Fire Advance (Mission.)
Wed Jun 10, 2015 12:18 am
(Link to mission here. Yes, S rank, because it has the exact amount of ryo that I need to get my scroll upgraded. Open to Sal, Risako, and Ryugia. I'll npc the monster, unless there are complaints, or a mod would rather do the honor of having a massive beast be burned to ashes.)
Kasai had heard the rumors of a massive summon gone wrong, and as far as he knew, he was currently the strongest konoha shinobi that was active at the time. Therefore, he took this responsibility on himself.
Of course, that was not the only reason, and others being the money he needed to enchant his ape scroll with the power to enhance his fire jutsu, and the fact that he believed himself and the ape clan able to easily dispose of this summon. If it was so dangerous, it had not met an ape that could burn away your very life-force; and Kasai was friends with such an ape.
However, Kasai knew to never get too full of ones self, or the power they hold, for such was ultimately everyone's downfall. And so, he had sent out a simple letter to each of the three members on his team, two of which were now the same rank as himself.
He did not mention that this mission was an S rank...probably would have been a good idea, but he did not want to scare them off. He could guarantee their lives in this mission, and so if they wanted the money as well, and thought that saving him from boredom would be a big enough contribution, even if they couldn't do anything else to the beast.
"Ah, life," he sighed to himself. "Why are you so busy and full of insomnia?" He asked to no one, chuckling, the dark lines around his eyes suggesting that both were currently true for himself.

Sitting at home, Risako packed her clothes away into a box. Yanking her headband off of her nightstand, she grabbed a kunai and drove it into the wall above her bed, suspending the headband where it was.
Afterward, she slipped into her chuunin uniform, and looked into the mirror. A form fitting blackish blue long sleeve shirt accompanied by matching pants. Her uniform lacked the flack jacket vest thing. It wasn't necessarily uncomfortable to her, but she was used to looser, more free flowing cltohes. Unfortunately her old clothes were ready to become someone else's, due to Risako's growth. While she was gazing silently at her reflection, posing every once in a while, she noticed something. Her stomach had a case of the rumblies.
Risako flew down the stairs, running until she slid to a stop at the fridge. Yanking it open, she started to drool. For now though she would limit her self to the rolls, as the food that was bought using her promotion money was for something important. Taking a bite out of it, she wondered why she stuck the rolls in fridge. Only fuckin weirdos stick rolls in the fridge. I mean seriously, Its weird.
Deciding it was time for a walk, Risako stretched to the right, then the left. Then she touched her toes and looked up, noticing the letter that lay in front of her door. Slowly, she stood back up and side stepped cautiously toward the letter. Reading who it was from, she yoinked it from the ground without hesitation.
After reading the note, she nodded her head. A mission sounded much more fun than a simple walk. Barefoot, she bursted out of her door in a full sprint, headed toward the meet up.
[Time skip: 5 minutes]
(Was that really necessary? Yes.)
Risako only slowed down as she neared Kasai. Stopping within four meters, she gave a long elegant bow, her left arm jutting out to the side, and her right tucked at her waist, and her head to the ground. "Oh glorious leader," she snapped her head up, so that she looked through her shaggy bangs at Kasai's eyes. "What the hell are we doing exactly? I didn't get that far in the letter."

Salzem had woken up from a nap he was taking. As of late, he couldn't get any real sleep. He rubbed his eyes, and yawned. Not satisfied with the brief respite, he fell back upon the ground, closing his eyes once again, As he was about to drift back into the welcoming arms of sleep. Then he remembered something. He was supposed to meet Kasai for a mission. His eyes snapped open and he jumped to his feet. Salzem ran to the meeting place, tightening his headband which hung around his neck. Salzem saw Risako had gotten there first and was already talking to Kasai. He approached quietly, craning his neck while doing so. He heard Risako ask what they were doing. Salzem waved as he approached, stretching the last of the knots out of his neck. Sleeping on the ground was not the most comfortable thing.
"It is good to see you two again." Salzem said, nodding at both of them in greeting.
"What are we doing, Kasai?" Salzem asked,

