someone just not looking like yourself can be of benefit when no one is supposed to know who you are and where you are from. There are ways to detect a Shinobi who wears this kind of disguise especially because most of us do radiate a certain amount of chakra that can be sensed by others that is not covered by the transformation alone. Still it can be used to fool even trained Shinobi if done with quick wit and some back thought, but Shinobi are not solely used against Shinobi and therefore this Jutsu, although quite simple can be of great use when dealing with opposing parties that do not know of the abilities of a Shinobi and therefore do not know how to unravel them properly", she thought she had taken on about this long enough where as she felt she did not tell enough still.

But this was typical about her, she was never really happy with what she produced so this should be at least an okay feeling coming through. Onto the next one: "The clone Jutsu produces two copies of the user that exactly mirror the movements of the user. They are not touchable they are mere illusions and cannot harm, touch or do anything besides what the user does. And there is the downside to it", she would begin and yes she did not like the clone Jutsu that much and if she had not been asked to learn it, she probably would have skipped it. "Because of their illusive nature they don't cast a shadow on the ground, if they are hit by something they dissolve and whatever they do has no real effect. Because if their flaws even none Shinobi combatants with a little insight into observing carefully they can easily spot the wrong targets and then still attack the Shinobi and since every Shinobi is probably trained this to the peak of exhaustion like I was they better not be fooled by this either or else the schooling was all for not." She gave a small sigh and shook her head and then looked at Max again smiling.

"Well time for me to be demonstrating that I can indeed do what they require me to do", she was shaking a little although she had tried it several times before she was nervous. Everyone was watching her right now and if she failed everything was down the drain. So slowly she would raise her hand and start doing the seals. Now think of a picture, think of a person to copy and then poof smoke would engulf her and a moment later she would have taken the form of her brother. The taller young man with that healthy body and confident smile on his lips that she was not really ready to display who was always covering her back whatever happened was now her outward appearance.  So now as well he was getting her through the exam for sure and she had done in only one hand and it still worked. As she looked down she could see her brothers both hands and stared at them in wonder but then she would close her eyes and poof return to her normal self now once again forging up some seals and then having left and right one clone appear to copy her every move even as she made a light polite bow to Max: "I am done." She would now smile at Max three times over and her heart war racing a bit.

Max would offer a hand of applause, though light and without the sound one would expect since he had a prosthetic. He would give a nod and smile, acknowledging her achievement. He remembered back when he became a Genin. It felt like it had been an eternity ago, but the memory was still a decent one.

"You have not only successfully demonstrated the ability to use the techniques, but also managed to explain them and their uses. Not only that, but you managed to transform into a figure known to me. It looked to be up to par, too." Max would say, reaching over the desk to a box sitting on it. He would take out a headband and present it to her to take. 

"Yasui, I now grant you the rank of Genin of Kumogakure. May you always wear it with pride, even in your moments of doubt. This signifies you as a shinobi, no longer a mere student. There are responsibilities that come with this headband, but I am sure that you are aware of this. Take this headband and go forth from this moment on as a true Kumo shinobi."

Max would give her a moment to take it all in and accept the rank. Once she had done so the boy would grin and say, "Congratulations. I believe we can expect great things from you. I will likely see you around, Yasu." He would continue examinations of other excited young Academy Students ready to move on to the next phase of their training.

She would look at him blink a little as if she did not believe her ears. A smile lightened up her face as her copies would fade away and now it was only her standing here in front of Max looking at him and then the headband he put towards her. Slowly she would take it up and look at it unfolding it carefully like it was most precious. Well it was from now on till forever. Slowly she would tie it around her neck to have it as a scarf for now and then smile at her friend and proctor. "Thank you I will be glad to see you in the future", she would bow to him kind of agitated now even more than before to see the inside of the workshop he had told her about and to get to know her puppet master even more.