Kasai watched as Risako and Salzem approached, one shortly after the other. He knew that recently, both of the shinobi had achieved the rank of Chuunin; a rank of significant power, and the same rank as Kasai. He would have to remember to congratulate them on the achievement. However, he would address the first question they asked him.
"I trust you two have been on a mission in your time?" He said. "Perhaps to reach your recent promotion?" He would wait for their answer before continuing. "I asked you to come because this is also a mission, but one of such rank that I would rather not do it alone.
"This is an S rank mission," he said, flicking his eyes to the forest. "So, in theory, its supposed to be so dangerous that it's life-threatening," at this he couldn't help but let a small smirk slide across his lips. "but, I figured what the hell, I've practically died once, how bad can it be a second time?
"It also sounded less difficult than what I consider an S rank should be," he continued. "But the pay's good, so I'm not complaining," he finished.
"There is a massive beast, supposedly a summon creature gone wild, just within the forest wall, and it has become a threat to the village; which is where we come in.
"There aren't many active high-rank shinobi left in this village, and I thought that, seeing as we are some of the strongest, who else would take on this monster? I have also invited Ryugia, because he can get the experience if he wants, but I do not yet know if he will show up yet or not," he said, looking between the two.
"Anyway, I have my arsenal of fire upgraded since we last met, Risako," Kasai said, nodding his head at her, "and one that you have yet to see, Salzem. Invented it myself, and as far as I know, it probably does something. You two are both apt and able fighters, and Ryugia has potential," Kasai said. "So, the only thing I don't know about is this beast itself."
(Wooow, I need some sleep. Sorry this is short, and doesn't really sound like Kasai should. My summer job is slowly destroying me. Anyway, do you guys know if we all have to do the 10k words, or if that word req is split among the three/four of us?)

Ryugia ran towards a wooden target at his top speed. The chidori in his hand chirped like a 1000 birds. He had been working at 3 jutsus all day, and these final tests were his last judgment of how he had progressed. His sharingan was trained in on the target, three tomoes all working to aid him in his attack. He still couldn't change the direction he was moving, but that was the least of his worries at this point. He had technically had won against risako the last time they had fought, but it hadn't been exactly as he had wanted. They had both gotten carried away, and he had ended up sticking Risako with a kunai in the leg, and she had unleashed a crazy fire technique on him. That is what he had wanted though, and in the end she tapped out. He had manged to see her fire style with his sharignan though and had been working hard at it too.
It happened in the blink of and eye. His arm shot out, and the chidori connected with a final long scream, as he pierced through the chest of the wooden dummy. He smiled coolly, and ripped his hand out, as he let the lightning chakra explode from his hand, leaving the dummy in a pile of splinters. "Well that went well I think. On to the next jutsu."
He quickly wove the hand signs Dog, Snake, Horse, Tiger, holding the last seal while he enacted the jutsu. He concentrated, letting his chakra flow out all around him. With a simple change in chakra nature the chakra became blinding light. With this jutsu you really needed a live subject, and since he had no opponent he decided to use it on himself. The light made him close his eyes, and when they opened he was no longer in the practice field he had once been in. He was standing in the uchiha district, right in front of his home. He was able to manipulate anything. A dog suddenly appeared at his call, and a sword at his side. He smiled smugly, and released the jutsu. "Two down, one to go." He caught his breath as he realized how tired he was. He had been practicing for hours on end, and he was running very low on chakra. He only had one jutus left to practice, but it was a new one, that he had only just started.
Snake, Ram, rabbit, boar, horse, tiger. As the last seal was made he took in a large breath, keeping in his throat, and mixing his chakra in. As he felt a searing heat begin to form, he opened his mouth, ragin fire bellowing from the opening. It became a huge ball, much bigger than the measly one he had made before. It seared the earth as it moved, leaving a black trail in it's path. He was quite proud of himself. He was becoming a prodigy to Rival his friend Amaya. He grunted grasping his stomach, as he feel to his knees in pain. He had used a lot of chakra, and was exhausted. His sharingan winked out of existence, leaving him starring at the ground in silence. "Hmmph, better get going home. It's getting dark" He said shakily standing up.
He arrived at the Uchiha district 15 minutes later, walking under the banners barring his crest, lit up by the light of some oil lamps. The district was alive with shops and people. He smiled as he thought about how he had once heard that this place had been barren and lonely, but they had come back in full. He was a descendant of Sasuke Uchiha, as were most of the current day Uchiha, but he often thought of himself as being even closer, like somehow he could feel his strength, just a little bit flowing through him.
He walked into his estate, and over a small red bridge, that stretched over a brilliant blue stream running around the entire grounds. He was greeted by the familiar sound of his family's voices, and the Rhythmic tapping of the Bamboo water fountain. Both sounds were inviting and comforting. He carefully removed his shoes, stepping up onto the wooden floors of his home. He carefully slid open the paper door, entering in. He was momentarily caught off guard as a wooden practice kunai was thrown at his head. He easily caught it between his fingers, as his brother smiled down at him, clinging to the ceiling with the wall walking jutsu. His brother had recently entered the ninja academy, but had such impressive chakra control he had already mastered this technique. It was impressive to be sure.
"Ryu! What do you think? I'm getting better aren't I?"
"Definitely. You're getting better every day."
"Sasumi! What have I told you about jutsu in the house!?"
"None in the house." Sasumi said solemnly as he detached and landed on the floor. "Any ways dad wants to see you in his room. I'de hurry it sounded important.
I nodded, and he took off, jumping right back on the walls as soon as he was out of mom's eye sight. I walked past mom, as she was finishing some dishes, her long beautiful deep brown hair flowing down her back. She smiled at me, and I was filled with warm feelings. My family was all I ever needed. I walked back out onto the wooden walkway that went all around the circumference of the home.
I walked in on my father, after passing Sasumi and my youngest brother Izuhi playing ninja out in the courtyard. I knocked, and upon my father's command opened the door. I knelt down in front of him. "You wanted me father?"
"Yes. I received this today. it's a letter requesting you for a mission. You're team leader Kasai has set a meeting point for tomorrow."
"Hmmf he certainly didn't waste any time. I'm going to go to bed then so I can get some rest. I think I'm getting those 3 jutsu down now. Even the fire style one."
"I'm proud of you Ryugia. You are truly bringing pride to the Uchiha name. I think one day your caring nature, and all your strength will make you a candidate for Hokage."
I smiled. "Thank you father" With that I left, going to my room for a good nights sleep.
In the morning I slipped on a loose fitting shirt. It was forest green, my favorite color, a deep shadowy color, but still full of life. The Uchiha crest shone brilliantly on the back, and I was proud to wear it. I tied my head band around my head, my brown hair coming out over the sides ever so slightly. I put on a white pair of shorts going down to just over my knees. I carefully tied bandages around one side to keep it in place, and then buckled my two side holsters on over them. I looped belt through the loops on my short, securing my back holster to it. I loaded all my gear up, putting a back pack on over top all of this. It went over one shoulder, as it only had one strap. I loaded about 20 kunai and shuriken, 6 smoke bombs, 6 spools of wire, 20 senbon, and 2 summoning scrolls containing water. I also over my back attached a scabbard, sliding in a straight sword from the rack of weapons we kept in the house. it was simple, but it was the only one that had metal in the grip, and that is what I needed. I walked out through the kitchen grabbing a small sack of food my mother had made up for me, and set off.
I landed back down on the ground from running across roof tops. I landed right next to risako, standing up coolly. He gave a slight smile, and greeted them. "Sorry if I'm a tad late. I had to make sure I had all the essentials." Two Fuma shuriken were securely placed in his back pack, with wire already attached. "So what are we doing?" he said now focused on the mission.

Risako nodded at Salzem, and listened attentively to Kasai. All the while, she was thinking of Ryugia. More specifically, why he was late. If he came along and said something about how we woke up late and all that she wouldn't care, accidents happen. But if he had shown up late, and jumped down from a rooftop trying to look all cool, oh that would be unforgivable. She'd probably deck him if that happened.
Just being on the same team exempted no one from rough housing. Actually, having to deal with someone so often made rough housing a necessary coping mechanism. Slowly sliding her arm around Ryugia, a sly, cheeky little smile could be seen on Risakos face. He had managed to make it after all, but Kasai had already briefed them on the mission, and know they would have to listen to it again. Which when dealing with something like an S-rank mission, things like being on time and not wasting time were seriously important.
When her arm was competely wrapped around his shoulders, she leaned over on him and started to wrap her other arm around him, sort of like a hug. Suddenly, with a jerky motion, Risako would throw both her self and Ryugia to the ground, catching him in a choke hold, Risako's legs wrapped around his ribs. Through clenched teeth, she would grunt out "What do you think this is?"
All this was just a little necessary rough housing. No need for the team leader to intervene. Not at all. She would then release, and push him off of her. However, for the moment, she would stay on the ground, staring into the clouds. Seriously, first the rolls then attempted assault? Well... Not attempted I guess.

Salzem nodded to Ryugia as he jumped off a near by building, landing next to Risako. His excuses where not of any consequence to Salzem, and surely not to Kasai either. Salzem was bout to brief Ryugia on the mission at hand before Risako embraced him in a hug. Salzem's eyes widened in surprise. He was not expecting displays of affection such as this. Especially from Risako and inconceivably for Ryugia. Salzem couldn't help but feet a twing of jealousy, Seeing Risako wrap her arms around the little uchiha boy like that. Suddenly, Risako threw herself and Ryugia to the ground, catching him in a head-lock.
What was this? Salzem thought to himself, Seeing Risako strangle the kid. A second or two later of choking, Risako threw Ryugia off of him, and she sat, staring at the clouds. Salzem would roll his red eyes, offering the poor kid a hand to help him up.
"That was unexpected..." Salzem would mutter before turning to Kasai.
"Well, now that we are all here, why don't we get a move on?
